Cannot delete music downloaded with iTunes match

I have a lot of music loaded onto my iPad Air reform on iCloud. Some is purchased from iTunes, some is personal music uploaded from my home computer. I have 2 albums that I do not want on my iPad but I cannot delete the songs from it. Most songs allow me to swipe left and delete them, but the songs on these albums have no effect when I swipe left.
Any ideas what seems to be locking these onto my iPad?

On the iPad go to Settings > General > Usage and tap Music (you may need to scroll down in the list). Swipe across "all music" and tap DELETE.

Very slow music download with iTunes match on iOS devices

For some time now I experience very slow performance downloading music with iTunes match on my iOS devices.
Downloading music takes ages now. Not so long ago download music with iTunes match was as fast as buying music from the iTunes Store.
I tried to restore my iPhone but nothing changed.
The download itself is quite fast but after that the blue progress bar is full and the statut is "en cours" (french) something like busy/ongoing in english . The other tracks have a status wating;
Any idea how to solve the issue?

Same here. It seems to be better when the device has been set up from scratch. A delete and restore does not the trick. So I learned to live with it

Deleting music downloaded from iTunes Match

I have a first-gen iPad and its synced with my Windows 7 computer. I use iTunes Match on the desktop, a Win7 laptop, and the iPad. I downloaded some music onto the iPad, and now its taking up about 2.5 Gb of space that I could use for other things.
I found a link to a walkthru here, but its for an older version of iTunes. I tried doing it anyway, but as the instructions said, connect the iPad, open iTunes, and click on the iPad icon, then on the Summary and check "Manually Manage music and videos." Well that's not an option, all it says is Manually manage Videos. No mention of songs anywhere, not even in the other tabs as far as I can tell.

I've had a case opened up for at least a month, now.
I re-tried my Jay-Z album and it's still borked.

I updated my iphone 4 with iO6.1. I now no longer have any of my music available with iTunes match. I've turned iTunes match on and off on my phone and on and off on my computer. I am not restoring my phone to factory settings.

Coincidentally, two of my playlists were deleted from itunes. So I spent quite a bit of time recreating them only to find them missing again today. The ONLY way for me to get music on my phone is to click on the ...more tab and go to shared and pull music from my actual desktop. Restoring my iphone is not an option. Take the following steps:
1) while connected to wifi, toggle off then back on the Show All Music and iTunes Match options shown in my original post. Important: I did this step before, but wasn't connected to wifi, and my music disappeared. Subsequently, I connected to wifi and turned off and then back on those options and everything came back though it was grayed out and my only option was to download music.
2) To get streaming over cellular back, go into Settings>General>Cellular and scroll down to the "Use Cellular Data for:" options and make sure the iTunes option is set to 'On'
The above steps will bring back the streaming capability which seemed to go away when you update to 6.1. It didn't ACTUALLY go away, but something about the update toggled off the iTunes option in step 2 above.
I did a final test by turning off wifi, opening Music app and selecting a song. It played successfully without downloading! Crossing my fingers, but I think I'm good to go!

IOS6 using music app with itunes match

my itunes match account contains more than 80.000 songs, approx. 2.800 albums - iOS6 the music app starts now each time to sync itunes match. This takes now more than 30 minutes untill the album list is on screen.

Now, after deleting and replacing a whole slew of my music with the wrong songs, have the stuff won't play or download from match, even stuff I buy in iTunes. It's ridiculous. Apple should be paying me to be losing my media by using match. It's driving me CRAZY!

Why do lists flicker and jump in iOS Music app with iTunes match?

I recently signed up for iTunes match. I have a large library on iTunes on my Mac and I'm using iTunes Match to sync it to my iPhone 4S running iOS 7.
However now every list in the iOS Music app now constantly flickers and flashes. The album artwork flashes blank for a moment and then returns. It's as if the list is constanly updating. This happens about every 2 seconds.
Even worse... in playlists the entire list jiggles up and down. Again about every 2 seconds.
Does anyone else have the same problem? Is there a solution?

Is there a way for your backup to remember what songs you have downloaded with itunes match

i use itunes match, but i download the songs to my device as i have spotty service where i work and live.
i am upgrading to a larger size iphone and dont want to have to search through itunes match again and select all the songs i want to download again once i get the new phone. is there a way that itunes match will "remember" what song i have downloaded to my device and "re-download" them to the new device?
maybe via a playlist then just download the playlist? this seems like a lenghty way of doing it though.
anyhelp, tips or advice would be greatly appreciate. thanks

No.

You can download individual tracks and delete music with itunes match on

You can delete music with itunes match on:
settings - general - use - music - all music
in the right corner above you can click on edit and choose delete.
You can also download individual tracks:
click on the "cloud download" icon in an album. It displays the icons to start downloading. You can tap on stop of the songs you don't want to download and then those songs won't be downloaded.

unfortunately the delete method deletes all the music you downloaded, not possible to delete individual tracks

Lastly since upgrading to iOS 7.0.1 (and beyond) Genuis has become effectively useless: it continually asks me to connect to wi-fi, and if I do it creates playlists mostly composed of tracks by the same artists or those very obviously linked to them- previously it created brilliant, nuanced playlists.
Are these things connected, and how do I fix them?

I have done this on numerous occasions but I think that my Iphone has a defect. After many tries, reinstalls, deletion of content, changing content to be stored on external hard drive, deleting itunes and cleaning computer I managed to get all of the songs on and things seemed okay for a while.
The problem returned about a week ago after downloading a new album from Itunes. I now have 12.5k of songs leaving 10gb spare on Iphone which should be more than enough room to operate properly. Last night it seemed to be dowloading ok (after doing all of the above again for the umpteenth time) this morning it revealed that it had just synched 2.5k of songs and 18gb of "other" on the contents bar. it wont synch now as it says its over capacity. So the 18gb of "other" would probably be corrupted data that means it must corrupt each song as it tries to synch it.
The 2.5k of songs it did synch are working on the Iphone as is every song in the library on Itunes. I did completely delete the new album I bought and redownloaded it from the store then tried to synch just that album and it worked fine.
Just about time to dump apple I think!

You have old computers authorized that you are no longer using more than likely.

To authorize or deauthorize a single computer, choose Authorize This Computer or Deauthorize This Computer from the Store menu. If all five authorizations are being used, you can deauthorize all your computers at one time by choosing View My Account from the Store menu and selecting Deauthorize All.
You can then restart the authorization process with each current device.

Problem downloading music with itunes match

I have a problem downloading music with iTunes Match. Specifically i have two discs that can't be downloaded and i'm no able to find a solution.
Does anyone have the same problem?

Can you give more details? Are the tracks in your iTunes library. What is the source of the music? What is the iCloud status of the tracks.

I have subscribed to iTunes Match and have employed it to listen to music on my Macbook Air and iMac. On these devices it seems to operate by streaming music to the device rather than deleting the device's current iTunes library and downloading songs as they are played from iTunes Match. Not so on the iPhone as far as I can tell. Consequently, to date I have not activated iTunes Match on my iPhone 4S. I presently have 40-50GB's of music on my iPhone, sync'd from my iTunes music library on my Macbook Air. I am concerned that if I enable iTunes Match on my iPhone I will lose the music library already on my iPhone, as Apple seems to be representing that once iTunes Match is enabled on the iPhone the current music library, carefully compiled, will be gone from the iPhone forever (unless I later re-sync it from the iTunes library on my laptop), that it will be deleted. Although this would free up a lot of space on my iPhone, I bought the 64GB phone just so that I could keep a lot of music on it and accessible at all times. I am concerned that in certain instances, say if I am in the subway and want to listen to music on my iPhone but don't have internet access below ground, that I won't have much music to listen to, only those songs previously played and thus downloaded onto the phone from iMatch, presenting me witrh a rather limited choice of music to play instead of the 40-50GB's I now have to choose from. Apple seems to have presented me with the choice of the lesser of 2 evils: i) enable iTunes Match and lose the music library already on the iPhone in exchange for access to iTunes Match and a greater number of songs than I can fit onto the phone (my library exceeds the phone's capacity) when a Cloud connection is available or ii) don't enable iTunes match and limit myself to only those songs, a considerable portion of my library to be sure but not all of it, that I can fit in the phone's storage space, i.e., the 40-50 GB's I have on there now. If I choose the latter course, each time I purchase an album I'll have to delete another album to make room for it on the phone. Apple thus offers me a sort of Hobson's choice, bad all the way around. Do I have this right? The Apple techs I've spoken to don't seem to have a handle on the "deletion" aspect of enabling iTunes Match on the iPhone. Right now, I'm too scared of "losing" my iPhone music library to enable iTunes Match on the iPhone. [Possible work-around, albeit a pain in the ***: I suppose that I can enable iTunes Match on the iPhone and spend the next couple of weeks 24/7 downloading songs from my iTunes Match library back onto the phone to replace at least some of those deleted when Match was enabled, thereby rebuilding a proxy library on the phone itself to play when I'm stuck in a tunnel between Brooklyn and Manhattan while maintaining access to thee larger iTunes Match library, more music than my phone will hold, once we come back into the light and my Cloud connection is restored.] Comments, suggestions will be appreciated. It can occur if you try to run Music app on the go with bad 3G connectivity so some data is corrupted or configured incorrectly. I had this twice, but found this "easy" fix without a need of PC/Mac computer & iTunes.

Step by step on the iPad:
- delete all music on your device:

- give it a while till it shows "no music" info and only shop button. It needs to reload all settings and clear all data. Wait till no loading circle.

You need to buy and install a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD; once it's installed, run the Software Update pane of System Preferences twice.
There is no other way to sync it, but content can be downloaded directly from the iTunes Store servers; for non-purchased music, this requires signing up for iTunes Match, which costs more than the DVD.
