Cannot create even 1 vault
I am a new user to Aperture, I am using . I like the program and have about 1000 photos, so I figured it would be prudent to actually back them up, finally. I purchased an external hard drive specifically for this purpose. I attached it and chose Add vault, and named a vault. But every time I clicked the update vault button, the dialog window popped up and immediately disappeared. Finally, the computer spoke to me and said, do you want to update vaults, even though there was no window. I tried hitting enter, return, and nothing happened, evidently because there is no default selection. So I tried to quite aperture, and could not, so I force quit, then removed the empty vault form the external hard drive, and tried to d it all over again, But then when I started aperture, it would start and freeze, forcing more force quits. So I disconnected the hard drive, and was able to now add a (new) vault, but am in the same situation, where when I choose "update vault" a window snaps open and disappears. Finally after frustratingly clicking the update button over and over again, the window stayed open, and I was able to select it, and I have a progress bar saying I am updating my vault. As this happens, i am not able to click the show vault pane in the vault part of the inspector, or for that matter do anything else in the foreground while the vault updates in the background.
Can anyone tell me what the heck is going on here? This can't be normal behavior.

Good idea on submitting the feedback. I can see how it's not in the manual, as this is more of a general practice Mac OS X issue.
You'll notice when formatting as HFS+ over FAT32 that you'll probably end up gaining 40% more usable space on the drive. The cluster size on a 1 TB FAT32 drive must be on the order of 64-128 KB; meaning that's the smallest chunk it can allocate. If you have a file that's 4 KB on disk, it'll actually take up 128 KB, lol. Windows XP actually prohibits you from formatting any drive as FAT32 that is over 32 GB as it's such a bad file system for large volumes.
Best practice is to always format any external drive you use, whether it be on a Mac or Windows file system, with the recommended native file system.

Cannot create vault on FireWire drive
I have a FireWire drive with two partitions. One partition is a mirror running under SoftRAID. The other is an ordinary Mac partition. Aperture will not create a vault on the Mac partition, generating an error message saying that Aperture cannot create a vault on a networked drive. It says that it will only work on local drives or those connected by FireWire or USB. But this drive is connected by FireWire. Is this some sort of strange incompatibility with drives partitioned by SoftRAID?
I have two valuts, both are on external FireWire drives (as is my library). Neither of these is attached to any kind of RAID array. My guess is that SoftRAID is causing your problem.
Have you tried "unRAIDing" the drive to see if it will create then? or attaching a different disk and trying that? -
I have LR 4 and now I cannot open the software because I get this warning: "light room cannot start because it cannot create files in the temp file location. C:\windows\temp\". I think I need to have LR open in a different place but I have no idea how to do that. Any help is most appreciated.

Thank you for your prompt reply. Unfortunately I am not that tech oriented and
cannot easily find that folder. I did notice when I was booting up the LR software
that I could accept the site where LR usually is set up or choose a place. I am
thinking that the standard location for LR software is corrupted and that if I
chose a different place it would work. I say this because whether I use my
original disc or download from adobe I get the same warning. I have 100GB of
memory on the hard drive and I have cleaned the computer with Mcaffee and free
software. What should I do next? I can't use this software and I doubt LR 5
would open up with my current problem.

Cannot create vault; crashes Aperture
Hello,
I have Aperture 2 (latest update) and Snow Leopard (also latest update). I have a library stored on an external hard drive connected by USB. I can open Aperture and work in it just fine (although I do get the annoying serial number issues that are problems for other folks). I would like to create a vault on a second external hard drive that is connected to my AEBS, but when I select Add Vault nothing happens. If I click the arrow button to expand the Vault section of the screen on the bottom left, Aperture crashes - the toolbar buttons disappear, it stops responding except for the menus.
I know that a common issue is that the external drive on which I want to create a vault is not formatted for Macs, but I do not know how to check if the drive is formatted correctly. I use it for my Time Machine backups so I always assumed it was formatted correctly but I'm not sure.
I'm at somewhat of a loss. Any ideas on troubleshooting tips?I'm not sure that this will work. It might, but frankly I wouldn't back up to a vault over wireless (and over a file sharing protocol like AFP).
Time Machine works with this because it uses disk images (specifically Sparse Bundles), which deal with the issues of the file sharing protocol. Aperture will not do this with its Vault, so it could be perilous at best. I would recommend you just plug the USB drive into Aperture, update the vault, and then store the drive away at a safe location. Make a reminder to update the vault on a weekly basis or whenever it makes sense. -
Cannot create Vault on external QNAP NAS
I just purchased a QNAP NAS and am attempting to create a Vault on it but all I get is the spinning wheel of death. Is there an easy way to solve this issue? And how can I move the Aperture photos off of my computer and onto the Vault?
guess best bet is to have Aperture Vault on something like a Time Capsule, connected via Firewire
For what its worth I have my vaults on a HD connected to an Airport Extreme connected both with ethernet and wirelessly (my iMac goes over the ethernet the MB goes wirelessly. Never had any problems with either.
The only drawback is that the first vault created on a library on the MB takes a long time to be created but after the vault is created updates go fast enough provided you update regularly enough so that you don't have a huge amount of data to move. -
Cannot create mysites from powershell: Original XSLT List View Web Part not found
I have a bizarre problem in my SharePoint 2013 farm. This does not occur in my test farm, only in the farm we were going to go live with.
I'm on windows Server 2012, SQLServer 2012 SP1, SharePoint 2013 April CU. 1 appserver/centraladmin server, 2 web servers.
When I log into our mysitehost and click newsfeed, it will create a mysite (even though first it displays "we are sorry there was a problem creating your site")
But from powershell, whether I use $UserProfile.CreatePersonalSite() or New-SPSite, I get the following error:
Original XSLT List View Web Part not found

This is a brand new farm, created with the same scripts I created my test farm with, and same version of SharePoint. Only the service accounts are different. (Farm account has admin on the servers right now since I was setting up profile service).
Some other errors from the same correlation ID that look related:
It can't seem to find the listemplate 101
And something looks wrong with the MySiteDocumentLibrary feature
I have tried the following:
1. run psconfig.exe on each server
2. install-spfeature -AllExistingFeatures
3. looped through the directory under Features and for each called Install-SPFeature $dirname -Force
4. uninstalled and reinstalled MySiteDocumentLibrary feature
5. blew away the whole farm (removed all servers from farm, deleted all databases) and recreated it.
6. tried creating the UPA from the CentralAdmin gui.
The only real difference I can think of between the working farm and non working farm is, I installed the working farm using RTM, then as they came out added the March PU and April CU. For this farm I installed RTM and March and April, and then ran my build
farm script.
I am at a loss. What do I need to do, re-install the binaries? That's all I can think of. What I love is that our test / POC system worked fine, and now 2 weeks before go-live I'm seeing errors on the production servers I've never seen before. Using the
same scripts no less.

I've had other problems in this farm: the bug where when you add Administrators to a Search Service via the Manage Service Applications page, it removes the SPSearchDBAdmin role from the search service process account. That one did not happen in the other farm.
At least other people have that one and I could just use the farm admin instead (still troublng of course).Ok,
Here is the problem:
When creating a mysite from powershell or script, apparently you can ONLY do this from a wfe (or a server running Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Web Application in services on server).
You CANNOT create mysites from script on your appserver if it is not also a Web Application Server. I confirmed the same is true in my test farm. I guess I was always running most of these scripts on the webserver.
I searched all over and cannot find this documented anywhere.
Who do I contact to have Microsoft document this?

Is seems to be problem related to maximal filesize handling of GNUtar implemented in CW2000.
The problem is with tar'ing HUM-Reports in /opt/CSCOpx/MDC/tomcat/webapps/upm/reports, and with reaching
tarfile-size of 2,9GByte error is thrown.

These files to be tarred aren't there directly after backup stops with error.
It seems that some process stores data about reports in that file and when trying to
pack these reports via tar they are delete by any cleanup method.
Does this help.

Solution Manager EWA - cannot create session in satellite system
"Hi,
I want to configure EWA self service using Solman 4.0. I succesfully did the following :
a. Maintained SMSY and create the required trusted RFC connections from SM to satellite system. All connection and authorization passed in SM59. I used SAP_ALL/SDCCN_ALL role and assigned objects S_RFC*.
b. Assigned the system to a logical system.
c. Created the a new solution and activate "Solutions Monitoring > Earlywatch Alert"
d. Activated and maintained required RFC in SDCCN in satallite system.
My problem is that the create EWA alert request (Red Flag with a specific session number ) coulnd be pass to the satelitte system even though all the trusted RFC and authorization is set. When i execute the SESSION_REFRESH in the satellite system, the session is not created.
Did I miss out any steps. Can any one share any help ?
FYI, there is no connection to SAPOSS yet, so i did not manage to run RTCCTOOL completed, but i doubt this is required for EWA self service."

Have you tried the following option :
Execute SMSY and from the Server entry Execute the "Read System Data Remote" option in change mode.
Save the data captured and then try using Refresh Session Task from SDCCN of the satellite system. Do select the RFC for Solution Manager while performing this task.

Hi Experts,
I am working on Idoc to File scenario using SAP PI 7.1. In this scenario I am mapping Invoic02 Idoc with Invoice xsd. I am able to test the mapping in ESR with status as success.
In ID Tools --> Test Configuration I used the same payload and tried testing the configuration step by step. while executing I am getting an error at Operation Mapping saying "Runtime exception occurred during application mapping com/sap/xi/tf/_MM_SRM_Hubwoo_Invoice_; com.sap.aii.mappingtool.tf7.IllegalInstanceException: Cannot create target element /Invoice. Valuesmissing in queue context. Target XSD requires a v~"
Even though the mapping is getting executed successfully in ESR, I am not able to fix this issue. Need your inputs in resolving the same.

reason for this issue:
Target field expecting some value from sender field. so in testing your not getting any data from source field for this reason your getting that issue.
Solution:
In mapping use node function:Mapwith deafault between source and taget fileds.
Then activate mapping . now excute the scenario it will properly without that issue.

ACR Raw images wont copy to Jpeg or Tiff; as it fails with "Cannot Create File"

I've been using Photoshop CS6 for several years, never a problem at all. As soon as I bought Creative Cloud, I see many issues that cannot be resolved or are recurring.
Again today as I go to copy files (images) from Adobe Camera Raw, to say a Tiff or a Jpeg, it appears to begin to copy as normal, then suddenly a box appears with all my copying
file name/numbers, and it begins to eliminate one by one "Cannot Create File", failing the entire process to copy. I have never seen this until I began using Creative Cloud about a
month ago.
Can anyone help this Saturday evening as i am trying to complete a large project of images for others who expect them soon.?

Another forum respondent just replied also, and he states as so many others do, that they do not use
the Adobe Camera Raw app formerly with CS6, as they instead use Lightroom, so he apologized that he
was not familiar with ACR but that I might have an old CS6 plug-in running that may not be completely
compatible with the new Creative Cloud. I am not sure if this is the problem.
What I would find as not really likely, is that the Creative Cloud engineers would go through all the trouble
to redesign from the old CS6, then even assist us over the phone to help install it, but in oversight,
leave us without a proper update to properly run Adobe Camera Raw. I also have never really understood the advantage of Lightroom. I'm sure that many must enjoy its efficiency, as I hear wedding photographers like it for huge batch processing of adjusting many images in synchronicity all at once. I would say that I do the same with ACR accessing it through Bridge, and I like ACR's quick and simple access for simple image adjustments and then say a small batch all synchronized, then finally to "Save As" for all selected to a final output as Tiff or Jpeg.
As an astronomer that has just started learning to use Registax for night sky images, we also like the ACR adjustments and then to "Save As" eg. all Jpeg or all Tiff, to then photo-stitch large landscape and night sky panoramas with Microsoft ICE photo-stitching.

Am running a up-to-date x64 Arch with [multilib] enabled; perhaps it's a silly mistake I made somewhere but I'm no dev and so cannot figure out what went wrong in the config.log....please help with your kindness and thanks in advance!

Nope I didn't enable [testing]; I've discovered some packages in [multilib], namely gcc-multilib or something similar(with the -multilib subfix) and some of these packages belong to the group "multilib-devel". Is installing these packages a must for compiling 32-bit packages? -
I have installed Adobe Lightroom CC. In the process of launching, a popup appears, that says: "AN INTERNAL ERROR HAS OCCURRED. Cannot create the required folder: /Users/(my user name)/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Develop Presets." So even though Lightroom CC is installed, it will not launch. What do I need to do to allow it to launch?
The problem was solved today. Here's the full story. I'm a Mac user. At first I installed Lightroom CC on my iMac (desktop). I had this problem so I called Adobe, and was referred to a "special unit" . After about an hour the tech solved it for me ... we did a screen sharing and she took control of my computer for a loooong time. Because of language difficulties, at first I wondered if she knew what she was doing but she eventually solved it. Although she couldn't explain exactly what she was doing, she summarized it by saying "it was a permissions problem." I asked if I would have the same issue later when I installed it on my laptop (Macbook Air). She said probably not.
But I did. The same internal error popup arose on launch and launch did not complete on my laptop. I tried chat but no joy so I eventually called Apple Care. I had noticed that on my laptop (and the iMac for that matter), that there was no Library folder after my user name. The Apple tech explained that the Library folder is actually there but it is hidden because it's very easy for users to do some very nasty things to their computer by going astray while in the Library folder. The folder is actually there, but they hide it. I did remember seeing that the tech helping me with my iMac had typed the work "Library" while she was controlling my computer. Basically she had activated the hidden Library folder so she could open the path that Lightroom was trying to follow to create that "Develop Presets" folder. For some reason, the inability to create that folder in the launch process was preventing launch from being completed. The Apple tech said she didn't actually have to do that and activated the Library folder by use of the Go selection on the menu bar. Anyway, once that complete path was replicated and opened, the next step was to go to the Lightroom Permissions field and add my user name to the user categories already there and enable "read and write" permissions to my user name. Once done, I shut down my laptop, and then rebooted. I launched Lightroom and then boom, voila, heavens to betsy, etc. it launched and suddenly a dismal weekend turned into a great one.
I am not a geek, so I hope this makes some sense. I also hope Lightroom launches again tomorrow and beyond! -

HELP!! I am getting desperate!!!
I am a newbie when it comes to TOMCAT, but i have been using Blazix before.
My current system is using APACHE/TOMCAT on a Solaris machine and I keep hitting the same problem. I have gone through the archives but the only thing it states is to check the directory which i have done.
I keep getting:
Error 500
Internal Error
javax.servlet.ServletException: Cannot create bean of class MyClass
The code used to work on the Blazix server so i am assuming it is something to do with a config parameter somewhere - but i do not know where. I have checked the directory/package structure and they seem to work. It even serves it when they are html pages not jsp, but obviously wont use the bean. :(
I can post code if necessary.

Cannot create DataSource, Exception in Tomcat 4.1
I am running into a major problem with Tomcat4.1 trying to access a Datasource.
I referenced about 7 articles one of which has the subject "Cannot create JDBC driver of class '' for connect URL 'null', cause..."
but he is using Tomcat 5. I even tried to simulate his solution to mine but still no use.
I tried to connect to the database the old fashion way and it worked... I get connected (JDBC connection w/o Datasource).
I changed the XML many times but with no luck. I must be doing something stupid that I can't see.
Any help is greatly appreciated.... I ran out of solutions...

</Server>Thanks in advance for ANY help.I am running into a major problem with Tomcat4.1 trying to access a Datasource.
I referenced about 7 articles one of which has the subject "Cannot create JDBC driver of class '' for connect URL 'null', cause..."
but he is using Tomcat 5. I even tried to simulate his solution to mine but still no use.
I tried to connect to the database the old fashion way and it worked... I get connected (JDBC connection w/o Datasource).
I changed the XML many times but with no luck. I must be doing something stupid that I can't see.
Any help is greatly appreciated.... I ran out of solutions...
I initially loaded my app through Tomcat manager and created the DataSource through Tomcat admin screen.
