Cannot connect to email settings

Hi, I am travelling for 4 months and have been using my BB without any problems. I have no call roaming only sms roaming and then also data access through wifi. Recently I got an email that says: "Your BB device cannot access [my] email account. The password might have changed. To continue using email on my BB device, you must validate [my] email account by verifying the password." When I then click the link provided to validate my account, the device tries to 'check for updates', but then fails and I get the following error message: "Your connection to the mobile network is turned on, but you are not in a wireless coverage area." My BBM and sms services still work, as well as all other apps or services that use data. Only my email is giving me problems. I also cannot access my email account settings through the setup menu, I get the same error message. Any help to solve this will be much appreciated. Thanks, Bevinn

It may or may not be related but I recently acquired a Q10 in the UK and now find that it cannot access my primary btinternet address email account (to receive emails) whilst roaming which is the main reason I bought it. Over several weeks, the supplier, network provider and btinternet have all been unable to resolve this. The Q10 has also been back to BB to look at. Any experience/solution welcome please. Richard.

  • Unable to connect to email settings

Where do I go from here - I cannot connect to email settings.  I am receiving and sending email with no problem at all.  It also will not connect to internet, so is probably related.  Is this Sprint/Blackberry or ???

I solved this myself after stumbling on something in Blackberry Desktop.
The problem was when I clicked on email setup the Blackberry just hung or the timer displayed briefly and nothing happened.
I went into the device and removed the LATEST VERSION of the Email Setup Application.  This left 1 version which I could not remove.
However this did not resolve the issue.
I started up Blackberry Desktop and looked at the applications that were installed (selected from the left panel).  This showed me that the Email Setup program had an update outstanding.
I clicked on ACTION in the bottom right of the Blackberry Desktop on the Applications page and after the update was applied Voila !!!  I can go into EMail Setup from the device and all is ok.
    Hope that helps someone.

  • Connecting to email settings

    Hello
Ever since this morning my Blackberry 9300 hasn't received any mail. I have two accounts set up on it, a Gmail account and my work webmail account.
If I try to go into the email settings, I get message: 'connecting to email settings' and an hour glass and eventually 'your device has a problem connecting to the server'.
I have tried on both the WIFI at work and the Virgin Media mobile network.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

There have been some intermittent internet outages worldwide the past day or so (NOT caused by RIM this time).  Your carrier may have been victim to that.  I'd suggest you wait until morning and try again.  If you still can't get anywhere, let us know then and we'll try some of our magic.
    I hope that helps you.

  • Cannot connect and email or go on facebook app

Hiya, I only just brought my backberry curve 8520 but it does not give me the option to set up an email account, only an enterprise one. Also I have downloaded the facebook app but it will not let me sign on it says that it cannot connect to facebook try again later (100).

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
To use the proprietary RIM Push email capability, you must have an adequate data plan from your carrier. The carriers host BIS for their BB users. Typically, BIS is not available via generic data plans. Many carriers call what is necessary The Blackberry Data Plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier who delivers BIS to their BB users -- contact them for assistance. Once you have a BIS-capable data plan on your BB (at whatever fees your carrier will charge, btw), you will then have Personal Email added to the email setup wizard (and FB will then work as well!).
    Good luck!

  • Ipad cannot connect to email server

Since I updated my iPad to ios 6.1 last Thursday I have been unable to access my email. It appears that it cannot find the email server. My wi-fi is working fine. I have looked at all my settings and am mystified.  My iPhone update worked fine and I am getting mail on my iPhone. Is it possible my iPad is "locked out"?

I was able to fix it by deleting the account and setting it back up again.

  • Cannot connect my email server to Mail.

Hey... so I'm trying to connect my yahoo mail account on apple mail, but when I try to send something a message always comes up saying:
"The server “plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk” cannot be contacted on the default ports. Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later to leave the message in your Outbox until it can be sent."
So does anyone know how to correctly connect a yahoo account? There's a bunch of funny abbreviations like POP & SMTP, I don't know what those mean... Can anyone help?
    Thanks

A couple of questions to clarify things:
    1. Your profile shows you are in Vancouver, WA (USA); yet you are saying that the yahoo mail server you are referring to is in England?
    2. You need to check your settings in Mail and tell us if you have a POP or IMAP account with your ISP (Internet Service Provider). My guess - if you are in Vancouver - you have Comcast? Which would mean it's POP, but we need to make sure.
You can see that information in your Preferences -> Accounts.
    3. If you are in the US, Yahoo does not offer automatic forwarding of emails unless you are willing to upgrade to and pay for the Yahoo Plus (I believe they still offer it free in some parts of Europe, but not in the US).
SMTP simply means "outgoing mail server" and, if you are on Comcast, it would read "smtp.comcast.net"; that information would also be available in the Accounts pane.
Without getting more in-depth information, we can only guess at this point. If you'd be able to set up Yahoo, you would have to follow Yahoo's instructions on server name and port numbers. That information is available from Yahoo.

  • BT Connect IMAP email settings

I have a BT Connect email address and want to use IMAP configuration to ensure emails deleted on my iPad are also deleted on the email server. This does not happen with the current POP / SMTP settings. BT Connect emails are delivered using Microsoft Office 365, after a change last year.
After 4 calls to BT helpdesks being given configurations for BT Internet / Outlook configurations etc, I was eventually given these settings but I just can NOT get them to work:
Incoming: imap4.btconnect.com, No SSL, Port 143
Outgoing: imap.btconnect.com, No SSL, Port 587
I spent an hour in the local Apple shop with one of their experts trying to configure my email account with IMAP - and Exchange - on my own iPad and a shop iPad and a MacBook laptop: all without success.
Does BT Connect actually support IMAP at all?
Surely I am not the only person with a BT Connect email address and an iPad wanting IMAP?
Please can a BT email expert advise?!

Yep, ignore my previous post, missed the bit about moving to Office 365 in original post.
BT Business needed a reliable e-mail service, not run by Yahoo or Critical Path
Which I often wonder why anyone would try to run a business on a residential account, as we seem to get many posts regarding this.
BT Business is a little more expensive, but loss of important e-mails, is lost business.

After updating to ios 6.0.1 on ipad I am unable to connect to exchange 2003 server while connected to internal office wireless.

  • Cannot connect Internet / Email, though I have network connection

    Hi -
I just moved and had Cable internet installed, though my Macbook Pro is not connecting to the internet. I'm using a Motorola cable modem (bought back in 2005) and hooking it directly, via ethernet cable, to my computer. The lights on the modem all seem to be fine. The "PC Activity" light is lit (solid). When I check the preferences on the computer, it says "connected," but there is no internet or email.
I've tried the diagnostics tool several times, and each time I get to the question about if there is a cable modem hooked up to the computer directly to restart the modem and click continue. I do this over and over, getting the same message.
I'm also trying to set up my Belkin wireless router (also purchased 2005), but I have the same issue. Airport finds the network and seems to connect, but I get no internet.
    My service is Charter, fyi.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    -Jennifer

OK cool. Lets just do one step and we will get that working then we will move on.
    1. Disconnect the modem from the Belkin router
    2. configure your IP address on your Mac like we did before under System Preferences > Network; then on the "Configure" drop down menu select "Manually" now enter 192.168.2.10 subnet mask 255.255.255.0 Router 192.168.2.1
    3. Connect the Mac via Ethernet to the Belkin LAN port
    4. Open the browser and navigate to the router like before.
    * This part you will need to get your owners manual for more help but I will tell you what to check for.
Looking at the Belkin router web configuration page:
    1. Look for Internet connection (may say WAN) and make sure that it is set to DHCP
    2. Make sure that the LAN side does have DHCP running and you have specified address range. Generally from 192.168.2.10 - 192.168.2.254 (You do not have use that whole range but make sure you have at least to 192.168.2.20)
Now while still connected open system preferences and change the Manual setting to "Using DHCP"
Give it a few seconds and it should pick up an address from the range we specified. Once you have received an address go back to the Belkin web configuration web page and refresh. You may be prompted for your user name and password again. Once you are back in go to "Status" (or something like that) there should be a place where you can look at your WAN (Internet) address that has been assigned to you by your MODEM.
Now plug your MODEM to the WAN port of your Belkin and give it a minute, you should see an IP address in there. IF you do not, unplug the MODEM wait about 30 sec and plug it back in. Then check on your Belkin web page to see if you have received an IP address.
Lets get this working and then we will figure out the wireless. But do not worry about the IPv6, we are concerned with an IPv4 address.

  • Adobe Reader cannot connect to email

    Hello,
our company recently purchased a tablet that is running Windows 8 operating system. When I try to attach my PDF file to email by either using the Submit button or by going to File->>Attach to email.. I get the error message "Acrobat is unable to connect to your email program".
On the tablet there is a "Mail" application which is what I am using. on this application you have to add an email account: I have tried using an account from Live, Outlook and Gmail and none of them have worked.
In the other forums someone had posted that you have to set your default program access to the specific mail program. However when I go to Control Panel>>All Control Panel Items>Default Programs>Set program Access and Computer Defaults and expand the "Custom" section under 'Choose a default e-mail program:" the only option that is there is "use my current e-mail program". adding or deleting email accounts in the Mail program does not give me any more options.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this issue?

ah makes sense. Do you know where that information is found? Is there a list of the mail programs that it works with? It would have saved us a lot of wasted time if I had just known that one simple thing about Adobe.

  • Help!! Cannot connect to router settings with IP address

I am trying to access my router by typing http://192.168.1.1 into safari but keep getting the message "Safari could not open the page “http://192.168.1.1/” because the server stopped responding."
Can't understand why this is happening as it is definately the correct IP address.
    Can anyone help??
    Many Thanks

Then that means you Mac is perfectly communicating with the Router. Just to check open Network Utility and Ping to your Router 192.168.1.1. If you get a reply/responce back then of course that means it does communicate. If you try Safari agin and it does not connect then shut down your mac for 5 min and unplug the electrical cord of your router for 2 min and replug and start your mac. Sometimes there can be electrical "glicthes"

  • "cannot connect to email program"

I just installed scanner software that came with Adobe Acrobat Standard.  When i was using Reader I had no problem sending pdf docs as email attachments.  Now I get this message.  I've gone to the windows control panel for the default programs, etc. and my email program (america online) is not even listed.  I do not understand, it all worked fine with the free reader software and now I have this standard version and I am having this problem.  Any suggestions?

    Hi,
Did you mean to login on www.outlook.com?
Can you login this email in other browser like Chrome or Firefox?
Consider this issue can be caused by corrupted cookies or temp files, please clear these in IE:
Open Internet option -> Under Browsing history -> click Delete, Check on cookies and temporarily internet files items -> click Delete.
    Then try again.
