Cannot Connect to iTunes OR Download New Copy.  Please Help!

I was trying to update my account information earlier today when I noticed I couldn't log into my account info or the iTunes store. I figured it was a temporary problem, but no luck as of a moment ago. I get an error message saying the session timed out and I should check my connection. Well, my connection is fine on Safari and Firefox, so I figured I'd simply reinstall iTunes from a freshly downloaded copy.... except I can't download iTunes either! I tried using both Safari and Firefox several times, reset my computer, reset Safari (in the vain hope it might be that simple). Still no go.
Is anybody else having a problem like this - or does anybody have a potential solution? I am running no antivirus, and no firewalls beyond what is packaged with OS X. Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi - I'm having exactly the same issue. All other internet apps are running fine, but iTunes store is giving the message that you're getting. I've gone through the troubleshooting support website with no results, so have the feeling it's not my computer but an issue with the store itself. I was able to purchase a song late last night, so it's only a recent thing for me, and I haven't changed any settings since then, so I can't think what else it could be.
I guess we just need to wait and see... Good luck!

    Same here.  I don't know how to solve the problem, but I figured out a way to close the app without re-starting or resetting the phone.  If you click ok and then press the home button twice really fast before the dialog box shows back up, you can put the phone in multi-tasking mode and close the app without having the shut the phone off or reset it.  Anxiously awaiting the fix for this since I have several apps I use that I can access at the moment.

  • Cannot Connect to iTunes Store - Download music from iCloud to iphone 4s

    Hi,
    Desperate for help.
    I have the iTunes match service on my iPhone 4s. All of the songs in the cloud are showing as available to use but when I tap a song to play the song appears on the screen but not play. I have tried using my 3g and internet connection but to no available. When I try to download an individual song by tapping the iCloud logo button I get the message “Cannot Connect to iTunes”.
    I am definitely signed in to iTunes on the phone. iTunes match is definitely switched on.
    I have tried switching the phone off and on using regular and hard reset method. Every other aspect of the phone is working fine. I have even download a new song on iTunes successfully.

    I am able to log into iTunes from my iPhone (i checked my account info)
    But, I am unable to update any Apps through the App Store.  Everytime I try, it comes up with the error "Cannot connect to iTunes Store"  
    And that's where I'm stuck.

    Did you try everything here:
    iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    including
    Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
    or
    Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    Does it charge?
    Does it appear as a camera?
    Have you tried a different cable? USB port?
    Try another computer to help determine if you have a computer or iPod problem.

    Update:  I tried the "Toshiba Recovery Wizard" after everything else either fizzled out or hung up. After going all the way thru the recovery process (up to 100%), I finally got an error message.....it didn't work. And now, when I fire up the computer, I don't even get to that menu with the recovery options....the only thing I can boot into is the screens with the various ways to run your OS (in "safe mode", "safe mode with networking", etc).
    I'm not a techie, but I'm guessing at this point, the part of my hard drive that got damaged in the fall was, at the very least, the partition with the recovery data. Couple that with the fact that this cheapo Toshiba laptop didn't even come with recovery disk (or ANY kind of disk, even basic installation software!), I'm screwed: I don't see any way to get a workable computer now without some kind of disk to boot from. So NOW my concern is more about spending the $$ for a new OS and THEN finding out the hard drive has other problems too...is broken in some other way to boot.
    How to check this? As I said, I did run "chkdsk" back when I could get into the recovery menu and run the fix-it programs. It didn't note any problems. Thinking of taking this opportunity to upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista (which I never liked), but I have to know that the computer is otherwise ok....how to be sure? Help!!

    My son is also getting this exact message on both our new laptop with Vista and the older desktop with XP. I am NOT having this problem on either machine. He has 18 downloads waiting and can't download them.
    I have checked firewall settings, pop up blockers, outdated account info, and msconfig. I have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes and still am having this problem with his account.
    I also tried logging into his user account on both the laptop and the pc and then logged him out of itunes and then logged myself in to see if it was the installation. I had NO problems. I then turned that around and logged into my user account on both the laptop and pc and then tried to log him into MY installation of itunes, but OOPS, got the error message again.
    This has been going on for months and appears to be arbitrary. Sometimes a song will download, but sometimes another won't. He bought an album and only some of the songs downloaded. The others are "waiting to be downloaded" and when we try to "Check for Purchases", he still gets the message, even though he's IN THE STORE!

    I have an HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC (64-bit OS) running Windows 7 (Service Pack1).  My iTunes was corrupted by the recent Apple update that went around. I found several forums on how to uninstall iTunes.  Through much trial & error I was able tosuccessfully uninstall iTunes and it's related programs but now cannot reinstall.  This is how I uninstalled:

    For RE-INSTALLING this is what I have been doing (I've tried this 5 or 6 times now and it still is not working):

    Try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

    If you use IE instead of Firefox for the download, do you get a working installer?
    If you still can't get a working installer from the standard download page, try the following direct download links for 11.1.5.5:

    See if any if these suggestions get you connected again.
    Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off. Set the date one year ahead. Try to update the apps again. If you get an error message, go back to the settings. Correct the date and time (set automatically) then go back and try to update the apps again. You may have to experiment with the date a little bit... A year ahead, a few months ahead ....
    Or ....Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Or ....If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
    Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try again.

    I'm not sure what you mean by "iTunes is not enabled" -- if you read the above link, the question is whether you've previously synced with the iTunes application on a computer. If you have, you connect to iTunes on that computer. If not, you follow the "Use Recovery Mode" procedure near the bottom of http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212

  • Cannot Connect To BIS! Tried Everything​! Please Help!

    Hello. This is such a complicated problem so it may take a while to explain.
    I have a Blackberry Bold 9700. Ive had it from May 2010, I had a restriction on my phone for no more than 3 hours, and when my services came back on my BIS wouldnt work.. But here is the weird thing.. I can access webpages, Its just apps and also blackberry messenger that wont work. My phone says 3G and has the blackberry symbol at the top right hand corner.
    I phoned up o2 (I have done 4 times) and they told me to do the following:
    options > advanced options > host routing table > blackberry button > register now
    this didnt work so they suggested this:
    setup > set up email
    this didnt work either, so they also suggested this:
    o2email.co.uk > register
    so the final thing they told me to do was
    settings > advanced options > service book > and delete everything apart from anything that says provisioning and had my email address in it > reboot
    but this didnt work either! they said my connections to the blackberry network were active and fine and i should be recieving this all. I have rebooted my blackberry several times, and it has been almost a week since this happened so this should be enough time for the network to come back through!
    Can someone please help?! Ive contacted o2 so many times and they dont seem be able to fix the problem!

    When you say  "I had a restriction on my phone for no more than 3" what exactly do you mean? Who put the restriction on your device? 
    I suspect that you do not have the correct data plan to allow you to use BBM and setup email. Have you recently changed your service plan?

    iTunes does not support drag and drop for iOS devices.
    Connect either the iPod or iPad to your computer, launch iTunes.
    Select the iPod (iPad) under Devices left side of the iTunes window in the source list.
    Select Books from the menu.
    Then click the Sync button bottom right side of the iTunes window.
    You can select All Books or Selected Books.

    I had the same problem as you describe and the following solved my issue:
    1. On the Iphone choose "Settings"
    2. Choose "iTunes and App Stores"
    3. Click on the Apple ID ( icon )
    4. Choose sign out.
    5. Then sign in again.
    After that you should be able to download apps again.
