Cannot connect phone to computer.

Desktop manager says my phone is not connecting and I have checked my USB cable and it is okay.  Also I previously had 7.1 OS and it wouldn't let me Sync or even configure to sync.  Is there a problem with this version?

Also, check that you are using only root USB ports...no hubs (sometimes the front-side ports are hubs...use a rear USB port). And make sure to try disabling USB power management in your system configuration (Device Manager).
Also check on conflicting software...it has been reported that the software package NTI Shadow&Ninja can cause a conflict; removing them and reinstalling the BB desktop software allows it to install correctly.
Apologies in advance if this is redundant -- there's no way to be sure if you've already seen and tried these. Also apologies if any are not presently available...RIM takes them up and down at will as they revise things.
Hopefully something there is helpful!
Cheers!

  • I have bought music on my ipad and want it in my iphone. I cannot connect to a computer but is there anything I can press in the phone for the music to download?

I have bought music in my ipad and want it on my iPhone also.  I cannot connect to a computer and thought there was something I could press on the iPhone to get the music on all my devices.

Re-download music on the iPhone using the Purchased sections of iTunes app, it's in the bottom right corner under the More menu.
Note for the future: Settings > iTunes and App Store > (Automatic Downloads) Music > On

  • IPod Nano 5th generation cannot connect to the computer

My Nano 5th generation cannot connect to my computer when the device is connected to a USB cord. I have an existing library which I have synced to numerous times but all of a sudden, the iPod does not connect using the USB cord. I've tried changing ports on the computer but to no avail. I share the computer with another user who has a totally different library (their's is an iPod Touch) and there is no problem connecting this iPod Touch to the computer and iTunes library. I cannot figure out why the Nano 5th generation is not connecting by way of the USB cord. Somebody please help me

Have you tried plugging the iPod into a different USB port? Sometimes this can fix the problem of a device not being seen by a computer.
And i share you a column about [iPod Transfer|http://www.softwarebbs.com/wiki/IPod_Transfer]. This has worked perfectly for me everytime I've tried it.
Hope it can do you a favor.

  • Cannot connect Playbook to computer. Tried all fixes.

    Hey,
since a few weeks my PlayBook just cannot connect to my computer. The desktop software sees it but doesn't mount it, nor can it access files.
I have seen fixes about TCPIP NetBios Helper service not running or anti-virus. Nothing helps. I can see the network connection in "Manage Adapters" but that doesn't seem to help.
Is there any fix planned? The Playbook is now useless.
    I am on Win7x64.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software.
    Solved!

    Hey,
thanks for your reply, but you can trust me that I tried everything I was able to find here to fix the issue.
I have found the fix myself now.
The service "Workstation" was disabled and once I started it, the PlayBook instantly connected and everything works fine. No driver issues, no "Client for Windows" missing issues, no TCP-IP Helper issues. It was something completely undocumented.
Find the Service under Services in Windows 7 (just type into the start button search)
Workstation - Creates and maintains client network connections to remote servers using the SMB protocol. If this service is stopped, these connections will be unavailable. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.
BlackBerry should add this to the KnowledgeBase and document their dependencies properly.

Place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore on any computer with iTunes. For recovery mode:

  • TS2972 I just purchased Apple TV, but when it goes to connect to my computer, I either get a message that says "make sure iTunes is on" or it says that it cannot connect to my computer.

So, this issue I have is that I can connect my iPad 3 to my home sharing network through iTunes, and my iPad can also connect to mirror on Apple TV.  I have no idea why Apple TV cannot connect to my home sharing through iTunes.  I have downloaded the latest iTunes, and everything else seems to be working the right way.  Any help that anyone can give would be great.  So far I am not that impressed with Apple TV.  I thought it would be a plug and play and things would be great, but this it turning into a nightmare!

    Hello JETaylor2015,
Congratulations on your new iPod nano!  I would be concerned too if my iPod was not recognized by iTunes or my computer.  I recommend reviewing this article for steps to take when your iPod is not recognized:

  • Is there a way to setup password protection upon connecting phone to computer/itunes in the case of being stolen?

Was wondering if there is an application that would prompt you to enter your apple ID & password onced connected to a computer.  My concern is that if my phone is lost or stolen, although my lock screen is on, a person may still be able to connect it to a computer and sync contacts, apps, music, email, etc... via iTunes.

    No.
The Passcode Lock prevents the iPhone from being synced with iTunes on another computer, backing up the iPhone on another computer, importing anything from the iPhone, or accessing anything on the iPhone directly.
This doesn't prevent the iPhone from being restored with iTunes as a new iPhone via placing the iPhone into recovery mode, but access to anything on the iPhone before that time is prevented.

  • My iPod cannot connect to my computer

    Hello everybody,
i have a problem. My iPod Nano 3rd generation can`t connect to my computer when i plug the USB into the PC. It had always worked before but all of the sudden it stopped working. The itunes goes on when i plug the ipod but it cannot connect and the iPod is trying to connect (on the iPod screen is said...connecting....connecting....)Can please please please please someone help me. I really appreciate it.
    Thanks guys.....
    Sonia

    Hello Sonia,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Have you tried a simple reset of the iPod while it is plugged in? To do this, press and hold the Center and Menu buttons together until the Apple logo appears.
If no luck the first time, I would recommend attempting it a few more times. Otherwise, make sure to try different USB ports on your computer as well as a different connector cable if one is available.
    I would start there.

  • Cannot connect to remote computer

Hi all, I've spent a lot of time trying to figure this out, would appreciate any help as I'm new to ARD, (3.3.2 version).
Here goes... I have 5 Macs on my home network, and have had very little problem connecting and controlling them from ARD. My problems start when I try to connect to my not-to-computer-savvy relatives elsewhere.
The first one is running a new iMac behind an airport extreme, I have ticked thier Remote Management box and opened the ARD ports on the extreme and I think I have correctly set up a static IP address of 10.0.1.3, on the 'configure IPv4' 'using DHCP with manual address'. I have then asked that user to give me his IP address from 'http://www.myipaddress.com' and this is the address I type into ARD - Scanner - Network Address. However this will not work, I cannot 'see' them or let me verify the user when I try to 'control' of 'observe'.
The second computer is behind a 'Linksys WAG 54G2', so I'll need to forward the ports like this.. http://portforward.com/english/routers/portforwarding/Linksys/WAG54G2/Apple_RemoteDesktop.htm
I have also tried to 'Ping' without success both these computers using 'Network Utility'
    Very frustrated. Any help appreciated.
    Max

Do you mean, you can access the target computer using the other computer and not the
one you’re on right now? Can you ping the target computer using that computer
and vice versa? Just make sure that the computers are pinging each other to
    ensure that they are communicating.

  • Cannot connect 6310i to computer with bluetooth

Could someone please tell me how i connect my 6310i to my computer in order that i can transfer information from the phone onto the computer. I have tried and failed.
    thankyou

Are you sure you installed the correct version of PCsuite for the 6310i?
Also, you will need to have bluetooth enabled on both the phone and pc first. On first connection, you will have to pair the two devices first.

  • Old wiring cannot connect phone or home hub

We have a very old house with old wiring to the main bt box. We had a working phone line and new home hub connected and all was great until we had new windows fitted and the fitters broke the bt box!
We ordered a new identical box from ebay but now cannot work out how to re-wire it. We have tried many configurations but nothing seems to work. At best we get a very crackly phone line, but the wifi box just wont connect (constant red flashing lights).
As shown in the photo the wires are green, black, white (with blue wire taped on) and orange (with white end tape on).
    Can anyone help?

    No oval shaped box!
Just the wires coming straight in from outside.
May have to get BT out and pay them to do a whole new rewire
Surely you can insist that your fitters pay for the damage.
