Cannot connect to VPN on my iPad

I am trying to connect to my office VPN from my ipad but i am not able to do so. I have created a new VPN connection with the following details:
Connection Type: PPTP
Server: VPN server address
Account: UserId
RSA SecurID: Off
Password: Password
Encryption Level: Auto
Send All Traffic: Off
Proxy: Off
I am able to connect to the same VPN using my PC quite easily but my ipad gives me the following error:
"A connection could not be established to the PPP server. Try reconnecting. If the problem continues, verify your settings and contact your administrator".
The VPN shows following status while trying to connect:
Connecting --> Starting --> Authenticating (Fails here).
Please assis.

First, try a reset: Hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go.

Do you have any problem with apps? I can download or update apps without problem. Also no problem with podcasts, but no music, no video or movie: cannot connect to iTunes Store :(

  • Cannot connect to VPN through NetworkManager anymore.

I cannot connect to VPN through networkmanager anymore. Last time used it, it worked perfectly but I don't use it so often and last time was 2-3 months ago. So I don't know what went wrong, or which package upgrade broke it.
I switched to systemd a month ago, it may or may not be related.
I can still connect from the commandline using the vpn/vpn-disconnect tools.
All that happens is an alert windows saying: "The VPN connection '......' failed because there were no valid VPN secrets." And here is the journal:

Google did not turn up any useful info other than a few year old threads saying "upgrade your networkmanager".

Well, I managed to get the auth dialog to show up reliably by applying a couple patches from this Bugzilla: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=679212
Still getting breakage in that it's not properly authenticating:

  • I get an error message " cannot connect to iTunes " on my iPad, what causes that?

I get an error message on my iPad "Cannot connect to iTunes store" when I try to connect for updates.  Any idea what is causing that?

No idea what causes it, but it does happen. Try this.....
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off. Set the date one year ahead. Try to update the apps again. If you get an error message, go back to the settings. Correct the date and time (set automatically) then go back and try to update the apps again.
    Or this ....
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

  • TS1424 Cannot connect to itunes store via ipad

Hi guys. I Try to open itunes in my ipad2, but a massege popup "cannot connect to itunes store" ... What should i do?

Ok, I found a solution that worked for me when trying to connect to the iTunes store by tapping the "update" button in the "App Store" app on my iPad 2. Before the solution was implemented I'd always get the error message "cannot connect to iTunes store". Once the solution was implemented I now can connect to iTunes using the "update" button in the "App Store" app and I get the normal message "All apps are up to date". The solution is this:  go into Settings, then General, then scroll to the bottom where it says Date and Time. Tap Date and Time and then turn OFF Set Automatically. When you do that a new option will be added that says Set Date and Time. Tap it. You'll now get a drop down feature. Set the Date AHEAD 2 YEARS. The Time you can leave alone.
Once you do that you might get a bunch of reminders and messages that your apps and stuff haven't been updated in two years. Click cancel or close on each of those messages or reminders. Now go back into Settings, General, Date and Time, and turn Set Automatically back to ON. Reboot your iPad. Open the App Store app again and go to the Update button. It might ask you to log back in to your iTunes account. It should now work. If not, close the App Store app completely and open again and try the update button. Hope this helps.

    Hi,
Safwan Hashan napisano:i dont know which output you referring but this is output from the VPN client.
    We need more information.
I expect debug output from the ASA.
To enable debugging and syslog messages, perform the following CLI steps:
    1.
    ASA#configure terminal
    ASA(config)# debug crypto ikev1 127
    ASA(config)# debug crypto ipsec 127
Enable debuging messages for IKEv1 and IPSec.
    2.
    ASA(config)# logging monitor debug
Sets syslog messages to be sent to Telnet or SSH sessions.
Note: You can alternately use the logging buffer debug command to send log messages to a buffer, and then view them later using the show logging command.
    3.
    ASA(config)# terminal monitor
Sends the syslog messages to a Telnet or SSH session.
    4.
    ASA(config)# logging on
    Enables syslog message generation.
    NOTE: This you have enabled.
    Cleanup CLI
    ASA(config)# no debug crypto ikev1
    ASA(config)# no debug crypto ipsec
    ASA(config)# no logging monitor debug
    ASA(config)# no terminal monitor
More information: Sensible Debugging and Logging
I have one suggestion. Change and try.

  • Cannot connect to iTunes store on iPad

I installed iOS6 on my New iPad (wi-fi & cellular) and keep getting a message that I cannot connect to the iTunes Store.  I have tried the "fix" that involves changing the date but this did not work.

Did you Sign Out and Back in to iTunes...
    There is also this...
    Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the steps in this article to force the device into recovery mode.

  • Cannot connect to iTunes Store via iPad

When I am outside of my home wi-fi I cannot connect to the iTunes store via the App Store on my iPad.  iPad software is current (updated this morning at home).  Rebooted iPad.  I can access the internet via Safari, get current email, run Netflix, etc. but cannot access iTunes store via the App Store.  This issue happens whenever I use a public wi-fi (hotels, airports, etc.) rather than my home wi-fi.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

  • Cannot connect to iTunes store on iPad 2

I am trying to buy and App on an iPad2 i Find teh App put in Apple iD and Password and it come back saying "cannot connect to iTunes. I have access to internet, email and such so I am connected to Internet. Any ideas. Never tried it from this device before.

Thanks for the suggestions Mario.  Unfortunately everything I've tried so far has failed.  My Apple ID works on all my other devices as well as when I log into my account online and through iTunes on my MacBook Pro, iMac, iPad3, iPhone 4S, iPod.
This iPad works fine in every other way except that I cannot connect to the iTunes/App store.  I can login to iCloud and I can receive updates from the iPad.  I can access Safari and login to my iTunes account via Safari from the iPad.  From all the research I've done, this is a very widespread problem for many users.
Here's what I've tried so far:
    1. Reset with home button and sleep/wake button.
    2. Restore via iTunes on my MacBook Pro with OS X 10.8.5 and version 11.1.1 of iTunes
    3. Backup via iTunes.
    4. Reset all settings from the iPad.
    5. Reset network settings from the iPad.
    6. Creating a new Apple ID.
    7. Using a different Apple ID.
    8. Changing the DNS from the iPad for my wireless settings to 8.8.8.8
    9. Using a different wireless network.
    10. Just using cellular from the iPad instead of wireless.
    11. Tried to buy a song from iTunes.
    12. Tried to update an app on the iPad.
    13. Tried downloading an app.
    14. Tried to sign into iTunes to view my purchases from the iPad.
    15. Called Apple Educational Tech Support and was told that I've tried everything and they didn't know how else to help me.
    16. I contacted the iTunes support team and was told that my issue of not being able to sign into iTunes from the iPad isn't handled by that team and that it was considered and iPad hardware issue and that I needed to contact AppleCare support (which I did).
    17. I tried changing the date from "Auto" to one month ahead, one year ahead and back to Auto.
I pray that you might know of a solution Mario.  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.  I've been working on this everday for the past 3 weeks.  My iPad is out of warranty so I can't get it repaired/replaced without paying a huge amount.

  • Cannot connect to VPN through Time Capsule.

I have setup a VPN but my buddy cannot connect to it unless he bypasses his Time Capsule (2011 model)  and connects his Mac directly to his cable modem.
The Time Capsule is setup with DHCP to lease out a different IP range than my VPN.
We have looked over all of the Time Capsule settings and cannot seem to find anything wrong.
My brother has a similar setup except using just a nornal Air Port Extreme and has no problems connecting to my VPN.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Port forward using the v5 utility.. I have strong suspicions about the v6 for port forwarding.
It does depend on what particular VPN you are talking about.
    Check what ports are required.
You can load v5 utility even into Mountain Lion .. as well as later Lion versions thus and so.
How to load 5.6 into ML.
    1. Download 5.6 for Lion.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
Click to open the dmg but do not attempt to install the pkg.. it won't work anyway.
Leave the package open on the desktop so you can see the file. AirportUtility56.pkg
    2. Download and install unpkg.
    http://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/
Run unpkg on the desktop.. If your Mac refuses to run the software, because it wasn’t downloaded from the Apple store, go to security in preferences and allow other software to work.. this is limitation of trade methinks. You can set back later if you like.
Now drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. in finder, open the new directory, drill down.. applications, utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
You cannot uninstall version 6 (now 6.3 if you updated) so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. although I have had no problems when doing so.
