Cannot connect to Apex
Hello,
I have just installed Oracle Database 11g Express Edition and I cannot connect to apex. When accessing 127.0.0.1:8080/apex and introducing the proper username/pass, the login window refreshes and does nothing else. When going to /htmldb, the user is accepted but I receive an Page Not found error instantly.
I must note that I have connected to the DB, every service is running and that when logging from the command prompt of the Windows 7, my credentials are permitted. Also, this is the fourth time I have installed Oracle this night, because I had some serious issues (but I have followed the complete uninstalling procedure each time, with deleting the cache etc.)
Here's what I've found in D:\ORACLE\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\log\silviu-pc\client\clscl.log
Oracle Database 11g Clusterware Release 11.2.0.2.0 - Production Copyright 1996, 2010 Oracle. All rights reserved.

[ CLSE][3532]clse_get_crs_home: Error retrieving OLR configuration [0] [Error opening olr registry key. The system cannot find the file specified.
I have manually navigated into the registry area and this entry does not exist.
What should I do?

Hi;
For your issue i suggest close your thread here as changing thread status to answered and move it to Forum Home » Database » Application Express which is XE dedicated forum site.

Cannot connect to APEX after server reboot
Hi folks,
i hope this is a simple one for someone who knows:
Im using APEX3.2.1 as part of the 11gr2 install on RHEL5.4. I had everything up and running and had started developing a couple of apps. I had to reboot the box and since then i have been unable to connect to any of the APEX front ends. Nothing else has changed apart from the server reboot.......
Please help.
Thanks,
Steven.is it not the embedded pl/sql gateway that is used on the default install? Which is what i used, i never configured it to use apache http server.........

Hello there,
After installing for the first time the Database 11g Express Edition on my PC, I cannot connect to the local host, in order to access the home page of the database. The error encountered is from the browser, saying that it cannot find the page. Please help.
This question is posted after *7 hours* of searching the web (mainly on this forum) on which I haven't found my solution, so please read the following before you answer:
OS: Windows 7 Ultra 32bit
Operating port - the default 8080, which is not used by any other service at this moment (verified with netstat)
Status of Listener: running (verified with lstnerl status)
Browser: Chrome with no proxy (whatsoever)
Services running (and restarted to make sure): OracleServiceXe, OracleXETNSListener and I have manually started OracleXeClrAgent and MTSRecovery
Database: running, according to the "Start Database" batch
Observations:
- when issuing netstat in the above presented conditions, I have nothing on port 8080, where the HTTP Server should be
- according to the executable made by ORACLE, my database is running but when trying to connect with "sqlplus /nolog" as "system" it gives me error number 01033: initialization or shutdown in progress, which is weird. Even weirder is that the prompt changes to SQL, after this error (like nothing happened).
I don't know what to do, honestly. I have tried everything that I found in the search section until the moment, but nothing helped. Can you please lay it out to me, in a simple form so that anyone could understand? My knowledge is limited, this is the first time when I play with Oracle.I have not find such a file. And the only thing available in Oradata is an empty folder, called XE.
L.E: Oh wait, I found it.

Hi, I have the same problem as the person who posted the question
The history is i already have oracle 10g express edition installed on my system but with it I cannot create tables or execute DML or DDL commands so I downloaded SQL developer .
When it came to the connection I wanted to fill in the Hostname , Port and SID in that order it gave me that same error "The network adapter could not establish connection ", and to fill in those spaces I used the link I saw when opening the Human Resources schema in the express edition(The schema came in the express edition and I used it to learn the SELECT statement). so i tried to use that address and it came in this format :- http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/f?p=4500:1000:3171371893604961
And since SQL told me to fill those parameters as Hostname:Port:SID I felt the use of the last 3 digits i.e 4500:1000:3171371893604961 would have worked but that is what is giving me the error.
I would appreciate the help. Thank youThis post has been branched off from and refers to

Cannot connect to database (10.2 XE) with old data files
Hi,
I was running my database for a while but a couple weeks back it started failing - as in I can no longer connect to it. I tried moving the datafiles (all files under \oraclexe\oradata\XE ) and reinstalling and that makes everything run again with the default database files but when stop the database and copy my old files back in and restart - presto I can no longer connect either by jdbc or by apex ( 127.0.0.1:8080/apex ). My css log file has this in it after I resttart the database and try to connect to apex:
[ OCRUTL][3280]u_set_comp_error: Parameter was NULL
[ OCRUTL][3280]u_set_ocr_error: Parameter was NULL

So, how can I rescue my data or fix what I assume is a corrupted datafile? I had a backup on dvd but now I can't find the dvd so I'm stuck.

User error when connecting to Apex on XE with Oracle drive
Hi,
When I tried to connect to Apex (webdav) on an XE database to access themes and css with Oracle Drive it sends incorrect user or password message, I tried with sys, system and other users.
With windows explorer I could connect using the same user.
Any help to sove my problem is welcome
thanksSteve_Macleod wrote:
I am having some issues with connecting to Apex Listener via SQL Developer. I get "cannot connect to connection" when I attempt to connect.
I do get apex pages (when I use the Glassfish default port - it doesn't seem to take the specified port which is defined as 7788 in the apex.properties at the config.dir location). The port specified in apex.properties is only used by Standalone Mode, the port that GlassFish uses is configured by GlassFish, not Listener.
I have defined the user via the war config (which is written to the credentials file), and added the users under default config > file realm in Glassfish. You only need to do the former, doing the latter should have no effect, I would remove the user in the GlassFish file realm, to avoid causing confusion.
I wonder if anyone has had a similar issue?
Ensure you have spelt the role name correctly when setting up the user, any typos (it is case sensitive) and it won't match the role, and will therefore refuse access.
You have disabled SSL verfication as well? (If you are not using SSL)
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37099_01/doc/doc.20/e25066/install.htm#CHDJFAAI
If neither of those work, try turning on logging in the Listener to see if the request is even reaching Listener (It sounds like it's not even connecting TBH).
https://cdivilly.wordpress.com/2013/03/11/configuring-logging-with-oracle-application-express-listener-and-glassfish/
I am using the following:
Glassfish 3.1.2.2
Apex Listener 2.0.2.133.14.50
SQL Dev 3.2.09

Cannot connect to Oracle XE - install on Mandrake 2005
Hi!
Downloaded Oracle XE and attepmted an install on my home computer running Mandrake 2005. At first it complained about missing libaio so I downloaded and installed latest Fedora rpm. Without problems. Then it happily installed, although at one moment it complained the machine does not meet minimum requirements (only 217Mb memory, hmm why I thought I have 256?). It installed otherwise fine. I run configuration scripts - default ports, system password, start at boot - yes. So far so good.
It created a shortcut for "Getting Started" page on my desktop, but would not make any menu items. OK, after all its not a supported distro. So I pointed Firefox at http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex and got connection refused.
Checked. Process oracle-xe is running. I can start and stop it. Listener is up and listening. There is no firewall whatsoever - we're sitting on a dialup here. Tried to connect as root, no candy. Ahh, yes, I should mention that even if memory is lacking there is about 800 megs of swap and ample diskspace too, so other hardware req's should be OK. So everything is almost like it should. Except that I cannot connect. So can you tell me what else to check and what to try?
Wahur, database newbOracle XE has it's own forum - to register and discuss XE problems with XE experts use URL http://www.oracle.com/technology/xe/registration
Once you have registered, you can sign in to the forums and voila - the link to the XE forum is there. But you do have to sign in. -
Hi,
I had a XE Beta-1 installation running on a XPHome box with some appex applications. Connecting from a remote machine in my LAN worked fine.
After installing XE production release I cannot connect from my remote machine to the XE http server anymore.
I also observed that connecting on the XE server only works when using
localhost:8080/apex or 127.0.0.1:8080/apex in my browser.
Connects on the XE server machine using its LAN IP address fail (192.xxx.yyy.zzz), using the host name fails also and a connect from outside the LAN via Internet is not succesfull as well.
I am not an expert in networking issues - maybe anybody of you can give me a hint?
Thanks a lot
WalterIn the production release only local http access is allowed per default. To allow remote http access you can
SQL>exec dbms_xdb.setListenerLocalAccess(false);
It is documented at
http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25329_01/doc/install.102/b25144/toc.htm#BABIJBHJ

Macbook Pro Cannot Connect to SMTP
I am running a 2010 MacBook Pro with OS X 10.6.8. I use Mac Mail app to send and receive e-mail. Since Thursday 27th Dec 2012 I have been unable to send e-mail. I get the grey spinning wheel until the following error message appears:
The SMTP connection to server “mail.(mydomain).co.uk” failed.
My outgoing mail server is currently showing as offline. In fact I have 2 e-mail accounts and both are showing as offline. No problem receiving mail. Connection doctor connects fine to incoming mail, but not outgoing.
I have tried the following (plus other things) without any success:
Checked all the details, passwords etc
Changed ports from 25 to 465 and 587
Checked my IP address - it is not blacklisted
Removed and re-added e-mail account
Telnet port 25 - it is not blocked, but appeared to successfully connect (from what I understood from checking www)
Temporarily disabled firewall
Re-installed Mac app
Rebuilt mailbox
Repaired disk permissions
Used the repair disk utility
Deselected SSL and changed various options within "Edit SMTP server list"
Reset the keychain
Tried updating software but it says no update available.
Re-instated an old Accounts.plist (and one other file which I forget, something like com.apple.mail) from time capsule.
I then set up a hotmail account on Mail app but had exactly the same problem, ie cannot connect with SMTP server.
However, I set up my e-mail account on my wife's iPad with the same details and there was no problem at all, e-mail sent just fine as it does from my iPhone. So the issue has to be with my Macbook, right? Can anyone help before I go and spent £1250 on a new Macbook? I'm sure I'm missing something obvious. Thanks in advance for any advice.Just FYI, I've had the same problem for months now. I have been accessing my hotmail via the web, but decided to try the OS X Mail app. I could get emails into the account with no problem but couldn't send. I read all the blog and support entries and have tried everything they recommended, like changing my computer name to one word, without success. Then last night, it just so happened that my broadband provider had to change out my wireless modem. As soon as he plugged in the new one, some emails that had been in my outbasket for a month went through instantly and all of a sudden my Mail, both incoming and outgoing now work. So I think people need to look at their router settings for the a solution to the problem.

I cannot update my ipad2 to ios5. Updating through iTunes on pc Windows Vista, Error message reads "cannot connect to iPad Software Update Server. Tried resetting network settings, still not connecting. Tried updating iTunes, still not connecting.
Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html

Cannot connect to other computers on network
We have a small office network with 7 macs on it. 5 wired 2 laptops with Airport Extreme.
We have an 8 port switch where the 5 desktops and the airport connect. When I am on a laptop I cannot connect to any of the desktops. It does not even see them (and same with desktop to laptop) What do I need to do to share these two on the airportConfigure the AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) so that it the option to distribute IP addresses is DISABLED. That will place the wireless and wired computers on the same subnet.

PI 7.11: Cannot connect to server using message server:...
Hello Guys,
we make the Application Management for a Customer PI System.
Scenario:
- the SAP Gui Connection to the ABAP Stack is routed via SAPRouter and Works fine.
SAP Gui -> our SAP Router -> VPN Box from Customer -> Firewall Customer -> ABAP Stack PI System
- WebAccess its working fine, the Customer use Webdispatcher on every PI Server...
Browser -> VPN Box from Customer -> Firewall Customer -> Java Stack (Port: 5xx00 btw. 81xx (Webdispatcher))
Problem:
Our Problem ist, we can not proceed the Integration Builder or the ESB, the Java Web Start works fine and open the Logon Screen Correctly -> but i fill the Logon Screen with my User name and Password and press Logon come the follwing Error:
"Cannot connect to server using message server: ms://<hostname>.<domain>:8134/P4"
In the Details from the Error Message:
"<hostname>.<domain>:53404 Reason: com.sap.engine.services.rmi_p4.P4IOException:
Cannot open connection to host: <IP-Adress of Central Instance> and Port: 53404"
The Customer says, the Firewall is open with the IP Adresses and P4 Port but i dont think so...
Can everybody help me, or have tips for me! I have checked a lot of OSS Messages (PI High Availabilty etc... its all correct on the System)
Sorry for my bad English
Best Regards,
MarkusHi Markus,
did you check if the browser is using a proxy? (In this case your scenario unfortunately won't work).
P4-port should generally be routed via a proxy (described in the help.sap.com), but within the PI-Tools(JNLP) the proxy-usage is not implemented. There is even a SAP-note that describes how to check the JavaWebStart-Proxyconfiguration, but this won't help either.
If there is a proxy defined in the browser everything is working fine till you pass the logon-screen but even with the correct "javaws"-settings you won't be able to go on.
(This problem is pretty bad if you do have developers and the SAP-servers seperated because of security issues. I'm hoping that this malfunction will be solved with upcoming patches.)
Solution: Establish a connection without any proxy in between.
E.g.: a terminal server in the same network
It would be helpful to find more people with the same problem to force a fix from SAP for that.
If anyone else is having problems with this, please add a comment to this thread.
Best regards

Hello, everyone, my name is rafl
I have a problem with exchange 2013 active sync.
I have installed exchange 2013 coexistence with legacy exchange 2007, I have to migrate user mailboxes: [email protected] from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013.
but any problem with active sync connection on the mobile device after moving mailbox user. I reconfigure the exchange ActiveSync external connection domain (latest.domain.com) on mobile device replacing legacy exchange ActiveSync external connection domain
(legacy.domain.com)
the process of moving mailboxes successfully without error.
Access OWA for exchange 2007 and exchange 2013 is running normally
access mail from Outlook running normally
Certificate request has been installed and has no problem with it
The OWA virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
The autodiscover virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
ActiveSync virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
user mailboxes are still on exchange 2007 is not problematic.
only problem with Exchange Active Sync on mobile devices, where I set up an email with android, iphone, windows phone. the error message: cannot connect to the server.
but, if I create a new user and create user mailboxes directly in exchange server 2013, ActiveSync can run without error on mobile device, access through OWA, MsOutlook, Outlook Anywhere also run normally.
only the results of user migration from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013 which is troubled with exchange ActiveSync connection.
any ideas for this problem, and what should I check on the exchange server ..?i have run the activesync test connectivity and get some error :
Testing TCP port 443 on host domain.co.id to ensure it's listening and open.
The specified port is either blocked, not listening, or not producing the expected response.
A network error occurred while communicating with the remote host.

Testing TCP port 443 on host autodiscover.domain.co.id to ensure it's listening and open.
The specified port is either blocked, not listening, or not producing the expected response.
A network error occurred while communicating with the remote host.

The specified port is either blocked, not listening, or not producing the expected response.
A network error occurred while communicating with the remote host.

I have allowed access to port 443 (https) and 80 (http) on the firewall and re-run testconnectivity, but still with the same results. if I enable active sync for users who created directly in Exch 2013 there is no problem with the ActiveSync, just a problem
for users who moved from Exch 2007 to Exch 2013. @Android, iPhone, and Blackberry the error message "cannot connect to the server" -
I cannot connect to my outgoing email server on my macBook pro, yet I can, for the same email account on my iPad. Also I can send emails from the other email account I have on my MacBook...really confused can anyone help?
Sometimes deleting the account and then re-creating it can solve this issue
Write down all the information in accounts before doing this
Highlight the account on the left and click the minus button
Then click the plus button to add the new account and follow the prompts
