Cannot delete music off my phone that came from iCloud

I upgraded my phone and all of a sudden a bunch of music appears on my phone that was not there before and is NOT in my iTunes.  Turns out that the music was purchased eons ago, somehow disappeared from my iTunes and then showed up on my phone because of the option in Settings to Show All Music.
So, I downloaded the music from the iCloud to the phone thinking I could then sync the phone with iTunes and the music would appear.  No such luck.  Tried adding the music to the one playlist on the phone but it would not do it.
I then figured out how to download purchased music to iTunes that had disappeared from iTunes.  So now I have all of my music in iTunes.  However, I cannot get these iCloud songs off my phone.
I changed my sync options in iiTunes to sync no music to the phone.  After the sync, these few songs are still there.
I then created a playlist in iTunes that only included these stubborn songs.  I included only this playlist in my sync and synced.  I then unckecked this playlist so there was again no music on the phone and synced again.  These songs will not go away.
What do I do?

Figured it out.

  • Can someone tell me how to delete photos off my iPad that came from my iPhone?

I can't delete photos on my iPad that came through iCloud from my iPhone. Can someone please help?

    From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4486 :
How do I delete photos from my Photo Stream in iCloud?
Individual photos cannot be deleted from your Photo Stream. You can, however, delete all the photos in your Photo Stream by clicking the Reset Photo Stream button in your account at icloud.com. The Reset Photo Stream button will instantly delete all Photo Stream photos stored in iCloud, but it will not remove any Photo Stream photos that have already been pushed to your devices.
How do I delete photos from my Photo Stream on my devices?
After deleting the photos from your Photo Stream in iCloud, you can remove the Photo Stream photos from your devices as follows:
On your iOS devices, go to Settings > iCloud > Photo Stream and turn Photo Stream off. This will delete all the photos from your Photo Stream album. If there are any photos you want to keep on your device, make sure to add them to an album or save them to your Camera Roll first.

  • How do I make it so that the one computer that has the main itunes account on it be used on other computers, when it comes to backing up phones and not deleting data off of phone that isnt on that computer itunes becasse its all on the one main computer

how do I make it so that the one computer that has the main itunes account on it be used on other computers, when it comes to backing up phones and not deleting data off of phone that isnt on that computer itunes becasse its all on the one main computer. Baiscally the problem is that one comuter and one account has always been sued for eey persons itunes. Now if we want to be able to backup and use itunes on our own computers fro our iphones and such, how will all he data that is on our phones not be deleted once its plugged into a new computer? Also, is theere a way to get all the stuff on thw current itunes onto each computer, via differtn account name?

option discovered in preferences. Really this and any feature that moves deletes or edits a users data should as far as possible be OFF BY DEFAULT. It shouldn't by default and without the users specific say do this dangerous and unnecessary thing without even letting the user know what it's doing!!! And then cause me a few hours (as i'm new to mac) searching for the option so as to switch it off. If i hadn't noticed the status cage declaring that it was copying files then i might never have twigged that this insane thing was occurring. And if i hadn't of noticed i would have been left maintaining the contents of the folder i copied the files to, the folder which as far as i was informed and so believed was also the location of the music files i was playing. How does Apple justify this 'genius' piece of software non-design? Surely it will hurt no one if this was off by default for new users - overall at least i dare say it would cause a lot less distress in the future for the unsuspecting public at large. Thanks for the support.

  • How do I delete photo albums from my phone that came from my computer? I have a 5S

How do I erase photo albums on my phone that came from my computer

Connect the iPhone to the computer with iTunes running, select the iPhone in the device pane, select the Photo tab in iTunes, deselect the checkmark for the photos that you want to remove and perform a sync.
Photos that have been synced from the computer can only be removed by the sync process.

  • Downloaded itunes 10.5 and now I can't delete music off Nano (5th w/ camera).

I just updated my iTunes last night and this morning I was trying to remove music of my iPod -- and It would not let me delete the music off of it. The only option I get is once i plug in the ipod -- It will allow me the option to delete all the music and sync my libary to the ipod, which is not what I want to do. I've asked friends and they are having the same issue.
What do I need to do to fix this issue?

Please describe in detail all you have attempted to do in order to resolve the issue.  Have you tried resetting your iPod Nano?

  • I deleted music off my iTunes that I don't want - Now how do I sync it up with my iTunes and delete them off of the iPod too?

I deleted random bands and certain songs that I no longer wish to have on my iTunes or my iPod. So, they're all off of my iTunes, but still on my iPod. How do I delete only the items on my iPod that are no longer on my iTunes? Is there a way to sync them so ONLY what is on my iTunes appears on my iPod?

If you are synching all music that you have in iTunes on your computer then, when you next sync, any music not in iTunes but on the iPod should be removed.

Hi i'm trying to figuer out how to delete music off my phone and off my icould account.
so i type all that in the search engine .. and all i can find is that i need to turn iMatch on in my iTunes account ..
so when i hit the iMatch button .. it ask me to subcribe to iMatch and subcribing cost 25 bucks .. Really?
do i really really have to pay 25 bucks a month  to be able to delete stuff off my phone ;o/
i'm sure i'm totally doing some thing wrong.. any help would be awesome.

iTunes Match is an annual fee, not monthly : http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/
You can hide purchased music from the Purchased links and cloud via your computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
If you want to delete music from your phone (assuming that they are downloaded and not only in the cloud) then you can delete individual tracks directly on it by swiping/dragging across a track's name from right-to-left on the Songs screen - that should reveal a Delete button to its right. If the tracks are only in the cloud (i.e. they have a cloud icon next to them in the Music app) then you can turn that off  via Settings > iTunes & App Store > Music (under the 'show all' heading) 'off'
If you want to delete a number of tracks and/or albums/artists then connect the phone to your computer, and if you have the left-hand sidebar enabled on your computer's iTunes (you can enable the sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC) select Music underneath the phone 'device'
And use the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select and delete the tracks. Or if you are automatically syncing music change your music sync options via its Music tab

  • Deleting music off iphone

Can I delete music off my phone from itunes but still have it stored somewhere on itunes or the cloud so I can access it again?  I need to get it off my phone for space but still want it longterm on intunes somewhere so I can access it again and re-download it to my phone at another time.  Can this be done?

    Hi mjtacey13,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
If the music on your iPhone was purchased from the iTunes Store, you can redownload it at any time.
If the music is from your iTunes library, you can change your preferences in iTunes to sync only the songs you want manually.
It's always a good idea to first back up your iPhone before making an major changes:

    Hope this helps ...

  • Just downloaded ios7 and my phone wont let me delete music off of it

my phone isnt letting me delete music off of it

    Hey jan131,
Thanks for the question. With iOS 7, you can delete a song by doing the following:
Remove a song from iPhone. Tap Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete. The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.
via page 62 of the iPhone User Guide for iOS 7
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
Please note that if you have "Show All Music" enabled in Settings > iTunes & App Store, the above will delete the song from your device, but it will still appear available (with a cloud symbol to re-download).
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • I have multiple artists in my music ("Beatles" vs. "The Beatles) but in iTunes I went through every artist to ensure the name was the same, deleted all my music off my phone, then resynced my phone, still same problem!!!!!

I have been having this problem since I had my phone... I have numerous artists that are separated because of a small change such as having "The" or even just a space at the end of the artists name. I fixed this issue with my gf's iPod 2 months ago by painstakingly going through each and every artist ensuring that the name was spelled the exact same way as all the other songs by the same artist. I did the same for my iTunes and although it shows up fine in iTunes, even after I delete all my music off my phone and resync, the issue persists. I am super anal about things just like this and it is driving me to the point where I don't want to use my phone as an iPod (I rarely used my existing iPod but I thought it would be nice to have one I would always have on me) because to listen to an artist all the way through I have to change halfway.

The title of my initial post is a bit misleading. I already took a chance deleting one of the iPhones, hoping if I deleted the wrong one, I can still reauthorize it (all with the same Apple ID acct, so not subject to 90-day waiting period, right?) The iTunes database just updated itself, and it says I have 4 "devices" "in the Cloud", but 5 "computers" associated w my account. How can I find out what computers are associated? Isn't there a list I can see? I dont have a clue what computers they might be. If I use the  "Deauthorize All" option, is it a pain to add them all back in. I assume I would have to log in from each computer to reauthorize each one. Would I have to be running the newest OS or version of iTunes to reauthorize? I think I have a PowerBook G4 Titanium with an older OS and iTunes. I'd like to keep that authorized, if possible.
