Cannot create slideshow with high frame rate

I have just bought QuickTime Pro version 7. I am using Windnows XP SP2 on a Pentium D machine.
I am trying to create a movie with still images I captured from my digital camera. I created a 10 seconds slideshow and set the frame rate to 30 frames per second. I then saved the file as a Quicktime movie. When I played the movie with my QuickTime Player, I could see actions for the first two seconds only. After that, the picture didn't change eventhough the progression bar was moving. Once the movie reached the end, the player then changed the frame to show the last picture of my slideshow.
In short, only the first 60 images are shown in the first 2 seconds. Then the slideshow was stuck with the 60th image, until it changed to the 300th image at the very end.
Does anybody has the same experience? Did I do anything wrong?

One more thing. If I set the frame rate to be less than 10 frames per second, it works fine. It just won't work with high frame rate.

  • "Cannot play video with this frame rate&qu

For reasons that aren't important here I cannot use the Zen video converting software. Instead, I've been using the trial version of the Caniusoft Video to Creative Zen converter. Only once has a video played, but as soon as I closed the video and opened it up again this message appeared. "Cannot play video with this frame rate." Daniusoft offers frame rates from 5 fps to 30. I've tried all of them and none of them work. Has this been a problem for others? Perhaps I need a different converter?
    ps.
..i'm converting flash video to avi. Does that make a difference?

I can't answer your question in full (maybe somebody else can). However, I am aware that both the Zen and the Zen X-Fi can only play video files up to 320x240 resolution. Previous players like the Vision M were able to scale files down to this resolution on the fly, but not these two newer players.

  • High Latency with low frame rate

I'm getting 30 seconds of latency (between source video and
FME input window) when frame rate is set to 1.00 fps. With higher
frame rates, latency is very low.
Odd behavior: when switching from, say, 29.97 to 1.00 fps, I
see every frame (no frames are dropped), but they paint at only 1
per second (which means a large buffer is building somewhere).
After several seconds, the behavior switches to the expected 1 fps
(with all intervening frames dropped), but the whole thing is
    delayed by roughly 30 seconds.
    build: FME 2.5.0.2086
format: H.264 or VP6 (happens with both)
    size: 352 x 240
    bit rate: 200 Kbps
    keyframe freq: 1 sec
    Am I doing something wrong?

My encoding machine is a Gateway Pentium 4, 2 GHz with 1
GByte RAM, Windows XP Service Pack 2.
Video capture is done with a Pinnacle 510-USB peripheral,
    Pinnacle driver 4.0.46.0.
Here's how I observe the problem: my input video is a color
bar pattern with burned-in time code. When I switch frame rates
from 29.97 fps to 1 fps, I see each and every frame appear in the
Media Encoder monitor window (as verified by looking at the
burned-in frame counter). However, only one 1 frame per second is
rendered. For example, I first see 01:00:00:01, then 1 second later
I see 01:00:00:02, then 1 second after that: 01:00:00:03, etc.
After several seconds, I then begin to see the burned-in time
code jumping in 1 second counts -- the expected behavior:
    01:00:20:13, next second: 01:00:21:13, next second: 01:00:22:13,
    etc.
The problem occurs when switching from any rate lower than my
source video rate of 29.97 fps, it's just that it's easier to
describe what happens at the lower 1 fps rate.

  • Understanding compositions with different frame rate

    Hey everyone,
I am working with AVCHD footage with a frame rate of 25.
If it drop my footage into a new compostion after affects sets everything
    up automatically.
I'd now like to what happens to my avchd clip if I change the frame rate
of my compostion from 25 to 24. What excatly happens to the frame
missing? Does AE just gets rid of it?
Does it make a difference if I just change my comp settings from 25 to 24
or if I drop my 25 comp into a new one with 24.
Thinking of it the other way around, if I change my frame rate from 25 to 50,
does that mean that AE doubles the frames of my files?
In general, does the changes have any impact on the speed of my footage?
I'm looking forward to your reply. Much appreciated.
    Best,
    Alex
PS: this count for Premier Pro aswell?

When you create a layer in a composition, and that layer is based on a video footage item, the composition checks at each composition frame to see (sample) the data from the footage item. If there isn't a single frame of data from the footage item that exactly lines up with the frame in the composition, then the composition samples from the footage frames on either side and does one of several things: It can either just pick one of the two frames, or it can just mix them together, or it can do something much smarter and try to reconstruct the image that would have existed between the two frames. What it does depends on what frame blending setting you're using.
When you're using a footage item that has a higher frame rate than your composition, and both frame rates are relatively high, you don't need to worry about this at all, as the default settings tend to work just fine.
To sum up, changing the frame rate of the composition just changes how often the composition samples the image data from the footage item. It does nothing to the footage item itslef and doesn't affect how fast the video from that footage item plays in a layer.
To interpret a footage item as being at another frame rate, or to conform a footage item to a frame rate, you have to use the Interpret Footage dialog box.
For more information, see "Frame rate".

  • Perf. implications of high frame rate

What are the performance implications of using a high frame
rate in Flex. Our designers suggest that a frame rate of 60fps is
smoother animation. They are creating Flex components with Flash
CS3 and want to use the higher rate and use them in Flex.

As you might expect, a higher framerate is going to consume
more of the CPU. It's pretty much that simple. Some end user's
computers may not be able to keep up with the framerate and their
experience will be less smooth, probably less smooth than if you
used a smaller framerate. I suggest you experiment.

  • High frame rate outputting

Is it possible, having shot footage at 100fps (with a timebase at 25), then interpreted footage as 100fps to maintain the high speed frame rate, to output this as a 100fps file, to be watched at the same speed? I'm guessing only some machines/players can support this, but this is separate issue. I'm wanting to find out about getting a workflow for high frame rate footage in Premiere (or After Effects, as I read somewhere else this can support 99fps outputs.)
This is not a question of slow motion shooting/overcranking- there seems to be the capability to shoot high frame- is it possible to retain this in order to output it at the same speed it was shot?
But the issue seems that high end footage (say from a RED for instance) can only support a timebase framerate of maximum 59.96 (although something like a GoPro can go to 120p)
Would be great to discuss this more- its only a matter of time before this becomes more prevalent...

If the GoPro 2 does 60p I'd do that if you want slow footage from that cam too.   Either way I'd do a custom project storyline at 720/30 frames. Then do some web searching on the term "conform" because you'll want (I think) to conform the fast stuff down and that will slow it down. You'll just import some portion of your 120fps footage from the event library  and  and choose Conform Speed from the Retime menu (command R). You can go beyond that by retiming further and by choosing Optical Flow for video quality. If that still isn't enough you might need twixtor but you may find that's workable. If you shoot at 120fps you'll get some seriously slow stuff after conforming and retiming slower.

  • Why do I get "Publish Failed" when I select F4V with fixed frame rate?

I have created several projects from scratch in Captivate 5. My publishing functionality seems to be increasingly impaired. I have rebooted and uninstalled + reinstalled Captivate 5.
In the beginning I got this message when I was publishing a specific project with the media option F4V with fixed frame rate, but now I am getting it on all my projects regardless of my publishing selections.
I am running on Windows 7, and I think it is Windows that is suggesting that I 'debug' the program. Clicking 'Debug' takes me to a dialog box where I can choose between Visual Studio 2005 or Visual Studio 2008, none of which seem to be a good solution.
Here is a print of my publishing options:

    Chinmay Baid,
Thank you for your reply - over the past few days I have been able to
narrow the problem down a little more.
When working with Captivate 5, I am able to work with and open any
published file until I turn that file into a Zip file.  Upon unZipping,
the file becomes unusable by my computer and by my LMS (Cornerstone).
I am using Adobe Flash Professional CS5 and I am able to run any SWF file
on my machine if the file has never been zipped.  I am using Captivate 5
in administrator mode.  Somehow, the zip process is making the files
unusable, and my LMS requires that files be zipped before they can be
    uploaded.
Thank you for any advice or help you may be able to offer.

    Hi,
Can you please give the following details :
Can you please check and tell the Flash player version
    (plugin,activex,standalone) installed on your machine?
Also, are you able to play the standalone SWF on your machine?
Did you launch Adobe Captivate 5 in administrator mode?

  • 4K Monitor Support - Higher Frame Rate Hz

To all those geeks who are trying to get 4K support from your MacBook Pro I have done it.  Using SwitchResX, Belkin Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter it works on the Seiki SE50UY04.  I am powering it with a MacBook Pro 2.3GHz Intel Core i7, 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3, running 10.8.4 OS X.  I have plugged the Belkin into the left side LightingBolt outlet.  I am running the Seiki monitor at 3480x2160 @14Hz.  Images are fine.  Screen a little slow, but usable.  Have run a number of 4K videos using Quicktime7 and FlipPlayer and DIVx.  FlipPlayer was not as good.
FYI.  The Best Buy rocketfish Thunderbolt/Mini Displayport to HDMI adapter did NOT work.  Nor did the right sided HDMI port on the MacBook.
Has anyone gotten this to work at a higher frame rate and how did they do it?

I did what you did, but with te timing from the link below.
It works with 15 Hz - wow!
Then I aranged the screens and restart again.
After this in system/monitor (standard controlfield) I can select as frequency 15 Hz AND 30 Hz.
Did it - got it! 4K at 30 Hz is what my seiki SE39UY04 is telling and what I can see.
For info: My miniDispayport to HDMI is Club3D CAC1153 (active one HDMI1.4)!
    God luck

  • Inserting old swf into new fla with different frame rate

Hi, I'm trying to insert an old banner ad into a new Flash site.  The problem is, the banner I made at 20 frames per second, and the Flash site is set to 41, so it literally plays the banner twice as fast.  Any ideas as to what I can do about this?  Thank you.

A few of them I may have the original source files on disk.  Do you know what's the easiest way to transpose them to the higher frame rate?
For the ones I don't have, I should open the swf file in the new site and add a frame between each already existing frame?
Yes I imported the swf, I'm kind of just finding my way around Flash and I don't know how to load them dynamically.  If I did load them dynamically, would they play at their original frame rate?

  • How can I edit multiple clips with different frame rates on the same timeline

how can I edit multiple clips with different frame rates on the same timeline

You do not want to edit material from different frame rates on one timeline. You CAN do this, but it is a very bad idea - and this is why.
Once you establish the sequence frame rate - lets say it is PAL material at 25fps, any material that you drop into the sequence other than 25 fps will have to be changed to play at 25 fps. If the material you add is NTSC (29.97), FCP will DROP 5 frames per sec to bring the frame rate down to 25 fps. Which 5 get thrown away? Every 6th one. This yields a funky cadence that becomes even more complex as as there are also interlaced fields (DV/NTSC is an interlaced format). Oh, and by the way, the image sizes are different as well. DV/PAL has 576 lines of resolution and DV/NTSC has 480. FCP has to scale up the NTSC to fit the PAL frame.
You do not want FCP adjusting these things on the fly. You want to do a thoughtful (and time consuming) conversion so that you end up with all your material in one format with the best possible image from the conversion process. Compressor can do an adequate job with Frame Controls turned on. The Natress Standards Conversion FCP plugin is another way to go. A third option is to find a post house that can do the conversion for you using a hardware based process.
The good news is, once everything is in the same format, editing it will be painless and the output process very quick.
Whatever frame rate/ image size you select, I'd suggest using ProRes for the codec. It is 4:2:2 color and will withstand color correction and composting with much more grace than any variant of DV based codecs.
    Have fun.

  • How to build a array with high sampling rates 1K

    Hi All:
Now I am trying to develop a project with CRio.
But I am not sure how to build a array with high sampling rates signal, like >1K. (Sigle-point data)
Before, I would like to use "Build Arrary" and "Shift Register" to build a arrary, but I found it is not working for high sampling rates.
Is there anyother good way to build a data arrary for high sampling rates??

Can't give a sample of the FPGA right now but here is a sample bit of RT code I recently used. I am acquiring data at 51,200 samples every second. I put the data in a FIFO on the FPGA side, then I read from that FIFO on the RT side and insert the data into a pre-initialized array using "Replace Array subset" NOT "Insert into array". I keep a count of the data I have read/inserted, and once I am at 51,200 samples, I know I have 1 full second of data. At this point, I add it to a queue which sends it to another loop to be processed. Also, I don't use the new index terminal in my subVI because I know I am always adding 6400 elements so I can just multiply my counter by 6400, but if you use the method described further down below , you will want to use the "new index" to return a value because you may not always read the same number of elements using that method.
The reason I use a timeout of 0 and a wait until next ms multiple is because if you use a timeout wired to the FIFO read node, it spins a loop in the background that polls for data, which rails your processor. Depending on what type of acquisition you are doing, you can also use the method of reading 0 elements, then using the "elements remaining" variable, to wire up another node as is shown below. This was not an option for me because of my programs architecture and needing chunks of 1 second data. Had I used this method it would have overcomplicated things if I read more elements then I had available in my 51,200 buffer.
Let me knwo if you have more qeustions

  • Low frame rate even with high bit rate

I am using a Logitech QuickCam Pro for Notebooks (the model that supports UVC per Logitech's website) with a new Mac Pro and iChat. Whether I do a video iChat over the internet or one within my internal network, the fps per the connection doctor of my camera is about 6 fps, even if the bit rate is over 2000 (which is what is was when I did the internal network chat). I can't find any setting where I can increase the fps rate, I can only increase the bit rate in the camera preferences in iChat.
The camera is capable of up to 30 fps and when I do a video recording with it in QuickTime Pro and play it back, QuickTime Pro shows the frame rate as 30. So the camera is connected properly and is working properly. Any ideas on how to get the fps up to 15 in iChat (which seems to be the maximum, per the MacBook Pro I used for my internet network test above)? Thank you.

Thanks for the reply, Tony. Changing the bit rate limit to 500 did not cause the frame rate to change. On my test with my internal network if I had the limit set to none then bit rate was over 2000 but frame rate was only 5-6. When I limited the bit rate to 500 it dropped while the frame rate remained unchanged a 5-6 fps.
When I was doing an internet chat I also changed the bit rate limit to be none, 500, or 1Mbps to see what would happen and the connection doctor showed my frame rate staying at 5-6 and my bit rate staying below 100 (so changing the maximum bit rate setting made no difference). Meanwhile, the person I was chatting with had a frame rate of 15 and a bit rate of about 250.
I'm on a cable modem just like the person I was doing the internet chat with, so I guess the problem is something to do with iChat and my Logitech web cam, not my internet connection.

  • Relink project clips with different frame rate

Somehow the clips in my project sequence ended up with a different frame rate (25) than the original media files (23.95), and they are no longer linked -- maybe this happened during import from iMovie.  When I try to relink project files to source media, I get an error message saying they cannot be relinked because they have a different frame rate.  I changed the sequence framerate to 23.95 (by creating a new project with 23.95 as the frame rate, then copying and pasting the other timeline into it), but all the clips remain at 25, so the problem remains.
How can I change the clip properties to frame rate 23.95 so I can link to the original media?
    Thanks.

The media got unlinked importing the project and events from iMovie to Final Cut.
I've attached screen shots with all the specs.

  • How to render a video from image sequence with custom frame rate?

    Dear all,
For a project i would like to create a video from 47 images with a custom frame rate. To achieve this i take the following steps in Photoshop CS6 extended:
    1) File -> Open...
    2) Select the first image and select " image sequence ". All images have the same size (1280 x 1261 px) and are numbered correctly.
    3) Click open
    4) Frame Rate: Custom 3 fps
    5) File -> Export -> Render Video... -> Render
    6) Play the video with VLC. The video shows a still image of the first image.
If i choose a frame rate of 10 fps, then there is no problem. VLC plays the video as expected.
Is there a other way to create a video from 47 images and choose a custom frame rate? Or what am i doing wrong?
