I cannot COMPLETELY download mac os x update combined 10.7.5 (size 2.06GB) to MacBook Pro MC 723LL/A after 8 hours plus dowloading? I suspected my internet speed is the basic one. How can I get around it? Thanks

Cannot open downloaded Mac OS 10.6.7

I downloaded Mac OS 10.67 tonight, a 498.9 Mb download, but when I try to open the .dmg file, a box opens which says "The following disk images couldn't be opened" and in the box, the software number and Reason: "Illegal Seek"
I rebooted my Mac to see if it would make any difference, but no luck.
Has anybody else had this problem? Is there a way to open this downloaded OS?

Typically means either the disc image file is corrupt or there's a problem with your hard drive. For the latter you can try the following:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

The apple store says the program is dowloaded, but it's not showing that when I look at the software update in the apple menu. I also am coming up with some incompatable software updates as a result. Any suggestions?

Your profile above indicates you are using OS X 10.5.6. This very old version of OS X cannot support Mavericks as shown here:

See if you meet the requirements for Mavericks shown in the above article.
Please explain the "incompatible software updates" above. I have a guess: It could be that iPhoto and iMovie show updates but require Mavericks be installed first. If that's true, then wait until Mavericks is installed before doing anything about the incompatible updates.
Also, if you think the Mavericks update did finish downloading and you do meet the Mavericks requirements, look in your Applications folder for a program called "Install OS X Mavericks". If you find it and have made a good backup of your system, execute it!

Can't download mac os 9 update

I need to upgrade my iMac DV (summer 2000) from mac os 9.0.4 to 9.1 and then 9.2.2 but from the Apple site all the download pages are "not found".

I downloaded OS X 10.7.4 update and my entire airport network became dreadfully slow and I need troubleshooting help. I've been using my iMac as a basestation and my ibooks could find it easily...not anymore...they can find it but the connection works very slow if not at all...

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

I can download Mac Os X Update combined 10.6.8, but when I restart to install the update, the message, "The update could not be expanded, and may have been corrupted during downloading.The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs" comes up. I'm using a MacBook btw. Please help me solve this, thank you!

I just downloaded the update on a PC I'm using at the moment and the size is 1,087,020,133 bytes. You can use "Get Info" to see the actual size of the file on your Mac. If it is the same size then it probably means that there is a problem with the update being applied to your Mac. If it isn't the same size, that doesn't necessarily mean you have a bad download. If it isn't the same size, try using Chrome, Firefox, and/or Opera to download the update.
BTW, Austin Kinsella might be really asking if you have enough free space for such a large download. And even if you do for the file, the update process will require some more while it is running and for the resulting, hopefully, 10.6.8 on your Mac.

The partition method worked after some trepidation. I got the spinning beach ball after partitioning and couldn't go further till I named the second partition. That may have done it. Right now, things seem to be working o.k. I'm updating a current iPhoto and will have to get a MS Word program that will function on the current OS and a current Quicken.
If necessary, can start up from the 10.6.8 system which I downloaded to an external HD before updating. I can always fall back on that. Also, I hope I don't get too many disconnects. Thank you for your help.

Hi I had to recover my SCCM media server from SQL and now having trouble to install Windows Update. When I deploy Windows Update, I can see status is "UKNOWEN".
I feel like something to do with WSUS/SQL/SCCM media server syncing issue.. But I can't point out that trouble setting to fix it. I have checked and make sure, there is no proxy setting in IE and SUP.
In the wsyscmgr.log is saying it is having syncing issue.

2. Run wsusutil reset
3. Run another sync
