Cannot create wireless network

I am having an issue making the myRIO create its own wireless network. It has the capacity to do so, as shown in the NI myRIO tutorial video at http://www.ni.com/academic/students/learn-rio/applications/ in the Data Dashboard and NI myRIO video @ 57 seconds. In the video, it clearly shows the option to create the wireless network, however, when i follow the video's instruction, I don't have the listed option to create the wireless network. The image attached shows my screen and the clear absence of the option.
I am new to myRIO and thus still learning, but I don't have any idea why I don't have that option. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Juan

It was a while ago when I last udated, so I am not completely sure what I did.
I would just run the NI update service and see what it wants to update.
Then open Max and find the myRIO. Go to the "system setting tab (along the bottom) and click the button to "update firmware". Select the newest from the dialog.

  • Cannot create wireless network. I use the 2wire modem of att verse...

I cannot creat a wireless network connecting the time capsule to the 2wire att uverse modem....

    Need a bit more info..
You cannot create a wireless network that joins another.
And you cannot extend a non-apple wireless network.
If you want to join the TC to the existing wireless network.. old down the options key when you click on options for wireless mode.. now if you are on lion you need 5.6 utility.
Once the TC joins the network it becomes a simple wireless client with everything basically off.
A much better option is to plug the TC into the 2wire with ethernet.. and bridge the TC.. it is then accessible from the 2wire wireless network or you can create a second wireless network or a reinforced one.
Bridge is under internet tab in manual setup.. connection sharing.. off bridged mode.

  • Sometimes cannot find wireless networks??

i've looked around on a couple messege boards, but they didn't seem to be exactly the same problem i was having.
essentially, after waking up from sleep or hibernate, i sometimes cannot find wireless networks.  the wireless switch will be on, Fn + F5 says my wireless is on, yet nothing can be found.  strangely, when i try to turn off wireless, whether it's through Fn +F5, or the hardware switch, the light below the monitor remains ON.  basically, i can't even turn it off.  when i do click the button to try and turn off wireless, it gives me the busy cursor and eventually the whole menu disappears.
the way to fix this is by restarting.
just today, however, i suffered this same problem, even though i wasn't coming back from sleep or hibernate - it just lost connection randomly and then couldn't find any networks.  attempts to turn off wireless failed.
is there a solution?  is this actually the same problem that was remedied by changing a power setting?
    thanks in advance.

Yeah I'm having this problem too, with my antique T41 running XP. It used to be rock solid it seemed to change when I installed XP SP3.
I have tried reinstalling the Intel drivers but that hasn't helped. It seems when it restarts after hibernate (and occasionally at other times, as with the previous poster) it somehow doesn't lock on to the signal or it gets confused in the protocol or something. It doesn't always happen though - about one in three.  Rebooting cures it...until the next time....
any assistance / ideas most welcome, thanks.
PS I'm using Windows Zero Configuration not Access Connections. That was a change some years ago that made it work better so I'm inclined to stick with that unless someone can tell me why not....

  • Create wireless network from MBP

    Hello,
My work place doesn't use wireless network and I have to use ethernet connection to connect my MBP online. But my iPhone is out of luck and have to use EDGE for the connection (mine is 2G iPhone).
Is there a way to setup my MBP so that it creates a wireless network for my iPhone to connect to? I'm thinking like printer sharing feature but for internet... Is it even possible??
    Thanks for any help!!

Yes I saw the Internet Sharing option, but the box is grayed out and I cannot activate it. Please help.
    Thanks again!

  • Creating wireless network (& connecting Xbox 360)

    Hello,
I have an iMac G5 and a newly acquired Xbox 360..unfortunately both are in sperate rooms.
I have a Sppedtouch USB modem and would like to create a wireless network, so I could access Xbox Live downstairs.
Any recommendations on a router (?) and also would Xbox Live be available if the iMac wasn't turned on?
I apologise in advance for my lack of knowldge!
    Thanks in advance,
    Ben

No , you have to run ethernet cable from your modem to the router .. and then it has 4 wired access PORTS for you to plug your systems in with ethernet (or , since you want to run the 360 from downstairs , wirelessly) . You dont have Ethernet on the iMac or modem ? i thought they came with gigabyte ethernet . If you can't get to it with ethernet and need usb , you need a different model router which i'm sure someone else in here will have info on for you .
    cheers

  • Changing TimeCapsule from main WDS to create wireless network

My timecapsule is set up as main WDS unit, because I had an old Airport Express without 802.11n, so setting up WDS was the only way i could use the Airport express to extend the range of my network. I now have an airport express with 802.11.
How do i change the settings on the timecapusle to create a wireless network, instead of WDS, and then use the airport express 802.11n to extend it? Do i have to deletee the current settings? Do I change them? Do I set it up from scratch?

I would recommend that you start from scratch to set up both AirPort for the 802.11n version of WDS. The following are the basic step-by-step to do so. I would also recommend that you perform a "factory default" reset on both base stations to be sure they are in their "out-of-the-box" configuration. Note: This may not be necessary for the new AirPort Express Base Station (AXn) that you just got, but I would strongly recommend it for the Time Capsule. In addition, this reset will NOT affect anything that is already on the TC's internal or any external drives.
Dynamic WDS - Extending a Wireless Network Setup
If practical, place the base stations in near proximity to each other during the setup phase. Once done, move them to their desired locations.
Open AirPort Utility, and then, select the base station that will connect to the Internet.
Choose Manual Setup from the Base Station menu, or double-click the base station to open the configuration in a separate window. Enter the base station password if necessary.
Click AirPort in the toolbar, and then, click Wireless.
Choose “Create a wireless network” from the Wireless Mode pop-up menu, and then, select the “Allow this network to be extended” checkbox.
Next, select the base station that will extend this network, and then, choose Manual Setup from the Base Station menu, or double-click the base station to open its configuration in a separate window. Enter the base station password if necessary.
Choose “Extend a wireless network” from the Wireless Mode pop-up menu, and then, choose the network you want to extend from the Network Name pop-up menu.
Enter the base station network and base station password if necessary.
Click Update to update the base station with new network settings.

  • By creating wireless network with Airport Express, original wireless network stops functioning

I want to use the Airport Express to create a second wireless network downstairs. Upstairs I already have a wireless modem/router (Draytek 2850). The signal downstairs however is to weak. When I create the wireless network on the Airport Express, this works perfectly. However after the creation, the wireless part of the Draytek modem/router stops functioning. The wired part keeps working, but when I connect to the wireless part I access anything. Why is that?
The Express is set to Bridge modus and under TCP/IP I've selected that the IPV4 configurations has to go via DHCP.

I set the Network Name the same as the SSID, security type on the router is Mixed(WPA/WPA2)/PSK, which on the AX is WPA/WPA2 - personal I guess. The password is the same as the DrayTek.
Yes, WPA/WPA2 Personal on the AX is the same as the Draytek's wireless security option.
The radio channel of the Draytek router is 6, the channel of the AX is 11. Do I miss anything here?
No, it looks like you have all of the right settings as far as I can tell ... and you already stated that the AX is in bridge mode, i.e., Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode) ... correct?
If so, I would recommend performing a complete power recycle of your networking components, as follows:
Power-down the DrayTek, and AX. Order is not critical.
Power-up the DrayTek; wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow it to stablize.
Before powering-up the AX, verify that you can gain Internet access via a wireless connection to the DrayTek. If so, continue.
Power-up (plug-in) the AX; wait at least 5-10 minutes to allow it to stablize. It should have a steady green status light. If not, use the AirPort Utility to determine the reasons why it doesn't from the Status page of the Utility.

  • Have to create wireless network everytime I boot up?

    Hi
I have the 27" Quad core, if i create a wireless network and then switch off my iMac and use it the next day I have to recreate the network, but the odd thing is it doesnt do this every time, sometimes I turn it on and the wireless network is still there, any ideas in how to make the network permanent?

  • Ipad cannot see wireless network

Hi, I have a wireless network using several Cisco 1131AG wireless access points.  I have several Mac computers that see the wireless SSID and connect to the internet wirelessly.  However, Ipads and Iphones don't see the wireless network.  They cannot see the SSID at all.  I have tried ipad 2, iphone 4 and 5.  The network is not secured at this point.  Any help with this would be appreciated.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • DeskJet F4583 cannot see wireless network

    Hi,
I am trying to put my F4583 on the network but it cannot see the router.
I ask the utility to scan and it comes back and sees nothing (there are four or five in my neighbourhood).
I type in the exact SSID name and it still cannot find the network.  The blue wireless light just sits a blinks slowly.
    Any ideas?

Have you tried unplugging the power cable on the printer and plugging it back and they trying to search for the network?

  • HP C4700 creating wireless network

I have an HP photosmart 4700 that is approx. 4 years old. I have been using printer with a wired connection to my time capsule.  However, I just moved, and would like to have my printer in a different location from where my internet and time capsule is hooked up. I have not been able to locate my printer through the auto-locate wirless device and when using the setup assistant it also does not locate the device unless connected via USB.  While setting up with the USB, when it asks if I want to set up a wireless network, if I click yes and continue the program shuts down.  I tried resetting the wireless network on the printer with no success. When I print out the configuration page there is no IP address listed to connect that way.  Is there anything else I can do to set up a wireless connection?
My operating system is Mac OS 10.9.3.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi tuckerjm09,
    Welcome to the HP forums!
I see since moving you're unable to connect the Photosmart C4700 with your Mac running 10.9. I am sorry to hear this, but I believe I can help you get this resolved
The reason the Setup Assistant shuts down after you connect the printer is because the software you're using isn't intended for use on 10.9, which just means that you will have to take a slightly different approach.
Please have a look at this Re: Photosmart C4780 thread, as I have the steps listed that you'll need to follow there.
I hope this resolves the issue for you, please let me know how things go for you!

  • Cannot Access Wireless Network During Apple TV Set-up

I recently purchased Apple TV and was trying to set it up last night. I got as far as selecting the language. The ATV detects my home wireless network (as well as a couple of other nearby wireless networks), and allows me to select it, but I kept getting an error message stating that I could not connect and to try again later (then there was a (-6) at the end of the error message). It is not a password protected network.
I then unplugged ATV, my television, and my wireless router, waited a minute, plugged everything back in, and went through the drill again, with the same result.
I then re-started ATV using the remote and tried again. Same result.
I then ran diagnostics, which told me that ATV is running as it should be. Tried again with no luck.
I then tried the factory restore (even though I’ve yet to actually use the hardware), and got the same result.
I have a Dell Laptop, G4 iMac, and an iPod Touch that all connect to the network (from anywhere in my house) without issue.
I saw the following potential explanation/remedy, but I have no idea how to go about doing this:
Check the IP address Apple TV is using. If it starts with 169.x.x.x, then the router or base station may not be configured properly. Check to see if DHCP access is available or configure Apple TV with a manual IP address.
    Any insights (please)?

Forgive me for the next question, which will probably reveal my ineptitude when it comes to doing anything other than following the directions of a setup wizard... but does my AppleTV even have an IP Address if it can't connect to my network in the first place?
I pinged "AppleTV.local" from another PC on my wireless network and it came back empty. I don't know how to otherwise go about getting the IP address.
Also - incidentally, I was able to connect ATV to a neighbor's open network, but obviously can't stream from my iTunes library. In hindsight, I wish I hadn't tried it, because I was able to watch a few movie trailers and now I have a better idea on what I am missing out on.

  • Cannot find wireless network adapter - Satellite A100-467

    Hi,
I have Toshiba Satellite A100-467 running Windows 7 on it.
Yesterday I put my notebook to hibernation and when it woke up wireless network was not working.
I checked Device Manager and there is no wireless network adapter available, seems it is not enumerated by the system.
I have tried to download and reinstall drivers for Wireless network but without success.
    Any suggestion?

I launched windows Backup and Recovery tool to see whether some software change had not disabled wifi adapter, that is what I meant.
There is no Ethernet Controller in Device Manager, nothing pointing to Wireless adapter.
I have tried to remove battery already before but it did not help. Tried again today with the same result.
Today my Wifi was suddenly working for a while, that made me think it would be probably a hardware issue, maybe something moved inside. I just wanted to rule out software issues before I send it to repair.
Now it is where it was before, not even displaying in Device Manager.

  • Cannot connect to Internet via newly created wireless network

Just purchased an Aiport Express router this week. Connected it to an RCA DCM425 Time Warner Cable modem and it worked fine out of the box. Now, after running the Airport Utility to create a new password-protected network, I cannot connect to the Internet. Both my PowerBook G4 (running Mac OS X 10.4.10) and Windows PC (XP SP2) can connect to the new network but then cannot access the Internet. After being frustrated for a few hours with this I performed a hard reset and then could connect to the default apple network the AX was transmitting. But now I tried creating a new network again and again the same problem. No internet access despite Network Status indicating otherwise. Please help! I purchased this product b/c I thought it was supposed to be an easier setup.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
Sorry, but the 169.x.x.x IP address is internally generated by the iPod (and iPhone) and indicates that a network has been detected but no IP address has been issued. Your friends iPhone was not connected to your ad hoc network either - it connected to the internet through the 3G network.
You should read through the Vista help screens on ad hoc networking for some insight how this works. You should be able to get some ideas there.
In the mean time, $40 or less will buy you a very capable wireless router with four Ethernet ports and will simplify your network tremendously. Having used Windows ICS for a long time, the addition of a router and a real network simplified things so much.

  • ACS 5.3 cannot create default network access authorization rule

Hi, when I click 'Create...' under Access Policies > Default Network Access > Authorization, and then press the 'OK' button, it says 'Please configure at least 1 condition.' However I have no way to configure conditions as the 'Conditions' text is just bold text and not a link or any sort of configurable area. If I go to 'Customize' on the bottom right and add conditions to the right list box, I still have no options when I press Create. Also, the 'green light' next to Default Network Access is grey with a line through it. This is the most cryptic system I have ever used.. anyone have an idea? Thank you!
