Cannot delete folders/subfolders in iCloud

Hi,
I imported a large store of outlook email messages into iCloud mail - including many folders and subfolders some time ago. I would now like to delete the lot of them.
Deleting a single message or folder works fine. However, when I try to delete a folder with subfolders, even though I reply to the 'are you sure' message by clicking "yes," the folder and subfolders initially disappear yet, immediately upon refresh, all folders and subfolders reappear and I find that the instruction has been completely ignored.

Despite what the menu item says, you CANNOT delete subfolders along with folders. I called the Mac help desk and they confirmed this.
Just for your information, I managed to get around the problem by doing all the deletions on Outlook on a PC - where it does allow you to delete subfolders.

IOS5~ cannot delete MobileMe acct after iCloud

Since signing up for iCloud after installing iOS5, and not using the same e-mail acct with iCloud, I find that I cannot delete the MobileMe acct under 'Settings=>E-mail/...' (which happens to be an @me address). What happens after I click on the acct is that Settings simply closes altogether before I have a chance to scroll to the bottom for clicking on 'Delete'. Does anyone know what I doing wrong? ... Please advise ...

As I responded to your other post here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/24764773#24764773, If the old ID is yours, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use yourcurrent password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
You won't be able to do this with the entirely new ID you just created. You must do this with the ID that was formerly associated with your old email address.

Cannot Delete Folders from USB drive connected to Airport Extreme

When I try to delete files from the usb drive connected to my airport I get "cannot remove folder, the directory is not empty.
This only happens for some of the folders that are empty. No problem deleting any files whether they were created before or after I setup the airport. The folders that won't delete were created after I hooked up the drive to the airport however, I can make new folders and delete them no problem now. The ones that don't delete say "read only" in the properties. when I uncheck read only it reverts back to read only automatically.
Any ideas what might be causing this?

Tried what you suggested last night - no change. What is odd, though, is that I can create a new folder on the external USB HDD (through the Hub) and copy a file into it. While I can then close Finder, re-open and see the Folder and file I copied, I still can't see all the data that is currently stored on the drive...Is this a delete and re-copy scenario?

Cannot delete folders

I have been trying to delete a folder (it's empty and no longer wanted) and get the message "We hit a technical glitch - Please try reloading the page in a few minutes".
This has been going on for weeks!
I have tried both logging in with both Chrome and Firefox but the result is the same.
The error message has a link at the bottom that says ">I still cannot access my mail" followed by a long space then "error 14".

I had already tried deleting the folder in Outlook. I had no trouble doing that, but it reappeared almost immediately. I also tried the process outlined in your link but that made no difference. (I decided against trying another mail client - I pay for Outlook and use it to manage 7 email addresses. (It works fine for the 5 that aren't @btinternet.com and mostly fine for them, too).
However, since I very rarely use webmail access (why would I with multiple email addresses to check daily?) it occured to me that what I really wnated was for the folder to not show up in Outlook. So I unsubscribed i and Hey Presto! it's gone. (Actually, Outlook took exception to my doing that and crashed - I had to delete that IMAP account and then add it back to get it working properly again).

Cannot delete folders from favorites library, script error

I did follow the instructions and deleted places.sqlite and the other 2 files suggested.
That "fixed" the problem, kind of. You see, I had imported bookmarks from Chrome and that seems to be what caused the problem. After I deleted the files and reopened FF, then the Chrome import was gone. And I was able to delete or copy paste in bookmarks manager.
The problem is that I had exported FF bookmarks to Chrome and was going to use it as primary. Then when that wasn't working out, I was going to import Chrome bookmarks, as that's where i've been saving to. Now, my newest bookmarks in in Chrome, but importing seems to mess up FF. This is what I need to work around, somehow. Or else stick with Chrome as primary.
Any suggestions?

Cannot delete folders in iTunes when trying to re-arrange apps into folders

When you remove the next to the last app from a folder, the folder should disappear. It does not. The app remains there. If you remove the last app, the empty folder remains. I am using iTunes 9.2f1 (45). I just updated my mac mini to the latest fixes for Mac OSX. (10.6.4). I use a logitech bluetooth mouse.
I can drag the empty folder to an empty page, but it then crashes iTunes.

I tries setting the card to 'none' on iTunes on my PC earlier and it didn't fix it.
I'll be back in front of my PC tomorrow so will try re-adding as you suggest.
Do you think this will fix the issue in iTunes App and App Store App where I can't view my account? (keeps asking for password over and over).

Can't delete folders in Library mode

I cannot delete folders. I have selected a folder in Library mode but I can find not way to delete it. It seems that I can remove it from the catalog but not delete the folder and the files. Is there a way delete a folder and all the files contained in it?

Yes, but you have to delete images in the folder first. You can delete files within Lr. When the folder is empty Lr will allow deletion of the folder.
I have no idea why Lr requires you do it this way. I suppose it is a safety feature. Mass deletes of folders and their contents could be dangerous.

Delete folders that contain topics?

Is it possible to delete folders that contain topics? I have been trying to do this with Project Manager but the delete option is dimmed.
I can delete folders that do not contain topics. The project is on a network. The Clear Project Cache (cpd) option is selected. I also cannot delete folders with topics from a sample project.

Never mind.
I have discovered that I can delete multiple the topics in the Topic List to empty the folder, then delete the folder in Project Manager.
I'm a new-ish user and still have a lot to learn :-)

Hi evereyone,
I lately realized a strange behaviour of my iCloud mail account.
No matter where I try to rename or delete a folder (icloud.com, iPhone, iPod touch,2 iPads) I get an error message that it is not possible to do so.
If I try to delete a mail (yes, I chose the server's Trash folder in every device's advanced settings) it remains in the inbox,
but also shows up in th trash. So if I delete the same mail 5 times it's still there but there are also 5 copies in the trash.
My mail client of choice is "eM Client" because it can handle icloud mail, contacts and calendar.
Strange enough, I can delete mails in the client. So the IMAP inboxes of the client and my iDevices are not in sync.
But I also cannot delete or rename folders in the client.
No problems with my wife's own iCloud account.
I am using Windows 7 and Firefox. Same problem on Safari.
Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?

Within this commonfiles\apple folder, there is only one folder, labeled "Internet Services." Within this folder, there are 6 folders, labeled:
APLZOD.resources
BookmarkDAV_client.resources
CoreDAV.resources
iCloud.resources
iCloudServices.resources
ShellStreams.resources
Within all but CoreDAV and BookmarkDAV_client, there are multiple different folders, all labeled starting with a two letter (acronym I believe, for different languages) then .lproj (for example, a folder is labeled "ar.lproj".
In each of the folders of APLZOD.resources, there is a file labeled "APLZODlocalized.dll."
In all of the folders containing the multiple .lproj folders, there are likewise "name"localized.dll files contained.
In the BookmarkDAV_client and Core DAV folders, they each contain only one file, "Info.plist"
I attempted to delete all of these files, and still, the FileAssassin could not delete them. I unlocked one of them for instance, and I tried to delete the file myself (thru windows explorer and just clicking delete), and I still had the same issue of coming eventually to the window requesting me to "try again" to have permission.
What can I do?? I'd like to avoid Unlocker, but if it really is a reliable and SAFE program, and someone knows a SAFE place to download it from, I'd appreciate it very much so!!

Backup to computer first and sync Apps to iTunes first!
Restore in recovery mode will work, be persistent and retry
Recovery restore challenges
- computer didn't detect recovery iphone, attempted and failed 3 times
rebooted computer then recovery restore worked
- recovery restore was successful, unlocked, and iMessage/Facetime, Find My Iphone, ALL WORKS!
Restore from backup challenges
* Make sure you have plenty of harddrive space!
- have to restore first then restore from backup, i did this incorrectly by restoring from backup and the find my iphone feature got stuck forcing me to recovery restore
- each restore from backup attempt will copy the original backup and create another backup folder. My original was about 10gb, so it copied another 10gb onto my computer's harddrive
- when i restore from backup, my computer ran out of space and errored out/failed.
- I tried again to restore from backup then figured out where the backup data folder was and tried to transfer to external harddrive but not quick enough and failed again.
- finally cleared the extra backup data files and restore from backup was successfull
Missing apps from restore from backup
- Downloaded all my missing Apps from APP store
- I have 300+ apps and there are only 15 screen scrolls, have to organize before apps will populate and load, very difficult to organize now. Wished I had sync Apps first.
Conclusion
This process took me literally 20+ hours to correct and will probably take me few more hours to organize the apps into their respective folders...
At least I got everything to work. Hope this helps!

How do I delete and create a new iCloud account on my iPhone, when I cannot delete the old account off my phone!

I have given my 4s to my wife, she has an iCloud account which uses her work address, she has now left the company and we want to start a new iCloud account, trouble is we cannot delete the old account, we have created a new iCloud account but the iPhone won't let us log into it as it only recognises the old version, we can't access her email anymore to reset the account. Have tried all online help. We restored the phone through iTunes

Cannot Delete file iCloud

I am having an issue with the New Late 2012 iMac and syncing numbers documents in the cloud.
1) I cannot sync a native document from the new iMac to the cloud via the Numbers Program. I can drag the document into the browser and update it that way
2) After doing this as a work around the document devlopes an error message making it unable to drag and drop 3 times seems to be the max allowed with this method
Spent an hour on the phone with Apple to no avail, I have tried
1) Deleteing icloud off all my devices Mini, Iphone, Ipad macbook air and iMac.
2) Yes I have made sure Docs in the cloud is turned on on all devices and the right icloud account is signed in
3) rebooted everything a few times
4) created another profile on the IMac which is able to update via the Native Numbers program and not the Browser as I was doing on profile 1.
The problem seems to be this file which is gray'd out and I cannot delete it off any device, the date that this started happening is the creation date of this document, so process of elimination I want to delete this document to see if this is corrupting profile 1 and disabling my ability to upload files via the native Numbers program.
Anyone have a document that is in the constant update state on icloud that cannot delete it with a new Mac? Its a very frustrating problem because I use the mac as the mother ship to handle presentations and spread sheets and its not pushing out what I do on it and its brand new..Considering doing a time machine restore on the new profile to see if that works..Anyone have some more thoughts, I have tried all the simple fixes thanks to Apple and a very nice female voice named Kerry.

This deeper than that. I created another account on the same iMac and it works in Harmony with my other devices and Documents in the cloud. I can only imagine the icloud account is somehow corrupted (I am on my macbook not iMac at the moment). There have been no updates to the Calendar, Contacts or Documents since early January on that account. I have spent 1hr on the phone with support and they were baffled as well. Only thing I can gove as insight to the problem is this, I was on the Mac Mini which was backed up on Time Machine. about 4 or 5 months ago I had to completley restore the Mac Mini becasue of the never ending circle on the load screen. The Backup failed to work it kept loading the issue and 4 or 5 times the circle of death kept coming up I would subsequently wipe the Mini and go further back in the back up until I go a copy that worked. I then loaded the Time Mache back up into my NEW iMac and wnet from there. It took about a month for this problem I am detailing above to start happening. It maybe a corrupt file loaded from the backup into the new iMac causing this problem. Best answer I can think of on my own???
