Cannot connect to 127.0.0.1

Hello
I recently changed from TalkTalk to BT. Since then, I am unable to connect to http://127.0.0.1 which I need to do for web development purposes. I cannot find any information on this. All my connections and ping tests work fine. Any ideas most welcome.
Thanks
Tony Kistell

Why would you want to connect to localhost, which is the loopback port?
If you are running a local web server, then you would normally point to the IP address of the webserver on your local network.
I have one running on a netbook and I can access it locally using http://192.168.1.56 or remote via the link below.

    Hello Everyone,
I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.2.3. I created a mobile application by which i do simple search in the database. I successfully created a web service and run it on the integrated server. Everything is great! I'm even able to start the service in a browser on: [http://127.0.0.1:7101/MobileExample-Model-context-root/AppModuleService?WSDL]
However, when i try deploying the application on the emulator, I'm getting the following error on application start up:
Cannot connect to 127.0.0.1 on port 7101:java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused.
I made sure that i am not behind firewall, and i do not have any proxy.
    Any ideas?
    Mohamed.

    Hello user404,
It's for Android. I tried my IP when creating Web Service Data Controls, i get this error:
WSDLException: faultCode=PARSER_ERROR: Failed to read wsdl file at: "http://10.10.30.54:7101/MobileExample-Model-context-root/AppModuleService?WSDL", caused by: java.net.ConnectException. :java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect.
However, if i put "localhost" so the URL becomes "http://localhost:7101/MobileExample-Model-context-root/AppModuleService?WSDL", the data controls are created. But i get the same error on start up.
Also, 10.0.0.2 results in the same errors as when i put my IP address!
    Mohamed.

  • Cannot connect to 127.0.0.1:8080/apex or /htmldb (home page problems)

    Hello there,
After installing for the first time the Database 11g Express Edition on my PC, I cannot connect to the local host, in order to access the home page of the database. The error encountered is from the browser, saying that it cannot find the page. Please help.
This question is posted after *7 hours* of searching the web (mainly on this forum) on which I haven't found my solution, so please read the following before you answer:
    OS: Windows 7 Ultra 32bit
Operating port - the default 8080, which is not used by any other service at this moment (verified with netstat)
Status of Listener: running (verified with lstnerl status)
Browser: Chrome with no proxy (whatsoever)
Services running (and restarted to make sure): OracleServiceXe, OracleXETNSListener and I have manually started OracleXeClrAgent and MTSRecovery
Database: running, according to the "Start Database" batch
    Observations:
    - when issuing netstat in the above presented conditions, I have nothing on port 8080, where the HTTP Server should be
    - according to the executable made by ORACLE, my database is running but when trying to connect with "sqlplus /nolog" as "system" it gives me error number 01033: initialization or shutdown in progress, which is weird. Even weirder is that the prompt changes to SQL, after this error (like nothing happened).
I don't know what to do, honestly. I have tried everything that I found in the search section until the moment, but nothing helped. Can you please lay it out to me, in a simple form so that anyone could understand? My knowledge is limited, this is the first time when I play with Oracle.

I have not find such a file. And the only thing available in Oradata is an empty folder, called XE.
L.E: Oh wait, I found it.

  • Cannot connect to XE after following "How To" Windows XP Pro SP2

    Hi Sharon and everyone,
I have read all related posts, the how-to and tried many times including restarting XE but still cannot connect using SQL Developer. I already have a small schema created using ths SQL Window of XE and can connect using "Toolkit for Oracle" (though this behaves erratically and I don't like it so far). I have succesfully connected also using the XE ODBC Driver from MS Access and INSERTED Rows in a table in the Schema.
I want to use SQL Developer but I get the following message when trying to connect (this PC is Server and Client) :
"Status : Failure -Listener refused the connection with the following error:ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not know of SID given in connect descriptorThe Connection decriptor used by the client was:127.0.0.1:1521:xe"
    Inputs used :
    Username : system
    Password : *******
    Basic Tab :
    Hostname: 127.0.0.1
    Port: 1521
    SID: XE
    TNS TAB:
Network Alias: "XE" (this is the default and there is no mention in the How-To of overriding it at all ! )
If I change the Network Alias to "EXTPROC_CONNECTION_DATA" or "ORACLR_CONNECTION_DATA" I get the same message.
If I try using "Service Name" instead of "SID" I get a similar message but with "does not currently know of service requested". ( All 3 Network Alias values tried)
Please can you help me ?

    Hallo Sue,
Thanks for a prompt reply. It helps to know that the Basic and TNS (and I presume also the "Advanced") Tabs are mutually exclusive.
This does not however solve my problem as when I enter the SID "XE" in the Basic Tab I get the error :
"Status : Failure -E/A Exception :Connection reset" the first time I click on "Test".
If I then click on "Test" a second time I get "Status : Failure -E/A Exception :Connection reset by peer: socket write error "
    The 3rd time I get :
"Status : Failure -E/A Exception :Connection reset" the first time I click on "Test".
    The 4th time I get :
"Status : Failure -Listener refused the connection with the following error: ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptorThe Connection descriptor used by the client was:127.0.0.1:1521:xe"
If I check using lsnrctl status the listener is listening on port 1521 (protocol=tcp, host = swisspair2).
A further problem I have had since installing XE which may be related to this problem is that I cannot start the Database Home Page (despite reading all threads similar on the XE Forum I can't resolve this either). The error I get when trying to start the Database Home Page is "The connection was refused when trying to connect to 127.0.0.1:8080"
Could you suggest any problems that I may have on this "Server/Client" PC (Windows XP Professional SP2)

  • Cannot connect with adobe aplication manager for downloading products

Hi. i subscribed Creative Cloud 3 days ago and have problems with downloading apps.
I cannot login with Adobe Apliation Manager. When i type my AdobeID and my Passowrd and hit login, AAM says, "that it cannot connect to adobe. I should check my internet-connection...".
    My Internet-Connection is active.
I turned off my firewall. And its not working too. The problem cannot my hosts file (only 127.0.0.1 localhost included).
    My System: Win8 64
Any ideas, why i can't login to adobe with my accountdata? With the same data i can login to creative cloud webpage.

No. I tried the "activation-network-i ssues" before 2 times.
    0. Patch installed
    1. I have/had internet connection
    2. I can call https pages
    3. drivers/etc/Hosts was/are clean.
    4. Current User > Trusted Root Certificate Authorities > Certificates is installed/enabled and the correct fields are checked
    5. Firewall was/is turned complety off.
I cannot uninstall AAM. Because i can't find it in "Deinstallation Tool" of Win8. It is not listes. There is only Adobe Flash Player listed.
I removed AAM via adobe cleaner tool. And installed it again.  And this helped not too.
Any ideas how i can solve the problem?

  • ITunes cannot connect to internet

So I can't use my new ipod touch without connecting to the itunes store. I've disabled all my firewalls, yet I still cannot connect to the itunes store. I run the network diagnostics and it fails, but when I click the help button, I see "iTunes Help is unavailable because your computer isn’t connected to the Internet."
Again I have no firewalls running, so how is it that my iTunes program can't connect to the internet?

  • SQL Developer-Cannot Connect

Hi, I have the same problem as the person who posted the question
The history is i already have oracle 10g express edition installed on my system but with it I cannot create tables or execute DML or DDL commands so I downloaded SQL developer .
When it came to the connection I wanted to fill in the Hostname , Port and SID in that order it gave me that same error "The network adapter could not establish connection ", and to fill in those spaces I used the link I saw when opening the Human Resources schema in the express edition(The schema came in the express edition and I used it to learn the SELECT statement). so i tried to use that address and it came in this format :- http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/f?p=4500:1000:3171371893604961
And since SQL told me to fill those parameters as Hostname:Port:SID I felt the use of the last 3 digits i.e 4500:1000:3171371893604961 would have worked but that is what is giving me the error.
I would appreciate the help. Thank you

  • Cannot connect to database via TNS

    Hello!
I installed XE with default settings and have some trouble. I cannot connect to database via TNS. Two symptoms:
    1. I can connect with SQLPLUS system/pwd (locally, without tns name input), but CANNOT connect with SQLPLUS system/pwd@EX (WITH TNS NAME input).
    2. I cannot start Database Home Page.
How to avoid this problem? Any ideas?
    DETAILS:
PC configuration: Win2k+SP4, 512Mb, Outpost Firewall (disabled!), No another Oracle products being installed.

  • CiscoWorks ANI server cannot connect, Joe Clark please help

Joe, if you see this, please help
I noticed yesterday I was getting some Java errors when opening different modules of Cisco Works, Campus Manager, RME.
I rebooted the server and everything seemd to be working fine. I tried to set up Notification Services after the reboot and it seemed to go without incident.
    This morning Common Services shows
"DCA Server is down or inaccessable"
    Campus Manager shows:
"Cannot connect to ANI Server since it is down"
Here is a clip from ani.log:

Reboot has not helped this morning.
I just found out we did some WIndows patches a couple of days ago.

    Joe,
Is there any way this could have been related to me setting up Notification Services?
Something I noticed yesterday is that when setting up "Event Sets", nothing shows up.
Per the document (and I saw this yesterday after a reboot of the server (most likely what caused the problem), I should see a list of items to trigger notification and I can configure nine different sets.
But, I see "No Records" on the Event Sets page.
I see the A,B,C etc, but nothing under them.
After a reboot yesterday, then I saw the items and checked off for the different event sets.
My goal is to have an e-mail alert when switch or router interfaces go down , or high utilization of fragmentation.

  • Cannot connect to Google Server

Can anyone help me figure out why I cannot connect to Google? I'm on a MacBook Pro, running 10.6.8.
    I get the error messages:
"Unable to connect: Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.google.com."
"Safari can't connect to the server"
What's going on? YouTube is fine, Bing is fine, everything else works. Could surfing job search websites have given me some virus?
    Thanks in advance, Valerie

It looks like something or someone has modified your /etc/hosts file.
By far the easiest way to fix the hosts file is to restore it from a Time Machine (or other) backup that predates the modification. If that's not possible, then do the following.
Back up all data if you haven’t already done so. Before proceeding, you must be sure you can restore your system to the state it’s in now. If you skip this step, no one but you will be responsible for the consequences.
These instructions must be carried out in an administrator account, if you have more than one user account.
Select "Go to Folder..." from the Finder menu bar. In the text box, enter "/etc" (without the quotes.) A Finder window will open on the "etc" folder.
Double-click the file named "hosts" in that folder. It should open in TextEdit. At the top of the file, you should see something like this:
    # Host Database
    # localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
    # when the system is booting.  Do not change this entry.
    127.0.0.1                              localhost
    255.255.255.255          broadcasthost
    ::1                                        localhost
    fe80::1%lo0                    localhost
Below that, you'll see some other lines. Delete everything below the last line shown above. Make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom of the document. In Lion, scroll bars are hidden by default until you actually start scrolling, so you may not realize that you’re not seeing the whole document.
Don’t try to save; you won't be able to. Instead, duplicate (in Lion) or select "Save As..." from the file menu (pre-Lion.) In the Save dialog, make the name of the file “hosts” and deselect the option to add a ".txt" extension to the file name, if it's selected. Save the file to your Desktop. You should now have a file named exactly "hosts" with no extension on your Desktop, having the contents shown above.
Now launch the Terminal application, for instance by entering the first few letters of its name in a Spotlight search. Copy or drag -- do not type -- the line of text below into the window, and press return:
    sudo sh -c ' cat Desktop/hosts > /etc/hosts '
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. Confirm. Quit Terminal.
Do not type anything into the Terminal window except your password.
That will fix your hosts file. You can now close the “etc” folder and delete the hosts file on your Desktop. Unless you know how the file was modified, I can’t guarantee that no other damage has been done to your system.

    - (+ASM) Grid Home /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/grid
    - (orcl) Database Home /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1
    - export ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/
    - export ORACLE_SID=orcl
    - Then cd $ORACLE_HOME
    - ./lsnrctl start
    - ./sqlplus to start database
    - ./emctl start dbconsole

Starting Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Database Control ............. started.
Logs are generated in directory /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/ora_orcl/sysman/log
    Result:
    - I can access database from Sqlplus
    - I can't access database from OEM
    - I noticed when I use this ./lsnrstas it takes long time to give me status after I start ./emctl start dbconsole
My question which listener should I use ?? grid or dbhome
and this is the content of emoms.trc I just post last three exceptions

  • Error cannot connect to server or DNS name when working with the SRDemo

I receive the error cannot connect to server or Dns name when trying to
display the SRlist.jspx page in the SRDemo. I am using the embedded OC4J server . I tried to using the debugger to trouble shoot the problem but I did not get any information that was useful. The url I am using is http://localhost:8989/SRDemo-UserInterface-context-root/faces/app/SRlist.jspx I also tried using the IP address that didn't work . I really need to get through this demo.

    What about using:
    http://127.0.0.1:8989/SRDemo-UserInterface-context-root/faces/app/SRlist.jspx
Or disabling any proxy settings your browser might have?

  • Profile Manager not working at all, psql cannot connect to server??

Upgraded existing system to Mavericks. Everything was running fine with Mountain Lion, everything fine on my test server too. After upgrade to Server 3.0, Profile Manager does not work. It cannot be configured.
After reading through posts here and trying their suggestions I find that psql cannot connect to the server and get this error at every turn.
psql: could not connect to server: No such file or directory
Is the server running locally and accepting
connections on Unix domain socket "/Library/Server/ProfileManager/Config/var/PostgreSQL/.s.PGSQL.5432"?
Activity monitor shows it's running, also checked network utility to make sure I could get a connection through 127.0.0.1 on port 5432. It's good too.
Also in the migration_tool.log file the last entry backs up this error.
STDERR  | psql: could not connect to server: No such file or directory
                |           Is the server running locally and accepting
                |           connections on Unix domain socket "/Library/Server/ProfileManager/Config/var/PostgreSQL/.s.PGSQL.5432"?
Where do I start? I think getting psql working is a big first step....

    Thanks Tim,
I manage several different systems so I started comparing the one that doesn't work to one that does work.
On the one that's malfunctioning, this is a message I see often:
Is the server running locally and accepting
connections on Unix domain socket "/Library/Server/ProfileManager/Config/var/PostgreSQL/.s.PGSQL.5432"?
So I checked to see what's in the directory /Library/Server/ProfileManager/Config/var/PostgreSQL/ and got this result.
    sudo ls -la /Library/Server/ProfileManager/Config/var/PostgreSQL/
    total 0
    drwxr-xr-x  2 _devicemgr  _devicemgr   68 Dec  4 09:31 .
    drwxr-xr-x  3 _devicemgr  _devicemgr  102 Nov 13 06:13 ..
    An Obviously empty directory.
Now on the server that's working this is what I get.
    sudo ls -la /Library/Server/ProfileManager/Config/var/PostgreSQL/
    Password:
    total 16
    drwxr-xr-x  6 _devicemgr  _devicemgr  204 Nov 22 17:47 .
    drwxr-xr-x  8 _devicemgr  _devicemgr  272 Nov 22 17:48 ..
    srwxrwx---  1 _devicemgr  _devicemgr    0 Dec  4 09:20 .s.PGSQL.5432
    -rw-------  1 _devicemgr  _devicemgr  139 Dec  4 09:20 .s.PGSQL.5432.lock
    srw-rw-rw-  1 _devicemgr  _devicemgr    0 Nov 22 17:47 .xpg.skt
    lrwxr-xr-x  1 _devicemgr  _devicemgr    3 Nov 22 17:47 .xpg.skt.lock -> 164
Obviously something is missing on the one that's malfunctioning.
I think that pgsql isn't running correctly and like you said Apple moved some things and we don't know where all of them went.
    Any suggestions anybody?
