Cannot delete iphoto synced photos

Hi people,
Somehow Iphoto has synced more than 2 gigabyte worth of photos from my macbook to my iphone 3gs and there is apparently no way for me to delete them from my phone.
If i try to delete the photos i've taken with my iphone (those located in camera roll) i've only got to press the little bin. But if i try to use the same method on the iphoto imported photos (located in 3 different folders like camera roll) there is no bin.
Anybody else got this problem or got some answer?

Thanks for the answer
But I've been looking for something like a photo tap in itunes but can't seem to find it. The top taps when selecting iphone in itunes are (my itunes is in danish, so i'm not sure what the taps are called in english mind) "overview, info, applications, ring tones, music, film, tv shows, podcasts and itunes-u.
Do you know where to find that photos tap?

  • Cannot remove Aperture synced Photos on iOS 8

    Hey,
I had roughly 26k Aperture images synced to my iPhone 5 when I upgraded to iOS 8. Since the upgrade, all of my Events have been placed into a random order (which is extremely frustrating), the Photos app has become unusably slow and I cannot 'remove' the synced photos via iTunes anymore.
Even though I have unticked the Aperture sync option in iTunes, the photos simply won't delete from the iPhone. It looks like I might have to wipe my phone clean and start again.
On top of that, all of the Photos seem to have been merged with my Camera Roll pictures and iCloud backup attempts to backup all 26k images.
Anyone else having similar issues with iOS 8 and synced Aperture/iPhoto libraries?
    Thanks,
    Darren

Although I have not synced either Aperture or iPhoto images to my phone through iTunes, maybe there is a parallel with syncing images through iTunes from a folder. In that situation, I understand that you actually have to sync an empty folder to the phone if you want to remove the previously synced photos. Might it be similar with Aperture/iPhoto?

If you can't copy your purchases by right clicking on it in the device list and choosing "transfer purchases", download the apps again for free: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

  • Iphone 4 pictures moved to ipad via icloud Cannot delete picture in Photo Stream on Ipad

I have an iphone 4 which connects to icloud,  I take pictures with the iphone,  the icloud syncs the picture to my ipad in the Photo Stream tab on the ipad.  I cannot delete picutres on the ipad photo stream tab. or my iphone (using photos) I don't know why the pictures I cannot delete. What can I do ?

You have to delete the photos using a Mac or PC at the iCloud.com website.  It is a two step process.
    1. Go to iCloud.com. Click on your Name (upper right), then Advanced, then Reset Photo Stream.
    2. Go to your iPad/Settings/iCloud.  Turn off PhotoStream.  This will delete the photos on your iPad.
It is all or none.  You can't selectively delete phots from your PhotoStream.

  • IPhoto synced photos display in iOS sorted by date imported

This is precisly what's happening to me, and it definately changed with either the last iTunes update or the last iPhoto update.  I can't be sure.  I'd be willing to bet it's iTunes, since the photos display in iPhoto (date taken ascending) just fine.
I can confirm there's an issue with one of those programs, NOT with iOS 6 specifically. iTunes and iPhoto are up to date as of this post, having updated both within the last week or so as updates were available. All photos are grouped into Events within iPhoto.
    1. I removed photo synching from all iOS devices, and deleted the iPod photo cache.
    2. In iPhoto, I reset manual sorting, switched from date descending to date ascending (what I want). Everything in iPhoto displays correctly.
Those two steps have fixed sorting issues in the past.
    3. Sync photos to iPhone with iOS 6.0.1
    4. All photos are correctly ordered, with the exeption of the photos imported SINCE the last iPhoto (or iTunes) update.  THESE, and only these photos are sorted by import date, NOT date taken, so they are appended to the very end of the event.
    5. I repeated the process with an iPhone still on iOS 5.1.1 - same result.
So, this issue is sync related, not iOS related.  Again, I can't be sure if it's an iPhoto or iTunes thing, but a recent update of one of those (or both?) has messed this up. Anyone else seeing this?

Sound like an iTunes  or iPhone issue.  Post your question in those forums.

  • I cannot delete pages from photo book.

I am finished creating my photo book but cannot delete extra pages.  It is currently 33 pages (including cover) and I only need 29.  I've tried the Delete key and the "Remove Page" option.  I've also tried deleting the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file and restarting iPhoto.  Nothing works.  Any suggestions?

Covers do not count and you must have an even number of pages (sheets of paper have 2 sides)
The minimum for a book is 10 sheets of paper or 20 pages plus covers
How many pages do you have?

  • I can't delete my synced photos!

I accidentally synced my computer photos to my phone and when I tried to delete them, while following apple care instructions, I got stuck when I wasn't able to press the selected folders button on my apple laptop while on iTunes, Please help

    Hey crbu,
I think I speak for everyone when I say that we ALL have a love/hate relationship with our computers. lol!
For your iTunes, is it the most recent version or the one before that, or earlier?
Also, I tried adding a screen shot to help a bit but there is a reflection of the love/hate relationship happening from my computer to me.
Under the Photos tab, where it gives you the option for:
Sync Photos From (should be like the first thing you see on that screen; left hand side)
is there a drop down menu there that gives you the option of Pictures or Choose folder?
If not, this could potentially be the problem and you may have to uninstall and reinstall iTunes (I may be wrong with that doing that but honestly, that's what I would do), and see if that changes anything. If not, then you may need to contact Apple on this one, just cause it should give you the option to at least choose syncing either pictures or from a specific folder.
I hope that helps in some way.
If not, and you are able to find another way, make sure to update us here so we know what to do when that happens to us (cause odds are it will; lol).
    Good luck!

  • Delete the sync photos from Iphone 4S

I have sync photos from blackberry to iphone 4S with IOS6 but now I want to remove the photos sync from wats up application. I'm not getting any option in phone or itune plz suggest the way to delete the photos in such case

If you synced them via whats app then you will need to delete them using that app.
Certainly there is a support site for that app.

  • Photo.app crashes. Can not delete or sync photos. Stuck!

On my iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.1:
Photo.app crashes whenever i try to delete certain photos from my camera roll. It freezes and I have to exit the app with the front botton. I have the crash logs on my computer.
The iPhone appears in iTunes, however photos do not sync.
The iPhone does NOT appear in Image Capture, iPhoto, or other photo importing programs.
Now I am really stuck - ! I have no way to delete the (presumably corrupted) photos from my iPhone!
If I "Erase all content and settings" from the iPhone, it once again appears (empty) in Image Capture. However, if I then restore the iPhone from a backup, the photo roll is restored and it has the same problem. If I do not restore the iPhone, I lose all my apps, contact info, etc.
I am an Apple developer (MacOS, iOS) so I have expert skills tackling problems like this, but now I'm stumped!

I had the same problem and spent 4 hours troubleshooting with Apple Tech Support. We uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, drivers and checked every setting that had anything to do with my iPhone. As usual I was told that I need to restore my phone which is always my last option. I actually read your post and began to panic as it became clear that even after a reset I would get the same photos back when I synched and restored. Last time that I restored to new it took me 3 solid hours to tweak my phone back to the way it was. When I realized that I was basically screwed and was going to lose my photos I began to email them to myself one at a time. When I got to one picture I discovered that I had found the corrupt photo. I was not able to send it as it turned into a question mark when I tried to send to myself. I tried to delete 50 times but it froze my phone each time and wouldnt remove itself from my camera roll. I tried to select photos but each time that photo appeared in the window the app crashed and shut itself down. I had scheduled an appointment with the genious bar and figured I would call tech suoport one last time before I went through that nightmare and while I was on hold I pluged my phone into my computere and tried to delete the phote while plugged into my laptop and out of nowhere an error window popped up notifying me that my photo app experienced an error and would repair itself which within four seconds it did and the corrupt photo dissapeared. I cant tell you how relieived I was and my phone works perfectly well now. I tried to explain the results to the tech that finally answered but he didn't seem to care that much. I hope this works for you next time.

  • Deleting and Syncing Photos on iPhone doesn't work or is stuck

I have around 3000 photos on my iPhone (all albums from Apterture synched via iTunes). I intend to delete all of them. It does not work if I choose to uncheck the synch photos feature in iTunes and also if I check it but have no albums/projects selected.
Instead the last step of the iTunes sync (importing photos) runs forever, even through a whole night. And I still have my photo albums which should not be on the iPhone an more.
Any idea or help? Thank you.

Check the settings of the side switch:
Settings>General. Be sure that the side switch is set to screen lock rather than mute.

  • Have ipad mini..i  photos app..cannot delete either 1 photo or several....thanks

    message above

How did the photos get onto your iPad ? If they were synced from your computer then they can't be deleted directly in the Photos app - you will need to reconnect the iPad to your computer's and de-select the folders/albums that you no longer want on your iPad (or if you just want to remove individual photos then remove them from their folders on your computer)  and resync.

  • Deletion of synced photos.

Hey guys, I just synced about 200 photos to my iPhone. Upon looking at them, I noticed that there are about 45 doubles, which of course I want off to save space. I noticed in the Photos section of my iPhone, you can delete pics taken with the camera with a simple tap of the trash icon, but how do I get rid of photos that I have synced that appear in the "Photo Library" tab?
This is definitely going to be a problem, especially if I had synced the 2,000 photos on my computer and decided I wanted to take them off tomorrow or something. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Also, on an unrelated note, I was just wondering if it is normal for iTunes to show the ringtone/bell column in my music library, along with the indication that the songs can be made into ringtones, even after I have disconnected my iPhone?

You need to adjust the photo synchronization options on the computer associated with that iPhone so that those photos aren't synced to the iPhone, and then sync the iPhone.

  • Synced photo album in ipad cannot be deleted

Few days ago, I synced a photo ablum into ipad.
When I want to delete the synced photo album today, I didn't find any albums in itunes.
However, I found I hv deleted the ipod photo cache folder that ican't delete the photo album.
So, is there any other ways to delete?
    Thx very much.

Backing up with iCloud would not backup synced photos anyway. iCloud only works photos that you take with the iPad.
There are third party WiFi apps that will allow you to transfer the photos back to the Mac. You download the app to both devices and then you can send photos and videos to and from each device.
I use this one. There are others available in the App Store.

  • Cannot delete photos taken with ios7; iphone5 ios 8.2

I cannot delete any old photos taken using the old ios 7.
I have tried, connecting to itunes, no option to delete photos there, moving photos from folders to desktop computer, moving photos to a new folder and then deleting them.  I am able to delete new photos taken since the install of 8.2, any old photos have a grayed out trash can. I refuse to use the cloud.

I have tried, connecting to itunes, no option to delete photos there,
You delete in iTunes by syncing with all albums, events, etc. deselected.  See this link:  iTunes: Syncing photos http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
Synced photos can only be deleted by syncing again.
