"Cannot create project" + Lost former projects

When trying to start a new project in iMovie, I am prompted with,"Please check the disk to ensure there is enough free space and you have permission to write projects." How do I remedy this problem? I have 213.28 GB free.

Two things to try:
1. Try deleting the preferences file for iMovie. Go to the Desktop, choose Go Menu (hold the down Option Key) and choose Library. Navigate to Preferences>com.apple.iMovieApp.plist (for iMovie '11). Move that .plist to the trash and restart iMovie. Then see if you get the same result
2. Try repairing the preferences. Go to the Applications>Utilties> Disk Utility. Launch Disk Utility and Repair Disk Permissions. When that completes, restart the Mac and open iMovie try creating a new Project.

Cannot create a new WPF project

In Visual Studio 2013 pro whenever I try to create a new WPF project I receive the following messages:
"The file MainWindow.xaml.cs could not be found within the project templates. Continuing to run, but the resulting project may not build properly."
Then this one:
"The file MainWindow.xaml could not be found within the project templates. Continuing to run, but the resulting project may not build properly."
And then this one:
"Unable to copy the file 'MainWindow.xaml' from the project template to the project. Cannot find file "C:\Users\yoav\AppData\Local\Temp\5jqynsvu.cxy\Temp\MainWindow.xaml".
I tried resetting VS settings as described here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms247075%28v=vs.90%29.aspx
and to reset the project templates as described here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/vstudio/ms247116%28v=vs.100%29.aspx
but with no success.
My PC is Windows 7 64bit and up until this morning everything worked fine...

Actually you mean that you get this issue just when you create the default WPF project with the template, am I right?
If so, I feel that it is your VS IDE issue.
To make sure that it is not the add-ins issue, if you run your VS in safe mode, how about the result?

Or you could run it as the admin. Test it again.
If still no help, please repair your VS from the control panel. Or you could re-install it.

I cannot create an empty SOA project in JDeveloper 11.1.1.6

I can only create a SOA application.
I know that this option was available in the previous versions.
BTW, I have added the SOA Composite Editor update without any issues.

Cannot create a Struts Form bean using jdeveloper 10g

Hello I'm new to jdeveloper and struts and triying to create a sample login page following this tutorial :http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/handson/struts/strutshandson.html
But I have a little problem in the 3rd excercice (Building Struts Form Beans and Actions)
when I follow the instructions "Select File | New > Choose Web-Tier in the Categories, and select Struts > Select ActionForm from the Items > Click OK. "
there is no ActionForm Item ! the only available item is "Struts Controller page Flow" and I allready used this one to create the struts' project template !
(same thing : Struts Action in the next tutorial section is not available)
BTW : I have to use jdeveloper 9.0.5.2 and not a latest version

In oracle Open Script (OATS) OracleEBS/Forms project all the elements or fields are being identified as web objects.

In oracle Open Script (OATS), we have created an OracleEBS/Forms project. But when we try to record the script all the elements or fields are being identified as web objects. Due to this we are unable to use the functions like getText. Hence, please help.

If it is a name resolution I would try either replacing the server name in the script with the IP address or making an entry in the local host file of the machine trying to play back the script
If you try one or both of those approaches does the script play back?

Cannot creat idvd from imovie

pls. assist cannot create idvd from imovie project as it hangs the application on the point of renderring audio files...
what is whrong had been done whithin imovie project then?

My personal worst was a 1 hr 50 min video with 14 imported music clips. Took 42 hours to render, but it got there in the end!
Oh, then 24 hours isn't so bad :-|
What kind of audio files did you use then? I guess it shouldn't make a difference because iMovie converts them to AIF. What sample rate did they use -- 44.1 or 48 kHz? iMovie should convert them to 48 kHz but I haven't checked how well iMovie behaves with imported audio.
Maybe iDVD chokes with overlapping audio clips or when resampling them??
I hope the quality testing of iLife 07 is any better. iMovie 2.1.2 is the last well behaving version!

Cannot create windows driver project

Hello,
I'm using Visual Studio 2013 Professional and I'm still in the trial period.

Why if i disconnect my external drive, i cannot create a new project,

why if i disconnect my external drive, i cannot create a new project, I've got, message : the operation couldn't be completed cannot allocate memory,
what i want is to create m "scratch disk" on my internal hard disk.

It works i reinstalled it properly and repaired permissions too. but how come now it doesn' t display h264 files before to have transcoded them. Yesterday i had h264 displayed immediately

when i try to create a new project, i get an error message that says "cannot create project. Please check the disk to ensure there is enough free space and you have permission to write projects. " what gives?

i just figured this out in case someone else has this problem. go to your "movies" folder and make sure you have read/write access, for some reason i couldn't write to the folder. i also moved all of my downloaded movies to a new folder, which might have helped.

When creating and publishing a project, Project Server is set up to create a site URL as part of the process. Since the middle part of this week 12/16/14 this functionality
stopped working and we need it to be working.

Cannot create a project with netbeans 4.1

hi. i am using jdk1.5 update 3 with netbeans 4.1. my operating system is ubuntu linux 5.04. when i want to create a new project with netbeans i get this error:
javax.xml.transform.TransformerConfigurationException: Could not compile stylesheet
i open netbeans, click button "new project", select "General > Java Application", click "next" button.
project name: JavaApplication1
project location: /home/bsevindi
project folder: /home/bsevindi/JavaApplication1
when i click "finish" button, i get the error above. what should i do? BTW, i have compiled
a sample project and it works fine. the problem is only about creating a new project.

This forum is better for question regarding programming rather than how to use an IDE.

Lost Video project

I have been working on a project for several weeks, but on booting up this morning i find the named project missing although all the other projects and event clips were there. I looked in the trash, I looked back over several days in Time Machine which backs up every hour, I searched in Finder under the project name. Nothing ! Yet everything else was there on a day by day basis. I find this totally weird as nothing else is missing, just all the many week's work in putting all this together. I can not recall doing anything untoward and have worked steadily on a repetitive process daily. How can something just vanish even in the external hard drive backup ? Does anyone have any suggestions ? I can obviously start the whole project again, but the weeks of work that went into it will be frustrating, and surely it must be somewhere.

Sorry it's taken a few days to get back to you. I've been busy re-editing and exporting the project I had "lost", among other things. All is well now. I did most of the work in Final Cut Pro X but then had trouble with the background rendering and FCP X freezing. So, had to remove some effects, titles and transitions, then finish the job in iMovie. My "client" (family friend) is very happy with the final product (a 50th wedding anniversary). So all's well that ends well.
Earlier you asked about Final Cut Pro X and mentioned Adobe Premiere as the preferred choice of a camera store guy. As you appear to be fairly new to video editing, my advice would be to persevere with iMovie. It's quite an easy program to use once you get the hang of how things work. Your earlier reading of information in the links I provided should help with this. Final Cut Pro X is an amazing piece of work, but there is quite a learning curve, being far more complex than iMovie. You can move up to this once you feel comfortable with iMovie. FCP X has a similar interface to iMovie '11, but there is lots more going on under the hood! I can't comment on Adobe Premiere as I've never used it.
I'm still confused as to what you've done with your iMovie Events (not to mention Projects!). If you have moved them out of the iMovie Events folder in the Finder, they must be returned there, otherwise iMovie will not recognize them. One way of doing this is to drag Event clips into iMovie's Drop Box. When iMovie is next opened, you will be given the opportunity to import these clips into an iMovie Event (either a new one or an existing one). I've inserted below the Help article from iMovie Help (italicised and in quotes):
"Import video from iMovie Drop Box
When you import video into iMovie the first time, iMovie creates a folder on your hard disk called iMovie Drop Box.
You can copy or save video files to this drop box without opening iMovie. To find the drop box folder on your hard disk, go to your home folder/Movies/iMovie Events. In the Finder window, the home folder has the house icon to the left of its name.
Every time you launch iMovie, it checks if there are new files in the drop box and if so, it asks you if you want to import them into iMovie. The drop box is a convenient way to save files to your computer quickly without having to import them into iMovie right away.
To import files from iMovie Drop Box:
Open iMovie.iMovie detects if you have new items in the drop box that haven’t yet been imported.
In the dialog that opens, do any of the following:
To add the files to an existing Event, select “Add to existing Event” and then choose an options from the pop-up menu.
To create a new Event with the files, select “Create new Event” and then type a name in the text field.
If you’re importing HD video, select “Optimize video,” and then choose Full or Large from the pop-up menu.
Click Import.
The files now appear in iMovie, within the Event you specified at the time the files were imported."
You said in your last post: "I tried Camera archive and all I get is my Sony camera which I don't understand. I tried imovie iOS project and imovie HD project. What is the difference because none of them enabled me to import anything either from projects or events."
Camera Archive is a very important feature in iMovie that allows you to archive the original footage from your camera. It's essential to do this so that you can always go back to the archive if things go amiss with the Events in iMovie and you no longer have the clips on your camera. The clips are stored in an Archive folder in their original AVCHD format. These can be imported at any time to an iMovie Event and will be converted to the AIC format, ready for editing in a Project (as I described in an earlier post here). To import from a Camera Archive, from iMovie's menu select File > Import ⇒ Camera Archive then navigate to the Archive folder to select the clips for import. You can get more information from iMovie Help - search for "Make a back-up copy (archive) of the contents of your camcorder".
Regarding iMovie iOS projects - these relate to clips taken with an iPhone or iPad that have been edited in those devices using the iMovie for iOS app. The edited project can be imported to iMovie on your Mac for further work if desired. An iMovie HD project is a project that has been edited on an earlier version of iMovie (either iMovie HD - version 5, or iMovie HD - version 6). Both these versions work quite differently, and have a completely different interface, to the later versions (iMovie '08 through iMovie '11). The earlier versions (up to iMovie HD 6) are no longer supported by Apple, but Apple had the foresight to allow the earlier projects to be imported to the current version (although in a limited form).

Cannot open project file in Project 2010

Hi,
I have a project created in Project 2010. I can save it without any problems. But some saves are broken and I cannot open them again. When I open saved project an error message is displayed:
There was a problem sending the command to the program and Project freezes. Project 2010 itself starts without any problems. What's strange I can open this file in viewers like MOOS Project Viewer 2.0 but not in Project.
Any tips highly

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :-)
It sound as though that project has corruption. If you can open it at all, follow the advice given below. If you can’t open it at all, it seems like it’s lost – you do have a backup don’t you?
If you can open it in another program, try copy/paste the data back into a new project.
If you suspect a corrupt file, you could try the suggestions in FAQ Item: 43. Handling project file corruption and/or bloat.
