Cannot connect to iTunes error comes up when I try and download a movie from iTunes. What do I do?
I tired moving the date and time ahead by a few years. I changed my DNS to 8.8.8.8 - nothing worked. Any suggestions?

Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

Try this and see if it helps. Refresh your iTunes account. Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to purchase again. -

When I try to rent a movie on my Apple TV it states that the purchase could not be completed. My password is correct and location, user id, and other settings are correct. What is the problem?

Black screen when I try to rent a movie from itunes
I've paid for and downloaded a rented movie from itunes. I now have 24 hours to watch it, but I can't get past a black screen. Basically after pushing play itunes seems to almost freeze. Any ideas?

I am trying to edit a home movie on iMovies on a mac book air. The movie is on a dvd but when I try to import the movie onto iMovies I get a message saying there are no importable files. I've downloaded the macx converter software but I can't seem to download the movie into that either.
Chris , thanks for the prompt reply. The dvd was produced by a third party that I found on line . I had a number of old mini digital video cassettes from a Sony Handycam. I can play the DVD's on my laptop but I can't edit them on iMovies to delete a lot of the rubbish on them. I have five DVD's and three downloaded without any problem but the last two are according to iMovies non importable.

Cant watch a Rented and downloaded a movie from Itunes on airplane
I recented read that I could rent and download a movie to my IPAD for viewing later. I did this and planned to watch on my international flight. When I tried to watch the movie Itunes wanted to connect over the internet 1st, since I had no internet on the plane I was not able to view my rented movie. Was there something I did wrong or do you have to have a wifi connection to select your downloaded movie from the Itunes library for viewing?
You do not need Internet access to watch on rental movie on the iPad if you are offline. Are you certain that the movie completely downloaded?
Assuming that the movie downloads completely to the iPad you do not need a WiFi connection to watch it. -
I rented two movies from iTunes using my iPad. They show us as purchased but will not run from there. I get a message saying I have 24hours to watch then it just goes back to iTunes. I looked in video app where they usually go and nothing is there. Any ideas for a fix are welcome?
ThanksYou did try tapping on one of them in that list in the iPod app! This has happened to me and I was able to start the movie from there. You could try restarting the iPad, go into the iPod app and try again.
Now I'm stumped unless it is a corrupt download. You did download right onto the iPad - correct? If you downloaded in iTunes, there is a Move tab or function that you have to select to transfer the movies to the iPad when you sync. They just don't sync over without selecting move. -
5th generation iPod Nano - iPod syncs with my iTunes and I can see it in iTunes, but when I try to move a song from my iTunes to the iPod I get an error message "Cannot by synced, Unknown error occurred (1039). System works fine with my 4th generation iPod Nano. I'm afraid to "RESET" my iPod because I may not be able to restore my music and videos afterwards.

The details are listed in the question. However when I try to send an email message I get a message that says mail can't be sent but when I look in my sent file it shows the message sent.
yes it should be covered using 1 year warranty. You cant get refund unless you have some customer protection program. So call applecare, I dont know the number in the UK.

Make sure you are using the most recent version of iTunes and QuickTime. They both can be downloaded free of charge.

Are you entering the correct password for the account?

I have been trying to download the new updates for Aperture , Safari, and Iphoto. I click update and it gets the download bar but it doesnt get passed 0 KB when downloading the apps. Previously I had gotten the NSURLErrorDomain error -3001.)(102) but that stopped. Why is it doing this?
