Cannot delete or add playlists to iPod using manual adjust option

Hello!
First time I tried manual adjust it worked for me (I deleted 2 lists off my iPod, and added a new one).
But now, two days after I did that, adding or deleting playlists simply won't work.
When I connected my iPod to the computer, iTunes told me that my iPod couldn't sync because there was not enough space for that (1 MB).
Then, I try deleting 1 or 2 playlists from the iPod. Despite the deleting, the number of songs in the Music library is still the same. Which means, nothing has been deleted.
And when I try to add a new playlist as a substitute for the one I tried to delete, it only adds the playlist, without the songs in it, though.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks in advance.
PS: managing my songs manually is important for me, because the number of songs I have in iTunes is higher than my iPod capacity. So, from time to time, I may want to put some songs in it, and take other songs out of it.

how can I add playlist to ipod nano

    You can't.
You should create playlists in iTunes and then transfer them to the iPod.
If you need to change it, do it in iTunes and then transfer again to the iPod.
Do you mean an On-the-Go playlists?
They only transfer from the iPod to iTunes when in Auto-sync.

My Macbook pro OS 10.10.2 suddenly will not communicate with my Cannon MX890 printer.  I reset all printers and now I cannot seem to add a printer by using the Add a printer function.  Ideas?

The appearance of the printer in the Default view of the Add printer window relies on a protocol called Bonjour. There have been quite a few users who upgraded to Yosemite only to find that their wifi printer is no longer visible. Until Apple resolves this issue you can add your printer using the LPD protocol. To do so you will need to determine the IP address being used by the MX890. This can be done via the touch panel under Device Settings > Network Settings.
Once you learn the IP address then on the Mac you can click to add the printer and select the IP icon. Here you can enter the IP address, set the Protocol to Line Printer Deamon and leave the Queue field blank. Then change the name to Canon MX890 and in the Use menu, browse for the Canon MX890 series driver. Then click Add to complete the printer creation.

  • I cannot delete an audiobook from my ipod.

I have removed the audiobook from my playlist, I have deleted it from itunes, I have deleted it from my computer's hard drive but still it remains on my ipod when i sync. When I sync my ipod and go through the contents of my ipod via itunes I cannot find the audiobook on my ipod however if I go to audiobooks when using my ipod, there it is and I am unable to delete it like I would a podcast by sliding my finger left over it.
Is this audiobook with me forever?

Are you manually managing your ipod? If so, look under playlists on your iPod. If you find it there, plug into itunes, highlight the audiobook under you ipod and right click then delete it.
If you are automatically syncing your ipod, switch to manually manage music (say yes to the pop up) then hit apply in the bottom right hand corner. follow the steps above then deselect manually manage music. (answer yes to the pop up and apply again.)

  • Cannot delete music from my new iPod nano

I have just bought an iPod nano 4GB and when I first got it I copied over almost a full 4GB of music to it. I have now ripped a lot of my cds in itunes and have about 20GB of music so I cannot copy the entire library, therefore I would like to copy everything over manually. I have set this option in the iPod preferences but it doesnt seem to do much. I cannot delete any of the music from the iPod. In iTunes, I go to my iPod and select a tune and press delete, then it prompts me about deleting it from the list. I press Yes and it says "do not disconnect" but then when I go to the iPod, the tune is still there. I even tried deleting all of the tunes at once but nothing.
    Does anybody have any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Allan

I have managed to solve the problem. It appears that the file structure on the iPod had been corrupted so I used the iPod utility to erase the disk and install factory settings again. All seems to work fine now...

  • Can iTunes delete tracks from Playlist + FROM IPOD ITSELF?

    Hello,
i'm pretty a newbie when it comes to iPod and iTunes. Haveing a nano and seen this problem today: I organize all my tracks in Folders on my HDD and drag the folders to the Playlist Bar, so i make a playlist of a complete folder. Then i drag the playlist on the ipod so i gat the same content on my nano as in the original folder on the harddrive. Now sometimes i want to delete some songs inside a playlist off the ipod (for example from a playlist with mixed single tracks, not albums). But when i delete a track out of the playlist, it still maintains on the iPod. Can i make Itunes delete the song automatically off my ipod when i remove it from a playlist? the way it is now i would have to see in the playlists, what tracks i want to delete and then go through the unsorted list with the tracks and delete the tracks by hand....

I am using manual playlist, not this autofill feature. could you please explain this a little bit more in detail? wehre to uncheck the tracks, on the ipod playlist or on my local playlists on the left side of itunes?
I dont know if you got me the right way. I am having a large playlist with a load of tracks. from this playlist, i would like to be able to delete tracks, but not only the playlist entry, also the files should be deleted from the ipod?

  • Add playlists to ipod shuffle

how do i add a playlist to my ipod shuffle

If this is the current 4th gen (or 3rd gen) shuffle, you can add a playlist or multiple playlists.  (Earlier shuffles basically acted as ONE playlist.)
There are two ways to add playlists to a 3rd or 4th gen shuffle.  Manually and using automatic syncing.  I'll describe automatic syncing...
NOTE:  When you set up automatic syncing, the iPod's existing content is replaced.  Any songs on the iPod that are not in your iTunes library will be lost.  If this is a problem, please post back.  I can describe how to add playlists using the manual method.
First, if the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  The iPod appears in the sidebar, under DEVICES, when connected.
Select the iPod in the sidebar.  To the right, its Summary screen is shown.  Toward the top, where it says Summary, click on Music next to Summary.  This Music screen is where you tell iTunes what and how to sync (for songs).
Check the box for Sync Music.  This setting enables automatic syncing.  Choose the option to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Look under Playlists for the playlist or playlists (in your iTunes library) that you want on the shuffle, and select (checkmark) them.  You can also select other items on the other lists, as desired.
When you click Apply, the songs in your selections sync to the iPod (include the selected playlists).  Going forward, to update your iPod, you can update those playlists in your iTunes library (add/remove songs).  The iPod does not need to be connected.  The next time you connect the iPod (or click Sync if already connected), iTunes updates the iPod with the same changes.

  • Cannot delete greyed out podcasts on Ipod Touch

I cannot delete greyed out podcasts on my ipod Touch since uprading to iOS 5.1. They don't appear when connected to itunes. Scarcely the end of the world but a little annoying! I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

This appears to be a bug. The only way I have been able to resolve this myself is to unsync and resync all of my podcasts via iTunes.

  • Every time I try and delete an album from my ipod using itunes but doing so manually as was suggested, it is also deleted from the itunes library that i have set up.  How do I just delete albums from my ipod and not loose them from my pc itunes library?

I have an extensive itunes library on my pc.  I want to delete albums from my ipod but still keep them in my itunes library.  Everytime I try to delete by right clicking on the album and choosing delete, I also loose the album from itunes.  I have just gotten an old iphone and put just classical and jazz on the iphone and want to delete those albums from my ipod but alas I will be loosing them from the iphone as well as soon as I sync with itunes in the future.  I put settings into manual manage music but still the albums go off itunes.  Any suggestions?

I'm thinking you sync to your computer over Wi-Fi, if correct, switch to sync when connected to iTunes, turn off sync over Wi-Fi. Hope this helps, Good luck. Cheers.

I sent myself a file with an attachement. It is crahing my mail and I cannot delete it...what can I do to delet it?????

    Dear Apple friends,
I have the exact same problem with some apps.
Even when I try some websites in Safari and Chrome that require loading big chunks of data they crash.
Today it crashed in two new places. In the notification center and when I opened newstand app I no longer was able to return to the main window and the dock disappeared.
I have my ipad retina for about three months now but latelly this issue has became more frequent. What should I do?
Should I update to the latest firmware and do what raymond73 said?
Is there a fix for this issue?
Has Apple said anything about this? Because I see that this issue is happening to a lot of people.
Is it possible to downgrade to iOS 6?
Is it a firmware problem? That can be fixed in future releases? Or an hardware issue?
Should I wait or go to the place I bought it and try to get the money back?

  • Cannot add playlist to Ipod

Whenever I try to add my playlist from my computer to my ipod, the crossed out circle appears, and I cannot add it. I found that when I go to my Ipod, the bar that shows how much space is left has a lock next to it. Does this mean anything?

    It is in Autosync.
    Select the iPod in iTunes.
    Click on the music tab.
Select the playlists you want to put onto the iPod.
When you wanto add/delete music from the iPod, just do it from these playlists and then sync the iPod.

  • I am running Windows XP PRO. Firefox 3.6 islisted in in my computer and I cannot delete it in the control panel using the Add of Delete Function. I have even gon into the safe mode and I still cannot delete it.

I want to intall Mozilla Firefox 4. Will this delete the contents of Firefox 3.6? I was to the point that I was ready to Reboot the Whole system. I called Microsoft and they resolved the Silverstream issue. When in the control panel I click on the delete function all that is does is stay at Blue. It will not delete and it does not give me any message.

    The normal method is simply
    * Help -> Check for Updates
    on Firefox (Window XP)
    * see also [[Updating Firefox]]
You should be able to delete Firefox and remove it, from your Windows XP control panel although that may not be what you intend.
If you have doubts about compatibility stay with Firefox3.6 for now.
Some software extensions will currently have problems with firefox 4 (and that iircc may include some versions of silverlight )
Do NOT use any delete settings (or whatever it is worded) that will loose all your passwords and bookmarks.
BTW the safe mode in relation to Firefox is a totally different concept from Windows safe mode, but you probably have no need to use either of them.
    * see also [[Safe Mode]]
On an ordinary upgrade Firefox will preserve your profile details which include bookmarks any passwords.
You should have no problems in installing Firefox 4. You should be able to install firefox 4, and retain any bookmarks etc that were used in firefox 3.6, but sometimes extensions may be incompatible.

  • Cannot delete or add bookmarks in Safari 8.0.3 on my iMac

Although I've been a Mac user forever, I've always preferred Google products, especially Chrome.  I decided to give Safari another try after updating to 8.0.3 but am ready to go right back to Chrome and just deal with the syncing issues.
I am trying to personalize Safari and absolutely cannot get the bookmarks to change.  I do NOT want Bing, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn or Yahoo in my favorites (they aren't MY favorites, goshdarnit!) but no matter how I try to delete them (right-click, delete; drag into the desktop; delete from the menu) they always pop back when I restart Safari.
Moreover, any bookmarks I add (including bookmark folders) disappear as soon as I log out.  I have researched the issue (clearly I'm not alone with this problem) and have tried the following:
    1.  Opened iCloud preferences from Finder and unchecked the box next to Safari.  Restarted computer.  No love.
    2.  Another user asked a similar question (it wasn't answered) and someone suggested he try to move the bookmarks.plist to the desktop and then relaunch Safari.   I tried to move bookmarks.plist to the desktop and relaunch Safari but when I got to the part in the instructions where I was to paste bookmarks.plist into the "Go To" text box in Finder, I got the error message that "library can't be found.
I have also "turned the computer off and turned it back on again" several times, just to make sure.
I'm at a loss.  I'm not *that* computer savvy so I've been reluctant to do anything that requires going into directories and typing a lot of stuff that looks suspiciously like code  :-)
So now I'm stuck with these stupid "favorite" bookmarks stinking up my favorites bar and no way to add my own.  I have checked Safari settings on my iPad and iPhone (both brand new and everything updating to iCloud and supposedly synced) and they both have different preset favorites than the ones on the iMac.  I have only tried to save bookmarks on the iMac.
    TIA!

Back up all data before proceeding.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    sudo find ~ $TMPDIR.. -exec chflags -h nouchg,nouappnd,noschg,nosappnd {} + -exec chown -h $UID {} + -exec chmod +rw {} + -exec chmod -h -N {} + -type d -exec chmod -h +x {} + 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take several minutes to run, depending on how many files you have. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
              Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open. In that window, type this:
    resetp
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
               ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • Cannot delete file - tried everything - file in use by Windows Explorer error

Hi - I have tried now for 2-3 hours trying to delete an .mkv file from my "Downloads" folder
It says the file is in use by Windows Explorer and cannot be deleted
I have tried deleting it using Del command prompt as me and as Administrator (I am the Admnistrator, there are no other users) - no luck
I have tried Safe Boot and then deleting - no luck
I have tried rebooting many times and then deleting - no luck
Any ideas? It's driving me nuts

hi to all who have this bug- "file in use by Windows Explorer error"
this is the only way that it works:
    1.type cmd in search box
2.go to the drive and the directory the file is in ,for example:
after you type cmd you have a black screen with c:\user\
type in the drive the file is in and hit enter example - d: than hit enter
    than you should see d:\>
now click the directory the problem file is in ,for example i will call the directory "movies"  type in this-   cd movies
now you will see this d:\movies>
to delete the file type this:  del filename.mkv (dont forget the .mkv or any other file extension) don't hit enter yet, first open task manager (cntrl+shift+esc) go to process tab than right click on explorer.exe choose and click on end process
now your desktop should disappear. get back to the "cmd" window and hit enter.
now the file is deleted. now go back to the task manager and click on "file" on the upper left corner then on new task then type in "explorer.exe"
    and you are done
please note that the file name you choose to delete cant be with spaces between the letters .if so you will need to change it in the same way in the cmd window only the comand will be instead of "del filename.mkv"(for example) after you are in the
    right drive and directory:
    rename "test space.mkv" testspace.mkv
    hope i helped
this is the only way it workes
Instead of running a CMD prompt and typing everything, just start up Winrar or Winzip, kill Explorer, then delete problem MKV files to your hearts content within Winrar or Winzip.
Winrar and Winzip will navigate your folders as well.
After you are done, create a new Explorer task.
or.....   if you need to rename MKV files, just rename them within Winrar/Winzip with Explorer not running.
I change the MKV extension to AVI (in Winrar with Explorer killed) in order to avoid Explorer issues, if I ever want to move the files in the future without needing to kill Explorer all the time to do so .
Using WinRAR works for me. Using the cmd function becomes complicated when I cannot rename my file with the rename command".
