Cannot close my tab, everything run well but closing my tab

Suddenly I cannot close firefox tabs, I opened some tabs and click red X button but nothing happened. I can click menu, it run well, download, it run well, back button it works, bookmark button, it works. But one thing I can't do, it's closing tabs, all tabs.

You don't say what your version of Windows you have. Assuming XP, go to Start | Run, type DXDIAG and click OK. Click the Sound tab and run the tests to eliminate a hardware problem first of all. If you don't hear anything, check your cables first of all. Also make sure "Mute" isn't checkmarked in your sound setup. You'll find that in Windows Control Panel.
Which browser do you use? If you have Firefox 4, sign up to the HTML5 trial @ http://www.youtube.com/html5
HTML5 is the latest video standard and doesn't require Flash player. Google is in the process of converting all its files to work with the new format. It may solve you problem. If you don't have Firefox 4, you can get it from here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/
IE8 doesn't support HTML5.
To clean out your temp files, go to Start | Run, type: CLEANMGR and click OK. Click OK again to start the utility. Tick all the boxes except "Compress old files" because the latter takes too long, and then click OK. You can run this utility any time you wish by the way.
The above steps will hopefully fix your problem. If not, post here again please.

Cannot close multible tabs, system freezes and have to close firefox, but when i have multible tabs open ,cannot close individual tabs.

after Firefox is loaded and open ,I open another tab. I can view the site but when finished I cannot close the tab and if I open other tabs I cannot close them either when finished, I have to close Firefox and reopen Firefox. I checked all settings but still the problem exist. When I use internet explorer this problem does not appear, I can open multiple tabs and close each one separately, they do not freeze up like they do with Firefox. Help Please

Cannot close safari tabs

when i open tabs in safari i cannot close the tabs i can only close the entire window. what can i do to fix it? thanks

Are you trying to close the tabs by clicking on the little "X?"
Run repair permissions as a precaution.
Close Safari, trash the Safari preference file (com.apple.safari.plist), open Safari, and reenter your personal preferences.

I had this same problem for some time now. In another Mozilla Firefox forum page related to this search one user said to disable the add on "Invisible Hand". I did that and rebooted and have multiple pages open now with multiple tabs and I could shut down the first tab on all the open windows. I think the "Invisible Hand" add-on s the culprit, at least in my case.

Have you checked System Preferences -> Sound to see the Output when nothing is plugged in the headphone jack? Also, check if the headphone jack shows a faint read-light, which is the optical laser.

I cannot close a tab by clicking on the "x" - nor can I open a tab from the tab bar

On the tab bar, FF opens multiple "new tab" tabs. No matter what I do I cannot close these tabs, or any other tab, by clicking on the "x". Also, I cannot access these tabs by clicking on them.

Note that the X is a close button and that the new tab button is styled as a plus (+) sign.
You can find the New Tab button showing as a '+' on the Tab bar.<br />
You can open the Customize window and drag the New Tab button that shows as a plus sign (+) from the Tab bar on another toolbar and it will become a regular toolbar New Tab button.<br />
If you can't find the New Tab button then click the "Restore Default Set" button in the Customize window.<br />
If you want the New Tab button at the far right end of the Tab bar then place a flexible space to the left of it.<br />
You can check for problems with the localstore.rdf file.

Hello Kerrigaj,
After a re-install of OS X 10.5.8 uninstalled the E71 in iSync and moved it out of the bluetooth-device list first and completely re-installed it using the bluetooth manager (SystemPreferences/Hardware).
No extra thirdparty-software involved and ever since no problems.

Cannot close a tab

I have Firefox 3.6.12. In the last couple of days I have been having problems cosing tabs. I click on the cross on the tab but nothing happens. It only happens occasionaly on 1 tab. I can close other tabs in the session without a problem.
It is not specific to any particular website.
Clsoing Firefox and relaunching it seems to clear the problem.

I reinstalled 3.6.12 again today - and now I can close the first tab. Not sure if it is going to be messed up again. The other thing I noticed when the first tab is stuck is that it starts with session history also not working for that tab and back button quits working.

9iAS javac is running well but also want to compile Servlets

I have installed Oracle 9iAS on Windows NT4.I want to develop servlet & JSP
using Oracle 9iAS.
I have tried compiling my servlet in Command Prompt after setting up the
PATH for the JSDK & JDK shipped with 9iAS but i got the following error:
Package javax.servlet not found in import.
import javax.servlet.*;
^
Supperclass HttpServlet of class (my class) not found.
public class (my class) extends HttpServlet.
^
The home of my 9iAS is as,
e:\9ias_home & i found the JDK & JSDK folders as,
e:\9ias _home\Apache\Jdk
e:\9ias _home\Apache\Jsdk respectively.
Similarly when i tried to compile the servlets(given in 9iAS) i got the
same above error.(But Java's Application programs are running OK! and not
Servlet & JSP etc!)
I think that this problem is because of environmental variables etc.
but i have set the paths but did not succeeded.i have set the path of
JDK & JSDK using (Controll panel->System->) environment tab as
.;e:\9ias_home\apache\jdk;e:\9ias_home\apache\jdk\bin
;e:\9ias_home\apache\jdk\lib\tools.jar;e:\9ias_home\apache\jsdk
;e:\9ias_home\apache\jsdk\bin;e:\9ias_home\apache\jsdk\lib\jsdk.jar

To set up Tomcat, here's what I'd do.
1) Remove j2ee.jar from C:\JDK1.3\jre\lib\ext
That will cause more headaches than you can imagine.
2) Add servlet.jar to your classpath. Servlet.jar is located in lib under your tomcat directory. ( so, something like C:\jakarta-tomcat\lib\servlet.jar )
3) Make sure that you have your JAVA_HOME environment variable set to C:\JDK1.3. If this is not set up correctly then you will get the error: sun/tools/javac/Main not found...

AirPort Extreme 802.11n WiFi is blinking amber after changing from cable to DSL. Everything works well; but light used to be solid green.

I changed from cable to DSL yesterday. Technician connected the new modem and all is working excellently, except that the light on my AirPort Extreme which used to be a solid green, is now blinking amber. I know this is not right, yet everything else is working well. What's wrong and how can I fix it?

We need to do some troubleshooting to find out why the amber light is blinking, and to do that we need to know what operating system you are using on your Mac or PC.
If you have a Mac, and are not sure what operating system it is using, click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen, then click About This Mac. Post back with the OS X Version number that you see there.

I have an old iBook (circa 2002) ver 1.12, with 640KB ram, running OS X 10.2.8. It seems to be running well but we have moved to WPA authentication on our network and the iBook does not seem to be able to handle this.

Is there a patch, or updated version of OS X, that recognizes wpa authentication?

for the mac, me thinks that i am out of luck with updating the driver. on the epson site the most recent drivers for my printer (epson sytlus photo 820) are for OS X 10.1.3 - 10.2.6, and I am running OS X 10.2.8.
Hmmmm, I downloaded the driver anyway, and it gives me an APPLICATION LAUNCH FAILURE because of a "shared library error" when I try to launch the new drivers. The other thing on the site is a PIM II Plug In - which doesn't look like a driver to me.
