Cannot connect to blackberry 8320.

New install of Blackberry Desktop on my 10.6 Snow Lep Mac Pro.
When I connect my blackberry it asks me for my bberry password... I type it in, then it just says "failed to connect to your blackberry.  please reconnect and try again" ... over and over agian.  it never connects.
any ideas at all?  not much to go on from that.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
From what you describe, you are experiencing the same problems I experienced while traveling internationally and attempting to use my home SIM for international roaming. All adjustments to your account must be made while the device is actually on it's home network...adjustments cannot be made once you begin your travels. Further, you can't really test if the configuration is correct until you begin your travels. Which creates a bit of a catch-22...if they don't configure it correctly, when you travel your services will fail, and they can't fix it until you return to your home network. Painful...I went through it...twice. Two trips with no service, lots of escalation with my home carrier, and finally they got it right and my 3rd trip had proper service.
I suggest you continue escalating with TMO...but recognize that they likely can fix nothing until the device returns to your home carriers network.
Good luck!

  • Blackberry Desktop 6.1.0.35 cannot connect to Blackberry Bold

Blackberry Desktop version 6.1.0.35 (6/7/11 bundle 34) cannot connect to my Blackberry Bold 9650 (sw ver. 6.0 bundle 2333).  The previous Blackberry Desktop version (some flavor of 6) was working just fine. When I tried clicking "installed applications", the Blackberry reacted as though it were being accessed by Desktop, but after a little while, the same message about not being able to connect reappeared.  I've been through the checklist of things to check for troubleshooting, and nothing has worked, even after a reboot.  FWIW, I'm running Windows XP.

    Another Updated, I'm getting there,
Moving .rem files to the media folder using the desktop does not unencrypt them.
Mailing an encrypted pic to myself worked fine.
I changed my camera setting to save to the media card and now I can download the ones I just took with the desktop manager so we're now ok for any future pics.
So, is there a way to get the encrypted ones down to my laptop at this point or do I have to mail them all one a time?
    Thanks
    Gary

  • "The BlackBerry Desktop Software cannot connect with this device." after repair

I download the Desktop Software for BlackBerry onto my Mac Book Pro for the first time.
After installing I connected my PlayBook. I get the message "The BlackBerry® Desktop Software cannot connect with this device."
The program suggested I repair the device software, so I did. After that I set it up and ran the updates.
When I plug it back in I get the exact same message.
    What should I do next?

I also cannot connect to my two playbooks using desktop manager on mac.
One of the two playbooks is now shipped back to rim for repair (see here http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-PlayBook/5MP-Playbook-Camera-Blackscreen-Errors-Ha... The issue of desktop manager not being able to connect to the playbook started with this playbook when the repair I was prompted to to stopped 1/4 way into it. Multiple retries did not make any difference.
Since then, I have tried connecting my other (functioning) playbook to the same mac but when I plug in usb cable I get the same "cannot connect" errmsg and prompted to "repair". I am definitely NOT going to "repair" this one. So I uninstalled the desktop manager and reinstalled it to see if it makes a difference. Unfortunately it did not and I get the same "cannot connect" errmsg.
If anyone has any suggestion how this issue can be resolved that would be great. I think something is stuck on the mac and is not getting wiped out when desktop manager is uninstalled. Thanks.

  • Cannot Call on my Blackberry 8320 but can receive calls

I was wondering if I could get some help.
I recently purchased a Blackberry 8320 off of an ebay store from Japan. It is an unlocked phone GSM phone.
I live in Canada and I cannot make calls, it just says "Call Failed" but I can recieve calls and I can send and receive text messages.
Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
    I suggest the following steps:
    1) Register HRT
Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you will need to contact your carrier for assistance.

  • Cannot connect Blackberry Playbook

I just bought a Jetpack 4620 this weekend and have connected laptops, BB phone, and Kindle to the MiFi device but cannot connect the Playbook.  I have tried every wireless key type without success.  I can see the increased activity on the Jetpack as it tries to connect but either times out, returns to the device listing page, or asks to reenter the password.  I have tried saving the connection and deleting the saved connection.  No dice.  Any ideas?

  • Help with my blackberry 8320 PLEASE

I just installed blackberry desktop manager 5.0 then connected my bb 8320 curve, i needed to install the blackberry messenger to my phone so i went to application installation. I've checked the blackberry messenger and pressed next, then during the installation. my phone shuts off and "fatal error" appeared telling me that the installation was not completed. so i turned my phone on and some message appeared in the start up saying that "Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException" Im scared so i tried my phones applications to see if anything's corrupted. all was ok except for the message. the menu key of my phone is not responding to the message application so i cannot write sms or mms or anything that can be done with the menu key.
Ive looked in the instant messenger and saw the icon of bb messenger, but when i hover it, the name of the application does not shows. so i go to the options > advanced options > applications. to see if the bb messenger was there. but the bb messenger was not listed to the applications.
What can i do to remove this corrupted or incompleted installation of bb messenger? any idea?

You could try uninstalling it again using the desktop manager (DTM). Once you are done, do a battery pull. Then go back and try to reinstall it using DTM. Or you can install it over the air by going to blackberry.com/messenger from your phone's browser. This will install the latest version of messenger available (5.0).

Hello, everyone, my name is rafl
I have a problem with exchange 2013 active sync.
I have installed exchange 2013 coexistence with legacy exchange 2007, I have to migrate user mailboxes: [email protected] from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013.
but any problem with active sync connection on the mobile device after moving mailbox user. I reconfigure the exchange ActiveSync external connection domain (latest.domain.com) on mobile device replacing legacy exchange ActiveSync external connection domain
    (legacy.domain.com)
the process of moving mailboxes successfully without error.
Access OWA for exchange 2007 and exchange 2013 is running normally
access mail from Outlook running normally
Certificate request has been installed and has no problem with it
The OWA virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
The autodiscover virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
ActiveSync virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
user mailboxes are still on exchange 2007 is not problematic.
only problem with Exchange Active Sync on mobile devices, where I set up an email with android, iphone, windows phone. the error message: cannot connect to the server.
but, if I create a new user and create user mailboxes directly in exchange server 2013, ActiveSync can run without error on mobile device, access through OWA, MsOutlook, Outlook Anywhere also run normally.
only the results of user migration from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013 which is troubled with exchange ActiveSync connection.
any ideas for this problem, and what should I check on the exchange server ..?

i have run the activesync test connectivity and get some error :

I have allowed access to port 443 (https) and 80 (http) on the firewall and re-run testconnectivity, but still with the same results. if I enable active sync for users who created directly in Exch 2013 there is no problem with the ActiveSync, just a problem

  • How to connect my Blackberry to the internet

I am on a giffgaff monthly plan with unlimited internet, but i cannot connect my BlackBery to the internet. Everytime i click the browser icon it just says 'connection failed' - my friend said you needed a special code or something and i have no idea where you get that.

    Hi dizzytomboy56
You will have to contact your wireless provider to ensure you have a BlackBerry data plan, which is different than a standard data plan.

  • Why is it so difficult to get an answer on how to connect a Blackberry Bold 9930 to a Windows 7 PC?

I've been jumping through hoops for days trying to get my brand new Blackberry Bold 9930 to connect to either of my two PCs. It will not connect to my new MacBook Pro or a new Windows 7 laptop. I am up to date on all software. This is very frustrating. Can anyone please help? I've read article after article and I cannot believe RIM does not post a fix for this. I've wasted hours trying to get this thing to work. It is no wonder people are moving away from Blackberry.

    Hello,
Well, it works just fine for many people...and there's no way to know, from your post, why it's not working for your specific situation...which quite naturally would preclude posting any sort of fix to your situation. From what you've said, all I can recommend is this:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Desktop-Software-for-PC/Cleanly-quot-Starting-Over-quot-with-...
It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
Of course, if we could know more about what exactly is going on in your situation, we might be able to provide you with better guidance...but from a report that basically boils down to "it's not working", there's really no direction to go in seeking out help for your specific situation. Details about exactly what you try and exactly what results may be more helpful.
Also, here is the list of other troubleshooting articles...hopefully something will be useful:

  • Playbook 2.0 cannot connect to Gmail

Well RIM BlackBerry Playbook 2.0 is here and it's dissapointing to learn that it is just as big a pile of %Y%#  as 1.X.
Cannot set up Gmail through any of numerous different ways. (Gmail, IMAP, Exchange... you name it.)  All different ways generate all different kinds of errors such as cannot connect at this or username and password is wrong.
It's really great to see we waited 8 months for nothing.

  • Cannot Connect to AE After Coming out of Sleep Mode

This happens on both my iMac and Powerbook. I don't normally use wireless on the iMac but I discovered that both computers are having the same issue when troubleshooting. When coming out of Sleep mode, the Airport device cannot connect to the Airport Express. The only thing that can consistently connect is my Blackberry.
I know it's not a reception problem as when I am able to connect, the signal is strong and speeds are very good.
Some things I have tried to fix the problem have worked but not consistently as the problem keeps happening:
-Turn Airport off and back on (On the computer)
-Unplug and plug back in the AE
    -Turn off MAC Address Filtering
    -Factory reset the Airport Express
-Select the Join Other Network option and re-enter my wpa2 credentials
    -Uncheck Closed Network option
What could be the problem? I'm really thinking there is a software bug somewhere. I have also noticed if I make any changes in the Airport Utility the AE never recovers as it stays a solid amber. I have to power cycle the device.
It's using software version 6.3 and all my OS X updates are the latest. This is very frustrating. Any help appreciated.

I have tried both remedies mentioned above. I double-checked and my network is listed in the wireless advanced settings. It's the only network in my list. Airport is at the top in my Network Preferences as well.
I was hoping the update to 10.5.8 would help but the problem keeps occurring. One thing I have tried is leaving the "Closed Network Option" unchecked for my AE. Now, I am discovering when exiting sleep mode, I see my network but when it tries to connect, I receive the error "Connection Timeout". This happens on both computers.
The only thing that works the most consistently is unplugging the AE and plugging back in. Once I'm connected, it works great.
I tried using iStumbler to see if there were any other networks using the same channel but that looks okay.
I guess I can try using a different security setting other than WPA2, but then that is not really a solution. I'm about ready to just try some other newer wireless solution. It used to work flawlessly. I think until 10.5.4, I had no issues.

  • Cannot connect Playbook to computer. Tried all fixes.

    Hey,
since a few weeks my PlayBook just cannot connect to my computer. The desktop software sees it but doesn't mount it, nor can it access files.
I have seen fixes about TCPIP NetBios Helper service not running or anti-virus. Nothing helps. I can see the network connection in "Manage Adapters" but that doesn't seem to help.
Is there any fix planned? The Playbook is now useless.
    I am on Win7x64.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hey,
thanks for your reply, but you can trust me that I tried everything I was able to find here to fix the issue.
I have found the fix myself now.
The service "Workstation" was disabled and once I started it, the PlayBook instantly connected and everything works fine. No driver issues, no "Client for Windows" missing issues, no TCP-IP Helper issues. It was something completely undocumented.
Find the Service under Services in Windows 7 (just type into the start button search)
Workstation - Creates and maintains client network connections to remote servers using the SMB protocol. If this service is stopped, these connections will be unavailable. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.
BlackBerry should add this to the KnowledgeBase and document their dependencies properly.
