Cannot copy videos (mp4) on ipad

I have several videos (mp4) on itunes that I cannot copy onto my Ipad. when copying them directly from explorer, they show in itunes, but not on the ipad. I also cannot delete them anymore.
It worked well before I synced to the latest version.
Thanks for your help.

Have you imported them into iTunes? First you have to import them in, then iTunes will convert them if necessary. Then  you can connect the iPad, open the movies tab and if you can see them, select them to sync.

  • Cannot copy video from iPhone 4S to iPad

    Hi,
Here are the steps I take
I have an iPhone 4S on which I have taken some videos.
I sync my iPhone with iPhoto on my Mac and import the videos (which play fine on here)
I import the videos into iTunes and tick them to import them into my iPad (version 1)
When I sync I get an error which says"movie1" was not copied to the iPad "Mark's iPad" because it cannot be played on this iPad.
Has anyone got any idea why this is the case as my prevoius iPhone 4 had no such problems.
    Thanks for any help

Turn on iCloud sharing of Contacts in Settings > iCloud.

  • I cannot copy video from iphone camera to my pc its of around 50 minutes

i am using iphone 4 and have recorded a video of around 50 minutes, i cannot copy it now to my pc, i am using windows xp. please guide me with this thing, its really annoying ,i am trying it since whole day now.

not that easy - but I did it! You need Adobe Photo Shop or as they say Adobe Photo Elements. Get started Adobe Photo Shop and klick on the Menu "File" / Import / via iPhone....
.... and it works. You can import all photos to Photo Shop and save them as you want.

  • I cannot view videos on my ipad

I have some videos (movies and other videos) on my ipad. I was able to view them but now for some reason I cannot. When I plug my ipad into my desktop, it shows that these videos are there but when I tap on the "videos" button on the ipad nothing shows up but the sentence: "you can download videos from itunes". How do I again watch the ones that are already on my ipad that I was able to watch before?

Try this and see if it makes a difference. Close all apps in the recents tray and reboot your iPad.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app icons. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • HT2729 I cannot watch videos on my iPad, is this because I don't have a mac pc?

I sometimes get emails which include some video but cannot view them because I don't have flash player but when I try to download flash player Imget a message saying that it is not supported by iPad??

Flash is not supported on the iPad - and as Adobe have announced that they are stopping development on all mobile versions of it, it probably never will be.
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter, Puffin and Photon 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store.

    2. Swipe the app's preview up to close it.
    3. Preview will fly off the screen.

  • TS3991 'Notes' on iPhone stored in ICloud ok.Cannot copy 'notes'on to ipad can you help.

'notes ' stored on iPhone stored in iCloud ok but not copied on to ipad? Can you help.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
First check that all your settings are correct, that notes syncing (mail and notes on a computer) is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the notes you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone'  or other non iCloud account (you can do this by checking in accounts on an iOS device, or the left side panel in mail on a computer), non iCloud notes will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your notes are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking notes syncing (mail and notes on a computer) in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling notes syncing.

  • Cannot import videos mp4/m4v in iTunes for Windows 7.

I've been trying for days to import a few mp4 and m4v videos to my iTunes on a pc running Windows 7.
I have the latest iTunes and the latest Quicktime installed. When I try to import theses videos, I get nothing and they do not appear in my library.
I tried uninstalling iTunes and Quicktime and reinstalling them. I've searched the forums, and couldn't find anything similar to this.
I played the same videos on 2 other computers  (On my MB Pro running OSX Lion and on a friends computer running Windows Vista) both running the latest iTunes and Quicktime and all the videos imported and played flawlessly.
I'm out of ideas here...Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Also, when I try to play theses videos through Quicktime, I get an error -50 (Unknown error). But not on the other machines.

The first thing I would try is Missing Artist or Album not with others by same artist. I've also seen reports of people compaining that the Music section of iTunes doesn't list all their content. For some reason adding a new track such as the current iTunes Single of the Week is proposed, and even confirmed, as a solution, though to be honest I can't see why it would make any difference.
If you make a smart playlist that should match your recent addition does it show up in that?

  • I cannot play videos from my iPad through Apple TV, but there is audio?

My ATV will not play videos over airplay, but will play audio. It never used to be like this until recent upgrades.
What do I need to do to get it working again?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
What exactly are you playing, some providers block AirPlay using their content.

  • "I cannot add video to itunes and my iphone i see this warning "Example' was not copied to the iPhone because it cannot be played on this iPhone."

I'm having this same problem, except the option to "create iphone/ipod version" is greyed out and I can't select it. I tried to sync it after I noted that, but the same "cannot copy video" message came up.

    Hi akbar.joya,
If you are having issues transfering video to your iPhone, you may find the following article helpful:

  • Can't find any discussions on this.  Suddenly cannot stream video in Safari or Chrome on my iPad 2.  The error is "The operation could not be completed."  Rebooted cable modem and router, no luck.  No problem with my PC.  Help!

Suddenly I cannot stream video on my iPad 2.  I get the error, "The operation cannot be completed."  The browser (Safari or Chrome) continues to try to load the video with no result.  I have no problem streaming on my WIndows PC (laptop) using the same WiFi router (Netgear dual band) connected to my Comcast/Xfinity cable modem.  I have tried renewing my lease, clearing apps out of memory and rebootng the iPad, still no luck.  (How do you do a "hard reset", I forgot?)  Frustrating since I don't own a TV and am an Al Jazeera addict!  Help!

I cannot sync HD films purchased on iTunes (on my PC) to my iPad even though it is a shared account. No problem syncing to iPod Classic from PC.
Also there is no 'Film/Video' tag on the drop down menu on the iPad only Music and TV Programs.
Also can't view 'purchased films' on iTunes via iPad.
All Phtos,Music and Video etc is 'Manualy Sync' selected.
Is this all related, please help?

Most of my library consists of h.264 videos wrapped in the m4v format, which my converters (Handbrake & mkvtools) says is the Apple TV format.  Today I tried coverting a few to mp4 (for iPad) instead, so that I can watch them on multiple devices, but I'm running into the same problem with those that you are.
I tried resetting my ATV as the other responder suggested, but that hasn't helped.  I'm still unable to watch h.264 mp4 files, while h.264 m4v's are fine.

  • Copying videos from iPad

I have a couple of videos on my iPad that were copied there from a digital camera using a camera connection kit. I can see & play them on the iPad. I want to copy them from the iPad to my desktop computer. But when I hook up the iPad I can't see them anywhere either in iTunes or when I browse the iPad. Only my photos show up. How can I get videos from the iPad?! Cheers.

    Thanks for the reply. I see my problem now (from the page you linked to);

  • Cannot transfer videos taken from my Canon camera(MOV files) to the iPad 4. They have previous with no problems at all. Is this an update issue?

Cannot transfer videos taken from my Canon camera(MOV files) to the iPad 4. They have previous with no problems at all. Is this an update issue? I tried to sync them over using iTunes last night but it says that they cannot be played on the device. But they have previously

1, you can't at the moment, though with iOS 5 in the Autumn, from http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#photos :
Even organize your photos in albums — right on your device
2, by removing it from you synced from and re-syncing. Only photos taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad (either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view)
3, the location of the photos that you synced to the iPad should be listed on the iPad's Photos tab when connected to your computer's iTunes.
4, you can copy the photos from your iPad to your computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 . You should also be able to delete them from the iPad as part of the transfer process to your computer, and it's then your choice whether to add them to your sync photo list so as to copy them back to the iPad. Copying them to your computer would allow you to organise them into folders and therefore be able to sync them back into separate albums.
5, I don't use Dropbox either. There are some third-party browser apps in the iTunes App Store that allow you to download pages so that you can view them when offline e.g. Atomic Web (the whole page is saved within Atomic Web, it doesn't place a photo into the Photos app)
6, deleting content should help. If you remove an app from your iPad then you also remove the content that it's got on the iPad - so if you then decide to reinstall it back onto the iPad then you will need to manually add back any content that you want in it. None of the Apple built-in apps (including Photos) can be removed from the iPad

  • I cannot open a video in my ipad with extnsion .wlmp. Any suggestions?

I cannot open a video in my ipad with extnsion .wlmp. Any suggestions?

Just as we know Windows Live Movie Maker .wlmp file is not a valid video file but a movie project file from which a video file can be generated in Windows Live Movie Maker and this .wlmp project files cannot be opened and played by any media players like VLC, QuickTime, iTunes, iPod, iPad, iPhone or uploaded to YouTube, Facebook for sharing, let alone to play WLMP on Mac.
Though we can reopen this WLMP files in Windows Live Movie Maker on a Windows PC and then save and export the .wlmp project files to WMV video format, we are still unable to play the exported WMV on Mac. For WMV is also not compatible with Mac devices. (Exception: Windows Live Movie Maker 2012 can export WLMP to MP4, in this case, we can played the exported WLMP MP4 files on Mac)
In order to play .wlmp files on Mac QuickTime, iTunes, iPad, iPod, or edit WLMP files in iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express, we have no other choices but to convert WLMP to MP4, MOV, or MP3.
The following will describe a step by step guide on how to convert WLMP to MP4, MP3 or MOV at How to Convert WLMP to MP4 to Play WLMP files on Mac, iMovie, iTunes?
