Cannot create playlist using itune

I cannot seem to create a playlist. I am using ITunes windows version and I IPhone 6 plus. When I connect and sync. Using ITunes I select File-New-playlist is greyed out it will not let me create a playlist on my IPhone.

Ok, Done by creating separate playlist
for each different folders. Only disadvantage is iPOD don't continue to the next playlist automatically, need to select next playlist manually. Wondering why is this so?

Plug your iPod into your computer, it will begin to sync. Now check to see if the playlists have been added.
If not, go to the songs tab under your iPod when it is connected to iTunes, Unless you have checked "Sync all songs (or something to those words)" you should have an option on what you can put on your iPod. Make sure to check the playlists that you want on your iPod.

Playlist: Creating playlist using folder names (auto)

Is there a way to auto-create playlists using existing folder names? I have about 90-100 folders that I had created over the years; manually creating playlist for each folder would be a pain. I am looking for a way to auto create these playlists while iTunes is importing my folders (or otherwise). Any advice highly appreciated.

iTunes alone has no way to do that. You will need a 3rd party folder watching program.

Cannot print playlists from Itunes. When I hit print it shows my printer - HP Officejet 6000, E609 but prints a bunch of little black
and gray squares. I can print on all other applications. I have not done this for awhile but it use to work. Thanks for any help.

That looks to be our problem.
I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

Can't get itunes to create playlist using songs on ipod

How do I integrate the songs on my ipod with the itunes on my new computer without losing my downloads? I successfully authorized my new computer (Windows XP) for my itunes account. When I access my account on the new computer it shows all the songs that are on my ipod (downloaded from old computer) but they are in faint print and I cannot play them or create playlists. Every time I log on, it asks me if I want to copy the songs from the new computer onto the ipod. I tried this once and it wiped out all my other songs. Luckily, I still had the old computer and was able to retrieve my music.

You need to connect the iPod to the original computer. Open Preferences and select the iPod tab. Choose "manually manage songs and playslists."
You need to do it on the computer you want to manually manage songs on, not the original computer.
You will now be able to create the playlists on another computer.
As stated abive, you will hav to set this on teh new computer, not the original.
Also, you don't even need an iPod conected to create or manange playlists on the computer.
If you want to create and manage playlists on the iPod you obviously will need to connect it to a computer.
But doing this only on the iPod is not a good idea because if theiPod crashes, you lose them.
Create them in iTunes and sync them to the iPod.

I used to be able to just right click on the music folder under my device and create a playlist that I could drag music into, but now that doesn't happen at all. I cannot create a playlist at all on my device unless I create it the itunes window and then move the entire playlist to my device. The problem with this is that I can't add any new music to the playlist once it's there, and I can't delete anything either. I'm really frustrated by this...how can I create a playlist like I could before where it was so simple and I could just drag whatever I wanted into it? Help me please!!

How do you create playlists in iTunes 11

Hi all...
I'm very frustrated with itunes 11.
Before I would create playlists( usually smart playlist) going by Band/Artist. I could then select the playlist and it would play through all the albums for the particular artist. And once it gets to the end of the albums and last song... It would just go back to the initial album and play through again.
I don't understand this... But I can't seem to create a playlist like I used to create them. I'm completely lost. Can anyone help me with this problem.

If you click View > Sidebar you will see your playlists in the left hand side.
The process to create a playlist or Smart playlist is the same as before. File > New > Playlist
When you have created your playlist you can drag, Songs, Albums, Artists and genres like you used to.

I just want to create playlists in Itunes 11

I am on an IMac. I am running 10.6.8 I am trying to work with the loathsome Itunes 11.1 . All I want to do is create playlists from my library. I don't want Genius. I don't want the Itunes Store. I don't want Icloud. I just want to do what I used to do so effortlessly which is create playlists. I can find no tutorials, no questions in the support community, no help anywhere in this giant sprawling useless support effort. Everytime I go to look at the Itunes features, instead of help, I am treated to propaganda about how great it is. When I found a tutorial - and I deeply resent how long it takes to find even the most basic information - the thing broke. I am not doing this on my Ipad, My Iphone, My Ipod I am just trying to do it on my Imac. Now, because my airplayer doesn't function well, I often can't get on the internet when I am using Itunes and yet everytime I click on the playlists it wants to talk to the Itunes Store. I don't want to talk to the Itunes store! For 147 billion we have ended up with a hot mess.

Create playlists in itunes from purchased cd

Previous version of iTunes had a folder called 'music' (I think that was the name) at the top of all playlists. This folder contained all music - purchased from iTunes and uploaded from CD. It was easy to create a playlist by clicking on 'music', highlighting songs desired in playlist and dragging the songs to the playlist. Now in the latest version the 'music' folder is gone from the playlist window and the playlists are gone from the 'songs' window. Purchased is one of the playlists, so if you purchased all of your music from Apple, then no problem in making playlists. However, if you purchased CDs, you cannot easily access this music to add to a playlist. I just figured out how to go around the system - highlight all music in songs window, right click and create playlist titled 'all'. Now I have ALL music in the 'plalist' window. Is this an Apple Maps screw-up, or is this Apple making it difficult if you did not purchase the music from iTunes? or, is it me missing something? Appreciate any helpful feedback.

Press Ctrl-S to turn on the sidebar and Ctrl-B to turn on the menu bar. This should restore much of the familiar interface from the previous version...

Is there a way to add songs on my iPhone into a playlist using iTunes on another computer?

I am at work today and want to organize some of my songs that are currently on my iPhone into a playlist. Is there a way to do this using iTunes on my work computer? I'd rather not go to each song individually using my phone for this, as it would take forever lol. Please help!

Creating Playlists in iTune

I have my iPod working fine and have created Playlists on it. BUT, I have now added the Playlists in iTunes and I can't drag any song to any of my Playlists. When I drag a song to my Playlists in the iPod itself, that works. The one I choose, turns blue and allows me to drop any song in any Playlist. But, when I try to do that in iTunes, nothing works. When I drag a song to a Playlist, and drop it, the song springs back to it's original place. Can someone please help me? Thank you so much. Sandy

Well, in your 1st post, I was also clueless as to what you were talking about.

Looking at your response now, I have a better understanding of what you were trying to do.
You cannot drag songs from the iPod to iTunes.
I thought you might be trying to drag songs to a Smart Playlist.
The best way to manage playlist witht he least amount of hassle is to create them & edit them in iTunes and then drag the playlist to the iPod.

Is there a way i can juste take all the songs in my ipod (the songs are still in my itunes library) and put it in a playlist on itunes on my mac? because i'm returning back a new defect ipod and i want to keep the track so i can just easily put them again in my new fonctionnal ipod?

When you connect the iPod, you should see your Summary page... it has a picture of the iPod, next to its name, serial number, software version, capacity, and format. Down towards the bottom of this page is a section entitled Options. Below this there is an option that says "manually manage music and videos." Is this option selected?
If so, iTunes is expecting you to manually click and drag songs to the iPod. If you'd rather iTunes & iPod match, you can uncheck this option, as well as the one that says "enable disk use" and then click Apply. This should make the two match.
If this option is not selected, check to make sure the songs that are not transferring to the iPod play in iTunes.
