Cannot compile C source code program

This below is my source code.
=====
main ()
printf(" Test");
=====
C compiler is Forte Develope 6 Update 2 . After I compile source by cc command . This below is output of C compling.
#/opt/SUNWspro/bin/cc -o /tmp/main /tmp/main.c
ld: fatal: library -lc: not found
ld: fatal: File processing errors. No output written to a.out.
Could you suggest how to fix this case?

You can also try the following to get an idea as to where your installed compiler is picking up various libraries:
#/opt/SUNWspro/bin/cc -# -## -o /tmp/main /tmp/main.c
You should see some output that looks like the following:
### Note: NLSPATH = /opt/SUNWspro/bin/../WS6U2/bin/../lib/locale/%L/LC_MESSAGES/%N.cat:/opt/SUNWspro/bin/../WS6U2/bin/../../lib/locale/%L/LC_MESSAGES/%N.cat
### command line files and options (expanded):
### /tmp/main.c -o /tmp/main
/opt/SUNWspro/bin/../WS6U2/bin/acomp -i /tmp/main.c -y-fbe -y/opt/SUNWspro/bin/../WS6U2/bin/fbe -y-xarch=generic -y-o -yt.o -y-s -y-verbose -y-xmemalign=4s -Qy -D__SunOS_5_8 -D__SUNPRO_C=0x530 -D__SVR4 -D__unix -D__sun -D__sparc -D__BUILTIN_VA_ARG_INCR -Xa -D__PRAGMA_REDEFINE_EXTNAME -Dunix -Dsun -Dsparc -D__RESTRICT -I/opt/SUNWspro/WS6U2/include/cc "-g/opt/SUNWspro/bin/../WS6U2/bin/cc -c " -D__SUN_PREFETCH
### Note: LD_LIBRARY_PATH = <null>
### Note: LD_RUN_PATH = <null>
/usr/ccs/bin/ld /opt/SUNWspro/WS6U2/lib/crti.o /opt/SUNWspro/WS6U2/lib/crt1.o /opt/SUNWspro/WS6U2/lib/values-xa.o -o /tmp/main /tmp/main.o -Y "P,/opt/SUNWspro/WS6U2/lib:/usr/ccs/lib:/usr/lib" -Qy -lc /opt/SUNWspro/WS6U2/lib/crtn.o
If the lines beginning with ### Note: LD_LIBRARY_PATH = and ### Note: LD_RUN_PATH = are set to something strange, that could be the cause of your problems. As another poster suggested, you'll want to unset those environment variables and recompile.
Example:
# unsetenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH
# unsetenv LD_RUN_PATH
or if you're running ksh
# unset LD_LIBRARY_PATH
# unset LD_RUN_PATH

  • How to compile the source code?

    Hello,
    I have got the source code and want to custom my nosql db.
    how can I compile the source code?
    thank you!

    You will have to apply some workarounds to achieve your goal, but they are not too bad.
    One problem is that the sources for the Admin Console web application are missing from the distribution. You can build a kvstore.jar that lacks the web application but is functional in every other way. If you need to have the web application in your build, we can discuss that separately.
    You will need to download the hadoop core jar file from http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/org/apache/hadoop/hadoop-core/0.20.2/hadoop-core-0.20.2.jar .
    Place it in the lib directory of the distribution.
    I've appended to this message a context-style diff to show the changes that are needed in build.xml. You can apply these changes by hand, or use a diff-applying program such as "patch". The diff is small -- only three lines are changed.
    With these changes in place, issue the command "ant jar", which should produce the file dist/lib/kvstore.jar. This jar file has dependencies such that it will not work correctly unless it resides in the same directory as the other jars in the distribution. Therefore you should move dist/lib/kvstore.jar to lib/kvstore.jar before you try to run with it.
    This is certainly harder than it needs to be. We'll consider making this easier to do in a future release.
    Let me know how it goes!

  • Can any solve this exception when compiling the source code

    when i compile the source code . i am getting the following exceptions

    looks like you're using java web start to run app. am i right? personally i don't have much expertise in this area but i've had to deal with it before, essentially what your problem looks to me is that the codebase in your jnlp file is set up wrong
    under my definition (vague) the codebase points to where java should look at to find your files and run them
    do a search and read more about running apps. through web start if that's your case

  • Error in compiling java source code in a package

    hi all...
    am having a problem in compiling a java source code:
    i have a class named 'Test' in the package 'packone'....
    i have another class named 'getTest' in the same package....
    in the class getTest i am taking a reference to Test class...
    on compiling i am getting the following error....
    cannot resolve symbol
    symbol : class Test
    The source code for the two classes are :
    package packone;
    public class Test{
    and
    package packone;
    public class getTest{
    public void me(){
         Test t = new Test();
    i have included the directory path in the classpath....
    still its not compiling .....
    please help
    thanks....

    Assume the current directory structure:
    C:\
    C:\packone...and that your classes are named Test & GetTest.
    My guess is that you're compiling within the directory C:\packone using the command "javac GetTest.java", which is wrong; You must use a path corresponding to the package-name.
    Move your command-line cursor to C:\ and type "javac packone\GetTest.java" and you'll be fine...

  • How to compile JMF source code

    Hello,
    Im working in an application which uses Java Media Framework to code/decode and transmit/receive the video and audio. I need to modify the h.263 codec in order to get an especial issue related to video.
    I download the source code of jmf I found in this topic: http://ohmydear.tistory.com/attachment/48fd0e73b49f9C0.zip. But I dont know how to compile the jmf in eclipse tool. Does anybody know?
    If anybody doesn't, would anybody know how to modify the coding and decoding of h.263 in JMF. I have no idea how to get that?
    Thanks a lot and best regards.

    If it's not just a straightforward build, then I doubt anyone has instructions on how to do it...

    [http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/desktop/media/jmf/2.1.1/formats.html]
    You'll see that for h.263, decryption is the only thing that's implemented in Java (the things that are in the windows pack but not in the cross platform pack are implemented in native code)... so if you're wanting to do h.263 encoding, you'll have to code that from the ground up...
    Read the following post for more information about writing your own codecs...

  • Unable to compile JAVAFX source code.

    Hi there,

    import javafx.stage.Stage;
    import javafx.scene.Scene;
    Stage {
    title : "MyApp"
    scene: Scene {
    width: 200

    2) cannot find symbol symbol : class Stage location: class secondjfx
    3) Multiple markers at this line
    - Invalid assignment
    - cannot find symbol symbol : class Scene location: class secondjfx.Scene$anon1
    etc. I install plug-ins successfully and path is also correctly set, still errors occurs,
    if any one knows the cause of error please inform me.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,

    Yes, I am able to open the JSP file in the NitroX editor. All of the tabs you reference above are present and functional. I don t know if this is meaningful or not, but I ve tried deploying the application as both an ear file and using WebLogic s Split Directory deployment technique. The results were the same in both cases (as described above).
    The ear file deployment has three components: A war file, an ejb jar file and an exploded APP-INF directory structure. The ejb jar file is pretty standard and the APP-INF directory structure contains mostly class files and jar files, not JSP files or anything weird. Architecturally, the application makes heavy use of struts.
    The deployed war file has the following directory structure:
    Meta-inf
    Resources
         --Common
         --Css
         --Customers
              ----Images
              ----Scripts
              ----Style
         --Images
         --Jsp
              ----Common
              ----Online
         --Scripts
         --Templates
         --XML
         --Web-inf
              ----Classes
                   ------Customers
                        --------Properties
              ----Lib
              ----Tlds
    The breakpointed JSP file resides in the resources/jsp/online directory. It contains relative references to components elsewhere in the structure. As described above, it all works fine in both a straight BEA deployment and in the NitroX run time environment. Set breakpoints are caught. It s the IDE functionality that I m struggling with once the breakpoint is caught.
    Are there any other diagnostics that I could capture and send your way? Just ask and I ll do what I can to accommodate. Much thanks.

  • Utilities to compile package source code and move into different instances

    Is there a native oracle utility that will take a source code for a package, compile it and then move it to a specific instances?

    The source for the current package is: \\PrimarySiteServer<FQDN>\SMS_PHC\Client
    To me, it looks like it's saying that it can't find the package at all, therefore no hash ID to evaluate.
    I dug around and found the following query under Monitoring: System Status, Status Message Queries, All Status Messages for a Specific Package at a Specific Site.
    After narrowing it to Package ID: PHC00002, it looks like around the time that it disappeared from all OSD TS, it started reporting the following:
    "Distribution Manager failed to process package "Configuration Manager Client Package" (package ID = PHC00002)."
    It would then retry, succeed, fail, retry, succeed, fail, etc. It did this for 24 hours before stopping all together.
    Here is the last entry, about 3 weeks ago: "Distribution Manager successfully processed package "" (package ID = PHC00002)."
    Since then it only evaluates the package on each DP every weekend on Saturday and it shows that it successfully verified each time.
    ...so it looks like its still stored on the DP's, but not otherwise available in the console.

  • How to compile jni source code include thirty-party library

    I use this command line to compile
    set JAVA_HOME=C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_06
    set C_HOME=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VC98
    set java_include=%JAVA_HOME%\include
    set win32=%JAVA_HOME%\include\win32
    set LIB=C:\Java
    set INCLUDE=C:\Java;%C_HOME%\include
    "%C_HOME%\bin\cl.exe" -I%java_include% -I%win32% -LD HelloWorldImp.c -Fehello.dll /link c:\thirty-party.lib

    you did direct compiling with linking.
    In order to obtain the not linked object you need to:
    gcc -l usb -c hello.c
    Finally you can link it to the binary as you did at hello:hello.o.

  • I cannot compile "C" source file on Mac OS X(10.8.2)

    Hi,
    I am trying to compile the C source filein terminal, using "cc" or "gcc" command. No luck.
    Later on, tried to ran the command, xcrun cc filename.c, the compiler gave an error about header files.

    I have tried with /bin/cc and /usr/bin/cc  and tried to find the "CC" command  or "gcc" command or "C++" or "g++" command in the directories. No luck!
    echo $PATH
    /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin
    I have checked the cc binaries in all of the above directories. No luck

  • Cannot disable SVG source code copying after update to Illustrator 18.1.0

    To get vector graphics into MS Word I just copy and paste the drawing. Until yesterday it worked fine.
    Since I've updated to Illustrator 18.1.0 today in the morning even if I turn off "Copy SVG code" in the preferences I only get the SVG code into MS Word and not the illustration.

    Hi Manuel,
    Thanks for reporting the issue. Yes there is some problem in honoring of on and off  of  "Copy SVG Code"  but the issue can be of word as well as it is working fine in excel and PowerPoint.
    When you right click and paste in Word only one option comes up i.e. "keep text only" whereas in excel and PowerPoint we have two options "Picture" and "keep text only".
    Meanwhile we look into issue, here is an easy workaround for you:-
    1) In the Home tab of MS Word click the clipboard fly out.
    2) It will list all the items you have copied.
    3) Click on any item to insert it.
    Thanks,
    Mohit

  • Dbx cannot locate the (DLM) source codes correctly for 64bit app

    It's hard for me to prepare a test case. Because it seems for a simple "hello world" it works.
    The reason I raise this issue here is because my project was recently upgraded to compile with 64bit. And since then dbx cannot locate the source codes correctly, especially for some DLM codes. (sometimes it shows to "/usr/include/iso/..." which it should never be!). While it works fine on a 32bit compiled mode.
    Did anyone experience the similar situation and can share your idea?
    Thanks in advance.

    Can't think of any good reason why going to 64 bit would confuse dbx (except for unknown bug in dbx, which is not impossible).
    I'd first look for changes in your build - for example, 32-bit code used to go to bin/ directory, but 64-bit goes to bin/sparcv9, which happens to be a symlink somewhere else or something like that. Symlinks might sometimes confuse dbx, please read
    (dbx) help finding-filestopic (in dbx console, type "help finding-files").
    Since you are using CC 5.9 that generates DWARF info by default, location and even presence of .o files is not important. All debug info should be in the shared library itself.
    Here's another idea: inspect DWARF info by hand and see if it looks correct to you.
    $ dwarfdump a.out | lessLook for
                    DW_AT_name                  a.ccand
                    DW_AT_comp_dir              /home/maxim/tempThose two should give location of source file (/home/maxim/temp/a.cc in my case). Maybe this will give you some clue.

  • Cannot see source code

    I have just installed Contribute CS4 and connected to my web
    site. When I "view" my home page it shows fine but when I click"
    Edit Page" I cannot see the source code. There is just nothing
    showing to edit. What am I doing wrong? Also when I finish editing
    this message I cannot find any button to save it!
    Thanks
    Dick Roose

    You can use any suitable html or plain text editor to edit
    the source code of pages through Contribute. On windows you can use
    f.i. Notepad. You just have to let Contribute know which program
    you want to use (main menu>edit>preferences>file
    editors).

  • Compiling IVI-C driver source code

    I'd like to make some fixes into source code of IVI-C driver 'cause I have found some SCPI-command bugs in there.
    What are main steps in compiling the source code, which library function I must include (VISA-library?)?.
    I'm using LabView 7.1 and the driver in question is agpsgmxg (source code file is agpsgmxg.c) which I have downloaded from NI's idnet.
    I have MS Visual Studio environment.

    In CVI you would use Ctrl+K for compiling and then you would re-create the DLL and replace or rename it the existing one that is in IVI/Bin or IVIFoundation/Bin. Can you send feeback to [email protected] mentioned with the bugs found in the driver?  So we can document and look into the issue?
