Cannot delete photos from iPod touch

I cannot delete photos from my ipod touch. There is no delete button.  help

Why did Apple program it to function this way?! I synced photos from my computer to my iPod. I threw away my old computer when I bought a Macbook Pro. I want to delete my previously synced photos from my old computer. How can I unsynced the photos now? Can I ask Apple to allow synced photos to be deleted? Can I also ask Apple to allow me to add more photos on my iPod to the album of synced photos?

How do I delete photos from iPod Touch?  Some photos do not have the trash basket option!
When I first synced my iPod Touch with my laptop, it uploaded a lot of photos onto the iPod.  I now wish to delete those but it does not seem as a straight forward option!

For photos synced to the iPod you have to unsync them:
To delete photos from your device
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
    Click Apply.

  • How to delete photos from ipod touch

My hard drive crashed and had a new hard drive installed. Used Time Machine and restored my data. When I connected my iPod iPhoto improrted all my photos. Now I have over 10,000 pictures on my iPod. How do I delete these off my iPod and keep the ones I want to remain on my iPod???

Delete the images you want to delete on the folder you used to sync. Then sync your iPod and the pictures you deleted would be deleted on your iPod touch.
The delete button only appears to photo you got off the net , Bluetooth photo transfer and screenshot. Any photo you sync using iTunes will not have the delete button. Hope this week

  • Cannot delete music from ipod touch, tried everything suggested thus far.

I have tried several suggestions up to this point and nothing has worked. It is my understanding that everything in My Music, (on my PC) transfers to the iTunes program, either manually or automaticlly. It is also my understanding that if I add or delete music from iTunes, that it will automatically be added or deleted on my iPod Touch, (4th gen). Well, none of this has proven to be true...at best, it is sporatic and frustrating. Any new ideas out there?

Thanks for the help....I tried your suggestion, but I am still experiencing inconsistent results.
    Buy doing what?...
You need to be more specific about what you are trying. "I've tried several suggestions" tells us nothing. You've tried my suggestion (but I made two - dependant upon what you are doing), but you haven't told me how you are managing your iPod, are you using Sync or manually managing? Without that knowledge, everything else is meaningless.
If you are using Sync, and you have selected *Sync only ticked songs and videos,* then un-ticking a song and then performing a Sync will remove the song. So what are you doing?

  • Is there anyway to pull back deleted photos from ipod touch?

My son just deleted some of his photos from his ipod and he wants them back.  I have no idea if this is possible.

    Deleted what photos?
Photos taken with the ipod?  If so, then no you cannot get them back,  unless you had synced ( and therefore backed up) the ipod when the pics were on the device.  Then you may be able to restore to that backup.

  • Delete photos from iPod Touch 4G

I can no longer sync my iPod Touch 4G (iOS 6) with iTunes (insufficient space).  When I bought my MacBook Pro last year, they set it up to sync my photos (I literally have over 12,000 photos) which all got transferred to my iPod.  I want to delete them but can't seem to find any delete options or how to stop iPhoto from automatically transferring all of my photos after uploading.  I now have iTunes 11 and it doesn't even show photos in the sidebar anymore so I can't seem to delete them that way. Anyone know how I can remove these photos from my iPod and/or stop iPhoto from always syncing them to the iPod??

To delete photos and videos from your device
To delete synced photos and videos
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.

There are also thrid-party programs that should work. PhoneView and TouchCopy are two. They are paid programs.

  • Delete photos from iPod Touch

Need some help with this PLEASE!?
I added some photos on my ipod touch by iTunes, & now I want to delete them but I don't know how. I tried to delete them on my ipod but I couldn't because they are in a new album & they also exist in another album on my ipod. The album names are: Photos & 2011, & when I tried to delete them on my ipod I couldn't there were no delete button.......What do I do???
    Because I need MAJOR help!

On the iPod you can only delete photos taken by or saved to the iPod.  Those are the photos in the Camera Roll.  For photos synced to the iPod you have to unsync them.

Are you sure there was no delete button. Is there a section under the photos when the album is open which looks like a box and an arrow coming out? If so click on it and then it is possible to delete the photos. Subsequently just go on itunes and when the ipod is connected go into photos, and simply choose the folders.

  • Cannot delete song from iPod Touch 4

Just got iPod Touch 4 and it tried synching entiere song catalog from computer.  Cancelled synch, but one song is "stuck" on the Touch - it won't play, and won't give the option to delete it - text is in grey and the song is unselectable.  How do I delete this one item?

Nothing.  I guess I'll just have to choose to ignore that one song.  I've just built a playlist that contains only the songs that I can access and use that instead of the base list.
I can't believe that we're the only two people who have this problem and that nobody else has an idea how to fix it.

  • Cannot delete songs from iPod Touch

    Hi all,
I manage my device content manually on iTunes, and I am trying to delete enough songs from my ipod touch to download the new iOS. I clicked "on this device" in iTunes and deleted the songs I didn't want, but they are still on my device. I've restarted the device and restarted iTunes. When I had unplugged the device and plugged it back in, under "on this device" it does not show the song I tried to delete, but they are still on my device. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    That happens sometimes.
You can either update via iTunes
    or try:
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music

  • Cannot delete photos from iPod nano 3G

My brother, a windozer, has last week bought a iPod Nano. He was playing around a bit and loaded, he don't remember how, some photos on the Nano.
He is now desperately trying to remove these photos from his nano. I suggested him to define one folder with just one photo in it, sync with that one in iTunes, with the hope that the Nano will get this only photo and delete all others. Unfortunately this does not work.
    Any hints?

Has he tried Restoring the iPod in iTunes ???

  • Deleting photos from iPod Touch

I have been reading the posts on this and find that by checking off only the albums and not syncing my iPod Photo folder, I've managed to get rid of a lot of the excess photos I've been plagued with.  But I still have an album containing photos called Photo Stream that won't go away.  When I go to select the photos, there is no 'delete' option - only 'share', 'copy', 'add to' and 'save'.  How do I get rid of these?  They include some app screen shots that I can't even figure out.  Recommendations would be appreciated!

To get it off your ipod go to: Settings> iCloud> PhotoStream
To get it off your mac (I'm not sure about windows) go to: system preferances> iCloud and uncheck photostream.
The photostram library will be gone from iPhoto.

  • Cannot delete mail from ipod touch & "syncing error"

I get this error message "unable to move message" and "the message could not be moved to the mailbox trash".  When I tap on settings and mail, contacts, calendars I get "accounts are currently syncing.   Please help.

Not possible, that would defeat the convenience of webmail/touch syncing. If your concern is security (ie, someone finds or steals your touch), set the touch to Autolock in Settings. With this feature enabled, someone would need to enter a password to see your email (or do anything else with your touch).

  • Can i delete songs from ipod touch once i upload them to icloud, can i delete songs from ipod touch once i upload them to icloud

once you upload songs, photos or documents fron ipod touch to icloud, can you delete them from ipod touch to free up memory from ipod touch and can you access them from icloud without downloading to ipod?

You can't upload music to iCloud unless you are an iTunes Match subscriber, and if you are the songs are uploaded or matched from the iTunes library on your computer, not your device.  Photos are only uploaded to Photo Stream temporarily (30 days), for up to 1000 photos so it's not meant to be a permanent storage option.  The uploaded photos are also generally of lower quality than the originals on your device.  Also, only photos taken on your device after turning on Photo Stream are uploaded.  Finally, when you turn Photo Stream on, uploaded photos will be streamed back to your device in a Photo Stream album (so it actually uses some of your memory rather than saving it).  As for documents, only iWork documents are uploaded.
If you really want to free up storage on your device consider more permanent cloud storage services such as DropBox (which will handle photos and all documents).
