Cannot connect iphone

Since the 10.3.1 iTunes upgrade I cannot connect my iphone 4 or my 3G to iTunes.  How do I get back to an older version of iTunes?

Thanks to recmd for directing me to the solution for iTunes not "seeing" my iPhone!!
https://discussions.apple.com/message/11761418?messageID=11761418is the link, but I will recap it here:
Win XP machines that are seeing the iPhone as a camera or portable drive, but not showing in iTunes should do this - takes 5 minutes!!
Connect iPhone
Open Control Panel
double click on System
choose Hardware tab
click Device Manager
find iPhone - probably under Imaging Devices
right click iPhone
choose Properties
click driver tab
choose Update Driver
select "Install from list or specific location" and click Next
choose "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install" and click next
there should be 2 drivers listed; highlight Apple Mobile Device driver
click ok
iPhone should now connect
close out of Device Manager and Control Panel
open iTunes and see your iPhone appear!!
You may have to do this with all phones that you sync.
Hope this helps - it worked for the phones in our family!

i can get all my BT Yahoo mail no problem on internet.
BUT now i cannot get any mail on my iphone using the mail App.
it worked perfect until i updated to ios6

IT SAYS "Cannot connect to the server"
Please some one help me solve this problem.
    Kind Regards

I was also having lots of issues over the last two days, but found an easy fix...
    1) Go to Settings
    2) Mail, Contacts, Calendars
    3) Choose your Yahoo account
    4) Hit your Account name at the top
    5) Check you password... my password was not right -- don't know if it was remembered as an old one or if it was just dorked up altogether, but I corrected it and now everything is fine.
    Good luck

  • Macbook Pro cannot connect iPhone 3Gs

I'm in Turkey and my carrier supports internet tethering. I tried to connect my iPhone to my MBP via bluetooth. Pairing is successful but when i click "connect" on my MBP, nothing happens. Or I tap my Macbook's name on my iPhone there was this message "... macbook pro is not supported" and iphone forgets device... Is there a solution about this problem?

oh, I'm sorry about the previous information as it was wrong. If you're getting this error, that means that your model of MBP does not support bluetooth tethering. I would suggest trying to tether through wifi as that may result in a better, supported connection.
What model MBP do you have. this is very important information when you are posting about your issues.

  • CANNOT CONNECT iPhone/iPod touch to WIRELESS INTERNET wi-fi - (TTLS vs WEP)

Hi. I bought the iPod touch on the day it came out; took it home, it all worked fine.
At home i have a wireless router, and it supports the WEP format. so my iPod connects to the internet perfectly.
the day i took it to school was the day I got very disappointed at Apple.
My school, Concordia University, supports only the TTLS format, because it provides better security. But not the iPod touch, nor the iPhone support TTLS, they only work with WEP!
So naturally, i'm not able to connect to the internet using my iPod, and i found out everybody else who has an iPhone has the same problem.
what's even more surprising is that most of the hotspots (95% of them) downtown also work only with TTLS. apparently it's a newer technology. You can imagine how frustrated i was when i was unable to use my iPod touch for one of it's main functionalities.
So why doesn't the iPhone or the iPod touch support this ????
it's such a simple and necessary function, and yet they decided not to put it on ...
So I ask Apple to include TTLS support in the next iPod/iPhone software update.
And everybody else who owns an iPod touch / iPhone should also let Apple know of this serious lacking in their firmware.

Ya i have to admit, i'm very disappointed right now. I'm really close to getting n iPod Touch but because of this situation, their's no way in **** i'll be spending that money without it working at my university (Concordia).
This is not an admin problem at my university. They're using a protocol (like many others) to protect their users from crooks and such. Doesn't it make sense to think that the majority of iPod users, go to school? Of course it does. I don't get how this "authentication" was dropped easily like this.
Unfortunately, Montreal is infested with TTLS format (which the OP has already mentioned) and that blows at the fact that iPT doesn't support it.
All students are crying out to Apple right now because of this, Guys! Make it happen, please!

  • Cannot connect iPhone, iPhone not detected

    Hello,
I have looked at many post regarding this question but none of them really helped so far.
My iPhone is not longer recognized by iTunes or iPhoto.
My iMac runs with Os 10.7.4
My iPhone runs in V 5.1.1
    iTunes is in V 10.6.3
    iPhonto is in V 9.3.2 iPhoto '11
I have tried to restart my iPhone twice, didn't change anything
I have tried to restart my computer, didn't change anything
I have looked at re-installing iTunes but the firt step which consists in deleting iTunes doesn't work as it says that iTunes is needed by iOs to operate.
    Thanks for your kind help

Yes, I actually found what the problem was. Because of the need for more power to the new iPhone/iPad, the external USB hub no longer provide enough power and iPhone/iPad is no longer detected. Connecting to one of the iMac embedded USB solved the issue. Too bad that even active USB hub no longer work now.

  • Cannot connect iPhone 4 (iOS5) to Netgear N600 (WNDR3400)

I have a WNDR3400 router. Connected to this are three different access points/switches (big house and a lot of devices).
My (2) new iPhone 4's that I upgraded out of the box to iOS 5 on Saturday will not connect to this router at all. Neither will 2009 Macbook Pro (OS X Lion), and a 2nd Gen iPhone (iOS 3.1.3).
The router is fine, connected to it are 2 Dell Win 7 laptops (2.4/5Ghz),  2nd Gen Touch (iOS 4.2.1). 3rd Gen Touch (iOS 5), and a Wii (wireless 'g'). ALL of these work flawlessly. All of these devices also can connect to the access point in my man cave if they venture too far from the family room. Everything else is wired, so of no concern. Each MAC address on my network also has a static IP address assigned, easier to watch for intruders this way with this much activity.
So the iPhone 4's will connect to the Belkin b/g access point in my family roomor the 'b/g/n' access point in my man cave. But we are not usually around that one, so the iPhones will NOT connect to the WNDR3400. I have done the following troubleshooting steps:
Reset router, reset iPhones and Mac. Can't use 'Forget Network' because it won't connect at all anyway.
I removed ALL security settings, nada.
    I changed the SSID, nada.
Disabled 5Ghz (I don't know why), but nada.
Tried with WMM on and off, nada.
Set up QoS setting the iPhones MAC addresses at varying levels of priority, nada.
Went through all channels 1-11, nada.
Set wireless modes to 54, 145, and 300 Mbps, nada.
I've tried the following security modes:
    None
    WEP
    WPA-PSK [TKIP]
    WPA2-PSK [AES] My normal setting
    WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]
    NADA!!!
I am fairly savvy at getting devices to play nice with eachother and my network was working great so everyone.
The Mac and old iPhone are my son's toys, I tried to connect his Pro while running Win 7 and still having the same problems.
Please help all you Mactacular people!

I know this is an old thread but I've been struggling w/ this problem for some time and haven't found a viable solution to the problem anywhere on the internet.
However, assigning a static IP to my iPhone 5 (iOS 7.0.2) in the router and on the phone seems to prevent it from constantly being dropped (so far, approx 4 hours).
I will be doing the same w/ a 3Gs and 4s for a couple other users and will report if their outcomes are different.
Hopefully this helps anybody who is still searching for a solution to this problem.

  • HT4528 I cannot connect iPhone 5 bluetooth w/ my Philips Shoqbox

I have a Phillips Shoqbox to play my Pandora through and I connected it once three days ago but can no longer connect it.  It says to turn the device on and put in in range.  Anyone having issues??

    What you need
To share content with AirDrop, both users need one of these devices using iOS 7:
    iPhone 5 or later
    iPad (4th generation)
    iPad mini
    iPod touch (5th generation)
You also need to turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. And if you want to share with your contacts, sign in to your iCloud account.
You can't use AirDrop on iOS to share with OS X users, and OS X users can't use AirDrop to share  with  iOS devices.

  • Cannot connect iphone 5 to Parrot, battery is terrible and volumes are low? Anyone else got the same issues?

so these seem to be my issues with the phone so far. no matter what i try with my Parrot handsfree the phone will not connect. The general volumes of the phone seem lower than the iphone4, especially when using the new earphones. And i cant say im that impressed with the battery life. Today i made 2 phone calls, updated a facebook status and listened to one album on spotify, this resulting in a pretty much dead battery? doesnt seem right to me considering apple advertised the battery life being able to handle many hours of youtube streaming over 3G?

Ok, this is good info. It means that right now Apache is not able to serve content outside of your machine. That's why even the native browser can't see your site. Once we get that problem solved you should be able to see the site in Edge Inspect as well.
    Here's some things to try:
This might be because your firewall is blocking port 8888. Try turning off your firewall temporarily and see if http://192.168.2.4:8888/yogaFest2013/  works from the native browser on your device
Open a terminal window and type in the following: netstat -an | grep "LISTEN" and let me know what it says
Open your httpd.conf file and look for a section like this:
    # Listen: Allows you to bind Apache to specific IP addresses and/or
    # ports, instead of the default. See also the <VirtualHost>
    # directive.
    # Change this to Listen on specific IP addresses as shown below to
    # prevent Apache from glomming onto all bound IP addresses.
    Listen 80
Let me know what your's looks like.

  • Cannot Connect iPhone 5 to iMac

    Hello,
I have spent the past hour reading up on common issues that can cause this
I have turned off my firewall and forwarded port 7682.
Both my devices are on the same network and have connected to each other in the past.
Although the connection never seemed strong.
If there is any other information I can provide please let me know.
Thanks in advance for the help.
