Cannot Close Tabs in Minefield That's Running Flash

Just wanted to report a bug I've been noticing. I'm using Minefield (64-bit) prerelease 4.0b7pre and when I have a tab open that has 64-bit flash running in it, I cannot close the tab anymore. I need to close the entire browser instead. This is repeatable regardless of the websites I visit, e.g. Stormpulse.com, Weather.com, Youtube.com.

Press apple shift and delete
If that does not work try this:
click on Finder in the lower left corner.
Then, in the top left corner click on the word finder
Scroll down to "Secure Empty Trash"
This will delete any file that may be open.

Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Test after each one and stop when the problem is solved. Back up all data before making any changes.
1. Quit and relaunch Safari. Force quit if necessary.

and confirm.

Otherwise, delete the item you moved. If possible, restore it from a backup that predates the problem.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

I new V5 cannot close tabs without opening a blank first, why?

Firefox 5 update installed 2 days ago. Now tabbed browsing opens new sites but I cannot access the x to close tabs until I open a blank tab after which the x appear in the other tabs. I do have colourful tabs installed.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Set the pref browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab to false on the about:config page to prevent closing the last tab from closing the browser and make a close button appear if only one tab is open.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
You can use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a pref more easily.

Cannot close tabs in Firefox 4 - only able to access 1st and last tab...nothing in between

As the title says... even if I hover over tabes between 1st and last tabes adn right click, 'close tab' still doesn't close

Cannot close tab groups. Close button fails even wtih empty window.

When I create tab groups, I cannot close them. The red X close tab group button does not work. I can resize, add or remove sites, even remove all sites. But I cannot get the close tab group button to function.

Cannot close tabs at all without closing the browser.

I'm not sure what happened but I woke up, loaded up Dark Souls, exited and somehow I was unable to close any of my tabs. Also when I tried to pin one of my tabs and unpinning it, it couldn't unpin. And yes, I did try to start the browser in safe mode, the tabs still wouldn't close.

Cannot close tabs as sites open, no 'X' in tabs. Each new site visited creates another, unclsable tab.

On all 4 betas, including RC, each time I visit a website, a new tab opens, which has no 'X' to close, thus it stays open until I close Firefox and restart. How do I close a tab to a visited site? It really clutters things.
Previous versions (3 series) have an 'X' which allows one to close an open tab. None of the betas or current RC have a close button.
Do I have to exit Firefox in order to get rid of a dozen unclosable tabs? Only way around I found so far is to disable tabs.

Mail I inherited an iMac, OS X 20.6.8. The Mail system is corrupted. I cannot close mail formats that opened to be written and sent. I just get an unpleasant noise when I try to close these. Also, I don't know what the outgoing mail link should be.

Quit Mail, Trash this file...
Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, test if things work OK in Safe Mode.
Then move these files to the Desktop for now...

PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.

I would like a LIST of devices that DO have Flash capabilities!

Anyone out there know how to get a list of devices that will run Flash Player? It would be so helpful since I use educational programs that need Flash and when kids ask me if the programs we are using will work on various devices, I am never quite sure. This would be SO helpful! Thanks.

The lines are getting kind of blurry, but when I think about mobile device, I'm thinking about stuff in the phone and tablet spectrum. There are some netbooks that run Flash Player, but if your budget is <$300, ChromeBooks are great bang for the buck.

Laptops are generally fine. If they're running Windows, MacOS or ChromeOS, then you're good. If it looks like a laptop, but it's running Android, that's not going to work. Things get a little weird in Windows 8 and higher. If you have a tablet that runs Windows 8 or higher, it's probably fine for Flash Player, but I'd recommend making sure that the sites you're going to depend on for school work with Internet Explorer 11 before making a big purchase.

Cannot close my tab, everything run well but closing my tab

Suddenly I cannot close firefox tabs, I opened some tabs and click red X button but nothing happened. I can click menu, it run well, download, it run well, back button it works, bookmark button, it works. But one thing I can't do, it's closing tabs, all tabs.

With multiple tabs open, I use to click File, close tab---now close tab is missing and I exit out of Firefox completely. How do I get that choice back "close tab" in the "File" drop down? Thanks. George C.

The drop down "FILE" in the tool bar use to have a choice to "CLOSE TAB". This is now missing so when I have multiple tabs open and I want to close the most recent, I cannot. I then get warned that I will be closing multiple numbers of tabs, but there is no other choice.

I have the same problem and tested it in Safe Mode, and did the disable the add-ons thing. Everything went OK, even up to the last add-on. There wasn't a hint of the problem anymore, so I went back to regular use of FF (3.6.12) again. WELL, THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN!!! I agree with the person who said that your supposed troubleshooting is B.S. You blame the user instead of saying something useful like "OK, we heard you (and over two dozen others) and we know it's not your doing, and it's OUR PROBLEM, and we're going to look into it and figure out how to fix it, AND we'll get back to you when we do and tell you how to fix it too." THAT's the kind of answer we FF users want to hear, not some claptrap about how WE the users didn't try hard enough to fix it on our own!

I have updated latest version 29.0 firefox in windows 7 machine. All the UI looks fine. Undo close tab is not working for me. Is that not been addressed?

You can do this via CTRL + SHIFT +T as well.
Can you try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if Firefox works properly with no error? You can start Firefox in Safe Mode below:

If Firefox opens up fine with no problems, it's probably one of your extensions that's causing the issue. You can re-enable your add-ons one by one until you find the one that causes the issue upon being re-enabled.
