Cannot create new triggers in 6i Form Builder

We are trying to move from Forms 5 to 6i. We have successfully installed 6i and have converted our forms.
But when we try to create a new form-level trigger, the window never appears where you can select the appropriate trigger.
Also, if you go into a record group and try to select the record group query text, the edit window never appears.
So, in effect, we can't edit any of these forms if we need to make changes to the triggers or record groups.
Has anyone come across these problems? We are running WinNT 4.0, Forms 6.0.8.13.0, and Oracle 8.1.6.

you better to migrate on that older version forms to later version forms (like:- 5 to 6i/9i or 10g . )

Hi Samer,
So taking the example for the slides, you need first to create a new child under DataModel for the DataSchema. You can name it "Gender".
Click on the Radio Button in the Toolbar and drag "Gender" from the left hand site into the Edit Form.
It should have already a first radio button and in the box on the bottum right you should see the reference in the Schema Reference field (/DataShema/DataModel/Gender).
You can now drag a second button from the toolbar and place it behind the first one. Make sure you add the same value in the Schema Reference field.
On the Show form or RenderListItem you need a Control Selector as mentioned on slide 18. You can just use right mouse click -> Add. Go on the new item on the right hand side, and click on "Add Multiple Labels". You can choose now how many radio buttons you have, here 2.
In our example enter in one Label "Condition" = "true" and "Label" = "Male" and in the other "Condition" = "false" and "Label" = "Female".
Finally, make sure that the Control Selector has the Schema Reference also as defined above (/DataShema/DataModel/Gender).

My requirement is to create an iview for Edit form so that i can assignt he ivew to end user to fill this form. I dont want to give content admin to end user.

Now I'm confused,what do you mean with create new data? Are users editing existing documents
(as if they go to a document example.xml > edit) or they are creating new documents (as if they go
on folder > new > forms)?
The problem is, in both cases a user would need read/write permissions.
The normal flow content (data) is created in KM is as follows:
1. user is assigned to a role
2. role contains KM Navigation iView
3. KM Navigation iView executes com.sap.km.cm.navigation component
4. user chooses New > Form UI command (edit_xml_forms)
5. edit_xml_forms UI command executes its code (com.sapportals.wcm.rendering.uicommand.cm.UIXMLFormsCreateCommand) and open xml edit for the user
6. user fill the form and click Save, form is created into folder
For what I understood so far, your requirement basically asks you to go directly to step 5, it is
possible to pass a URL that goes directly to step 5, the UI command button, but if you do that
you won't have a context, so chances that it will work are slim, since a context is required to
fill the parameters asked by the app (like folder, user, permissions, etc). Even though, in some cases you can
still pass the parameters via post in the URL but you must know which service/parameters the
app asks for it, also a URL is static...
That was the create scenario, I think it's more cons than pros, users would still be
able to bypass the URL iView created for that, I'd suggest evaluating again if it's really
a problem having users access cm to manage data

Cannot add new records through VC form when consuming IP write back query

I have created a planning application in IP and created a Form in VC (CE 7.1). I am not able to create new records in VC Form and save it back to the cube like the traditional excel form on IP does. I have attached a document with every step that i did as a screen shot in designing my model. The writing back of data using the Form works if i have preexisting data in the planning cube and if i am only changing the values of the existing data records it works great. I could consume the planning functions that i created and they work well within VC. But if i want to create new records in a empty planning cube it gives me error unlike planning in excel analyser lets me save it back to the cube. I have tested the same query in Excel Analyser and created new records and saved it back in the cube. Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

Hi PradeeP,
1. The BI Query itself has to support the entries of new lines. This is described in note 1149346.
However, if the Query allows entering new lines in the BEx Analyzer, then this prerequisite is fulfilled.
2. In the BI Query wizard in VC in the u201CChoose Presentationsu201D step, you have to include the key presentation for the characteristics.
If 1 and 2 are fulfilled and you still have the problem, it is strange...
Does the problem also occur if you create new records in a cube that already shows some data in the table view?

Cannot create new folders in Outlook

I just bought a new PC computer. I installed MSFT Office Professional Plus 2010. I opened Outlook and added in (i) the pst folder I had set up from my previous Vista
computer (also with Outlook 2010), (ii) my hotmail account, (iii) my at&t/yahoo account and (iv) my gmail account. I cannot create new folders in any of them.
When I right click anywhere in the navigation pane and select "New Folder..." I get the following error message:
"Outlook cannot read the registry information.
-Close and restart Outlook.
-Reinstall Outlook
-Reinstall Microsoft Exchange or other e-mail system."
I tried all three, including removing and reinstalling Office and removing all of the email accounts/pst files and re-adding and still have the problem.
If I try to right-click properties on any of the accounts, I get the same error message, with the following additional language first:
"Cannot display 'General' page. This page will remain visible, but is not available."
Not sure what is left to try.
Appreciate any ideas.

From your description, If the PC from clean install, you can follow these steps to test this issue.
1.
Start the Outlook in safe mode,
Press and hold the CTRL key,
and then click Outlook.
If the problem does not occur in the safe mode, this issue might be related to some third-party add-ins in the Office program, we can try to disable them.

Create a New profile & PST file to test this issue
If this problem does not occur in the new Outlook profile & PST, the old Outlook profile is corrupted. We can delete that and use a new Outlook profile.

Cannot create new folder?

I have just moved to a new hosting and have connected to it
and I can edit files. When I try to add a folder to the remove I'll
get
"An FTP error occured - cannot create new folder .
Access denied. The file may not exist or there could be a
permission problem".

solved by executing setup.exe /preparedomain
and I found one of the server in container ADSIEdit were disabled inheritance. execute setup.exe /prepareAD, reboot the server (because it
ask for it), then execute setup.exe /preparedomain

After upgrade to 6.3.4 cannot create new bookmarks by dragging nor open existing bookmark properties

Just upgraded to 3.64. Now I cannot create new bookmarks either by dragging a URL or trying to create a new one in organize bookmarks. For existing bookmarks when I hit properties on the pop up menu all I get is a title bar that says "bookmark properties for (name of bookmark)" but I can't resize it or otherwise manipulate the title bar to access information or change the properties

You may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

I suspect you're referring to the 3 free iCloud account limit on an iOS device. If so, there's no way around this. Once that limit is reached, you'll have to create the iCloud account on another iOS device or computer, then setup that account on your phone.

AME iExpenses: Cannot create new approver group

We need to set up approver groups for iExpenses. I assigned myself Approvals Management Administrator and Aprovals Management Business Analyst roles. With these roles I can create new attributes and conditions. However, I cannot create new action types and approval groups. The create button for the approval group just does nothing.
What am I missing? We are 11.5.10.2, AME.B

Cannot create new LWP?

To test my Server process, I make a Client process to send numerous requests by creating one-connection-one-thread.
Under same amount of connections (such as 50 connections), indefinitely, the process will be error as follow:
libthread panic: cannot creat new LWP (PID:XXX LWP 2) stacktrace:XXXXXX
my question is:
If there are limits of LWP in a process?
I use unbound thread and let the kernel to balance threads between LWP, must I use bound thread?

I've seen this when my program used a lot of file descriptors. Using truss I could see that a call to open /dev/zero failed and a libthread panic message was displayed. Try using the ulimit command to increase your limit on open files.

Cannot create new form in portal

hello
i have a problem creating a form in portal!
i log in portal with the username orcladmin, then i click on builder -> navigator -> providers -> open(any provider) -> create new form (or report or chart)
i get the error in internet explorer The page cannot be found (link =http://marpolas.marpol.si:7783/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwexp_api_engine.create_action)
in netscape the error is a little different
The requested URL /pls/portal/PORTAL.wwv_menu.menu was not found on this server.
it is imposible for me to create new forms in portal.
Any ideas?

Sounds like a problem with the privileges.
Try creating a new user, say user_temp, and grant the user Manage privilege to All Portal DB Providers and Manage to All Schemas.
Try creating a form after logging in as user_temp.
The minimum privileges required to create a Portal DB provider component is Create privilege on the Portal DB Providers and Manage on the Portal DB Provider schema.

Account active but cannot create new forms

Why when I attempt to create new form in active account it asks me to upgrade.
Anyone else have this experience and if so has it been resolved?
