Cannot color image after applying "Graphic Pen" effect.
I open a .dng file which was in greyscale. Then converted it to RGB. Applied the effect Graphic Pen. Added a new layer, fill it with red, changed mode to Overylay, and when I tried merging down, or saving as a jpeg, it converts the image right back to B&W. I even tried changing my brush to red and Overlay mode, it just won't let me color the image at all. I've tried hue/saturation, and when I try to save the adjustment, it converts right back to B&W. Any help? Here are some screen shots.

Hue/saturation has the same problem as overlay, but you can colorize the image checking colorize and by moving the saturation and lightness sliders to the right.
Did you try the different blending modes with a color fill layer?
It really depends on the effect you want.
For example you could set the foreground color in the toolbox to Red and the background color to White.
Then when you use the graphic pen filter the black pixels will be red and the white pixels white.
The colors for the sketch filters in the filter gallery are dependent on the colors you have set in the toolbox.
If you planning on using the image for the web, you could reduce the pixel dimensions of the image (Image>Image Size)
and then the overlay mode would work for colorizing the image if that's the effect you like.
The reason that works is that resizing introduces a little bit of blurring (for lack of a better word) around the edges.

Cannot start FIMSynchronizationService after applying ServicePack for SharePoint 2013 Server
Dear all,
Yesterday we have applied SP1 for SharePoint 2013 on our SharePoint Farm (1 one server + 1 db server). Unfortunately the FIMSynchronizationService (Forefront Identity Manager Synchronization Service) will not start anymore after applying the SP.
The SharePoint Services: User Profile Synchronisation Service and User Profile Service are started in Central Admin (can started /stopped without problems). Only the Windows Services FIMSynchronizationService cannot be started anymore.
What can be the cause of this problem?

2. run psconfig: Psconfig.exe -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -force -cmd applicationcontent -install -c
installfeatures
3. result: complaining about webconfig.accsrv.xml (removed this and tried again, then complaining about other web.config file)

No idea what to do? -
We are unable to process HL7 V2 messages after applying BizTalk 2010 CU 6 in a development environment when we have a BAM tracking profile deployed that references the BTAHL7 messaging payload schemas. The messages process with no issue if we remove the
message payload schema field mappings and use only message context properties. We have replicated this issue using only the default BTAHL7 pipelines and microsoft.com HL7 V2.3 unedited schemas and a very simple BAM activity and tracking
profile. In other words, we've eliminated our customization and still see the issue. The messages fail in the pipeline with the following error:
A pipeline component in the receive pipeline:<BTAHL72XReceivePipeline>,Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=75be5a91f43bf6c9" is using the message context
properties "BTS.MessageDestination" or "BTS.SuspendMessageOnRoutingFailure" in a unsupported fashion. The pipeline processing is being terminated.
Can anyone help us resolve this issue?

I would suggest you to uninstall CU6 first, restart the VM, Install CU7 and restart again.
CU 7 will have all the bug fixes for BizTalk 2010 till date.

Cannot resize images after CS5 and CC updates
I recently installed Photoshop CC and the CC app recently updated both my own CS6 and CC. I find that I now cannot resize images using the "image size" dialog. Any changes I try to make in dimension or resolution are ignored. Has anyone else encountered this problem, or does anyone have any info which will help me discover what I am doing wrong? Before, I simply entered the resolution and size I wanted for the image. Now I cannot .I have tried suggestion here: e.g., deleting pixels when cropping, etc., but nothing seems to work for me.

the CC app. Some CS6 updates were done before I joined the CC (the CS5 in
my problem subject-line was a type--should have been CS6), and one through
the cloud. CC, of course, was all updated through the cloud. Am I to
understand that CC would have done something to my owned, personal version
of CS5, which has the same problem?
Not an auspicious beginning with the cloud if complete
uninstalls/reinstalls are necessary right off the bat. I wonder how often
this type of problem will occur using the cloud, which obviously now
monitors my personal version of CS6, as well.

Cannot display images after updating SSL certificate
Hello All,
With the changes in SSL certificates (no support for .local domains in public certificates), I had to update the SSL certificate used for our Exchange 2010 Server. We are a small organization with a single server running Exchange Server 2010.
There were some articles about how to change the URL's within Exchange to use the public (not .local) domain names. We followed these instructions and now, when a user using Outlook sends an e-mail with an image embedded to other users in the domain,
they see a placeholder for the graphic with the text "The linked image cannot be displayed. The file may have been moved, renamed, or deleted. Verify that the link points to the correct file and location." . This is causing a great
deal of concern to the users and I cannot find anything on how to fix or even troubleshoot this issue. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Do you see the "page cannot be displayed" error only from your DC server or also from a Windows 7 client machine? What browser do you use and what version?
Please run “certutil –store” command from a command to verify that the certificate is correctly installed in the certificate store. Also run “certutil -store my” to check the certificate from CA.
If the certificate is already installed, please refer to below link to check the value of Cache in registry:

Extending the duration of a still image after applying scaling to it?
I have a still image that I am keyframing to scale down from 100% to 50% over its duration and at the end of the clip I move it to the upper left of the screen. After it moves to the upper left I want it to stay in that spot. What is the best way to do this?
I had my final keyframe on the last frame of the clip. Would I now somehow extend the length of the clip longer?
Thanks.I suggest Ann's workflow too, but if you have already applied Keyframes to the shorter Duration Still, then extend that Duration, you can then Move the Keyframes to the new Tail/Last Frame. Just remember that that operation will change the timing of the Keyframes by the change in Duration. If that is what you want, then nothing to worry about.
Also, if you have several Effects Keyframed, you can Select all of those Keyframes for each Effect, then drag them all to suit.

White border/line on a cut out image (after apply a plug-in)

This is so interesting.
I use ''knockout2, remask3'' for cutting and ''Imagenomic Portraite'' for retouching.
That never happened in CS4 32-bit.
Now i use CS6 64-bit and whenever i APPLY an effect/filter (include PS's Refine Edge) or plugin, there happens a strong white border/line on the image.
I can delete it by using so many ways like ''contract'' but it kills the details.
Can somebody tell me why is that happening?
This must be an option or something cuz it never happened in any other photoshops that i used.
I used the same plugins.It happens with even plug-ins or proper PS functions (like REFINE EDGE option).
Photoshop adds the (white) edge.
Because in that plug-ins or PS funtions there is no ''white edge/border'' in preview.
This happens after i apply those.
I checked out all the preference or anti-aliasing things, i tried to re-install the plugins or photoshop. I couldnt find any solution.

How do I remove the "normal state" image after applying a "rollover state" image?
I want to make a site similar to http://piecespeople.prosite.com/
But when I apply the rollover image, the original image doesn't vanish, so I can't see the words in my rollover image through the original image.
I've been able to do this effect with the previous version but now I can't.

But the fill drop down for the normal state is already clear (with red line). This is how it looks for instance. I want to clear the lightbulb in the rollover state so that I see the words behind it. -
How do I keep states active on a image after applying a tooltip?
Hi. I'm making a portfolio website and have a series of thumbnail images. I had set up the images to start at 50% opacity, and then become fully opaque as you roll over them. This worked great until I applied a tooltip over each image so I could surface text to describe each thumbnail. Once I had the tooltip working, I realized that my states no longer change on the thumbnail once you roll over them.
Does anyone know how to combine the two effects or have a workaround that could help me accomplish this? Also, the text sufaces off to the side, away from the thumbnail.
thanks!just found a workaround but if anyone has a better solution, please let me know.
workaround is to delete the original image and instead load that thumbnail image as the tooltip fill. from there you can adjust the opacity at different states and get the desired effect. -

You need to figure out what happened to WEB.XML and correct the problem (ie put it back where the JVM expects to find it). You may simply have a format problem which you should check by viewing the file (if it exists) in IE and ensuring it displays properly (IE will give an error if the xml is poorly formatted).

Screen goes black (dark) after applying a video effect
I've been trying to apply some fairy dust to part of a clip, and it works great in preview. But as soon as I "apply" it, the clip goes dark, so that when i play the movie the part where there should be a special effect is dark.
Any ideas?

I also observed this when using fxstabilizer - I just changed back.
moved my play-head one frame forward and cut cmd-T then applied
the stabilizer again and then it worked fine.

Cannot display image after jquery hover/image swap..?
Since upgrading to Firefox 13.0, once you hover over the thumbnails a few times.. the original/main image disappears and when I click on the link which has replaced the image, I get an error: The image cannot be displayed because it contains errors.
However, if I go to the page, open the image in a new tab *before* I start hovering over the thumbnails--the image appears just fine. Then I can hover over the thumbnails, the main image disappears and then I click on the link.. and I get the error.
I have examined both image paths and everything is exactly the same.
This happens on my Mac and Windows machine, but only in Firefox 13.0.
I have followed all the instructions found here:

Cannot download podcasts after applying latest Leopard security update
Last night I applied the latest security update to my Mac Mini, running the latest version of iTunes and Leopard. This morning I went to update my iTunes library with the latest podcasts. When I did the refresh, it started to download several podcasts, but then stopped them all with a message stating that I did not have the proper permissions. My iTunes library is on a fireware-connected DROBO that has approx. 1.5 TB free space. I have been using this configuration for over 2 months without problems.
You need to check permissions on the folder that holds your library. Navigate to your music folder, Get Info and make sure permissions are set to READ and WRITE. Then...make sure it's applied to ALL enclosed folders. (Click the Gear for the apply to all option.)
