Cannot configure hotmail account as an exchange

Althoug hotmail accounts work fine on my iphone and ipad, I still cannot configure it on my mac in the same way. In other words, I cannot see my folders and if I delete an email on my mac, it doesn't get deleted from my hotmail inbox.
help please

Hi all,
Since I have had multiple problems with push on my iPhone, I want to know if I can set up a normal Hotmail account as an Exchange account, since they don't have this problem with push.
Can somebody tell me if this is possible and how I do it?

How do i set up hotmail account on imac (exchange)?

Hi everyone, i am trying to set up my hotmail account on my imac os.x 10.5.
I want to select exchange instead of pop.
So can anyone help me fill out the outlook web access area? i believe the incoming mail server is pop3.live.com right?

Cannot Close Hotmail Account Linked to Verizon (with MSN Premium)

I've been given the run-around by Verizon when I asked how to de-link Verizon with MSN Premium from my Hotmail account. After several bad pieces of advice (like switching to Yahoo - which I did but it did not delink my Hotmail from Verizon) they suggested that I contact Hotmail. I posted this message in the Hotmail forums but no response. I want to close the e-mail account in question but Hotmail says I cannot because it is linked to another service. As far as I know Verizon is the only service associated with my Hotmail account.

Cannot open hotmail account

About 4 days ago I tried to go into hotmail account from Firefox and all it comes up with is garbage. I have updated and restore Firefox but it still does not work. It works in other search engines but pretty much I always use Firefox. Please tell me what to do to fix my hotmail account.

Cannot Check Hotmail Account

When I try to check my mail in my Hotmail account, Safari seems to get stuck in some kind of loop for a minute or two and then takes me to a page that says "Windows Live ID is not available from this computer" and the rest of the page is some old Hotmail page advertising 2 GB of space.
Is there a way to fix this or do I just have to give up using Safari to check Hotmail?

Most folders not updating from hotmail account

Recently installed Outlook 2013 as part of Office 2013 Pro.
Have tried to set it up with my hotmail account. Only the Inbox, Sent Mail and Deleted Items folders sync. The remaining folders do not sync and display the message "We didn't find anything to show here."
Can someone please explain! How is it possible that Outlook does not or cannot download all my hotmail messages?!

How did you configure your Hotmail account in Outlook 2013? Generally, we configure Hotmail account in Outlook 2013 via Exchange ActiveSync protocol. We should type the following server in the Mail server field:
m.hotmail.com
Please first make sure you have configured your account correctly in Outlook.
If you have configured your account correctly, please also make sure the "Mail to keep offline slider" is not set to a short period. To check this, click File > Account Settings > Account Settings > double-click your account and check
if the slider is set to 1 month. If so, change it to All to see the result.
Please let me know the result.

Hotmail and Gmail as Exchanges

Hi, I have configured hotmail and gmail as exchange accounts so to sync or use my google contacts on my iPhone 4S (5.1.1).
Latetly when I try sending emails using gmail they are being sent via hotmail exchange instead of m.google.com. I don't remember until when this was working but was working atleast before 5.1.1.
Currently I have my hotmail account disabled/inactive (by switching off mail) to make my gmail work as it should be.
Will appritiate your help in addressing this issue.
I have deleted both accounts and setup from scratch one after another and issue still remains

I had the same exact problem after updating to iOS 5.1.1. I called into Apple Care (2-3 hrs) and went to the Genius Bar (2hrs). They all claimed it was my fault for forwarding email accounts. One suggested solution was to restore and setup as new, yet the problem still occured after I let them restore the iPhone. Some how I believe in iOS 5.1.1 the active sync is messed up. Everyone instead of taking ownership of the problem all says it's Hotmail's issue or Gmail's issue. Why is it not Apple's issue who wrote the code for iOS 5.1.1? Prior to v5.1.1 they didn't have a Hotmail (Exchange) setup. It was setup via smtp/mapi. The simple reboot inbetween adding/removing accounts works. (IMHO, this sounds like an Apple iOS issue to me.)

Hotmail account not syncing properly

My hotmail account is not syncing properly with my iPhone - only the inbox folder is accessible and my calendar is not syncing with my iPad. Suggestions??

To be quite honest, I have no idea if I created my Hotmail account as an Exchange account (and unsure how to check on this!) However, I can tell you that my Hotmail inbox continues to update on my iPhone as I receive new emails. I'm just not seeing the other folders (i.e. Junk folder and the personalized folders I've created). Also, my calendar was previously working well. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what has happend to change this. Thanks for your response!

When i configure the POP account on Outlook 2010 is giving the error message
"Send test e-mail message: Cannot send the message. Verify the e-mail address in your account properties. The server responded: 550 5.7.1 Client does not have permissions to submit to this server"

The OP says users can't send mail. POP is not used to send mail.
I strongly recommend you have users reconfigure their clients to send using port 587. This has been the default configuration since the introduction of Exchange 2007. You can modify the default receive connector, or add another receive connector
to allow clients to connect and authenticate if you want, but when you do so, you will risk causing message mail flow to fail.
I am not going to try to tell you how to do it precisely because I don't want to be a party to you messing up your mail flow. Here's more documentation on receive connectors from TechNet.

I have an IPHONE 4s with IOS 8.1.2.
I can´t configure my HOTMAIL account: it only receives email, but doesn´t send it.
I have tried to add the account as Exchange, as Outlook and as OTHERS, and the result is the same.
Can somebody help me with that?

HT1694 cannot add my hotmail account on to my ipad keeps saying unable to verify account

Can anyone please help me. I cannot open my hotmail account on my ipad. I have gone into settings and followed the relevent steps. It keeps coming up unable to verify account. What can I do, any help would be appreciated.
