Cannot connect iPhoto with fotostream, Cannot connect iPhoto with fotostream

What can be the reason?

HI JOEL PREZ
I connect like SCOTT, SYSDBA AND OTHER USERS TO THE DATABASE
CERTAINLY, I DISCONNECT THE SYSMAN USER FROM THE THE DBA STUDIO SESSION USERS.
THE DATABASE HAS A PASSWORD, I ASSUME, YOU REFER TO PASSWORDFILE TO A PATH PROFILE DATABASE.
I JUST WANT CONNECT TO THE DATABASE LIKE SYSMAN IN THE SERVER, NOT LIKE CLIENT.
[i]CAN YOU HELP ME TO CONNECT TO THE DATA BASE FROM OEM CONSOLE?.
THE WIZARD FOR A NEW NODE DOESN'T HELP ME.
THE PROFILE TNSNAMES IS OK.

Try this:  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. It the problem persists  make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
If the new library does'nt have that problem then your original library is damaged. Post back if that's the case and we'll go from there.

    1) You asked "Does she need to reconnect to that itunes/computer and if so what do we need to do to remove this folder of pics from her ipod?" Yes, you have to connect the iPod to that computer and go to the Photos pane for the iPod in iTunes and uncheck sync photos and the click on synce/apply. In the future do not check sync photos.
iOS and iPod: Syncing photos using iTunes
    2)
Create a NEW account for using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Then on the iPod go to
    - Settings>Messages>Send and receive and sign out your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that only her ID email address is listed.
    - Settings>FaceTime sign out of your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that under You can be reached at only her ID email address is listed
    - Settings>iCloud and sign out and sign in with hers
Contnue to use the commpn ID/account for Settings>iTunes and App stores.

    Howdy AndieKanaras,
It sounds like your iPhone is being recognized everywhere but in iTunes. I would use the troubleshooting for that issue in the following article, named:
If you don't see your connected device in iTunes for Mac
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I cannot find the video that I added to the iPad. I looked in iPhoto and the camera roll. Any ideas? (BTW, this is a video which I previously had on the iPad but deleted and now I want to add it back.)

Thanks for your reply. I looked in the Video app but it is empty. When I connect the iPad to iTunes on the iMac and look in  Apps > File Sharing > iPhoto, the video that I added is in iPhoto on the iPad but I cannot actually find the video in iPhoto on the iPad.

  • Since upgrading to Maverick I cannot send/share photos through iPhoto. Dropbox says "not connected to server". All other online email activities work just fine.

Since upgrading to Maverick I cannot send photos while in iPhoto.  Dropbox says I am not connected to server.
All other internet email activities work just fine.

And again why do you think Dropbox is involved in any way?  There is no connection of any sort between iPhoto and Dropbox
THis sounds like you either need to (my personal suggestion) change your email client to Mail in the iPhoto preferenceemail if you want to use the iPhoto client under the accounts tab delete your account and re-enter it

  • I also cannot access part of the App Store, I have been trying to down load a magazine app, it has been trying to connect but it has been taking a long time. Also since I did my last update I have lost the ability to face time, I also cannot open iPhoto's

Since my last update on the newest version iPad I have not been able to download a magazine app that I have a subscription for as well I cannot open iPhoto's or video. When I go into settings and go down to where iTunes Mail etc are it freezes my I pad and I cannot access these. Is there a apple system problem? This has been going on for over a week now.

For FaceTime try the troubleshooting advice given here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3367
    Also try resetting your iPad:
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
    No data will be lost.

  • Cannot email from iPhoto: internet not connected message

I am using the latest version of iPhoto and also have just upgraded to Yosemite, though this problem has existed forever and I am just now at my limit of tolerance.
I get a message that says my internet is not connected or working properly; completely false btw.  I have tried deleting my accounts in iPhoto and reinstalling them to no avail.
    What do I do?

I could have sworn that I had chosen the options you suggested in the first place.  I did change to select Mail as the app and after your message, I tried once again to select iPhoto as the email app and yes, my iCloud account was at the top of the account list in iPhoto.  This time the email from iPhoto worked perfectly.
As they say in NYC..."Go figure"
    Thanks for the help

  • TS1501 Image Capture does not launch when I connect my iPhone to my iMac and open iPhoto. No "Prefernces" is offered under Image Capture.  I cannot import photos to iPhoto.

Can't import photos from iPhone to iPhoto.  Image Capture does not launch when iPhone is connected to my iMac and iPhoto is open.  There is no "Preferences" option offered to click when in Image Capture.

This helped me. It is advice I found from a user named Carlosmara. First make sure iPhoto is closed and your iPhone is not connected. Then, as Carlosmara stated in his post,
"Go to your Library/preferences and delete the file com.apple.iPhoto.plist
IPhoto should recognized the iPhone again."
The file in question is under your user folder.
I then restarted my mac and plugged in the iPhone so that it would sync. After the sync, when I opened iPhoto, my iPhone was recognized and I could download the photos perfectly.
Hopefully this will help you as it helped me

  • Cannot connect iphoto '08 to new Epson printer

I recently bought a new Epson DX8400 printer replacing the old HP printer but when I try to print photos from iphoto it still looks to print using the old HP printer. I loaded the setup CD without any problem restarted the Mac all seemed fine until I tried to print any photos, there is a print manager for the Epson but it does not see the iphoto program.
Please help before my wife and children ask to see the great quality photographs I promised with my new printer!
    Thanks Peter

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Go into the System/Print and Fax preference pane and remove the HP printer from the list of available printers in the small window. Make sure the Epson is listed i the window. If not click on the "+" button and select your Epson model in the windows that come up. Reboot and try again.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • I am getting this error in iPhoto; The volume for "PICT0078.jpg" cannot be found. Insert the disk or connect to the server volume and wait for it to appear on the desktop, then try again. I have a managed account.

It indicates the file for the photo is missing, which may be related to the fact I had to restore my computer recently but I can't get rid of the warning, by the options, cancel, ok, or find photo. I don't know where they have gone, or where to search, other than Finder, which does not list them. They are not that important to me but Ido not know which photos the warnings are about, if I did I could go into the event and delete them.

do you have a default "managed" library (the iPhoto preference to "copy imported items to the iPhoto library is in its checked state) or a referenced library (you have choosen to uncheck that option and manage tthe original photos yourself - strongly not recommended)

    This happens
    1. when you run a Referenced Library - where the files are not copied to the iPhoto Library on import - that means you chose to do the File Management.
    2. The files are stoed on another disk (or volume)
    3. iPhoto can't find that disk (or volume)
So, the solution is to plug in the disk so that iPhoto can access it.
If you don't have the disk, or the photos concerned, then you have a corrupted Library.
How to proceed from there depends on the actual version of iPhoto you use.
BTW you do know exactly what photos are missing - the message tells you. But I think you'll find that iPhoto needs the file in order to delete it.

  • Iphoto has lost connection with its folder

    Hello,
One day I turned on my mac, opened iPhoto and found it empty. I've read various threads and know not to be alarmed as I can see the folder of my pics is still there.
I am however having trouble re-connecting iPhoto to this folder. In the past iPhoto has sorted the folder into numerous sub-folders accredited to the year in which the photos were taken. I cannot connect to the main folder that will include these sub-folders. It always wants me to connect iphoto to a folder with only pics in and not a folder with other folders inside.
Am I going to have to go through the laborious business of moving all my photos into a single folder that will then communiacate with iphoto?
    Thanks.

See if you can rebuild your library with iPhoto Library Manager 3.
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download IPhoto Library Manager 4 for OS XC 10.6.8 and iPhoto  8.1.2 and later  or iPhoto Library Manager 3 (for OS X 10.5.8 and iPhoto 7.1.5 and earlier) and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu (iPLM 3) or Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu (iPLM 4) option.
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
