Cannot connect Satellite A30 to WLan

Hi,
I have bought second hand Satellite A30 for young daughter - cannot get wireless hub connection.
Can anyone help please with requirements/upgrades necessary for this?
Man thanks and regards

As Jeffrey said, check if wireless lan device is listed in device manager.
But as far as I know the A30 was not equipped with such a module nor bluetooth.
This leads me to the conclusion that your notebook doesn't have a built in wlan module but you could buy some external devices like usb sticks.

  • Cannot connect to wireless network - Wlan is sometimes not available

    Hi,
The usual problem I have is that I can see the wireless adaptor but when I go to connect it informs me that the adaptor is not available and to refresh the list.
I also - when I can get connected - loose the connection after a period of time.
    Any help please
    Thanks

PS I have un-installed config free

    Hi
As far as I know ConfigFree has no any influence on WLAN functionality because this utility is created for monitoring and not for configuring. When you want to use WLAN connection be sure that WLAN card is properly enabled. If the connection is loosed from time to time try to update WLAN driver.

  • Cannot connect to wireless internet - WLAN card not installed - Satellite Pro M10

Hi, i have just been given a second hand toshiba satellite pro M10 and i have just rebuilt it and put windows xp home edition on it. What i would like to be able to do is to connect to my families wireless network so that i can get rid of all the cables on the floor. My laptop seems to think that there is no wireless card installed though. Now i had the same problem with the cable lan, but i went onto tosibas website and downloaded a patch and updated the driver in device manager. I am not able to do this with the wireless as there are no drivers to download for it and there is apparently no device for it in device manager. Could somebody please help me and tell me what to do and how i can download a patch or fix the problem. Thanks, Andrew Reid

  • Cannot Connect Satellite A355 to a Canon IP Pixma 5000 on a LAN

We just recently bought the Toshiba Satellite A355-S6925 which has the Windows Home VISTA 64 Byte operating system.
The Canon Pixma 5000 printer is directly connected to a WindowsXP computer using the 32 byte operating system.
When I go to add a printer (LAN Option) the Toshiba sees the Canon printer but then returns a error message that there is a wrong driver. When you go to the next step, it says that it can't find the correct "INF" file. I assume that the INF file would actually be on the remote computer that the printer is attached to. So one question, where is a printer's INF on a WindowsXP computer?
As a test, I hooked the printer directly to the Toshiba, and the Toshiba loaded the driver for the printer. I hoped that might resolve my problem, but it didn't. When I tried adding the printer, again, as a remote printer I got the same error message that it could not locate the INF file.
The "add printer" wizard did see the Canon printer on our LINUX computer. In fact when I added the printer as attached to the LINUX computer, I can print from the Toshiba. While this works, it is a poor solution as I am still not able to print directly to the remote printer.
As another experiment, I attempted to use the printer's install disk, this was rejected by the Toshiba since it was a 32 byte driver. I also downloaded from the Canon website the 64 byte driver, but again the add printer wizard said that there was a missing INF file.. So I still assume that I need to point to an INF file that is on the WindowsXP computer?
    Any advise?

    I found the solution here --->>>: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTa bAct&fcategoryid=257&modelid=10439
I used the "Add Hardware" option under the control panel. I did not use the "add printer" option under printers
About half way down, you will see some graphics on using ports. This was the critical information to make things work.
For some reason, the printer ink status report will not work on the VISTA computer. It may have to do with VISTA security, but that will have to wait. The important point it now prints now!

  • Cannot connect to Internet over WLAN

I bought a Lenovo thinkpad e325 today and brought it home, but can't connect to Internet.
The laptop is connected to the WLAN in which I am now writing this post with my phone, but it says "no Internet connection".
Where should I look for information or does someone has an answer to my problem?
I live in a dorm so I can't access the routers properties.

    Hi
    Please checlk the following
    1. Under Command Prompt   use IPCONFIG to check what IP your Wlan adaptor is picking
    2. Also  try pressing the FN+F5 button to know the Wlan status
    3. If system is connected then try command Ping  yahoo.com  on command prompt
    Please share the results
    Cheers!!!

  • Cannot activate the WLan card on Satellite A30

    I have a satellite A30.
In the manual I got with the laptop it said some models have a built in wireless link. My computer has an on/off switch for wireless but i haven't been able to activate it.
How can i tell if this models wireless connection will work.
I have downloaded drivers from this website for wireless . After unzipping the file I found that there were no installation instructions or an executable file.
What do i do with the unzipped files.
Just a note i do have a belkin wireless router and have my A30 laptop wireless at the moment but i need a big clumsy network adaptor plugged into a USB port
    Any help appreciated
    Thanks Mark.

    Hello Mark
First of all you must be sure if your unit is delivered with WLAN card. You can check this on two ways. First one is to check bottom side of your notebook. Every unit delivered with WLAN card has WLAN sticker. Other way you can check entrie in device manager under Network adapters. If the unit has WLAN card it will be listed there.
As far as I know WLAN card for Satellite A30 is optional and if the unit has no card on board you can buy compatible one or use external cards like USB WLAN stick or PCMCIA WLAN cards.

  • Unable to connect Satellite C55-A to the WLAN

Hi I am unable to connect to my WLAN.
My router was zapped in the latest storms and talktalk sent me a replacement. Whilst setting it up I decided to change the ssid and the psk.
Every other device in our household (laptop, desktop and tablets) will connect to the new router but not my Satellite C55A. It can see the new ssid but when I enter the psk it gives the message "cannot connect to this network". I have win 8.1 wlan adapter is atheros ar956x, driver is 10.0.0.263.
    Any suggestions?

It is really strange. Usually there should not be some problem. When the WLAN is detected all you must do is to put right password.
Have you checked all WLAN settings on your machine?
Is there some possibility to test it with other WLAN by your friend, just to see if the problem is the same?

  • Satellite Pro L300-1B9 cannot connect to my Wireless router

    Hi!
I have activated the wireless nw on SAT L300 PRO 1B9 - but with many fight...
First I needed to find the switch to enable (I never though that it have... :-) ).
Then I needed to deinstall Atheros in Windows, and set the flags on (enable) in the Windows driver.
But in both Linux and Windows I couldn't connect to my Wireless router.
My luck was that some of my neightbours have security-disabled, open wireless network, what I could map to test.
The test was succecfully with that network, but my wireless router was unreachable.
From other machine I could reach it.
    The result was:
If I set the router to broadcast the SSID, both OSs (Ubuntu + Windows) can use wireless network.
But if I disable the broadcasting (to protect my router), the network driver cannot use my router, it does not matter I pre-set the SSID...
A router is WRT54G, and it is working with other computers if I hide the SSID, but with SAT L300 Pro cannot connect (with this option).
Do anybody knows why? What I need to do to I could hide the SSID from the bad guys?
    Thanks for any help!
    Regards:
    dd

I dont know which Windows OS do you use but if you use original Vista, I think, right WLAN driver is part of the package. So WLAN card must be installed properly.
It is not easy to say what is wrong there but if the notebook can see and detect your WLAN network on notebooks side everything must be OK. Try to restart your router and check all settings.
In my opinion there is some problem with WLAN settings.

  • Satellite Pro A10 - re-installed WXP and cannot connect to internet

Please help me....... I have re-installed WXP...and now cannot connect to internet... also have no more sound!
I have gone into device manager... into "other devices" - and there is yellow ? mark next to..
1/ ethernet controller . 2/ multimedia audio controller 3/ PCI modem 4/ video controller......
They all say "drivers for this are not installed.".... Also went into "system devices" and found 9 other things that no longer have drivers installed... also says there is no "sound device" installed!!!!!
Is my laptop completely knackered or is it worth trying to sort this out. I am a complete idiot when it comes to stuff like this.. so be gentle with me.... do I have to find every individual driver and re-install them??.. BTW... there is no wireless card in the back.. (Already checked)...

    Hello
Satellite A10 is a little bit older notebook model and you can find the drivers in *Archive*. go to the [Toshiba driver page|http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp]
Archive => Satellite Pro => Satellite Pro A Series => Satellite Pro A10
    > / ethernet controller . 2/ multimedia audio controller 3/ PCI modem 4/ video controller
Download and install: 1)Lan 2) Soundcard 3) Modem driver 4) graphic card Also, download other drivers if needed.

  • Satellite A30: while AC adapter is connected the battery stops charging

Using a Satellite A30 about three years old. Recent problem is that while the power adapter is connected the battery stops charging, the orange battery indicator goes off.
If you look at the Power Management Utility the battery poweer meter reads On Line, Discharging %
To get it to charge I either have to turn the machine off (completely or to hibernate) then remove the power cable and reinsert, then the battery light comes back on. When restarting the battery will start to charge up for a while and then for no apparent reason start to discharge.
If left the battery reaches 0% - the machine continues to operate while the power cable is inserted so its getting power ok, but of course starts to bleep when it gets below 10%. To get it going again I have to shut down and restart etc.
I have checked the bios and have the latest version.
I have cleaned around the heat exchanger the power socket and removed all fluff.
I am using a generic adapter as the original failed, but as far as I can tell its working normally.
    Any thoughts
    Richard

    Hi Richard,
Your problem is being caused by a loose connection where the AC adapter is connected to the socket on the back of your notebook. Any slight movement of the cable causes a momentary loss of contact and the power management electronics in the notebook are fooled into beleiving that the battery is no longer available, whereupon the battery light will extinguish and the notebook will revert to battery power even though the AC adapter is connected. As you have already discovered, powering off the notebook will return everything to normal.
I have experienced the very same situation with my A30-141 and have yet to find a solution other than to resort to powering off the notebook, but I have managed to prevent the problem from occurring by clamping the AC cable to the back of the notebook so that there is no risk of the power plug flexing so as to trigger the problem in the first place. This has been remarkably successful to date and I have not experienced the problem for several months now.
Obviously this is not a 'cure' for the problem but it does ease the frustration that it causes.
    regards,

  • Satellite L300D PSLC0E - Cannot connect to TV

I have a problem with either my laptop or TV. I have a Toshiba Satellite L300D model number - pslc0e-017017en.
I'm trying to use a VGA wire to a Samsung TV but its not working.
I've try FN+F5 and nothing appears. Is this a common problem, do I need 2 install something?
    Please help.

    Hi
The question is what cable did you use and how did you connect it to the TV and if you have chosen the right channel on the TV!
As far as I know this notebook supports ONLY VGA (RGB) port. Using this port you can transmit only the analog video signal.
For example; you cannot connect VGA to DVI. This will not function!
If you want to connect the external monitor you will you have to use the VGA cable and should connect the both devices using a VGA cable.
By the way; its very important that you would use the Toshiba certified graphic driver!!!

  • Cannot use ODD on my Satellite A30

Satellite A30 has lost it's d drive so can't use recovery disc's. Do I need to buy a new drive or is there software I can download to recover it?
    Many thanks

If you are 100% sure that drive is defective I recommend you to exchange it with new one. After doing this you can install your notebook without any problems.
As far as I know there is no any software that you can use to install OS without using ODD. Recovery image can not be downloaded.
