Cannot connect to App Store using the App in the dock.
Trying to buy the OS X Lion software. Using the required App Store app just gives message cannot connect to store. Internet connection working fine, can connect to ITunes, Apple, etc, but cannot buy Lion because always redirected to use app in dock which doesn't work. Did all suggested fixes and still can't connect to store. How can I connect using app in dock?
Click on the Dock icon, remove it from the Dock, open /Applications, and use the App Store.app. If that doesn't work, create a new admin user account, and try there or reinstall the 10.6.8 v 1.1 update, repair permissions, and try again.

My ipad2 says "cannot connect to iTunes store" when updating apps
My iPad2 says "cannot connect to iTunes store" when updating apps. Connects properly when buying apps or music - only problem is when updating. I have tried all the suggestions that I have found: soft reset, ensuring that restrictions, changing my apple account password, turning on automatic downloads.
Any ideas? Thanks much.Same here. I have an iPad2, IOS5 WiFi and the iPad can not connect to iTunes store from Videos and Itunes App.
App Sore is OK, and Safari also where connection is ok.
My computer, Windows 7/64 connects via iTunes utility ok.
I upgraded to IOS5 the same day as I got the iPad2, and I am not sure if it worked before.
Any solutions to this problem ?
It looks like that many other users have similar problem. -
I cannot connect to ITune store to download app. I entered my Apple ID and password, and my credit card info, can you help?
Perhaps the reason that your username and password are not recognised is because you have caps lock on.

I cannot connect to iTunes store using iTunes. I have version 11.0.2.26 on Win 7 pc. I have had no problems until recently. Can't say exactly the problem began as I don't normally use my computer to access the store but my last successful access according to iTunes diagnostics was 28th Feb 2013 (if thats useful?!)
I've run the Network Connectivity Test in iTunes diagnostics and I got the following results:
- Network interfaces verified.
-Internet connection verified.
-Secure link to iTunes failed.
When I click the help button next to the 'Secure link to iTunes failed' message I get the following:
''iTunes Help is unavailable because your computer isn't connected to the internet.'
My pc is connected to the internet. I've checked firewalls. Windows firewall is off. I'm running AVG internet security 2013. Iv've checked the firewall settings on that and iTunes is not being blocked.
Getting kinda frustrated. Can anybody help please???I seem to have tracked down the problem. AVG Family Safety software was causing the issue somehow. I have uninstalled it and iTunes now working. I will contact AVG for a solution as I now have no way of blocking certain sites.

I have purchased match but when i try to play a song from the cloud on my ipad it displays a message of " cannot connect to iTunes Store" and doesn't play the song. i have rest both devices.
I called Apple Support and they walked me through it. They told me to basically copy and paste my music to the external hard drive. (I think.) Or maybe it was they had me transfer a folder to the EHD. I don't exactally remember it was a few years back. But I tried to plug in the EHD before starting and...nothing. Still says same thing, "locate file."

Cannot connect to ITunes Store to download apps
I have an iPad 4 running iOS 6.1.3 and when I use my apple I.d. To sign into the apple itunes app store it says "Cannot connect to iTunes store" my date and time is correct, Apple ID and password are correct, I have a good wireless connection, but just cannot connect to the iTunes store. Please help!!!
Morning AyyDoT,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
This article will guide you through the basic troubleshooting for the iTunes Store.
For more information on this, take a look at this article:

I Press on up-dates and it ask for my password and starts to download but then it comes up with ( cannot connect to iTunes) Help please
Now that's really weird.
Hopefully you can find an appropriate contact here.
By the way, do not confuse matters by referring to playing (using) the apps because that does not require a connection to the store. Simply state that you can download new apps but get the "cannot connect to iTunes Store" message when you attempt to update. -
IPod Touch 4G - Cannot Connect to iTunes Store from AppStore App
I have three iPod Touch 4G in the house. All running 5.1.1 iOS. Mine (that I use everyday, can access the App Store and Updates just fine. My wife's iPod (which hasn't been used for a few weeks) cannot access the App Store, Updates without the error "Cannot Cannect to iTunes Store". Both are using the same network router on WiFi. Both have internet access and I can browse on both just fine. All other functions of the App Store app work fine EXCEPT Updates.
She did have 7 updates initially and I went to iTunes under Apps and UPDATED them all with an exception, one of them downloaded but failed to show "downloaded" it still says "update" on a little tag. This makes me think that something is "stuck" in queue within iTunes Store for that account.
I have tried EVERY fix mentioned that I can find and this simply makes no sense.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.Actually this was solved. I found a thread that detailed what to do to fix it and it worked for me.
Essentially, double-click the main button and shut down the App Store (if running)
Go to "Settings", "General" and "Date & Time"
Change the date (turn OFF "Automatic") to WAY in the future (like 2025)
Then back out of settings by using the button in the upper left (so settings are saved)
Now, open the App Store and click quickly on something OTHER than Updates
Now click on Updates - you should get a security warning
Without closing the App Store, go back to Settings, General, Date & Time and set the date back to "Automatic"
Again, back out of the settings to save the date information
Now go back to the App Store and it should load the Updates tab properly. You may need to re-enter credentials.
That fixed it for me. Thanks to HOLEPUNCH for the fix. -
My iPhone 'Cannot connect to iTunes store' when updating apps?
On my iPhone, when i need to update my apps i enter my email & password and it comes up saying 'Cannot connect to iTunes store'. How do i fix this? It's not my phone, i've tried on my sisters touch & dad's iPhone also.. same result. And when I log on to iTunes on my computer, everything is fine.
I had a go at that.. and it comes up saying i dont even have any updates to download.. but i do on my iPhone. It's annoying. Even if i do download the apps on my computer and sync, how are my sisters supposed to update my app on their ipods/iphones?

How get around "Cannot connect with iTunes Store" when updating apps?
I have several Apps with updates indicated. When I select App Store, it goes to the updates but when I try to update, I get "Cannot connect with iTunes Store." But otherwise I can get to the iTunes Store itself. Where does "Report problem" appear? Not on my Touch (which is updated).
Try it from the computer that you sync with, then sync the updated apps over to the iPod.

I am a fairly new apple user, just got the new ipad, as part of an evaluation program. I recently did an iOS update and now keep getting the error message:cannot connect to iTunes Store... I tried date changing - no good ... The only thing that worked was to change the DNS setting to 0.0.0.0 as described in another thread. This fix for a day and now still getting the same error message and DNS setting changes do nothing. I have tried the reset method several times to no avail. I'm beginning tho think the ipad wasn't a great idea.... Apple need to attend to this. Like many, I have already wasted too much time looking for a fix. I am part of an IT in education group that will soon be recommending a specific hardware and OS. Could result in the loss of thousands of ipad sales for apple ....
Anyhow... All or any suggestions are welcome :)Also, I've just learned that I can connect to download new apps, but cannot update any apps I've downloaded in the past. How might I go about connecting my reset apple ID with its history from before it was reset? I assume that is the biggest issue.
