Cannot crop a photo...

I tried cropping some photos(edit>crop) but then my iPad restarts by itself. I do it over and over but the same thing happens. Do you think it's because I have too many photos?(I have 882 photos) Or is it because I'm cropping a screen shot photo. HELP ASAP.

That should be enough to crop a picture and save the crop.
Try the following:
Close all Apps. Double tap your home button to bring up the Task Bar (most recently used apps). Hold your finger on any of those apps until they all start to jiggle. A will appear in the upper left hand side of each app. Touch the to close each app. Touch home button once more to return to home page.
Now reboot your iPad and see if that helps. Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for at least 10 seconds (ignore the red slider to shut down) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart.
Once your iPad comes back up. Try to crop the screen shot photo.

Using the crop tool in Lightroom 5 I can only move and crop my photos from the top. Am I doing something wrong?

I am new to Lightroom 5 and find I cannot crop my photos as easily as I did in iPhoto. I would like to be able to drag them if I choose a custom size or crop them from the bottom as well as from the top but my two sided arrow disappears when I work at the bottom of the photo. I would suggest you trash the prefs.
Quit Lightroom
Launch Finder and find the user Library by clicking the Go menu whilst holding down the Optn (alt) key (n.b. the library is hidden until you press the optn key) and inside the Library folder select the preferences folder. Then trash the following file:
com.adobe.Lightroom5.plist
Then re-launch Lightroom
It’s then worth clearing each cache. Go to the top menu bar:
Lightroom >> Preferences >> File Handling (tab)
Click the Purge Cache button under Camera Raw Cache Settings; then click the Purge Cache button under Video Cache Settings. Finally click OK.

Can't crop profile photo on Facebook app

This has happened to me too! It won't let me put up a status, put a profile picture up and its not showing any friend requests!

Cannot crop pictures for background

I cannot crop any pictures for my background or desktop on my ipads. I have an orginal, the new ipad and the ipad air. When I pinch the picture to make it fit it always pop's back to the orginal size. I have done this before, but for some reason I can seem to do it now. What am I doing wrong.

You can reduce screen motion in iOS 7. iOS 7 uses a parallax effect to create the perception of depth on your Home screen and elsewhere.
To reduce the effect, you can turn on Reduce Motion in Settings > General > Accessibility. When you turn on Reduce Motion, Home screen transitions will fade instead of zoom.
When the parallax effect is on, you may notice the following:
Wallpaper, icons, and alerts shift slightly as you move your phone.
When you set a wallpaper in Settings > Wallpapers & Brightness, the photo or image will be slightly zoomed and can't be scaled to fit the screen.
If you zoom in, you will need to rescale your wallpaper to fit to the screen. You can't rescale certain photo formats, including landscape or square images.

It should. So they aren't shown in the Last Import smart album, right? Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database, followed by Option #1 if needed.

I just upgraded my iPad from 4.3.3 to the newest - I think 6.1.3. I cannot find my photos and videos. I tried a restore, but after 3 hours, it's timing out. Pardon my ignorance on asking this question; but is there a way to find my photos?

Here are the steps I though I took this morning:
Backup iPad
Connect to iTunes and downlaod newest version of iTunes and then newest iOS
restart Vista Laptop
upgrade to newest iOS
I knew somethign was wrong when it took about 6 hours to upgrade the iPad
at the end it errored with this message error (-50), but the upgrade worked
I was expecting to see all my photos but didn't see them
I have tried a restore to a back up 2 times. The first time took 3 hours and just sort of timed out - it kept saying that there was an hour to go
I tried it again 2 hours ago and same message.
They are very valuable to me and so now I am panicking

Or, follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.

I recently upgraded to Yosemite 10.10.2 and Aperture 2.1.4 will no longer open. I cannot access my photos and I don't want to pay for latest version of Aperture since this application is no longer going to be supported. How can I get my pictures?

If you want just the originals, then you can go into the Aperture library (right click on it and do "show package contents"). Inside is a directory called "Masters" and you can find the original files in a bunch of subfolders.
But... you'll lose all adjustments, keywords, and other information, and just have the files as they were imported originally from the cameras.
Easiest is probably to buy Aperture and update everything, and then migrate to the Photos application down the road if that's what you want. Aperture 3.0 came out in 2010 (five years ago!) so it's not like you've upgraded in a while

Not all of the users in our environment have this issue. If the users having this issue, install a secondary email account, Gmail, Hotmail, etc, then they can send through those accounts. Why would the exchange account not be seen to send photos?

Sounds like it worked until the policies associated with the account that are creating the problem were fully pushed down.
Try setting up a new (test) Exhange account and see if it behaves the same way on the phone (after removing the problem account from the phone, of course).

Scan in mutiple photos in one file, can I crop multiple photos...

I don't know how to scan multiple photos as distinct file. I scan 5-6 pics it comes out at one file that I import into iPhoto. While it's very easy to crop each photo out of the file, I have to import the file as many times as there are photos
to crop.
I hope I've been clear. Is there a smarter way to work. I don't see a way to scan
the 5-6 pics as different files in my scanner software.

Vuescan is a 3rd party scanning application which can do batch scanning but is a little more difficult to set up. It works with most scanners.
If you have a Canon scanner you can scan in multiple photos at one time and have the scanner software crop, not as close as I'd like, each one individually and present to you in the editor of your choice or the one that comes with it.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Not that I'm aware of. You just export JPEG copies to a folder that you can point iTunes to. For instance, I have created a folder in my Pictures folder called Apple TV. And within that folder I have other folders of pictures that I can choose from in iTunes to share with Apple TV. But there doesn't seem to be any way to share a Lightroom slideshow. If you have laid to create a video file that would probably work. Apple TV is a little clunky in my opinion. Some things are a little more difficult to do now than they were a while back. I probably haven't provided you with much help, but just keep experimenting and I think you will figure it out.

Cannot view streamed photos in web browser

I have set up a photo stream from my iPhone and have set it up as a "Public Website" so that friends and family that do not have Apple devices can view the photos. Everything was working fine for about two months, but in the past couple of days people who are trying to access the photos from PCs using web browsers (IE, Chrome, Firefox) have not been able to view the pictures. They can still access the site but they cannot see the photos. Any advice would be appreciated.

A number of people are have trouble with this over the last few days (Photostream website not working). It seems that the problem is at Apple's end. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

i tried tinyumbrella (and another similar software) to exit recovery but it only remains on the apple logo stuck there. please is there anything else i can do? i've contacted apple and they have told me the only choice i have is to restore and lose all my data.

First I would try to hold down the power and the home button for about 15sec, but at least as long as the iPhone restarts, if it is still stuck or still in recovery mode then I can suggest you the tool "Wondershare Dr. Fone for iOS", it is both a Windows and Mac tool and I just used it today to get my iPad out of the Recovery mode.
Tell me if any of these options worked for you.
