Cannot detect 9720 to Mac Desktop Software

The Mac Desktop Software doesnt appear to detect my 9720.
Just sits there in the welcome to Blackberry Destop Spftware.
It is connected directly to my MacBook Pro (No Hubs).
The Apps Persmission's appear to be correct.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled - no change.
Does it have to be in Mass Storage Mode?
Does the Blacberry have to have a Data Card installed to enter Mass Storage Mode?
Any help would be great....

  • Cannot restart iMac after installing desktop software

    Hello.
I installed Mac Desktop software into my iMac (intel), and restarted it.
As you know, you see gray Apple logo with white background, however, the usual desktop never comes up.
    How should I do?
If someone has any solution, please let me know!!
    Thank you in advance.

    Hello cmaisano,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
It sounds like the BlackBerry Desktop Manager updated the software on the BlackBerry smartphone.
    Thank you

  • Cant Sync Mac Desktop Software with Mac Outlook 2011

    Hi,
I cant Sync Mac Desktop Software with Mac Outlook 2011, Calendar and Contacts etc.
The sync button is not highlighted on the BB Mac Desktop Software therefore it can't be clicked.
I have turned on sync in Outlook in Preferences under Sync Services.
In the BB Deskstop Software, when i click on the Calendar function, it says "There are no writable Calendars available for syncing on this computer. The Contacts section says "sync services is currently turned off on this Mac"
I have updated both the Deskstop software and Mac Outlook to the latest updates.
    Regards.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
First off, you must have installed one of the compatible Desktop Organizer apps:
KB12268Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Software for Windows for synchronization
Attempting to use anything NOT on that list will, of course, fail.
Secondly, you must have not have Outlook installed as "Click To Run":
KB24040 Support for Microsoft Office 2010 Click-to-Run installation
If you have it installed in that manner, you must correct that.
I have no idea how your prior machine was configured, but I know 100% that you can synchronize to a Win7X64 Laptop with Outlook 2010...I do it all the time.
    Good luck!

  • BB Storm screen problems after using Mac desktop software

Ever since I first used the Mac desktop software, I keep having problems with my Storm.  The screen keeps dimming to about 30-40%, although it is set at 100%.  I thought it was the device, so I got a new one.  Same thing has happened.  Anyone else having this problem?

Thanks again for the quick reply simongee,
To make sure it is not data related or hardware related (usb port speed), I would suggest performing a security wipe ****Backup first**** www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB14058
Then add a few test contacts and some test calendar appointments and then try to create a backup.  Let me know how look it takes to do the backup.

  • MAC Desktop software and Blackberry 9900 OS7

I am not sure if it is justy me but having huge synch problems with my new 9900.  The orginal format of the BB software have options to the left of the screen for Calendar, contacts, tasks and notes.  This does not appear anymore as with my previos Bold.  I have downloaded the latest update to my MAC but still no joy.  Any ideas??
    Rgds,
    Rick.

I have this same problem with you when I just updated to the new Desktop Software, I was syncing music and contacts fine until that update. This is really bugging me right now. I need to sync music and photos. It's much easier. HELP
EDIT: found the problem. got this from a previous thread. Resize the application window. Everything will come back again

  • MAC Desktop Software not connecting

Okay, here is the problem...apart from the missing Languages:
When I connect the 9800 to my MAC utilizing the BB Desktop Software. If  I click Applications, the only things that come up are  third party Apps that I have downloaded, AccuWeather, The Weather Channel and WhatsApp Messenger. Nothing else shows up!.
Now if I check for updates I get the following message:  "BlackBerry Desktop Software could not connect to the update server. There may be a problem with your network connection or the server is not responding. Please try again later". Now obviously I can connect to the internet and read my mail so the network is working fine!
So as to performing a clean reload, they do not apply as it seems its impossible to get that far.
Also I do not understand how the the carrier can determine what is loaded on ones phone. I have tried loading the device software with the SIM card installed and without it, same thing.
Or is it that I am doing something wrong?
I should perhaps mention that I am in Germany and my Carrier is eplus!
I am adding my original post, as I believe my problems are all connected:
    Languages Missing
After reinstalling OS Software on 9800 I no longer have the languages that I had before e.g. German, French, Italian, Spanish,…don't get me wrong there are other languages, but the ones I need.
Using the BB Desktop Software I have looked in the Backup/Restore and Applications Folders, but no mention of Languages.
How can I get the others back?
I  connected my 9800 to my Mac  OS  10.8.4  with the BlackBerry Desktop Software 2.4.0 for the first time. I made a backup and after that somehow my 9800 restarted and then a message came up on screen (Mac) that the device had not been put away correctly, then another message came up that the 9800 did not have an OS installed, it gave 3 options to install all 6.0.0 but with different bundles. I installed the recommended bundle. I have also tried the other bundles, with the same result, which is not the Languages that I require!
MOD EDIT: Subject changed to reflect a new topic

  • New mac desktop software wiped my phone

    Any help would be appreciated.
My phone reset twice while attempting the first sync with the new BB desktop software.  When it came back almost everything was gone.  Email non-functioning, all messages gone, all the apps I use regularly gone, contacts, calendar, everything gone.
Of course I have all my contacts and calendars on backup - not a huge problem - can be replaced via missing sync (should have stuck with missing sync - it works decent)
Problem is - all my blackberry apps and programs were missing:  maps, the games - including WORD MOLE - my favourite game.  How do I get these back onto my phone?  nowhere can I find this software on BB site.
I was able to replace BB Messenger and Facebook from the BB Apps store.

I just downloaded the new desktop manager for mac last night and when I ran the first sync everything that wasnt saved to my sdcard is now gone. Screw you blackberry, my next phone will be an iPhone.

  • Cannot sync 8820 with Mac desktop

    Hi
In About PocketMac SyncManager it shows as Version 1.0 (1.0.9) no matter how many times I install / uninstall.  However it should be version 4.02 shouldn't it?
Also when I uninstall and reinstall the same settings appear already selected in the Blackberry settings area under Contacts / Calendar etc
When I sync it gets stuck on Synchronizing Contacts - eventually it syncs about 20 of my 1,000 contacts
would be grateful for some help
    thanks
    ian

    Hey Maarten08 and autoca,
I would suggest doing the following:
Uninstall BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac, restart the computer.
    Then perform the following:
On the Mac computer, navigate to Macintosh HD >
    System > Library >
    Extensions.
    Locate the BlackBerryUSB.kext and
    BlackBerryUSBDev.kext files.
Move these two files to the Trash.
    Empty the Trash.
    Restart the Mac computer.
Then go to www.blackberry.com/desktop to re-download BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac.
Install and then hook up the BlackBerry and make sure you have mass storage mode enabled.
For information on how to enable mass storage mode: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB13564
Let me know if you run into any trouble.

  • Device not recognized by Mac Desktop Software

I have tried to sync my Blackberry 8830 World Edition with the latest version of the Mac Blackberry Desktop Software (v. 2.1.3, build 10), but the device is not recognized.
I am working on a MacBook Air running under OS 10.6.8.
I've tried changing USB cables, but this makes no difference.
Some postings advise restarting the computer with the "3" and "2" keys depressed, in order to boot into 32-bit mode, but this hasn't enabled the recognition of the device either.
    Thanks in advance for suggestions/advice.

    Hey newsmith,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Do you mass storage enabled on the BlackBerry?  Also does the BlackBerry show that it is charging?  Try removing the battery and place it back in.

  • Device 9700 not detected by recently upgraded desktop software

Recently synced my BBerry for my music. Tried to upgrade the software as prompted on the device. This failed 3 times with a fatal error. Prompted to upgrade the desktop software so I did. All ok. rebooted pc. plugged in the BBerry. Connection ok as photoshop elements downloads thumbnails of the files. Cancel this download. Start BBery DM but it wont recognised the device. Help anyone?

    Hello Jim,
I suggest plugging it in on another system with Desktop Software installed to see if the issue is with the device or specific to your computer.
    Cheers,

  • MAC Desktop software lack of support

New to this board, but have posted in numerous other boards.   When is RIM going release a desktop mgr software that is compatible with MAC?  Yes, I know there is Pocketmac, but that application is worth the price that you pay for it...nothing.   I have uninstalled and reinstalled it too many times to count and still run in to the same pathetic problems.
Yes, I know there is Missing sync. But why should I have to pay for a desktop mgr when RIM supplies a desktop mgr for FREE to Windows users.
Yes, I know I can BUY Parrels and run it on my mac, but again why should have to buy software to run on MAC to be able to use a BB.
When I bought this paperweight I was assured by both Verizon as well as RIM that the BB was "100% compatible with a MAC".  What a BS LIE!!!!
Its pathetic that RIM has "had MAC software on our radar since 2004", yet 5 years later still nothing.
I'm now locked in to a 2 year agreement with my carrier for a phone that cannot be upgrade to a new OS, can not be properly synced, cannot be utilized to its fullest potential.  Absolutely pathetic business practices on RIMs part.
Come on, even Turbo Tax comes Mac/Windows compatible.  Why would it be so difficult for RIM to release a Desktop mgr for MAC other than they just don't care about their customers.

I think it's clear at this point that RIM doesn't give a S*&T about mac users. Which is sad, because those of us who do a lot of email aren't about to switch to the iPhone right now. I'm a die-hard bb user, but now that I've switched to a mac it seems that RIM dosn't really want my business anymore.
As soon as Apple comes out with an iPhone that has a real keyboard, I'm switching. Congratulations, RIM: you've turned off a long-time customer.

  • Mac desktop software

anyone using this yet and how does it appear to be working?  thanks.
    andy

I was able to download and install the software today without issue.  I have run it a few times to test it and it appears to be working very well.  I have a Blackberry Storm and my Mac is an IMAC.  I have read in these forums that people who were running an earlier version of Desktop Manager for Mac ("leaked version") have had problems.  For me it is working fine.
One concern, it does not seem to sync the camera files with IPhoto.  Hopefully this will come in a later release.  Bluetooth connectivity would also be great if anyone from BB is listening!
    Good luck.

  • Cannot sign into my Mac desktop

I recently bought an iMac OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 and set it up with my existing Apple account as the Administrator and all was well. I then set up and account for my husband and he can use his with no problems. However I cannot get into mine as it 'tells' me it's the wrong password and I should change password from another device. Since setting up the account I have changed my password a couple of times on my iPad and today on my PC but I still cannot log in to the Mac. Can you help?
