Cannot connect Ipod to Itunes, error messages

I just unpacked my brand new Ipod Touch 16 Gb, in version 1.1.2.
I have the most serious problems to get a reliable connection to ITunes. In 1 case out of 20 it works, but usually I get a couple of error messages:
a) itunes could not connect to Iphone because error while reading from device
b) Itunes could not connect to Iphone because unknown error 0xE8000001.
after 2 hours I managed to upgrade to version 1.1.3., managed to sync a few songs, but now connections are impossible, with above error messages.

have you tried unplugging all usb devices, including any usb hubs? Plug ipod directly into usb 2 port and try again.

I have just purchased my first iPod and I am trying to install it onto Windows XP.
iTunes tells me that there is a new update. After it downloads this update it tells me 'Updating Kathryn's iPod' followed by an error message of 'The iPod could not be updated. An unknown error occurred (1417).'
Accordingly, I am not able to sync any of my music with my ipod (my music is currently only on my itunes library).

I updated my iPhone 4 last night. I am trying to find a way to use the new Passbook App. when I open it and hit the app store button, I get a message that I cannot connect to iTunes Store, BUT I can connect to the iTunes Store via iTunes on the phone. I have already shut down and synced to my computer. Is anyone else having this problem OR does anyone know how to fix it?

What version of Exchange 2013 are we talking about - RTM, CU1, CU2, CU3 or SP1
Is this a CAS, MBX or multirole server
Did you remove the default Exchange self-signed certificate
Are you trying to connect locally or remotely

I cannot seem to complete step 5 from the link given when an ipod has been locked out for 22, 000, 000 minutes. Itunes will not automatically recognize my device.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Have you attempted Apple's 5 Rs? If not, go through each one of the those and see if that helps. If not, try putting your iPod into Disk Mode. More information on the 5 Rs and putting your iPod into Disk Mode can be found with the links below. Hope this helps.

I've not long bought a laptop and i've just downloaded itunes on to it. I used my ipod before on my other computer and it worked fine. I plugged my ipod in and it worked for about 3 minutes it synced it to this laptop but then it just disappeared tried connecting it again and it wouldn't work! I've looked on the discussion pages to find a solution alot have been said that toshiba laptop don't work with ipod so i followed all the instructions i could to get it working and still no look! i'm running out of ideas now, please help been trying to work it for hours now, never had a problem on my other computer!

Despite the fact that my network connection is working quite fine, this problem still persists. I can say that my connection is fine because I can surf the internet and furthermore, I used to connect to the iTunes store just before this incident happened which started from April 17, 2014 and persists until today. I tried to solve the problem by following the troubleshoot procedures given in the support section of this site but it really did not solve the problem. I believe that others are experiencing this situation as well very similar to mine when it comes to the time of occurrence as I have read in the discussions in this site. Even though we have different network connections, operating systems and other specifications, we still experience the same problem, so is there really a problem with our computers or is it with the iTunes? Try this...
Triple click anywhere in the line below to select it and press Ctrl+C to copy it.
cmd /k netsh winsock reset
Press the WinLogoKey+R to open the run dialog, then Ctrl+V to paste, then press enter/return.
You should get something similar to this:
Reboot the computer and the problem should be resolved.
If it doesn't work then perhaps a full tear down and rebuild of iTunes will fix things. See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for details.

I get a message that my ipad 2 and iphone 5 cannot connect to the itunes store when I try to sync a book to my book app. Although, when I click "store" both are able to access the itunes store. Why is this? Also I tried to open a book that was synced and a message that I did not have enough memory to load this book popped up--when I know that I have well over 40gb of memory left in my ipad and over 16gb left in my iphone. The message that I cannot connect to the itunes store is strange that it offers no option and I have to hit OK to get out and use my ipad or iphone.

Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works.
If that doesn't solve it then what has worked for some people is going into Settings > General > Date & Time and changing the date to a few months (or maybe a year or two) in the future and then re-trying

I upgraded my iphone 5 to iOS 8 and now i get an itunes error message when I try to sync "this iphone cannot be synced. Unknown error. (-50). my icloud drive was stuck in an upgrade cycle, but i've stopped that and still get the error message.

I restarted itunes and tried again (based on a similar question/solution from 2012).
I don't get the error message anymore, but it's really sort of odd that after step one of sync, it looks as if sync stopped, and then all of a sudden you see step 4 of sync.
Also before the upgrade I had 7+ gigs of space free and after the upgrade I have 10 gigs free. seems like something is amiss, but it's not like I have anyway of determining that.
