Cannot Connect SIP Softphone to CME 8.6

Hello all....I'm having trouble connecting a 3CX SIP softphone (Windows) to my CME router- version 8.6. Router is 2851 ISR- all connected via a lan switch in my office. Connectivity is fine between the PC\softphone and the router.
I have successfully setup 3 SCCP phones (all Cisco) but I'm not too clear why the SIP softphone is having issues- I've Google and read quite a bit but maybe somebody can check my config-- I'm sure I'm missing something. Also, tried to get some debug info from various debug ccsip xxx commands, but the console is overwhelmed with lines of debug- nothing that stands out anyway. I am familiar configuring sip phones for Asterisk....as I have a working PBX up here...but not so much for CME\Cisco.
Here's my pertinent config sections---  like I mentioned, I have working skinny phones on the same CME system. I wouldn't need to specify phone loads and type and tftp paths for a simple sip softphone would I???     Thanks in advance....Dennis

Nadeem-- thanks-- nice outlined config in the blog! The main thing I missed was the registrar itself no being "turned on"!
sip
registrar server expires max 600 min 60    turns on the SIP registrar!
It became blatently evident when I issued a debug ccsip events and got this:
CCSIP_REGISTER:: Registrar is not enabled
Lesson learned- thanks again

  • About cme 4.x, SIP softphone and g729

    Hi folks,
it's normal that a x-lite softphone (mac os x version) registered on CME 4.x system:
    - calls correctly all internal numbers (ip phones Cisco)
    - the client supports only g711a/u, GSM, iLBC and SPX ... then it uses g711a/u ... but all dial-peer voip use g729, then when I try to call a voip number, cme try to connect that with dial-peer pots, and it doesn't work ... no way to do that? I could only:
    1- change dial-peer voip codec to g711
2- change softphone with g729 support
    any advice will be appreciated
    Regards
    Andrea

It is possible to register a sip softphone (like x-lite, sjphone, etc) and make a call via voip trunk. This URL should help you:

Issue:  Lync 2013 users with remote call control enabled cannot connect to the phone system.  When the user logs into Lync, they see an exclamation in the bottom right corner
    with this error.

Trusted application is added here for the site.
    2. Lync 2013

I have not moved the trusted application to the Lync 2013 pool yet, but my understanding is that it should still work since it’s in the site.  Is my understanding on this correct?  (All of my other trusted applications do work for Lync 2013
users & none of them have been moved yet. Remote Call Control is the only one that does not work.)
This is from the uccapi log.  This is just from the user logging in, not actually making a call.  Below are the items that I think are important, however, I don’t know how to interpret it to determine if the problem is on the Lync side or
the Avaya side.  Here’s a summary:

    Hi Suelizy,
To better understand the issue, I would like to collect the following information for troubleshooting:
    1. Do you mean the Lync 2010 user can connect to the Phone System?
    2. What’s next hop pool of the application?
In a mixed environment, you must set the next hop pool to be the Lync Server 2013 pool.
    Best regards,
    Eric

  • Cannot connect to Reverse Proxy

Hi- I have what I think is a basic Lync setup, but it's basica-ally driving me crazy! What I have is:
    1 Standard Edition Server
    1 Edge Server
1 Reverse Proxy (IIS with ARR)
    1 Office Web Apps Server
I've followed some of the numerous how-tos to set up these boxes. My internal setup works great with no issues.
I've worked with my security admin to get the firewall rules set up.. We have SSL certs  (with SANs) installed and assigned on RP and Edge. I've set up persistent routes on RP and Edge to FE server.  I can telnet from Reverse Proxy to Edge and
back. I've ran netstat to ensure both are listening on 443. But when I run the Microsoft Connectivity Analyzer (online) results show that connection to port 443 on the server failed and says that the port is either blocked or not listening.
Using the Lync Connectivity Analyzer (in house) shows that a connection to "Lyncdiscover.domain.com" failed.
    Any insight is greatly appreciated.
    Thanx

Public DNS records verified. (Although I do see some posts that say to create CNAME records instead of A records (we created A records) and other posts that say it doesn't matter.
Rewrite rules in IIS ARR verified.
I've triple-checked the certificate (issued by Digicert) and the simple URLs are all listed in the SAN:
    sip.domain.com, meet.domain.com, dialin.domain.com, lyncdiscover.domain.com, and officewebapps.domain.com
Here's the error generated by the LCA:
An error occurred while sending the request.
Unable to connect to the remote server
A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond [xx.xxx.xxx.xxx]:443
If I try to open the Default Web Site from the server, I'm first presented with "There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address" message.
Clicking on "continue to this website" I get a "403-Forbidden" error. I read in another post that this message was as expected.
Trying to connect to lyncdiscover.domain.com from a browser on the RP returns a "Server not found". [This leads me to believe that the request is not getting through the firewall]. Attempts to access the simple URLs returns a "This page cannot
    be displayed"
    All services work internally...
More telnet testing: As previously posted, I CAN telnet between RP and Edge (external IPs) but CANNOT telnet to public IP of RP on 443
A similar issue with the Edge Server: netstat shows 0.0.0.0:443 listening but cannot connect via telnet to public IP on 443
RELATED QUESTION: Do I need the SANs included on my internal cert, too?
    Thanx

  • Macbook Pro Cannot Connect to SMTP

I am running a 2010 MacBook Pro with OS X 10.6.8.  I use Mac Mail app to send and receive e-mail.  Since Thursday 27th Dec 2012 I have been unable to send e-mail.  I get the grey spinning wheel until the following error message appears:
The SMTP connection to server “mail.(mydomain).co.uk” failed.
My outgoing mail server is currently showing as offline.  In fact I have 2 e-mail accounts and both are showing as offline.  No problem receiving mail.  Connection doctor connects fine to incoming mail, but not outgoing.
I have tried the following (plus other things) without any success:
Checked all the details, passwords etc
Changed ports from 25 to 465 and 587
Checked my IP address - it is not blacklisted
    Removed and re-added e-mail account
Telnet port 25 - it is not blocked, but appeared to successfully connect (from what I understood from checking www)
    Temporarily disabled firewall
    Re-installed Mac app
    Rebuilt mailbox
    Repaired disk permissions
    Used the repair disk utility
Deselected SSL and changed various options within "Edit SMTP server list"
    Reset the keychain
Tried updating software but it says no update available.
Re-instated an old Accounts.plist (and one other file which I forget, something like com.apple.mail) from time capsule.
I then set up a hotmail account on Mail app but had exactly the same problem, ie cannot connect with SMTP server.
However, I set up my e-mail account on my wife's iPad with the same details and there was no problem at all, e-mail sent just fine as it does from my iPhone.  So the issue has to be with my Macbook, right?  Can anyone help before I go and spent £1250 on a new Macbook?  I'm sure I'm missing something obvious.  Thanks in advance for any advice.

Just FYI, I've had the same problem for months now. I have been accessing my hotmail via the web, but decided to try the OS X Mail app.  I could get emails into the account with no problem but couldn't send.  I read all the blog and support entries and have tried everything they recommended, like changing my computer name to one word, without success.  Then last night, it just so happened that my broadband provider had to change out my wireless modem.  As soon as he plugged in the new one, some emails that had been in my outbasket for a month went through instantly and all of a sudden my Mail, both incoming and outgoing now work.  So I think people need to look at their router settings for the a solution to the problem.

We have an 8 port switch where the 5 desktops and the airport connect. When I am on a laptop I cannot connect to any of the desktops. It does not even see them (and same with desktop to laptop) What do I need to do to share these two on the airport

Configure the AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) so that it the option to distribute IP addresses is DISABLED. That will place the wireless and wired computers on the same subnet.

    Best Regards,

    Hi Markus,
did you check if the browser is using a proxy? (In this case your scenario unfortunately won't work).
P4-port should generally be routed via a proxy (described in the help.sap.com), but within the PI-Tools(JNLP) the proxy-usage is not implemented.  There is even a SAP-note that describes how to check the JavaWebStart-Proxyconfiguration, but this won't help either.
If there is a proxy defined in the browser everything is working fine till you pass the logon-screen but even with the correct "javaws"-settings you won't be able to go on.
(This problem is pretty bad if you do have developers and the SAP-servers seperated because of security issues. I'm hoping that this malfunction will be solved with upcoming patches.)
Solution: Establish a connection without any proxy in between.
E.g.: a terminal server in the same network
It would be helpful to find more people with the same problem to force a fix from SAP for that.
If anyone else is having problems with this, please add a comment to this thread.
    Best regards
    Christian

but any problem with active sync connection on the mobile device after moving mailbox user. I reconfigure the exchange ActiveSync external connection domain (latest.domain.com) on mobile device replacing legacy exchange ActiveSync external connection domain
    (legacy.domain.com)
the process of moving mailboxes successfully without error.
Access OWA for exchange 2007 and exchange 2013 is running normally
access mail from Outlook running normally
Certificate request has been installed and has no problem with it
The OWA virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
The autodiscover virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
ActiveSync virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
user mailboxes are still on exchange 2007 is not problematic.

It is not an issue with my Wifi connection as I have tried over 3G. It is not my Apple ID as I have reset my password checkede all of my details and it works fine on the same Apple ID on my iPad. It is just my phone. I spent and hour on the phone with Apple Technical Support and they could not troubleshoot it, so put me through to a Senior Advisor. The phone line then cut off from Apples end. Even after I say OK to the message that opens it does not let me see my updates, it just shows a badge. Also the purchased bar in the updates section is not there. I can access the rest of the store as well, like the Top 25, Featured, Categories and Search. Just not my updates. It sounds like something so small it's not even worth it but it gets really annoying!
The guy at Tech support went through numerous things with me. Signing in and out of my Apple ID and signing in on a different one. Checking my Internet connection. Resetting my network settings. Resetting all of my settings and have you turned it off and on again? I had tried all of those previous to being on the phone with him.
I was wondering has anyone else had this problem? How can it be solved? Should I take my iPhone into an Apple Store? Should I reset it by erasing all data on it?
    All feedback would be great!
    Thanks

    Hi Hamid,
I had realised that my iPhone Date & Time settings were not on auto so I can manually change them. Also I had heard rumours that other peoples' iPhones were doing the same thing as mine. I had looked into it for a day or so and found the answer on a website from Google.
I checked it and it worked!
    Also thanks
    Jack
