Cannot connect to iTunes store - error -3212

iTunes is telling me that I cannot connect to their store or to my account. But I am connected to the internet as writing this support request should prove. The message says 'an unknown error occured - error (-3212)'  This error only happened yesterday and is happening with both of my iPods.  I have rebooted my laptop.  When I did the iTunes Diognostic Check it says 'secure link to iTunes Store failed' but the others passed ('Network interfaces & Internet connection verified').  My computer is only 1 yr old (Asus Model U47A - i7, 8gb ram) and one iPod is only a week old and another is older.  I hope there is a simple solution as I am not very tech savvy.  I have checked online and have not seen this error anywhere.

I 'played' around with my Norton 360, did a scan, etc, and whatever I did something seems to have done the trick. It is solved and I am able to connect to iTunes store.  I wish you luck with your -50 error.

  • Itunes cannot connect to iTunes store error 306

Hi, I think I originally posted this on the wrong forum. So I will repost and hope for the best.
Up until recently I used to connect to the internet via airport and everything worked fine. I could connect to iTunes store no problem.
The connection was all set up by the local phone company and somehow they connected the iMac to airport via a modem.
I know that this appears to defeat the point of airport but it worked fine.
I had connection problems with the modem (it was old and needed replaced) that was attached to the airport and iMac. I arranged for the telephone company to come and replace the modem. However, although they replaced the modem and the internet connection is fine.
What they did not do was to reconnect the Airport device and now I cannot connect with iTunes store. Now instead of connecting to the internet via the Airport connection I now connect via Ethernet
The error message I get is
"iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. An unknown error occured (306).
Make sure your network connection is active and try again."
I think that if someone could advise how I stop trying to connect to the iTunes store via Airport but via an Ethernet connection
iMac intel Mac OS X (10.6.6)

iTunes Store loads partially or returns "Error 306" or "Error 10054"
Proxies, parental control settings and software, security or filtering software, or a bad iTunes Store cache can cause this.
To address proxies, Remove Internet Options proxy settings  ( http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1490 ) and connect to the Internet without a proxy.
    To reset iTunes Store cache:
In iTunes, choose iTunes > Preferences (Mac) or Edit > Preferences (PC).
    Click the Advanced tab.
    Click the "Reset cache" button.
Click OK and see if the issue is resolved.
    Adjust Parental Controls in iTunes:
    Open iTunes.
    Access iTunes preferences:
On a Mac: From the iTunes menu, choose Preferences.
On a Windows PC: From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
    Click the Parental Controls tab.
    Remove restrictions on Parental Controls.
For more information on parental controls or content filtering software, see iTunes 10.5 for Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store.

  • HT1933 I get a "Cannot connect to iTunes store" error. How else can I report a purchase?

    Hello there!
I just received a receipt for a game I have purchased for two friends (two distinct account without cards attached, so the game was purchased twice as a gift) but I have been charged for three copies and I want to report this problem.
So, naturally, I clicked on the Report... link under any of the purchases and I get the message:
    "Cannot connect to iTunes store".
I don't want to let this get away. If there is no way of getting my money back, I want to have the game on my account as well!

Change your Date & Time settings from Automatic to OFF and then change the date a good month ahead.  Open the app store from Passbook.  Should load perfectly.  Once you get in, change the date and time back to auto.

  • Getting "cannot connect to iTunes store error from one appleID but another works fine

I have 2 apple ID's, a personal one, and one that me and a couple of coworkers share so that we can share apps we purchase.  I cannot log into the shared AppleID from my ipad.  I can from my PC so I know it is not an incorrect password or anything like that.  I get the error "cannot connect to iTunes Store".  Is this because too many of us are logged into the same apple ID at once?  I tried changing the password so that it would kick everyone else off, but even with a new password I get the error.  I am able to login with my personal apple ID just fine, so I know it's not an issue with my wifi or my ipad software (i don't think).  anyone else experienced this and found a solution?

    Hello 66ladybird88,
I understand you are trying to access the iTunes Store on your Windows computer but are getting an alert with the number 0x80092013. There is an article that address this kind of alert and has some great troubleshooting steps for resolution. I understand the alert in the article is slightly different than the one you are getting but I recommend the same steps listed.
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4123
    Resolution
The cause for these issues is a program that monitors the Winsock protocol for Windows conflicting with Apple software. These programs usually use a Layered Service Provider (LSP) that can help identify the particular program installed. The programs that monitor this protocol have a variety of purposes, including security software, content filtering, and optimization of network traffic.
    Thanks for reaching out,

  • Cannot connect to iTunes store - error messages in Win XP event log

I've been reading the posts and trying to connect to the iTunes store unsuccessfully for at least a week since installing the latest iTunes 9 update.
I've tried every suggestion I have found without success including uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. I also used MSCONFIG to do a selective startup without services and then started iTunes, no luck with that.
I just went to Administrative Tools->Event View to look for clues.
Every day since March 31, 2010 there are multiple error messages for Bonjour Service. Probably one error for every time I tried to go to the iTunes store.
All of the Bonjour error messages are the same.
    The error message follows:
ERROR: read_msg errno 10054 (An exsisting connection was forcibly closed by the remote host)
I can see my store account information, but when I click DONE the process hangs.
When I click on iTunes Store, the status bar goes about half way and hangs. No error messages.
When I run iTunes network connectivity tests the results show a "Secure link to iTunes Store verified"
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Update to my original post
Still cannot see the iTunes store. Here is a list of what I have tried so far in addition to what I mentioned in the original post:
Changed parental controls to only allow access to iTunes U - cannot see iTunes U
Changed parental controls back to allow all access - cannot see the store
Updated my network driver - no change
Investigated the Error code 10054 on the internet for a solution.
    Found this posting:
    http://www.sqlservermart.com/resources/SynAttackProtect.aspx
Changed the registry as they recommended to include:
    HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\SycAttackProtect{DWOR D} = 0
    Rebooted and no change.
iTunes network diagnositcs indicates I am able to connect to the store, but the status bar still hangs up about 1/2 way into the attempt to connect.

  • Cannot connect to itunes store (error -54)

    Hi,
I am using iTunes (10.2.2) on my G5.  I have Intego's VirusBarrier X6, but have allowed all outgoing connections for iTunes.
For some reason, iTunes will no longer connect to the iTunes Store.  The message that comes up is: "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store.  An unknown error occurred (-54)".  This issue is not affecting my other Mac which basically has the same configuration other than it is running 10.6.7 rather than 10.5.8.  Given that I was previously able to connect to the iTunes Store through the G5, I don't see the operating system as being the problem (and I certainly hope it isn't as I cannot upgrade the G5 past its current OS).
I haven't been able to find a previous posting that matches my problem.  I have opened a dialogue with Apple but, so far, the only advice has been to install the latest version of iTunes (which I was already using).
Is anyone able to suggest a reason for the problem, and a means of fixing it?  Happy to provide any further details that are required.
    Many thanks.
    Mark

I have found the answer to my problem - so I may as well share it.
The problem was Intego.  When I deauthorised the software, iTunes started working normally again.  I'm not sure why Intego was causing the problem (particularly as it works happily with iTunes on my other computer).
The next challenge is to work out how to get Intego back on without disrupting iTunes.

  • Cannot connect to iTunes store - error #5002 Unknown error, try again later

I have been browsing through the postings to find an answer to my problem - however no luck so far. I have run the diagnostic test, and (even though it is in Danish) at the very end it says that connections have been established successfully.
Still I am not able to connect from iTunes but receive the above error #5002. I can connect to the Apple store directly (using store.apple.com/us)
Here is the result of the diagnostic test:

Can't connect to the iTunes Store

  • TS1368 I got the "cannot connect to iTunes store" error while making an in-app purchase.  The app did not upgrade with my purchase.  If I try again, will I be charged twice?

The purchase was made on the new iPad with wifi only.  I was connected to a network on both my iPad and my laptop, with no other issues.  The error occurred after It prompted me for my credit card info, it asked "do you still want to purchase?" then asked me to enter my password again. That is when I received the message.

Plug your phone to your Mac or PC.
    Open Itunes.
Transfer the purchases from your Iphone to your Mac
Go to Books on itunes on your library (Mac not the iphone) and drag the book back to your phone.
That should do it. It worked for me.

  • HELP! when I click on App Store from my desktop, I get an error message: "Cannot connect to iTunes Store". What does this mean?

After I get the abovemention error message, the only option I have is to click "OK". Doing that gives me a white blank screen with the only option to "Cancel". Clicking on that brings up an Update screen to update an app I never downloaded. What's going on? How do I get rid of this?

    Saw this on another post.
Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it!   It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.
    In the meantime ...........

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.
