Cannot copy addresses to new list since 31.5 update

Question

I am trying to set up a new list successfully) and fill it with addresses by copying and dragging addresses from my personal address book. I've done this dozens of time in the past. Now, since 31.5, it appears that the addresses have been copied but when I open the new list, it is empty. I haven't set up a new list for the past few months so am not sure when this happened. Have gone through all settings but can find none that would control this.

You could try a clean install of Tbird. But first make a safety-copy of your profile.
From Common responses:
Certain Thunderbird problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Thunderbird's program files and then reinstall Thunderbird. Please follow these steps:
