• Error while creating new user in Oracle 11i EBS

I am getting following error while creating new user. How solve this issue?
“Unable to load java class % specified profile option SIGNON_PASSWORD_CUSTOM. Please verify that the class exists and that it implements the java interface oracle.apps.fnd.security.PasswordValidation”.

Following is the text from Note for Custom Password Validation logic:
Customers who wish to use their own password validation logic may do
so by writing their own Java classes that implement the
oracle.apps.fnd.security.PasswordValidation Java interface. The
interface requires 3 methods to be implemented:
1) public boolean validate(String user, String password)
- This method takes a username and password, and then returns true
or false, indicating whether the user's password is valid or invalid,
respectively.
2) public String getErrorStackMessageName()
- This method returns the name of the message to display when the
user's password is deemed invalid (i.e., the validate() method returns
false).
3) public String getErrorStackApplicationName()
- This method returns the application shortname for the
aforementioned error message.
After writing the Java class to perform customized password
validation, the customer must then set the value of the profile option
SIGNON_PASSWORD_CUSTOM to be the full name of the class. If, for
example, the name of the Java class is
oracle.apps.fnd.security.AppsPasswordValidation, then the value of the
SIGNON_PASSWORD_CUSTOM profile option must be
oracle.apps.fnd.security.AppsPasswordValidation. Note that AOL/J
will attempt to load this class dynamically. Hence it is necessary to
make the class accessible by AOL/J. This means that in Forms, the
class must first be loaded into the database using the loadjava
command.

• API for creating new User in Oracle E-Business Suite through BPEL

Hello,
I would like to use a BPEL process to create a new User in Oracle E-Business Suite. In the Integration Repository I was able to find an API called FND_USER_PKG/LOAD_ROW that creates/updates Application's User data. Is this the API I should be using? If so, I would like to better understand how to use this API.
I have created a simple BPEL process and added an Oracle Application Service, which uses this FND_USER_PKG/LOAD_ROW API. I set the following parameter before Invoking the Oracle Application Service: X_USER_NAME, X_ENCRYPTED_USER_PASSWORD and X_START_DATE. When I run the BPEL process I get the following error. I suspect that I am not passing all the required input parameters. Does anyone have any sample data I can use to get this API to load correctly? If I am using the wrong API, please let me know.
Please note, I have also posted this question to the SOA Suite and BPEL discussion forums...
Thank you kindly!

Hello and thank you for your response. I am new to using APIs so please excuse my inexperience... I am not sure how to run the API outside of BPEL... Is that something you could easily walk me through?
I have made the following changes in BPEL based on your recommendation: 1) Added Oracle Application Service and used the API, LDAP_WRAPPER_CREATE_USER, found in the Oracle Application Module Browser* under: Applications Technology (ATG_PF)> User Management (UMX)> User (FND_USER)> PLSQL> User (FND_USER_PKG)> LDAP_WRAPPER_CREATE_USER
2) Set the following parameter prior to Invoking the Oracle App Service: X_USER_NAME, X_UNENCRYPTED_PASSWORD,X_START_DATE, X_END_DATE, X_DESCRIPTION, X_EMAIL_ADDRESS, X_FAX, X_EXPIRE_PWD.
3) Deploy and run BPEL through BPEL Control.
I get the following {color:#ff0000}error on the Invoke{color}. {color:#339966}Do you see any issues with the values I am passing in the input{color}? Any idea why I am getting this error? Is there anything that I need to have configured for the API to work correctly, other than adding an Oracle Application Service in the BPEL?
Thank you for your time,
Christine

• Unable to create new user using Oracle Database vault

Hi,
can somebody help me to autorize user other then SYS user (e.g. system) to CREATE new and ALTER users when my database is secured by Oracle database vault with default installation settings;
Thanks

Reading the DV docs would be a great place to start.
Consider, for a moment, that if the normal privileges provided to SYS using DV worked the same as they do in a regular database you wouldn't have a data vault you'd have a regular database.
After you read the docs log on and try the following:
SELECT username
FROM dba_users
WHERE username LIKE 'DV%';Aha!

On Windows 7 x64, Installed Oracle 10g to use ODBC to connect to Oracle database but am not able to create new data source as Oracle ODBC does not show in System DSN.... only shows SQL server etc etc...

If you installed 32-bit Database Client, try the 32-bit ODBC admin tool: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe
Note that 10.2.0.5 is the earliest "10g" version supported on Win 7.

• Create new user in WebCenter Capture

Hi all,
Is it possible to create new user in Oracle WebCenter Capture?
In documentation I found that it can be done, but I can not find how...
Capture Users have client access to workspaces to which they have been granted access. Users are further granted access to specific client profiles. Capture user information is covered in Oracle Fusion Middleware Using Oracle WebCenter Capture. Any user that needs access to the client needs to be assigned the CaptureUser role in Oracle Enterprise Manager.

I found it, it is in Enterprise Manager.

Hara..It does not support the "dot". If you want to include that you will have to enclose the entire username in double-quotes :
CREATE USER "Finedocs4.1_SP1" IDENTIFIED BY Be aware that doing so will also make your username case sensitive, so it would always need to be enclosed. If you make sure the username is create in all caps (CREATE USER "FINEDOCS4.1_SP1" ) it will be effectively case-insensitive to the end user, but there will still be admin commands on the username that will still need to be enclosed in quotes to get around the dot.Correct. I would suggest re-thinking your naming scheme and trying to use something that does not have the . or -

• Create a new user in Oracle Bi enterprsie edition plss help

how can we create new users in for oracle bi
currently i have only adminsitrator as a user i want to create 5 different users please heklp me with steps to create the users
which module is to be used please guide me with steops as am new to otracle bi just started today
thanks

Hi,
If I understood your problem correctly, then I think that associated Group does not have Administrator previleges.. Only Administrator can access the Repository..
Alternatively, you can check those users by logging into BI Presentation Services.. Definitely those users will be logged in as you defined them in your Repository...
Only access to metadata (repository) will be denied to the users created by you (if they does not have Administrator previleges)..
Hope this will clarifies your problem..
I will be very happy if anyone corrects me..:)

• Create a new user for oracle 10G ASM instance with sysdba system privilege

Hi,
In our Golden Gate Project, we require the SYS user credential to connect to the Oracle 10g ASM instance to read the database transaction logs.But our client is not providing the SYS user credential to connnect to ASM instance.
I'm getting the error message "ORA-01109: database not open",When I tried to create a new user using the below the steps in oracle 10g ASM instance
1. Login using "sqlplus / as sysdba"
2. Create user <username> identified by <password>;
But in oracle 11g ASM instance, I'm able to create new user by connecting the ASM instance with SYSASM role without issues.
Is there is any workaround to create a new user with sysdba system privilege in oracle 10g ASM instance?.
Thanks in advance .

Hi,
Recreate the password file for the ASM instance as follows:
Unix:
orapwd file=<ORACLE_HOME>/dbs/PWD<SID> password=<sys_password>
Windows:
orapwd file=<ORACLE_HOME>/database/PWD<SID>.ora password=<sys_password>
Now sys password is reset, we are ready to use sys for ASM management. I decided to create another user ASMDBA as I tried above.
SQL> create user ASMDBA identified by test01;
User created.
SQL> grant SYSASM, SYSOPER to ASMDBA;
Grant succeeded.
SQL> select * from v$pwfile_users;
USERNAME SYSDBA SYSOPE SYSASM
SYS TRUE TRUE TRUE
ASMDBA FALSE TRUE TRUE

• Cannot copy or create new user in portal

Hi all,
I have tried to create new users in dual stack abap & java installation. However, j2ee_admin and sap* both display critical stop with message "An error has occured, contact your system administrator." Unfortunately, there is nothing more than this message in portal. I have used visual administrator from go.bat also but the result is the same with error:
Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.sap.security.core.persistence.datasource.PersistenceException
at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source)
at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
Any clues!
Regards.

Hi Eduardo/Jo,
That's fine, I can see abap user in both visual administrator and portal's identity mgt area.
However, when attempted to logon with an super admin role abap user, the portal displays, user is locked... okay, go to portal with j2ee_admin and unlock this user... again login and message user is still locked.... Go to visual administrator the same user appears as locked. click the pencil button and try to unlock, visual admin displays message "unable to unlock user. details are available in status bar".
Following is the perhaps relevant part of the long error details.
Caused by: com.sap.security.core.persistence.datasource.PersistenceException: Attribute "islocked" on namespace "com.sap.security.core.usermanagement" of principal "UACC.R3_DATASOURCE.MOHAMMAD" is not modifiable.
So, all in all, portal cannot logon with super administrator becuase it appears locked in visual admin, cannot unlock this user in visual admin because of above error message.
Any clues, please.
Regards.

That's right. Additionally, you can use assistant to perform this task. In the near future you may want to have the SQL Reference handy: http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/toc.htm

previously both of the system HLC and MFG is in level 6 SP ABAP and BASIS
when i try to create EWA report for both of them, i have missing module in the report
and i read a note that i need to upgrade to level 8.
when i upgrade both of them to level 7, then i run sgen and there are no problem on both system
but when i upgrade both of them to level 8
in my MFG system, i can run sgen with no problem.
in my HLC system, i run sgen and it take a long time to validate the programs which are need to be recompiled. so i never run sgen to recompile on HLC system after i update the SP to level 8. but i believe this shouldnt be an issue.

Hi all
problem is solved..
after doing some debugging, we found out

Hi..my problem slightly similar.
I created one new user, and didn't select anything from "Public Groups Assignment" and "Privilege Assignment" for him.
I expect the user will be a public user.
But, when he try to logged in the portal,
He cannot see all the PORTLETS related to database values..
All he can see just LINKS -that all in my portal right now beside the report from database that the user cannot see :)
So, what did i do wrong?
Plz Advise, and thanks.
