Cannot charge my macbook air

my battery is not charging

I've noticed the same problem too with my late 2011 MBA. I upgraded to Mavericks and it charged some after that but has since stopped. I'm leaning toward this being a software issue rather than hardware.

I cannot connect my MacBook Air to a projector - It will not detect a 2nd monitor or display. I am using an Apple made Mini Display port to VGA adapter. As I read online I see that many other peple are having the same problem. Is this an Apple defect!!???? If so it just burst the bubble about how great macs are. I never had a problem with that on a PC. I hope I am wrong. What can you tell me?

    Hi There,
I have had the exact same issue but with a projector.
The issue lies with Mountian Lion 10.8.2.
I tried many a combination with no luck to get HDMI working.
Took my mac into the apple store and came to the conclusion it was the software, so I asked them to install 10.8 onto it (this is destructive so a backup is a must)
Bought my macbook home and voila, now displaying through my projector.
There is a small graphics update after 10.8.1 which seems to be the cause.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • Is it OK to charge the Macbook Air with charge for Macbook Pro?  45W to 60W...

Can I charge my Macbook Air with Macbook Pro charger?  It is 45W to 60W.
    What is impact?

You can use a higher wattage charger than the one that came with the computer, but not one of a lower wattage.

  • I cannot pair my Macbook Air (Yosemite) with my iPhone or iPad via Bluetooth.

I cannot pair my Macbook Air (Yosemite) with my iPhone or iPad via Bluetooth. It is recognising the devices but 'connection unsuccessful'

That is correct.  Macs do not pair to iPhones, iPads, etc.
However, pairlng is not required to get Handoff to work.  Both devices must have Bluetooth on, but they need not (indeed cannot) be paired.
OS X Yosemite: Pick up where you left off with Handoff
You must be using supported devices:
OS X Yosemite: supported devices for Handoff, Instant Hotspot, Phone Calling, SMS, and AirDrop

  • When I should start charging my MacBook Air?

Just wondering because in the iPhones/iPods it send you a notification, MacBooks don't.
    -Thanks.

I like charging my Macbook Air when it is down to 20%-10% because it is just like the iPhones, allowing you to use all of your battery life and then charging it up to 100%. Charging when the battery is low allows you to save time by not having to go and plug everything and makes you use almost every part of your battery life so that you don't waste electricity.
    Hope this helped

  • HP900 Inkjet - Cannot print from Macbook air 2014

    Hi
I have a HP900 inkjet printer connected via a Windows PC on my network.
I can see and connect to that printer from my MacBook via the network (by connecting to the PC).
But unable to select the correct drivers. Hence unable to print.
Connected the printer directly to my MacBook air using an USB cable.
    Didn’t recognise.
My preference is to use it though the network via the windows PC.
Much appreciated if you could help me to get this issue resolved.
    Thank you.

    Hi ielk,
    Thank you for your reply!
After some further research I found that this printer is not compatible with Mac. That is why you cannot find any drivers.
According to this drivers page, HP 900 Inkjet Printer Drivers, this printer is only supported on, Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows Vista (32-Bit and 64-bit).
If you are looking for a compatible printer, please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region. Country-language selector.
Hope this information helps you, and have a great day!

  • Cannot scan to MacBook Air

I have a HP B110 e-all-in-one printer about 2.1/2 year old. It works as a printer wirelessly with my MacBook Air laptop fine. However, I cannot get it to scan to my MacBook Air. The machine provides an overview of a document, but will not scan it to a folder on my MacBook. This has been a recurring problem! I do hope that I do not have to buy a new printer/scanner as otherwise my current printer works fine.

Hi and , Let's try a more comprehensive approach. Please use the steps below and let me know the outcome of your efforts; Scrub/ Uninstall
Open the Applications folder > HP or Hewlett Packard folder > HP UninstallerClick continue, click on one of the printers in the list.* Only do this step if you do not have any other HP Printers.  Hold down Control, Option and Command, While holding the three buttons down,
Click uninstall. If you do not have an HP folder, skip to the next set of instructions. Manually uninstall potentially remaining files - I apologize in advanced this is not a fun task! I will try to make it easy to follow. Some of the files described in the following steps may not be found, if you can't find one of the files or folders on your computer, don't be alarmed. Move the files and/or folders to the trash, drag and dropMacintosh HD/Applications//Hewlett-Packard folderMacintosh HD/Library/Application Support/ - delete all files and folders regarding HP/Hewlett PackardIn Macintosh HD/Library/Caches - delete all files and folders regarding HP/Hewlett PackardMacintosh HD/Library/Documentation/Help/ - delete all files and folders regarding HP/Hewlett PackardMacintosh HD/Library/Frameworks/HPServicesInterface.frameworkMacintosh HD/Library/Frameworks/HPSmartX.frameworkMacintosh HD/Library/Image Capture/TWAIN Data Sources/HP Scan ProIn Macintosh HD/Library/Image Capture/Scripts - delete all files and folders regarding HP/Hewlett PackardIn Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences - delete all files and folders regarding HP/Hewlett PackardMove Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences/loginwindow.plist to the desktop. If the issue persists, let me know we can look at creating a new user account and scanning from there. I look forward to hearing from you.

  • Charging New MacBook Air

All wattage ratings aside, will using a 16.5 volt MacBook adapter damage the batteries in the 11" MBA? The output of the 45W adapter that came with it applies 14.5 volts.

I also wondered about the voltage difference between MBP 60w+ adapters and the MBA 45w adapters.
Note that the article also states (it was updated 2/2011, since your last post) that:
Note: Adapters that shipped with the MacBook Air (Original), MacBook Air (Late 2008), and MacBook Air (Mid 2009) are not recommended for use with MacBook Air (Late 2010) models. When possible, use your computer's original adapter or a newer adapter.
newer adapters should power and charge your MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air just like the adapter that originally came with your computer
indicating backwards compatibility between newer adapters and older computers - but not necessarily the other way around, nor universal compatibility.
So I'm wondering how safe it is to power the Late 2010 Macbook Airs from older Macbook Pro adapters...

  • Cannot start my macBook Air

    Hi,
I have a macBook Air - I restarted it after closing everything. Now I cannot restart it.
I get the white screen with the apple in the midle and that's it -
The white screen is like that for more than 10 minutes.
Before restarting I closed everything and unchecked the restart window comment - which probably wast smart...

If you have got Mac OS X Leopard or Snow Leopard, you must use an external disc drive or another PC or Mac. Insert the Mac OS X DVD, press C key on boot and reinstall. If you have got Mountain Lion or Lion, press Command and R keys on boot and reinstall

Unable to print from recently purchased Macbook Air via wireless router (Linksys e1550) that is connected Windows XP which is connected to Lexmark x2650 printer.  Macbook Air is connected to wireless router and able to access internet.  Windows XP printer is set-up for sharing and I am able to see and add printer from Macbook Air.  I have installed Lexmark 2600 series driver on Macbook Air.  Macbook Air sends print job to print queue and print job is released from queue but does not print on Lexmark printer connected to XP.  Any suggestions?

Hi Wade, and Welcome to the dicussions.
I think it's how the PC is setup and interpreting the Mac's drivers, should just pass them on I think, but here's a way to get most any Mac to print to most any printer on an XP machine...

Unable to get my new Macbook Air to connect tmy existing wifi that uses Airport Express. It just timesout after about 5 seconds. My mew iphone connected straight away.

connect is in the eye of the beholder
connect can be the appletv being able to access the shared itunes lib of the macbook air if the macbook air's firewall is set to allow it and if itunes on the macbook air is set to share the itunes lib at all
connect can be the macbook air being able to use airplay to play music out of the appletv's speakers as one would an airplay express
or airplay mirror which mean displaying the macbook air's screen on the tv using appletv
