Cannot copy and paste to third party word processor.

Greetings to all, I have Windows 7 Professional 64 bit with latest updates on a W520.This is my personal computer with no network. I can not copy and paste, to third party word processor. I was trying to copy and paste to an external hard drive. The computer knows the drive is there. When I do the response is that I have to contact the administrator. Thank you.

Is your W520 managed by company (Domain) or personal?
When the response is contact the administrator, does it prompt you for password or other credentials?

There are a range of different kinds of forms. For example, this site uses very simple controls that don't automatically convert Word's formatting to an online format. The site where you are trying to paste your resume probably works differently.
What methods have you tried using to paste? Typically one of these will work:
* Ctrl+v
* right-click > Paste
* Edit > Paste (from the menu)
Some sites offer their own buttons to paste, but for security/privacy reasons, Firefox usually disables those.

Cannot copy and paste from Word into Mail

I cannot copy and paste from Word into Mail. Neither from using the keyboard shortcuts, or using the Menu function. I can copy and paste from other applications into Mail- but for some reason, text copied from a Word document (both in .txt and .doc formats) will not paste into an open email. Anyone else have this issue? It's a new issue. I used to be able to do this easily.

I had similar issues starting about the same time or within the past week. However, I can copy and paste, it just takes considerably longer than it used to before. Copying something from a web page into Word could take up to 30 seconds now on my computer but it shows a busy mouse pointer while it is loading, then clicks/pops when it loads into the Word document, but then actually takes about another 5 to 10 seconds to appear in the Word document. I have no idea why it is delaying now when it did not do it before, but since it is still going into the document I am living with it for now. Are you waiting long enough to see if it appears?

Do you have the same problem with IE or Safari? Please try using a different browser to see if you can copy and paste your content. The current version of Firefox is 3.6. Do you have the same problem if you update Firefox?

Are those toolbar buttons grayed?
Do the entries in the Edit menu look enabled if there is text selected or text on the clipboard?
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Mountain Lion - cannot copy and paste in finder

     I've only just noticed this today and I've done a search but can't find anything so far to help me. I upgraded from lion to mountain lion the day after it was released, not fresh install, upgrade. Basically... I cannot copy files using either cmd+c / cmd+v or using the finder edit->copy / edit-> paste menu. They aren't greyed out. Everytime I try I get the error "The operation can't be completed because you don't have permission to access some of the items.".
This will happen even with a newly created folder. I can delete files. I can create files. I can drag files in finder without issue but I cannot copy and paste. I'm guessing there are permission issues going on but I don't know where to start.
Repairing permissions didn't help (I kinda didn't think it would given it only works on system files but thought it worth a go).
This is an example of the file permissions assigned to a screen grab on my desktop:

Hey, I was really loathed to try reinstalling the OS and something told me that I'd I can drag and drop but not copy and paste there had to be something interfering with the clipboard.
I disabled Alfred and its clipboard history feature (http://www.alfredapp.com/) and rebooted. Amazingly this fixed my issue. I'm going to email the author in the morning to give them a heads up about this.

Cannot copy and paste a slideshow- and what is an Album?

I have created a slideshow in a folder called MISC. I think it is a "slideshow" because the icon looks like a 35mm slide.
I want to copy this slide show and move it to a folder called 2007.
No matter what I do, I cannot copy and paste it. Once a slide show is created in a folder, are you now longer able to move it?

Is this in the iPhoto Window? Drag and drop.
An album is an collection of photos. You might gather them together because you want to have all your photos of your dog in one place, quite independent of when they were taken. OF you can make a Smart Album based on any of the criteria you can discover by using the File -> New Smart Album command.
The core difference between an album and an Event is that a photo can be in 100 albums and not take up any extra disk space whereas it cannot be in more than one Event without duplicating files.

The user has modify rights, and on other files it works fine. She can save and do everything with the file except copy and then past to another tab in the same file or a new one. Or anywhere.
We tried the file with a different user from the same department and there it does work.
I tried to disable the X-com plugins and disable OVF for performance also. Nothing works...anybody knows maybe what the issue might be ?
The file is on a network drive on a domain and does work on another user to copy and paste. I have not let her log in with the same user account n test it on a different system so I asked and will get a update soon. There are no error messages the
paste option is greyed out.

This issue might be caused by her user profile. What the result would be if using another user account to log on her computer to test this issue.
Also do you have the same problem when you open excel in Safe Mode?
Try opening Excel without any Add-ins or hidden workbooks:
Press and hold the CTRL key, and then click the excel program.

I have a Adobe Captivate 6 project, and I cannot copy and paste text captions, buttons, smart shapes, etc. Do any of the experts out there have any advice? Solution : I created a new project and copied and pasted the slides from the old project to the new project. Copy and paste works as it should in the new project.

First you need to open song info copy from or paste to the artwork box. It won't work with right click, you need to use the short cuts "cmd C" for copy and "cmd V' for paste.

The Thunderbird text editor does not consistently allow copying and paste a table from Word. More generally, its text editor is full of bugs and anomalies, such as arbitrarily setting text to a different font.

As recently as December 30, 2013, I was able to copy LibreOffice calc data and paste it w/o problems into Tbird messages. Formatting, merged cells, all came across perfectly. I've been doing this for a long time (over a year at the least) without problems.
Now when I copy and try pasting nothing at all happens ... as in literally nothing changes in the email.
It's really frustrating when something this basic gets broken. If you know what version I'd have to revert to until it's fixed (and where to get the download), that would be great.
Don't know if it helps having the following, but just in case:
