Cannot click on global settings

I am trying to watch mlbtv.  The video is doing the nasty green/pink disturbance like in the video for Evident Utensil.  I have typically associated this "static" with hardware acceleration.  When I have disabled hardware acceleration in the past, the problem goes away.  However, it appears that I cannot even test my hypothesis this time.  I can no longer click on the global settings when I right click on the video.  When i click on global settings, it simply opens up an Adobe web page explaining how global settings work.  It does not allow me to modify global settings.  I have tried to click on global settings now in a multitude of videos, and none actually take me to the global settings, they just open a new tab with the Adobe web page (which is extremely annoying because it tells me to get to the global display settings, all I have to do is right click on the video and proceed).  I am getting pretty frustrated.  Thanks for reading this.

Hardware Acceleration is part of the local Settings, not Global Settings.

  • Can't change Flash Player global settings

    Hello,
I've had this problem about a year now and have been searching all over the internet for the solution. Ive seen it come up many times but it never fixes my problem, so I decided to just start a thread.
    I have:
    -Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    -Firefox 6.0 64-bit
    -Flash Player version 10,3,183,5
Anyways, im sure youve heard of this before where you cannot change the global settings to allow webcam, mic, data storage or click allow and so on - and I have tried many things to no avail. I assume it is some problem with Windows 7 restricting its access and i figured maybe an update could help but it has still been the same for a year. I have two computers both with the same exact problem and I have tried everything suggested for this problem: delete "flash player" folders out of appdata, reinstalling, etc. but nothing has worked. Its been like this for a year and I cant deal with it anymore, any flash video or game that requires flash to store local data typically shows up as a black box or doesn't let me save my game. Please help me, this is extremely irritating.

I didn't even know that there was a 64-bit version of Firefox 6 - where did you find it?
Anyway, Flash Player 10.x does not run on 64-bit browsers.  So, in that light, how do you attempt to change the Global Settings, from the Control Panel applet, or via http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/se ttings_manager.htm ?
Sorry - I dont really know what firefox came in besides the version and since my computer is 64-bit I asssumed the program was too.
Also sorry for the late reply, Ive been doing school things lately.
    Anyways,
Another question: if you delete the Flash Player folders from %appdata%, are they recreated after using Flash Player?
Now that I look at it, I believe so. I just checked my appdata and saw the flash player folders are there, but they are always empty. If there was a recent update it may of been that, but they are there again. Could that have something to do with it?

  • Accessing Global Settings

    Hi,
I have Flashplayer 10.3, all is well.  My friend has 10.2 on XP.  She cannot access the Global Settings, so we can video chat.
    I see the instructions at:
    http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.htm l
Also, I have setup my 10.3 fine and dandy.  When we select Global Settings in her Flashplayer, she is sent to a webpage about Help.
How does one access this Global Settings menu in Flashplayer 10.2, please?
    Thanks,
    SHD

    Hi SHD,
Glad your FP 10.3 is working fine--now, let's see what we can do to help your friend. In terms of Flash Player settings, the main difference between Flash Player 10.2 and 10.3 is that 10.3 includes a new Settings Manager that you can access locally, from your computer's Control Panel (Windows) or through System Preferences (Mac).
This new 10.3 local Settings Manager simply provides an easier way to access and change the same Flash Player settings as those accessed through the web-based Settings Manager located here: http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager02.htm l.
The web-based Settings Manager that you see when you follow this link is not just a Help page--it is the actual Settings Manager, and your friend who is using FP 10.2 should be able to click the tabs to see different panels, and then change any settings required to allow video chat.
Note that there are a couple of differences in terminology between the web-based (10.2) and local (10.3) Settings Managers--the panels that are called "Privacy Settings" in the web-based version are called "Camera and Mic" in the local Settings Manager. The name is different, but the actual settings are the same.
    Hope this helps,

you're trying to delete a website from where?  your cache?  if so, clear your cache.
when you click on global settings you should see a popup.  if you have a popup blocker, that may be causing your problem.
in any case, here's where clicking global settings would lead:  http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager.html

  • Cannot click on settings and global settings in dialogue box

Google chrome updated to new flash player 10.3.184.14 now when I right click flash screen and get the dialogue box and click on settings or global settings nothing happens.. but if I refresh game or page sometimes or intermittently I do get the local settings box, but only once.. when it goes away I have to refresh page. and sometime it works sometimes not.. the same happens with the global settings....  I looked for Flash player in my control panel, but was not there.. I switched over to IE-8 and downloaded version 10.3.xxx.xx now have it in my control panel..  If I play games or view flash content in IE. I can right click screen and can always click settings or global settings and it works each time, no matter how many times I do it,, but in Google Chrome it does not... Am I doing something wrong, do I need to import from other browsers in GC why cant I access settings and global settings after right clicking flash screen in Google Chrome?????

Hi, I think your thread got pushed to the 2nd page.
In addition to Security updates in this 10.3.181.14, there is included a Flash Settings Panel Manager.
Users now have a simpler way to clear local storage from the browser settings interface – similar to how users clear their browser cookies today. Flash Player 10.3 integrates control of local storage with the browser’s privacy settings in Mozilla Firefox 4, Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 and higher, Google Chrome 11 (Available in Chrome Dev Channel), and a future release of Apple Safari.
When you open the Flash Player icon from the Control Panel, be sure to check each Tab (Storage, etc)
Also under the tab Storage you will find the info on Private Browsing, so be sure to read this info in case you use that.
My understanding of this new feature with Flash Player vs 10.3.181.14 can be used with the above listed browser versions.
Those not listed can use the Settings here: http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager.html

  • Page  "Administer - services - Global settings" not found!

    Hello,
we have one server with a strange problem. on the administer tab, the click on the 'global settings' option leads to an error :
"the page cannot be found " (HTTP 404 - File not found)"
is it easy to fix this problem ?
    Thanks

Hi, well all I can say is that it should not be that difficult. Go to this Adobe Test site and use each browser to test.
    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
When you post back the results, please do it this way.
IE     can you see the animation?       Yes or No     Flash Player version is_____________
FF    can you see the animation?       Yes or No     Flash Player version is_____________
Chrome        "                  "                      Yes or No     Flash Player version is_____________

  • OSB Global settings corrupt

When I create a simple proxy service containing only one report task I get the following error:
java.lang.IllegalStateException: com.bea.wli.config.component.NotFoundException: Validation failed for Operations System/Operator Settings/GlobalOperationalSettings: Referenced component (Operations System/Operator Settings/GlobalOperationalSettings) not found.
    at com.bea.wli.sb.resources.globaloperations.GlobalOperationsRepository.isDomainReportingEnabled(GlobalOperationsRepository.java:123)
    at stages.logging.runtime.ReportRuntimeStep.processMessage(ReportRuntimeStep.java:68)
When I did some research I found out the Global settings of the OSB are not working anymore. When I open that page in the OSB Console I get the same (kind of) error. Futhermore I found out that the file /apps/bea/domains/<MYDOMAIN>/osb/config/core/System/Operator Settings/GlobalOperationalSettings.xml was missing in my domain. But how did this happen?
Placing a copy of this file back does not seem to make any difference. It still cannot find anything.
A thing to notice is I have two OSBs (AdminServers) running on one Linux Machine. Both of them in a different domain with their own oracle XE Database Schema for reporting. One of the OSBs is working and one is not working. But I cannot think of a reason why this would cause a problem.
Does anyone know what to do?

    Hi there!
Add this to the import.py script
              operationMap = alsbImportPlan.getOperations()
              # We want to avoid to delete the GlobalOperationalSettings which the JAR packaged using the
              # ant tasks seem to automatically do.
              # So we go look for the 'System/Operator Settings/GlobalOperationalSettings' reference
              # in the operations map
              globalOp = findRefInOperationMap(operationMap, 'System/Operator Settings/GlobalOperationalSettings')
              if (globalOp != None):
print 'Removing delete operation on the GlobalOperationalSettings'
                   alsbImportPlan.removeOperation(globalOp)
    Just after
              # Getting the default import plan from the upload jar file
              alsbJarInfo = ALSBConfigurationMBean.getImportJarInfo()
              alsbImportPlan = alsbJarInfo.getDefaultImportPlan()

  • I have an older version of imovie.  After I change the photos using the Ken Burns effect and save them, the next time I open the file and click 'show photo settings' to change the zoom, the picture appears black and I can't change the zoom?

I have a five year old version of imovie that generally works fine.  However, when I add a photo using the 'Ken Burns' effect then save the movie, the next time I open the file and click 'show photo settings' the picture appears black and I cannot change the zoom.  Any suggestions?

Have you rendered both iOS 7 and iOS 8 (both of which will work on your iPhone 5) out of the question entirely without trying every possible configuration? The animations can be disabled entirely, if that's the problem. And if the whiter-brighter user interface is the problem, there's reverse-contrast modes that darken everything. You can expose accessibility controls to gain immediate access to these functions to toggle them on and off. I guess my point is you may have decided against upgrading the OS based on an early experience with iOS 7 when Apple has since made changes in later revisions to address some of the usability complaints.
Now, Apple's instructions for downloading older versions of apps is to do so from the Purchased list, not from the app's product page.
    See here:
Install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X - Apple Support
Let us know how that works for you.

  • Cannot click on sub-menus and notification prompts in Mircosoft Exchange when using Firefox.

When I access Microsoft Exchange web app from Firefox I've can no longer click on pop-up sub-menus and notifications that I could previous use.
For example, when I go to empty my deleted items folder and select empty folder, I get this notification (menu 1) that I now cannot click on. All I can do is just hit 'enter' to close the menus without actually making a yes/no input.
Similarly, when i go to move folders and get this pop-up menu (menu 2), I cannot make any selection, and the 'enter' to close method does not work. All I can do then is close the page.
I have tried disabling firefox's pop-up blocker but that did not rectify the issue. I can still use the sub-menus in other web browsers so this is a firefox specific problem.
Any help in identifying the cause and remedying this would be greatly appreciated.

  • Can't Click Flash Display Settings on Mac

    Hello All,
I need to Disable Hardware Acceleration in the Display Settings Dialog.  I right click, choose settings, but I cannot click anything.  Any Ideas?
I have checked out the the thread on "Unable to click in flash player settings box" but nothing worked for me.   I tried a uninstall then reinstall and still
nothing.  I can tab through the settings box but cannot uncheck check boxes.
    Please help
    thanks

On Windows this situation can usually be corrected by deleting the 'Flash Player' folders in %APPDATA%\Adobe and %APPDATA%\Macromedia.  I have no idea where these settings are kept on a Mac; someone posted that location a while ago, but I can't find that topic now (something "Library").
Just did another search and found it: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3232099#3232099

  • Cannot click items on the desktop

    Hello,
I've had an issue where I sometimes, just seemingly randomly, I cannot click folders, items, etc on the desktop. The click just will not register anything. I have some folder, files, and the "Macintosh HD" on my desktop and I cannot click anything. I have to force restart finder and then it will work again. The first time, I thought it was a fluke, but it has happened several times now and I don't know what's wrong.
On a related note, sometimes when saving files from Entourage to desktop, nothing will show on the desktop. It will just not show up. I can find it when looking in the ACTUAL desktop folder, but not on the desktop itself.
Has anyone experienced this before? Anything I can do? The desktop issue seems knew to .6, but the saving to desktop has happened since .4. Thanks!

I had the same issue today and while it was happening, I spent some time trying to figure out why this was occurring. It was a weird end to the reasoning behind it, which is prob. why most people had never experienced something like this.
First, the two issues of not being able to click the desktop and not seeing items saved to desktop from Entourage ended up being completely related.
As soon as the problem occurred, I immediately went to clicking around the desktop and noticed nothing worked. I clicked on Macintosh HD, Folders on my desktop, files, etc and nothing would work. Also, a few minutes prior, saving to desktop from Entourage did not work. It would not show up on desktop, but would show up when I looked at the files in the folder. I knew restarting Finder would make it work again, but I wanted to know why. I went ahead and remembered that I had an issue with my monitor after every restart where I would see screens double. To make it go away, I have to go into Monitor settings, change from 60hz refresh to 75, then back again. For some reason, I started leaving it at 75, so going back and forth 2 times total. I opened the Monitor settings and changed the refresh rate to 60. All of a sudden, the files that were not showing up, DID show up, and I was instantly able to click on all of my icons on the desktop and files. Weird, I know.
All I can say regarding this is that I was not able to click anything on the desktop, I couldn't save items to desktop from Entourage, until I changed the refresh rate. Files that were "not on" the desktop, suddenly were, after the blue screen came and went after changing refresh rates.
Anyway, that's my experience and I'm thankful I do not have this problem anymore.
