Cannot connect printer (F4580) to router

Good evening,
I just bought my printer and I am having the hardest trouble connecting it to my router (Linksys WRT150N). When I try to set it up, I follow the instructions but the result is always the same! It says that the printer cannot connect to the router and it asks me if the SSID it correct, which it is! What can I do?

Tell me about your network - router brand/model, encryption type (WEP, WPA, etc) and ISP type (DSL, Cable, etc).
What operating system?
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Since upgrading to Mountain Lion I cannot connect to my wireless router

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion I cannot connect to my wireless router. I have 2 wireless networks in my home. One is the primary whuch all of my devices connect to. The other is for backup only. I cannot connect to the primary with my iMac but have no trouble with any of the other devices which include iphones and ipads.phones and iPads. I can however connect to the backup without a problem. I have tried upgrading the firmware of the router as well as changing the security from WEP to WPA-2, no luck. Can anyone help?

    Try this, it's for information.
In Finder, open the Go menu, press and hold the option  key, 'Library' will appear on the menu, click and scroll to Application Support, open the folder and scroll to 'AddressBook-v22.abcddb'. Click on the file and press Command-I. Towards the bottom you'll see Permissions, tell me what they are please.

  • Satellite Pro L300-1B9 cannot connect to my Wireless router

    Hi!
I have activated the wireless nw on SAT L300 PRO 1B9 - but with many fight...
First I needed to find the switch to enable (I never though that it have... :-) ).
Then I needed to deinstall Atheros in Windows, and set the flags on (enable) in the Windows driver.
But in both Linux and Windows I couldn't connect to my Wireless router.
My luck was that some of my neightbours have security-disabled, open wireless network, what I could map to test.
The test was succecfully with that network, but my wireless router was unreachable.
From other machine I could reach it.
    The result was:
If I set the router to broadcast the SSID, both OSs (Ubuntu + Windows) can use wireless network.
But if I disable the broadcasting (to protect my router), the network driver cannot use my router, it does not matter I pre-set the SSID...
A router is WRT54G, and it is working with other computers if I hide the SSID, but with SAT L300 Pro cannot connect (with this option).
Do anybody knows why? What I need to do to I could hide the SSID from the bad guys?
    Thanks for any help!
    Regards:

I dont know which Windows OS do you use but if you use original Vista, I think, right WLAN driver is part of the package. So WLAN card must be installed properly.
It is not easy to say what is wrong there but if the notebook can see and detect your WLAN network on notebooks side everything must be OK. Try to restart your router and check all settings.
In my opinion there is some problem with WLAN settings.

  • Cannot connect iPad 2 to router

MY wife has a new iPad 2 and it will not connect to her wireless router at her business. It does recognize the router but when you tap on it to join you get tha error message "failed to join router...". Our iPhones and my iPad 1 connect fine. Her does connect at home and elsewhere. May be a wireless G router. Any suggestions?

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • Wireless LAN cannot connect with the wireless router with Windows 8.1

    Hi,
I currently have a Lenovo V570 laptop with Windows 8.1 running on it. I cannot seem to stay connected to a wireless wifi connection for more than 10 minutes without it going "limited" and a yellow caution exclamation icon hovering over my connected wifi icon.
When it goes limited, I cannot access the internet whatsoever and it's growing increasingly frustrating. I used to have success by disconnected and reconnecting which seemed to temporarily solve the issue, but now even that is not working.
I did not have this issue (I don't believe so) when I first installed Windows 8 on this laptop a few years ago. This is an issue I've been dealing with for over a year now and only within the past 4-6 months has it been really bad.
I found this support page here which provides solutions for my problem but after attempting all of them, unfortunately none of them worked. The only time I experience no issues is when I directly connect an ethernet cord from my laptop to the router.
The wireless problem exists for all wifi connections, whether it be my university wifi, home wifi, local, etc.
Can anybody please help me out? I'd be more than happy to provide additional info to get this problem fixed once and for all.

  • Cannot connect using Accessing the Router's Web-Based

I'm trying to update firmware, I have done all the step to access the router's web-based.. I connected DSL to the Ethernet port on the router, from the router I used another Ethernet cable to connect the router to my laptop.. I can't get an internet connection.  The reason why I'm doing the update I have been using WRT54G2 V1 with no problems, all at once I can't connect to the internet using the router.  I was told that I need to perform a firmware update.
    Thank you for the help

What' s the ip address and the default gateway are you getting on the computer ?
Connect the DSL modem to the Internet port of the router then use port number one on the router to connect the computer.
Click on Start > Run > type CMD hit Enter command promt window will appear on the screen.
In the command promt window tupe "ipconfig" hit Enter. Now you will see the ip address and the default gateway on the screen. Use the default gateway to open the setup page of the router.

  • Cannot connect I-Pad to Router

I had to reset my I-pad and lost the router connection.  I did not remember the password for my router, so I went in and changed it.  When I go to Settings-Wi-Fi and see the network and type in that new password...it won't let me connect to the router. What am I doing wrong?

The most likely thing would be that you haven't got the password correct. Either the way it was set in the router or what you are trying on the iPad.

  • Mac Book cannot connect to older Belkin Router

    Hi Everyone,
I am a brand new Mac user (as of yesterday) and am trying to set the thing up. Never used a Mac before so I am not sure if it is me being a MacVirgin or not.
I have an older Belkin router (which incidently connects to everything under the sun, D-LINK, Belkin, Sony PSP, my 360 everything). My Mac Book can see my network which is an unsecured Belkin54g. When I try to connect however, I get a useless error back saying:
There was an error joining the airport network "belkin54g".
As I have said before, everything else can connect to this network and it is unsecured at present.
The router I am using is the Belkin FSD7630-4A which is currently running at 11g (slow I know). I also have not done any firmware updates to this either. Would this help?
I am also using the latest airport update and OSX10.4.9
Does anyone know of any solution to this issue. Has anyone experienced anything similar.
    Thank you.

Ok - new macbook arrived. Exactly the same problem.
Long chat with Belkin - they can't help.
    So I tried the following.
Added an airport express which i had lying around to the belkin modem/router by ethernet.
    Bingo
New macbook connects to the airport express just fine, but not the wireless belkin. I connect to the internet by piggyback.
Something is no longer compatible between 'older' belkin routers wireless and newest macbooks.
I suppose they gotta keep selling us kit...2 years old and still working? No good to wall street.....

  • HT1595 cannot connect ATV to actiontec router with wired ethernet.  router does not see ATV.  is there a way to test the  ATV ethernet port on the back?

have an 3g ATV (5.0 4099) wired via coax cable to actiontec MI 424-wr router.  Router cannot see ATV.  Is there a way to test ethernet connector on back of ATV?  ATV does work when setup for wireless but its much too slow for actual use when configured that way.

    Steve,
I think the isssue is clearly that your router is not acting as a DNS Server.  You will need to contact Verizon to see how to configure it so that it does supply the DNS addresses.  If you can configure it in your Router try using 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as the DNS Server addresses.  These point it to Google's Public Domain DNS Servers.  There are others (opendns.org).  But for now these will hopefully get you up and running.

  • Cannot connect printer to iMac using USB - Help!

We have just bought a new Canon pixma pro 9500 mark II printer & it just will not show up in the print & fax preferences or add printer dialog boxes. I am running OS X v10.6 & have just completely erased the hard drive & started from scratch after numerous upgrades of printer drivers & updates for Mac OS X. I am now running the latest 10.6.8 after installing the MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.8.dmg v 1.1 & also I have installed the latest canon printer drivers but still nothing. I don't know what else I can do, the printer works off a pc using the same usb cable & even connects to an old macbook pro. Also the old macbook pro had a generic printer in the preferences whereas this iMac has nothing, which makes me think its a mac problem, I have attached a screenshot to show how the printers are installed in the Library but nothing is showing up in the preferences.
Also i have contacted Canon & they were no help at all. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it!
    Thanks

You tried clicking the ⊞ Add button in the Print and Fax Preference...?
If so and your still getting nothing, then perhaps your USB port overload protection is tripped. Try testing another USB device on that port or try the printer on a different port.
If you find that some or all of your USB ports are not working,
Reset the SMC, as per > Resetting the System Management Controller
    1. Shut down the computer.
    2. Unplug the computer's power cord.
    3. Wait fifteen seconds.
    4. Attach the computer's power cord.
    5. Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
Then reconnect the Printer and try again.

  • Airport (MacBook) cannot connect to 2wire's router

I'm using MacBook and has been trying to connect to my 2wire's wireless router but to no avail. Read a few posts, and have tried including a '$' before the WEP password, still it refused to connect.
The router works fine when I connect it using an Ethernet cable, and airport works fine when I'm outside connecting to my school's wireless network (though I'm not sure what router it is.)
Can anyone suggest anything to help? Do I need to update my router's firmware or anything?
MacBook 13" - White   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   iWorks '06, Office:mac, iLife '06, Macromedia Dreamweaver MX, Adobe CS

I just did a quick google search with your 2Wire model and problems with connections to Airport cards, didn't find a whole lot, but after reading some of the posts in various forums and answers or possible solutions, I realized just how easy it is to have a connection not work because of one small detail (a setting as random as having both router and laptop set to always connect on a certain channel number (6 usually being default), but if one was 6 and the other was 11 (which I personally like a lot more and is better in my surroundings with too many other WiFi signals using channel 6).
This is also a big problem (more likely to occur) if using a router that is part of a Windows Network (like mine is) and then having the laptop (being a MacBook) trying to use Mac stuff to connect itself into the mix. Normally, this shouldn't be too bad, or like for me, it was easier than setting up WiFi on my windows laptop (and it starts more quickly than my windows which takes a couple minutes to find the router and totally connect to it).
When I first turned on my MacBook, and it started up and did it's thing for the first time, with me entering info and getting the registration done, at whatever point either before all that or soon after, it asked if I wanted it to find my internet connection (I didn't have an Ethernet cable plugged in at that time) and when I hit the button for yes, it immediately found it and had it configured perfectly. This may not be the case for others, so you would want to check through some of the basic details that you can usually find on both sides of the connection (router and wireless card).
First, start off by seeing if your MacBook is showing it's MAC Address, and see if it has an IP Address listed for your machine as well. Also, check what you have it set up for: Automatic DCHP retrieval (from the router) or Manual (where you then enter in the info yourself in the available boxes). You need to try and see if you have your Airport doing anything at all (which might mean it is connected to it's own network and not to any internet connection or other computers). With this case, you should be able to "find" other WiFi signals in the area and even join those networks if they are "open" and you don't need a password. If you can't do that, then I think it is more in the settings (is wifi listed as your top choice of internet connection, is it enabled, and all that "you have to ask yourself just because you don't want to miss anything, even though you are pretty sure you weren't being stupid and trying to use the wireless with it disabled"). Heh. Sorry, stupid questions need to be asked.
You will also want to check all the things (like mentioned earlier) the Channel # that you are using (both on the router and laptop, need to match), as well as signal strength (if you have more WiFi activity around you or possible interference from inside your apartment/house then you will generally want to turn it up to about 10 for strongest signal without buying an extender/booster thing, the default can be very low like anywhere from 3-5 only.
Match up the Encryption formats and types (WEP or WPA) and then the other parts like PSK (and) TKIP... This is what I use and is the most common (best) for home users: Set it as WPA using PSK-TKIP and since you have a 2Wire gateway, there should be a sticker on the bottom of it that has a serial number with bar code, and a set of numbers underneath it - which is your gateway's default WPA password. Stick to this for now, and when you get things working, then later on you can always go and change it (and change it in your connection settings on your laptop too), but this is not needed really.
Also, to make it easier to see your connection, start off by turning on the SSID broadcast and *Change your Network Name*. This is not needed for any real purpose other than making it easier to see your's in a list (as all 2Wire routers show up as 2WIRExxx with the last 3 x's being the last 3 numbers of your router's serial number). More than half of the wifi spots that show up around me are other 2Wire systems...
After you test whether your MacBook can find (show in the list) your (now uniquely named) Network, you have more info to go on. Either it sees it and you can connect which means you can possibly setup a connection to use *just your router* if that's what you want to do, and also hide/disable the SSID Broadcast, OR, you still don't see the router listed and you know you have more looking and tweaking to do.
I don't know how much work you want to put into trying to test this all out etc, I just wanted to throw out some starting points for you and if you try them and they don't work and want to give up, that's your decision, but if you try stuff and it works or not and still need some possible help (even just brainstorming suggestions of what might be wrong and what's causing it - maybe even how to fix it finally) then I'll try to help you out as much as I can. It's usually easier for me to figure out stuff like this by "testing" and playing around with the items in question myself compared to asking questions and getting you to tell me what worked, what didn't etc, but while it might not be all nice and quick, we may end up coming up with a solution to it after a while (or at least know what it most likely isn't).
And this will give you a good chance at exploring your system a bit more with settings and hardware (will make you more comfortable over time with these types of things if you do small little "explorations" every now and then, if you don't already have much experience). I did also read at the macosxhints forums (I think it was there) that Macs Airport products do have some random problems working cooperatively with certain routers (I have seen many posts with people using a Linksys WiFi Router and having the same sort of issues, whether it was only after the wireless update or not I am not totally sure of).
I actually only just did my update (with the other update, was it for iTunes?) and I haven't been at home for more than a little bit since I restarted my MacBook (haven't used it yet, I'm in another room) and so I hope that it didn't do anything to my WiFi connection at all... Heh.

  • WET 610N Cannot Connect after Replacing the Router

    Hello,
WET610 has been working flawlessly with the old router.  Upon replacing the router however, I tried to set it up as was before by using the CD that came with WET610N.  I keep gettin the error 107.
I would appreciate any and all suggestions.  Thank you all in advance.

I’m not that familiar with error 109 but I believe it has something to do with the setup cd being corrupted. Good thing is that there is an option to setup the bridge manually. These links will guide you on how to setup the bridge manually: Manually configuring a Linksys Wireless-N Bridge to work with an access point and Configuring a Linksys Wireless-N Bridge through the web-based setup page. Before reconfiguring the settings of the bridge, make sure that the bridge has been reset to factory default settings (push and hold the reset button for 30 seconds then power it off for another 30 seconds; once the power light is solid, you can start the manual configuration).

  • IBook cannot connect to woreless router with airport card

    The Situation
my iBook G3 dual usb cannot connect to my wireless router. The router is using wpa and wpa2 encryption and broadcasting on 802.11b and g, on channel 12. The SSID is broadcast, but the iBook airport card cannot see it. The card CAN see other networks in my area. My iMac Mini (spec OS X 10.5.5, airport built in) is connecting to the same router and can see the SSID, so its not the aerial.
I select 'Other...' on the airport menu to connect, and type in my network name and the WPA2 Personal password. I then get the message: 'The Wireless Network <network> does not support the requested encryption method'
So what's the problem? And how can I fix it?

I'm having the same problem, but having been through the threads I'm getting nowhere!
Running a 2001 dual USB G3 Ibook. Connects fine on home network via Airport Express, but will not connect to PC/Belkin wireless network at my Dad's place. Newer macs seem to connect fine - but not my old dear.
It detects the network OK and prompts for a WPA password, but it is not recognised.
The router is set up for WPA/WPA2-PSK (AES encryption)
Tried turning the security protocols off on the router - still can't connect.
Same circular "network settings have been changed by another application" if I try and use the IBook's network / airport wizards.
My software is fully up to date - the ethernet connection works fine with the router.
    This is driving me insane!
