Cannot connect to network

I run Leopard on Intel Mac and I have Apple TV, which has previously worked fine. However, I have recently moved house and when I have come to set the system back up, ATV can not find the network created by the Mac, although it does manage to find networks belonging to my neighbours! I have tried to find the network manually but ATV then tell me 'There was a problem connecting to the network. Check your settings and try again (0)'. Which I assume means it merely can't find the network because I also tried entering a random network name and came back with the same error message.
To create the network I have gone to System Preferences/Network/Airport then chosen Create Network and clicked OK without changing the default settings ie Channel: Automatic (11).
Also, I am running ITunes 7.7 and needless to say ATV is not showing up in there either.
I feel like I have tried everything, but obviously I haven't. Please, can anyone help me out??? This is driving me crazy.

You need to have BlackBerry ID to run BBM and BlackBerry App World in your phone. Check the below KB article to know what is BlackBerry ID: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB29610

  • "Sorry, I cannot connect the network right now" - Siri has become fairly useless for me.

I having been giving Siri a fair shake since I know it is still very new.
9 times out of 10 my Siri responds, "Sorry, I cannot connect the network right now"
I have tried disaling, and enabling in Settings
I have tried enuciating clearly, in a quiet environment.
I have tried everything I can think of, and basically just stopped using it.
    Any thoughts?

A forum search would have found dozens of threads discussing this Siri server issue the last 2 days.  Some have found that resetting the phone helps, at least temporarily:
Press both the home and sleep/wake buttons until yhe Apple logo appears.

  • Single account on imac can see but cannot connect over network

This one is driving me crazy:
As of this morning I cannot connect to other computers in our network. Using other accounts on the same imac is no problem, but mine simply refuses.
I can see the rest of the network, connect to the internet, print, etc., but if I try to actually connect to another machine I get the error that it cannot find the original item (the error is in Dutch so I cannot give the litteral version)
Network, firewall and sharing settings seem to be the same as the other, working, accounts as far as I can tell.

OK, we found the problem. my permissions were screwed up...

  • I have an HP Photosmart Premium --Windows op system. Error message: cannot connect to network.

Printer worked for awhile --then would not but if I unplugged it and replugged it then it would work.  Now I get an error message saying it can't connect to network.  How do I fix this.

    Hello Steve,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with the iTunes Store.  I recommend the following steps for error (-3212):
    "Error 3000" through "3999"
Alerts with codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the gs.apple.com server on ports 80 or 443. This may be because out-of-date or incorrectly configured security or firewall software is interfering, or due to your Internet proxy settings. If you are using a proxy, try removing the proxy settings, or using a known-good network. If that does not resolve the issue, follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.

  • Airport Express G cannot connect to network

    Hello,
I have the Airport Express (G version) running the 6.3 firmware. My problem is that I cannot connect to my home network. When I use the airport express to create the wireless network, I can connect the Windows and Mac machines to it to stream iTunes and all works perfectly. When I connect it to my home network (Linksys WRT54G running dd-wrt) I cannot connect anything to it once it is configured. I set it up from the mac and all the network settings are transferred to the Airport Express. It seems to connect for a minute then the connection drops. Sometimes iTunes sees the Airport Express and it tries to connect but is unsuccessful. I cannot edit the airport settings from either machine without resetting it to factory defaults and reconfiguring.
The problem seems to be the Airport Express doesn't want to play nice with the home network. Does anybody have any suggestions?
As I am writing this I cannot remember if I have had the Airport Express working since I've installed dd-wrt. I know it worked pre dd-wrt and am hoping that isn't the issue.
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Jared

Express works fine with third party routers including the WRT54G, but once you modify it you're on your own. I'd go to the dd-wrt forum and ask around.

  • I bought new Iphone 5 and trying to activate it. It says itunes cannot connect to network try again?

This new iphone 5. i try activating it on wifi through phone it says i need sim card. and using itunes it says error cannot connect to itunes network try again. This is gsm unlock phone !

Did the receipt say unlocked? Apple sells iPhones without a contract but
still tied to a wireless carrier, and iPhones that are not tied to a wireless
carrier. Both are are the same price. Price paid is not a guarantee of an
    unlocked iPhone.
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=About=>Carrier?

  • After i updated to ios7.0.3 always says cannot connect to network on my wifi

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • ITunes cannot connect to network

I know other people are having connection issues, but I don't know if mine is the same problem. I've already had proxy connection issues with Firefox, which happened right after AVG quarantined a virus...I'm thinking that messed with my proxy settings. I fixed it on Firefox by changing a setting but now iTunes is not connecting. I'm getting a "network connection timed out" error when trying to connect to the Store and when I try checking for updates (I don't have the latest version of itunes) it says "The iTunes update server could not be contacted."
I've seen the help page entitled "iTunes for Windows: can't access the Internet if proxy settings are incorrect" but I don't understand the last few instructions. I don't know anything about this kind of stuff, so feel free to explain it to me like I'm an idiot.

  • Airport card and ethernet show connection but I cannot connect to network

I have an iMac where I can connect to the internet within 10-15 seconds of turning on airport or plugging in cat-5 wire to use the ethernet connection. After this time frame I must turn airport off and then on to regain the connection. Or, if hard wired, I must remove the cat-5 and plug it back in. I have seen many posts similar to this on forums. However, all of the posts pertain to a wireless connection only. I have tried most all of the solutions people have offered including zapping my PRAM. Unfortunately, I have had no luck with any of them.
    Three things to note:
    1. I believe this problem occurred after a power loss at my home. No power surge - just lost power. I can't be certain on the timing but thought this should be mentioned.
    2. I have upgraded from 10.5 to 10.6 to try to rectify the issue - didn't work.
    3. I have switched from comcast to AT&T - different router/different connection/different network preference - and nothing changed.
So, the problem is not with the connection itself as I am able to connect for a few seconds. It doesn't pertain to the OS as I have upgraded and still no fix.
Thanks in advance for your help.

You have not detailed the router being used..
Please tell us if you are using an apple router and which one.. exact model will help.
Is the modem also a router? And wireless?
Try clearing out all the old settings from the wireless.
Reboot and do a clean setup.. certainly if there is an apple router it should have a factory reset and a new clean setup.
For ethernet it doesn't work like wireless.. it is based usually on dhcp.. things can go wrong though.. test with a static ip set on the computer.
Sometimes just age catches up.. old computers and routers and cables.. you need to test with new routers, new cables and new computers.. to locate where a problem is actually occuring.

  • SOS Only - cannot connect to network

My phone now only shows "SOS Only". I've been reading many threads related to this issue, and tried lots of methods to solve the problem, but so far no luck.
    Details:
    iPhone 4
    iOS 5.0.1
    iTunes 10.5.2
    Carrier: Virgin Mobile 11.0 (Australia)
phone was bought outright (unlocked), and the SIM is also unlocked
A bit of history: I bought the phone from apple, and used an australian SIM card (pre paid - virgin) for a while. In July I moved to singapore, got a new SIM/number, and in the process of living there lost my original aussie SIM. Yesterday I returned to australia and went to the Virgin store to ask for a new SIM with the same number (that I had before I left australia). They did this for me no problem, and the new SIM gave the message "SOS Only". The bloke at the shop said it would find the network in about 30 minutes. I went back 2 hours later, still no change. They said that because it was jsut after xmas, lots of people were connecting new numbers, and that I should wait 24 hours.
Today I went to the shop again, and they tried a few things with their tech support. They tried it again with a new new SIM and still the SOS Only remained. Their suggestion was that the phone needed to be synced with my computer, so I went home.
Synced the phone and it said "there is an update avaliable for your carrier settings" and I assumed that this would solve the problem. I updated, synced again, and the same "carrier settings" message came up. It repeatedly came up each time I plugged it in or restarted the phone, but the SOS Only message remains. It seems that the carrier settings are not actually being updated
I have been reading related threads and tried the following:
    restarting the phone
turning on/off airplane mode, 3G, mobile data, wifi, roaming,
    resetting network settings
    hard rebooting the phone
restoring from backup (12 months ago)
restoring from backup (2 hours ago)
turning off, removing SIM, inserting and turning on
Searching for carriers manually (Virgin does not show up, but i am sure their network is online)
I've reinserted my singapore SIM and it works fine
Note: I have been overseas and not used my australian number for FIVE months. The guy at the store assured me that only after 6 months does the number "disappear" and that shouldnt be the problem.
HELP! This is so frustrating and I don't know why it is happening. I think it is a problem with the "carrier settings". I think tomorrow I might go back to the shop and get another SIM with a different phone number. After that, I may go to the apple store and get help from a "genius".
Any suggestions or if you want any more info please reply, and thank you so much in advance!!!

I am havign the same problem, i sent my phone away through NextByte in Mackay Queensland for a cracked screen, when i recieved it back today, the sim card wont pick up carriers or any signal. I searched for a bit last night, apparently there is soemthing inside the phone which could be damaged. And after reeading further on, i read that once it is damaged, the phone cannot be repaired. my phone also says searching.... the i search for carriers manually (Telstra does not show up, but i i call called them and their network is online)
....so i dont really know if this was any help, but you could try getting a sim replacement? which is what i have been told to do

  • Mac air cannot connect to network

Everythibh in my room including iphone, ipad and another laptop can connect to the wi-fi in my home
however, Mac air always shows "!" on wi-fi icon n cannot use the internet!!!
    What should i do???? thanks

When you see an exclamation point in the Wi-Fi menu, first turn Wi-Fi off and back on. If it still fails to connect, then from the menu bar, select
     ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network
Click the Assist me button and select Assistant. Follow the prompts. You may get a warning that Wi-Fi is not available, that you're too far from the base station, or that you're using the wrong password.
Assuming that you've ruled out those possibilities, restart the computer and try again. If there's no change, click the lock icon in the lower left corner of the preference pane and authenticate, if necessary. From the Location menu at the top of the window, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click  Applyand test.
If there's still no connection, and if you have control of the router, compare its settings to Apple's recommendations. Some third-party routers may be incompatible in 802.11b/g/n radio mode. Try setting the mode to 802.11n only.

so does anyone know how to fix this so these pages Auto show up again then Hopefully I can connect via Leopard instead of using my Bootcamp here .

    hi mate
