Cannot connect any of my Apple devices to iTunes.

Hi All
I cannot connect any of my Apple devices to iTunes. Initially after connecting the device I would receive an unable to sync error, but I have since reinstalled iTunes and when I connect either my iPhone (I have an iPhone 5 and an iPhone5s, both of which happily connected in the past) or iPad mini, iTunes does not even see the devices (the devices are listed under preferences).
My iOS is up to date on all devices and I have tried different USB ports and cables, but no difference.
I am running WIndows 8 with all updates to date. I have Vipre Security, but turning off the firewall makes no difference and I can see that all Apple connections are available and not blocked. I have checked Apple Mobile Device and stopped and started services
I haven't been able to connect for almost a month now, so would appreciate some help.
I have already contacted support and was given information on how to check my WifI connection - not particularly useful!
DJ

but I have since reinstalled iTunes
Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

  • After update iTunes to the version 11.2.2(3) on MacBook Pro I cannot connect any apple device. iTunes is "hanging". do U have the same problems?

after updat iTunes to the 11.2.2(3) ver I cannot connect any device iTunes after connect device (iPad3, IP5S) is hanging.. and I have to force iTunes to close. do U have the same problems?

    Hey there Michal115,
It sounds like you are unable to connect your iOS devices without it becoming unresponsive. That would frustrate me too. I would use the following article about that very issue to help you resolve that:
iTunes: May become unresponsive when connecting iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3219
Start with these 3 steps to make sure the other devices are up to date as well, and there is additional troubleshooting to be done in the article if needed:
Install any available software updates for your computer.
For Mac OS X: Click the Apple () menu, choose Software Update, and follow the on-screen instructions.
For Windows: Refer to the documentation for your computer for instructions on using Windows Update to update your computer.
Update iTunes to the latest version.
For Mac OS X: Click the Apple () menu, choose Software Update, and follow the on-screen instructions. You can also download iTunes from the Apple website.
For Windows: Use Apple Software Update, or download iTunes from the Apple website.
    Test with automatic syncing disabled.
For Mac OS X: Click the iTunes menu and choose Preferences. Click the Devices tab and place a check next to option to "Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically." Click OK.
For Windows: Click the Edit menu and choose Preferences. Click the Devices tab and place a check next to option to "Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically." Click OK.
Reconnect your device and test to see if the issue still occurs. If your device is recognized successfully, you may be able to isolate which type of data is causing the issue. Do this by deselecting all syncing options under each of the syncing tabs and then sync. After that, re-enable your sync options one at a time until the issue returns.
Note: If the issue only occurs when syncing data from the Info tab is enabled (For example: Contact, Calendar, Mail account or Bookmark syncing), reset the Sync History (for Mac OS X instructions see this article, for Windows see this article).
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

    Hey X300X,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues with iMessages. The following article may help to resolve your issue:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Messages

You may also want to reset your network settings:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: this will delete any network related settings (saved Wi-Fi passwords, etc), it will not erase any content from your device.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • IMac cannot detect ANY usb mass storage device.

iMac Core 2 Duo (White) cannot detect ANY usb mass storage device including iPod. Only Mice and Keyboards work via usb. Any solutions? OS X shows absolutely nothing when any usb device is connected.

Try resetting the PRAM. Hold down Option-Cmd--P-R together at the startup chime. Wait for two more chimes, total three, then let go to finish booting.
Try an SMC Reset. Shutdown, unplug from power, wait ten minutes, still unplugged, hold power button in for five seconds. Reconnect to power.
Run the Hardware Test in extended.

Tried a different USB port, tried a different device besides the iPod?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

  • My Yahoo Mail is not Working on any of my Apple devices,  It attempts to download new email but then stops.  Any ideas?

My Yahoo Mail is not Working on any of my Apple devices,  It attempts to download new email but then stops.  Any ideas?

I, too, am having a problem with my Yahoo email account on my first generation IPad. I can't download my emails to my IPad from the server. The IPad looks like it's trying to download them but can't do it. I am able to send emails from my IPad with my Yahoo account.
This problem started yesterday, Aug., 25th, the day after I uploaded the last update from Apple. I am able to set up another email account through Sbcglobal that will download my emails to my IPad but it is not sync'ed with my desktop mail which creates a mess when I move or delete emails.
I've tried deleting my Yahoo account and then adding it back. Also I've reset my IPad and I've done a full restore.
I think it has something to do with the last update, which I believe was a security update, which may have reset the firewall. That's just a guess.
Has anyone figures out anything else?

  • My yahoo mail is not syncing to any of my apple devices

My yahoo mail is not syncing to any of my apple devices. They have all be in use for some time and just stopped overnight. Any suggestions as to how to resolve?

It could be something that yahoo has done in their perpetual 'improvements'. Beyond removing and readding your info there's not much you can do but wait it out. If Yahoo has broken it, yahoo has to fix it.
In the past I've accessed my yahoo via mobile safari and I believe they also have their own mail app, you may want to explore those as a work around until it resolves.

How do I put music on my apple device on itunes 11? I watched he tutorials and it says to click the "add to" button, but mine is missing. HELP!!

  • I cannot connect any Apple device to my business network.  iPhone or iPad

Several employees and the owner of the company have iPhones and iPads but not one single person can connect any of them to my Wi-Fi network.  All Android devices and all laptops (we do not have any Macs) can connect just fine.  What are we doing wrong??

What do you mean by "what kind of wifi?"
    I have a Cisco 1710 router
Its an open network so no wep/wpa.
how do I find out if I am using Mac Filtering?
Yes I do broadcast the SSID and the devices pick it up just fine but when I try to join it simply says "unable to connect to west101."
Unfortunately I am totally illiterate when it comes to networking.  I work for a small company with 4 branches and about 30 employees.  We have extremely poor IT support that is bundled into a licensing agreement with our software provider.  We cannot afford outside IT help and they fired the guy who did have some IT knowledge.  Now I am the "IT liasion"  (hahahahaha  what a joke).  Should I start by reading "Networking for Dummies" or do you know of a better book/website to start with?

  • Is there any way to connect via Bluetooth an apple device to a Samsung device????

Can I connect an apple device via Bluetooth to an Samsung device (no jailbreak)???

It may depend on exactly what you mean by "connect". See this support document iOS: Supported Bluetooth profiles. My understanding is that iOS doesn't support file or contact sharing over Bluetooth.
