Cannot connect when not granting acces to akamaitechnologies!!!

Hi,
Since a few days my firewall asks me that I have to grant access to the infamous akamaitechnologies(a194-109-192-7.deploy.akamaitechnologies.con) when starting sqldeveloper. If I refused I cannot connect!!!????. Before I have to grant access to bigip-www-adc.oracle.com (see my earlier post) and I get the same error: "I/O exception. The network adapter cannot establish the connection". vendor code 17002
STILL NO ANSWER: WHY SHOULD I GRANT ACCESS MY COMPUER TO COMMUNICATE WITH AKAMAITECHNOLOGIES FOR USING SQLDEVELOPER???
I dont like that external computers poking around in my computer.

I did not see your earlier thread. It is best to reuse your initial thread and not to open a new one, as I had to go in search for your query and see if there were any other comments on the thread. This is not something from SQL Developer. You should definitely refuse that connection.
In terms of the I/O exception, can you use SQL*Plus to connect to your database? Are you using a basic connection or tnsnames?
What release of SQL Developer are you using? What platform? What database? what jdk?

  • Lose wireless connection when not in same room as wireless modem.

When I try to use my z60t laptop in another room in the house I cannot connect to the internet.  The signal strength is either very good or low.  When I am in the office where the wireless modem is located, my signal strength is excellent and there is no problem.  My husband does not have this same problem with his HP laptop.  I also get a good signal with my iphone all over the house.  After calling Verizon it was determined that it is a computer problem.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Lisa

100% certain that I am connecting to my modem. And yes the password is a good one too. As I said, I have no troubles connecting when outside a 5metre or 15feet (for those of us who aren't metric) radius of the modem. When closer then that, the connection will usually drop out.

  • Linksys WAG54GS Router - iBook G4 Cannot Connect When Encryption Enabled

Hi - I have a HP laptop and Apple iBook G4 with a wireless connection transmitted through a Linksys Wireless router. When encryption is disabled, the iBook can pick up a signal and I can browse the internet, when WEP encryption is enabled, it cannot. The HP works fine. I add the WEP key to the iBook but it cannot connect. I've tried the two 128bit encryption options and the standard option, but none of them allow a connection. Is there a specific way to secure your internet connection/router when using an Apple? Any ideas/comments appreciated.

Flames1977, Welcome to the discussion area!
Hopefully the information in KB 106250, Mac OS X, AirPort: Connecting to Third-Party Base Stations will help.
Also if the Linksys has several locations for keys, make sure that your WEP key is in location #1. Apple does not support any other location.

  • Lync 2013 - Office 32 bit cannot connect when attemtping to share from preset Outlook Meeting

I have Office 2013 32 bit version installed on my computer running Win7. I cannot use 64 bit as another software that I run will not work with 64 bit.
When I set up a meeting in Outlook 2013, and set it as a Lync Meeting, I can start the meeting and people can call in and connect. When I attempt to share my desktop or monitor or anything, it does not connect to allow me to share. If others in the meeting
attempt to share their desktop, the same happens. I get a Connecting Icon at the top of the screen and then eventually a message that says cannot connect to the server. This happens everytime, I try to do a Lync meeting this way.
If I call someone with Lync and Share my desktop or monitor, I am able to share with no issues.
I have tried, uninstalling and reinstalling Lync. I have tried to install latest updates. I have tried to repair office. None of these work.
Others in our office with the same set up do not have this issue.
Any ideas how to resolve this?

    Hi,
It may cause by the issue of the FE server MCU, please double check if MCU on FE server works well, when two participants are connected, the session is essentially peer-to-peer. When three or more participants are connected, the desktop
Sharing feature depends on the Front End Server Multi Point Control Unit (MCU) to provide the sharing stream to all parties.
Please check if port 5065/TCP is available on Front End server.

  • Odd problem with iPhoto always seeing my iPhone as connected when not

I have started having a problem with iPhoto8. When it starts it always goes to the import photos screen and has a couple dozen icons (with no image) and filenames to import from my iPhone. The problem is my iPhone is not connected. It shows up as mounted on the left side of iPhoto. I can right click and unmount it and it goes away, but next time I restart iPhoto it is there again. If I try and click Import all it goes through the motions and asks to delete the originals, I select yes. Then it displays an error dialog with all the filenames listed saying they are corrupt or blank (which I would expect because my phone is not connected).
Does anyone know why it thinks my phone is connected when it is not or what to do?
    - James

Do you have wifi sync enabled for those devices?
Select the device, click the Summary tab.
If it is enabled, there's no need to eject the device, even with the cable plugged in.

  • On updating Firefox cannot connect as not connected to internet

    Unable to connect
Firefox is currently in offline mode and can't browse the Web.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your mobile device's data or Wi-Fi connection.
How do I get it to connect without deleting and reinstalling.

    Hi Paul.gifford,
There are a couple of troubleshooting tricks that you can try in order to resolve this issue.
#Open a new tab and swipe over to the history panel
#Long tap on the entry and remove the cannot connect entry
#Close Firefox from the app manager
    # Toggle the connection on the mobile device if you are on wifi
    # Open Firefox and open a new tab to the website you were trying to visit.

  • My mac is constantly  dropping my wi fi connection when not in use for a while - annoying.

Recently my Mac has taken to dropping  the wi fi connection -  it seems to happen if the Mac isnt used for a short peiod of time say 10 mins or longer . It is very annoying and  it never used to do this. When you come back it tells you no connection and then  looks for the nework and says it cant find the prefeered one. I have reset newtork preferences to id/connect to  my home wi fi netowrk but the problem persists every time I ause use fora while. Really annoying. Is this something to do with a  recent OS software upgrade? Does Apple have a fix ? I am getting increasingly annoyed with  thier upgrades which are apparently  desighend to improve software but which  then degrade another apsect of performance. Any answers?

Hi Bibii and welcome to Discussions,
first of, you have posted in the Mac Pro section not the MacBook Pro section here http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=190
Anyway, is this really a shutdown or is it just sleeping ?
If sleeping check the Energy Savings settings in the System Preferences for when your MBP should go to sleep when inactive.

  • VPN Client 5.0.00.0340 on Vista says connected when not

    Hi all,
I'm using VPN Client 5.0.00.0340 on Windows Vista to connect to one of our customers.
When I go to connect and type in my password, it always seems to authenticate correctly and connect to the VPN successfully.
However, about 75% of the time, even though it says it is connected, I do not actually have a connection to the customer network. I can't even ping the servers.
If I disconnect and reconnect repeatedly, on about the third or fourth attempt, I will actually get a connection that works, allowing me to access the remote network.
Does anyone know why this might be? Could it be an issue with my network settings, a setting in the VPN Client software, or even something at the customer end that is set up incorrectly?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Chris

    Hi,
There's quite a few bugs related to version 5 and Vista. You might want to check the bug toolkit to see if there's anything relevant (including CSCsq34291 which may or may not be related).
Does it work on XP and have you tried rolling back the VPN client version to 4.x to see if it improves things (I've had to do this before).

  • Cannot connect when 2 macs on trying to use internet

    Hi,
I just bought the i3 iMac...we were given an iMac that is 3 years old just after that. The problem is when my wife is on the older mac and I'm on the i3, I can't access the internet -- it's set up wireless with airport extreme. She has no problems. But if I'm online 1st, there's no problem for either of us.
Next, I had transferred all my data from my Macbook Pro to the i3...but now I cannot access our wireless with that laptop. As you may be able to tell...I am technically challenged!
Thanks for any and all help!

    Hi, nimiokoka. Try this:
Open AirPort Utility, which can be found in the Utilities folder of your Applications folder. Click on your Extreme in the sidebar, and then press "Manual Setup." If you're asked for a password, enter it.
Press "Internet" in the toolbar. Look at the "Connection Sharing" field. If my suspicions are correct, it will be set to "Off (Bridge Mode)." If the Extreme is your main router, you'll want to set it to "Share a Public IP Address." Then press "Update" and allow your Extreme to restart.
    Does this work?

  • Having upgraded to lion my imac drops the internet connect when not active

I have just upgraded to Lion and when I leave the computer unattended for a few minutes it drops its internet connection - therefore does not collect any email until I click on the Airport icon and reselect the network. Also when starting up the and automatically loading Firefox the home page shows the previous download.

    I FINALLY SOLVED THIS ISSUE!!!!
New routers have "mixed" modes for your network; this means that it will automatically choose the best option between wireless-B, wireless-G and wireless-N network modes. I used to experience this issue using the 2.4 GHz. mixed mode wireless network.
Thankfully, my router can create 2 networks: a 2.4 GHz. network and a 5 GHz. network.
When I randomly changed this value to "use only wireless-B and wireless-G" trying to fix an issue with a wi-fi expander, the iMac wi-fi  issue dissapeared! I tried it with wireless-N only, but it didn't work.
So, finally, I have a 2.4 GHz network with only wireless-B and wireless-G modes which works PERFECT with the iMac, and a 5 GHz. network with a mixed* wireless mode for everything else mode.
*PD: by "mixed" mode it means that the router will automatically choose between B, G and N network modes as it fits better.

  • Cannot connect when wireless security is enabled

I have a linksys wrt54g ver.6 wireless router. My Dell laptop running vista can connect wirelessly to the internet just fine when I have wireless security disabled on my wrt54g router.
When I enable security (I tried WEP) the network connection on my laptop fails and I see this message in vista’s “Connect to a network” window:
"The settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network"
Any ideas on how to fix this?   Thanks!!!

Open network & sharing center ..... click manage wireless networks
Configure the wireless settings manually .....
Reboot the computer & see if it is connected to the network or not .....

  • Buddy calls me successfully, but I cannot connect when he calls me

I have iChat 5.0.3 on 10.6.5 on an MBA (late 2010).
When I video call a buddy, I get the connection failed as he "failed to respond message", but if he calls me we connect successfully and the video call is perfect.
Before I start to tinker with router settings, does anyone have any advice here please?
(sorry if this has been addressed in the fora, but I couldn't find the right search string!)
    Thanks

    Hi,
iChat in Video (or Audio Only) chats is a two stage process.
First the Visible Invite is send by the Buddy.
iChat then starts the SIP Invite (It is this that the Log is about and is what is "not Responded" to)
This SIP bit sends another Invite (it is in fact on another port).
Part of the Process checks that the IP that any response is coming from is the same one the Visible part of the Invite went to.
To receive Visible Invites port 5678 has to be open in any router.
The SIP bit needs ports 16393-16402 to be open. (iChat only uses one of them in 1-1 chats the others are effectively "Spares|)
Is your Buddy actually seeing the Visible Invite ?
Of not he most likely needs to open port 5678 and 16393-16402 (ON UDP Protocol if he has to state Protocols).
If his router has UPnP this may be easier to use if he has multiple computers at his end.
This is an Enable/Disable settings and then allows the apps to tell the router which ports to open (they close again on most routers after a period of Non use)
In total iChat uses 20 ports.
One of these, used during Screen Sharing is random so it is difficult to set this port in Port Triggering or Port Forwarding.

  • Fireworks CS6 Trial cannot connect when I try to sign in.

I've recently downloaded the Fireworks CS6 trial. I get the screen that promts me to sign in with my Adobe ID. Once I click the Sign In button I get the loading animation amd after a moment it will tell me to "Please connect to the Internet and retry." The issue is, my computer is connected to the internet and for what it's worth, my clock is set correctly as well.
I can also sign into the download assistant without issue.
    Any insight would be appreciated.

What exactly happens when you are trying to install the latest Skype version on your computer? Any error message?

  • Bluetooth automatically connecting when not in use

My car has bluetooth and is set up that when you are connected to an ipod, it will play through the port in the car unless bluetooth is connecte. Bluetooth will override the MDI port. The phone has no problems connecting, but everytime I receive a text, or notification, my phone automatically connects to my car and cuts off whatever I am listening to. This used to happen only when I chose a song, which is what it is supposed to do. Any idea why receiving a text or notificiation would activate my phone into connecting to the bluetooth? I've tried a soft reset and don't have too many other ideas. Thank you

    Hi,
Depending on which headset you are using the headset may disconnect to a kind of standby mode. The headset will auto connect to your phone when you are placing or receiving a call. Depending on which software you can also force a connection by tapping the call button.

  • Message: "Access denied cannot connect"

Running Network Magic (5.5.9118.2-Pure0) on Windows XP SP3 (2 machines) and Vista SP1 (1 machine). Receive the message "Access denied cannot connect" when trying to print to one of two printers hardwired to the Vista machine from one of the XP machines (laptop). The Vista machine can print to the other XP machine (desktop) and the laptop can also print to this machine. I deleted the printers from the laptop, set the printer sharing off on the Vista machine, reshared the printers and I still receive the error message. File sharing across all three machines is working fine.
    Solved!

Hi, is your network type set to public in Network and Sharing Center?  Also make sure that File and Printer Sharing, Public Folder Sharing and Network Discovery are enabled.
    My Cisco Network Magic Configuration:
Router: D-Link WBR-2310 A1 FW:1.04, connected to Comcast High Speed Internet
Desktop, iMac: NM is on the Windows Partition, using Boot camp to access Windows, Windows 7 Pro 32-bit RTM, Broadcom Wireless N Card, McAfee Personal Firewall 2009,
Mac Partition of the iMac is using Mac OS X 10.6.1 Snow Leopard
Laptop: Windows XP Pro SP3, Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG, McAfee Personal Firewall 2008
Please note that though I am a beta tester for Network Magic, I am not a employee of Linksys/Cisco and am volunteering my time here to help other NM users.
