Hi Pat..When I tried to run Fix It the computer pops up a screen that says this trouble shooter does not apply to this computer .The article refers to Internet Explorer 10 and Im running Internet Explorer 11. I did try to see it it would fix my problem but the registry entry does not exist on my computer (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\TabProcGrowth) I can get as far as HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer but I dont have the option to choose Main. I only have the option to choose New Window which does not open up when clicked. Internet Explorer also has no value. Is there anything else I should try?

Have uninstalled then re-installed iTunes and it sees my iPhone but doesn't show the battery state.
I have rebooted my laptop and, guess what, iPhone is now NOTseen! Who designed this software, an idiot? Oh, I forgot Apple programmers don't know anything about Windows especially Windows 7. I still think this has to do with the differing formats as if there are pictures on the iPhone, Windows sees it as a camera and it is possible to see the pictures in Explorer, so these must be stored in FAT format. Maybe someone needs to design the phone to tell Windows that it's a phone and tells Windows to load the correct drivers. Maybe that's too difficult!

I cannot paste a copied image into the body of an email

I can attach images to an email but I cannot copy and paste them into the email itself. I have been trying to find an Insert button but have been unable to do so. My setting is html, not plain text.

Holding the shift key while clicking the Write button toggles to the opposite of what your account settings are. So if your account settings are for HTML, holding the shift while opening a Write window will switch to Plain Text or vise versa.
I am not sure what your issue with making this work is.
Check your account settings and see what your default is set to.

Is the option to compose in HTML checked?
Are you using an encryption add on of some kind? They force the composition to plain text.

Can't put image into the body of Yahoo Email.

Although easily done using I.E or Outlook, any attempt to paste an image into the body of a Yahoo Mail results in nothing happening when using Firefox. I do NOT want to use I.E.
This is a major problem. Attachments are no solution. In many industries, including mine, we like to send flyers as images or IN-LINE documents via email.
Will Firefox / Mozilla address this issue?

I have 2 FF windows open. One to view my picture and one with Yahoo mail. If I click and drag the picture into my Yahoo mail body, it works. Can't do copy/paste like in IE.

How do I copy image from web and paste into Open Office Document

Whenever I choose Copy Image from Safari and then paste into open office, I only get the image url and not the image. I am sure that I am not selecting Copy Image Address.
When I copy images from my iTunes album artwork and paste into open office it works fine.

I have done the same thing using Firefox and it works just fine. It seems to be an issue with Safari.

Since installing Firefox 3.6.9, can't insert images into my email.

Last Thursday, Firefox updated my system to 3.6.9. My email goes through Network Solutions. Now I cannot insert an image into the body of my email. I can still attach an image file to the email, but not make it show up in the body of the text.

Try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.
If it fails regardless, you can try changing the user agent like this:
#In the location bar at the top, type: '''about:config''' and hit Enter.
#In the filter at the top, copy/paste the following: '''general.useragent.override'''. This will display a blank page.

Can't Copy Image Into Textedit

This might be a coincidence but then maybe not... ever since I've installed MacOSX 8, I can no longer drag images or copy/paste images into TextEdit docs.
Is there a TextEdit section here?

Logging in as a different user does not help.
Trashing the TextEdit plist does not solve the problem...
Any ides on what could be preventing this? Thanks!

And 'deny network-outbound' messages. Sometimes I was dragging an image off a web page into a textedit to troubleshoot and sometimes from an image all ready on my computer.

Adobe Reader 9 Mac - cannot copy images

I upgraded to Reader 9, and another person in our office is using 8 with the same problem. We can no longer copy images out of a PDF - when we try to paste an image that appeared to be copied we only get a gray box. We've tried many ways including pasting directly into Word or Excel, choosing 'New from Clipboard' in Photoshop Elements, creating a blank Photoshop file and pasting, etc. This has works perfectly in Acrobat 5.0 and in Reader 7.0.5 (which I have gone back to using - I'm sure glad I waited before removing it from my system!).
Any thoughts?

I then moved the /Users/*myaccount*/Library/Application Support/Adobe folder to my desktop. I was then able to start "Adobe Reader 9" successfully.
I was having the "Internal Error" message on all my repeated installs of Reader in Mac OS 10.6 ("Snow Leopard") and this fixed it for me. The only thing I did different, was after the app finally launched without an error, I dragged all the non-Acrobat Reader folders inside of /Users/*myaccount*/Library/Application Support/Adobe back to the folder. I then re-launched Reader just to check and all was fine.

Cannot Paste Image into Photoshop CS4

I've lost the consistent ability to paste images from otehr applications (e.g. screen captures or web browsers) into Photoshop.It doesn't seem to matter what the source application is (so a screen-cap utility versus alt+prtScrn makes no difference).
This is issue is plaguing the majority of artists in our game studio.
It's even happening on new, clean installations. It happens under both XP and Win7.
The problem is progressive -- it starts mildly, and gets worse over days and weeks (not just during a single session).
When Photoshop starts, you can always paste at least one external clipboard image into it. After some number of external pastes, however, PS will simply stop importing the contents of the external clipboard, and will just keep pasting its own internal clipboard over and over. The # of pastes keeps getting shorter and shorter as the problem progresses -- for myself and our art director, we can usually only paste ONCE and then have to restart Photoshop. Twenty times a day.
The "Edit->Purge" menu options are often greyed-out, so that's not an option for fixing.

There is a registry tweak that affects Photoshop's clipboard importation process.

Can't enter the @ Symbol into web email fields in Safari

I was trying to create a new acount on AT&T Wireless and it wouldn't let me enter the @ into the email fields on the signup form. I reported it to AT&T support, but afterwards I realized that was dumb. It is more likely a bug with Safari. So thought I'd post the bug here.

I seemed to have at least solved my issue with not being able to type into text fields - though it did seem to be kind of a drastic thing to do.
I have Safari 5.1.2. Your mileage may vary.
I clicked on the top of the screen 'Safari' menu, then selected 'Reset Safari'.
It closes all of your browser windows and clears out all of your Safari saved site passwords and cached field entries. I don't really care about Safari saving my passwords as I use 1Password to remember all of my passwords with. Though there may be a stray one or two of them that I haven't found out about yet. Oh well!
When I did that, it closed out all of my Safari windows & tabs. I then restarted Safari and now everything seems to be working again!
There may be some options that you can choose when using 'Reset Safari' that will keep your saved passwords if that is important to you. I just left everything checked (Default).

Thanks. But that didn't help. I had up-to-date flash already. And while I can't paste image in Firefox, I can in Chrome (with the same version of flash.)

Cannot paste images into Safari when composing emails

For some reason, when I compose an email, either using gmail or yahoo mail, it will not let me paste an image from the clipboard into the body of the email. However, if I use Chrome as a browser instead then it works perfectly fine.
I've looked through the settings, but cannot find anything obvious that would help.
I'm using Safari 8 on Yosemite.
Any ideas anyone? thanks!

This seems to be an issue when using Office 2013 on a Windows 7 machine.
After upgrading to Windows 8 the issue went away.

When I paste a URL into an email body (Yahoo mail), just the text is pasted rather that the live web link I want represented. How can I change this so a pasted URL is shown as a live link in the email body?

Just above the textarea that you use to enter the message text on the "Compose New Mail page" there is usually a button bar with buttons to add text formatting like Bold and Italic.<br />
That toolbar may also have a button to turn a text link into a clickable hyperlink (look for a chain like button).<br />
You can select the text and click that button to turn the link into a clickable hyperlink.<br />
If you can't find the button then hover them all to check the tooltip of each (e.g. Insert hyperlink).

why can I not copy and paste from Yahoo email into Microsoft 7 word processor. I don't have Office. I used to do this all the time using Control C to copy and Control V to paste but recently AT&T installed Firefox and I think that's when the trouble started

There are a range of different kinds of forms. For example, this site uses very simple controls that don't automatically convert Word's formatting to an online format. The site where you are trying to paste your resume probably works differently.
What methods have you tried using to paste? Typically one of these will work:
* Ctrl+v
* right-click > Paste
* Edit > Paste (from the menu)
Some sites offer their own buttons to paste, but for security/privacy reasons, Firefox usually disables those.
