Cannot contact server

I am using ADobe Export, have never had a problem with it before but today I have just opened a document and tried to convert it to a word document but I am getting an error message saying that the 'reader cannot contact the server'  i have tried logging out and logging back in again, i have restarted my computer, but still not able to do anything
I havent had any issues like this before.  I can sign in using Windows Explorer and using Adobe that way but using the reader is a lot easier and convenient
Any suggestions on what could be the issue?

Hi
There was an outage yesterday during same time, can you try again today?
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Thanks

  • Unable to connect to Internet via Airport Express - 'cannot contact server'

I'm unable to connect to the internet via my Airport Express. I'm using OS 10.3.9, and had the same setup with no problems at a previous address, but with a different modem from the same ISP.
My AE is connected - the light is green - and my mac is connected to the network in Internet Connect. But when I open Safari I get an 'unable to contact server' message.
I've tried rebooting everything (modem, AE, Mac), and leaving modem/AE off for several minutes. Also reset the AE, but to no avail.
The connection works fine via Ethernet cable.
    Any ideas?

Thanks, I checked out that advice doc (106798), but could not connect to the address (http://17.149.160.49) which is given to test if it's a DNS issue. My ISP says I shouldn't need DNS settings.
The service is PPPoE, and I went into Airport Admin Utility to check if the Airport was configured for this. Under Configure/Internet, I found it was set to 'Ethernet', so changed it to PPPoE. Then when I restarted I got connection status in the bar (and good Airport signal), but status flipped between 'looking for PPPoE host' and 'negotiating PPPoE host', sometimes sticking on one or the other each time I tried rebooting all gear.
    Any other ideas?

  • C5-03 mail setup cannot contact server

    Hi all,
i'm trying to setup my gmail using the nokia mailing program.  But after entering my settings the phone just hangs on 'contacting email server' . (the longest I have waited is 15 minutes) Sometimes when I press cancel, the message 'unable to connect to server' appears, but not every time.
So basically the steps I'm following are:
    messaging
    options -settings-email
    mailboxes - define new mailbox
    start
select connection:  i choose my working WiFi
I allow the application to use network
    testing network connection seems fine
    start
    I choose 'gmail'
    I enter my gmail address
    I enter my password
then the never dissapearing 'contacting email server; comes up
Can anyone help me because using email is one of the main reasons i bought this phone.

Same problem. And have you tried the FAQ section and used the troubleshooter. Must be the most useless FAQ I have ever seen.

  • I have a mac book pro with snow leppard, I tried to get update to flip4mac but I get a message saying unable to contact server ? is this happening to any one else

I have a mac book pro with snow leopard, I tried to check for updates on flip4mac but got message saying cannot contact server try again latter. This is the second day in arrow with this response. I got a I Tunes update yesterday and my flash player is up to date. is this happening to anyone else ?

I am recieving this error as well.
Yes, going to the website is an option for updating, but the Flip4Mac System Preference panel affords a method to check for updates without going this route.  It may be either a problem with Telestream's software, or perhaps it's a probelm with system configuration (corrupt prefs, outdated URL, etc.)  Telestream is aware of the issue, but has not as yet found the problem / solution.

  • Cannot contact user after a name change

One of our users got married and changed her last name.  My colleagues changed her name and alias in AD and in Exchange, and they changed her email address, keeping the old address as a secondary SMTP address in Exchange.  I ran the following command
    on the Lync server:
    Set-CsUser -Identity "CN=JNewname,OU=HQ,DC=Corp,DC=Com" -SipAddress sip:[email protected]
After the user logged off the Domain and then logged back on, she could log in to Lync and could initiate an IM conversation with me.  However, I still cannot contact her.  She was never in my favorites list, and when I start typing her new alias,
she shows up in my Lync client with her new name and then "Presence unknown".  When I try to initiate an IM conversation with her, my Lync client says "We couldn't send this message because we couldn't find Newname, Jane".
I have tried deleting the Lync local cache from my client machine and still have the same errors.  What am I missing with this name change?
Thank you very much for your help.

Thank you!  That must have been what I should have done after I changed the sip address.  As it turns out, the contact had started working sometime before you posted this.  Does this update process take place automatically over time and the
Update-CsAddressBook command would have forced the update immediately?  I had changed the sip address about 2 hours before I posted this question.
Thanks so much for your help.  I will incorporate this into a memo I am writing for making a name change.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • PXE Boot Stuck Contacting Server

OSD using PXE has been working for weeks. Suddenly today it stopped. The client receives the initial response from DHCP and then gets stuck on Pending Request, looking for policy, contacting server. The SMSPXE.log looks normal until the client is stuck contacting
the server. Then "Looking for bootImage PO1xxxxx" just repeats over and over. Here's what I've checked.
Deploy this boot image from the PXE-enabled distribution point is checked.
Boot image (x64) and x(86) are both updated and distributed to the DPs.
Use Boot image (x64) is checked in the Task Sequence.
Task sequence is deployed to both Unknown Computers and Deploy collection.
Deployment settings make available to media and PXE.
Switch the task sequence to x86 boot image.
I have not tried to disable and re-enable PXE on the distribution point or remove WDS yet. Any suggestions from someone that's resolved the issue?

The distmgr.log file looks great. But, the SMSPXE.log file might show the root cause. There's an entry now that says BootImage P0100097 needs to be updated (new packageID=P0100097) VersionUpdate=true. Then there are messages about boot.bcd being deleted.
But the Looking for bootImage P0100097 keeps getting logged.

  • I restore and upgrade my Second Hand iPhone 4s and unfortunately the Find My iphone is ON. Is there a way to Activate it since I cannot contact the previous owner?

I bought an Ipad 4 for my wife and iPad Air 2 for my daughter and I have just bought a Macbook Pro with retina display for me. The whole family is an Apple products fan due to its reliability and security. Never know that it could be a disadvantage also. I bought a second hand iPhone 4s from a friend as he is short in caash, and I've been using it for awhile. I "restore and upgrade it" without thinking or checking the Find my iPhone settings, unfortuately it is turned ON. Although the previous owner removed the phone lock, I never asked for his icloud account as I intend to use the phone only for calling. I cannot contact him as his contacts and email address were erased when I restore the iPhone.
I have learned a hard lesson since Apple security is impregnable, my iPhone 4S will just be an expensive paper weight.

    no.
without the previous owners credentials the phone is useless to you.

  • Open directory server crashing every 30 days / clients unable to connect to calendar, contacts server

    Hello everyone,
I am running an up to date Mavericks Server which serves exclusively as a calendar and contacts server for about two dozens devices. The server is reachable via DynDNS, however, the public IP hardly ever changes (only once or twice a year maybe). Tried setting the OS X DNS Server to serve "all clients" and "some clients".
For about 6 months (i.e. also under Mountain Lion), I am having a very strange problem. Roughly every 20-30 days, clients will not be able to connect to the server, instead getting a "wrong password" dialog. Restarting the open directory server will help for the next 30 days.
I have tried repairing the database as detailed here, however, the issue persists.
Any help would be highly appreciated!
I would have tried setting up a clean server installation, migrating calendars/contacts manually and re-adding all users by hand, however, I am not aware of an easy way to do so. The terminal command for calendar backup is broken under mavericks (might work with this workaround) and re-adding users manually would apparently involve correcting user UUIDs afterwards in order to match the migrated calendar data. Do you know of a better approach?
    Thanks a lot!

  • Weblogic 10.3.0.0 installer - Failed to contact Server

When clicking 'Next' on the 'Specify Download Options' portion of the wizard I get an error message "Failed to contact Server"
Anyone know why I recieved this message or how I can get around it?

OK , I have checked the log files for the server - it says it is using NON-BLOCKING source file:/dev/urandom
Looks like this must have been sorted out in 10.3.5 as it recognizes the Linux System.
I have the same issue on all 6 of the servers I have installed - so this may be a different issue.
These are BL460c g6 HP blades in a c7000 chassis.
So now I am at a dead end.
The initial wait is still considerable, but we may have to live with this (Ubuntu Server 11.04 is still new and probably not supported well at this time)
The admin console works fine once it initially opens and is fast.
I tried the java command as well and got an error finding the main class in weblogic.wlst, (not the end of the world).
all in all though it looks impressive right now, aside from the minor admin stuff, my application runs fine (which is what counts in the end).
I will leave this open so that anyone else can view it and make suggestions.
