Lightroom 5.6 cannot detect my D610 for camera tethering. I had this problem for quite some time. But before my tether would usually work but it would take a very long time or i need to turn the camera on and off or remove the cable a couple of times just so that the lightroom can detect it. But just recently while tethering in the middle of the shoot it got disconnected then after that my lightroom won't detect my camera anymore. Whats wrong with it? any fix? The reason i purchased Lightroom because of its easy tethering, but sad to say now I can't even use it.
    OS: Windows 8.1

Exactly the same problem here. Used to work from time to time, now not at all. No software change in-between.

  • The air app cannot detect the new added camera

i made a desktop air-app. the problem is when i unpluged my usb camera and start the air app . the app detect the existed cameras with Camera.names.length = 2; and then i pluged another usb camera and use the Camera.names.length to detect the new camera, but the result is still 2 , not the 2 existed camera with the new added one which the total is 3. then i close the air-app and start it again ,this time the camera.names.length is 3. why ? the air-app just cannot detect the new added camera? the only way the air-app can detect the new added camera is restart the app?

Air ow flash player for that matter won't detect camera added at runtime. It will detect if you remove the camera while you were capturing images from the camera. You can try to scan for camera suing a timer and see if it detects it then.
There is also a not so documented flash.media.scanHardware() method, which should force a hardware scan. I did not used it yet so can't vouch for it.

  • I am trying to use screens and it keeps telling me it cannot detect Java even though I have installed and updated Java?  What might be the problem?

I am trying to use "screenr" and it keeps telling me it cannot detect Java even though I have downloaded and updated Java?  What is going on or what might I do to correct this?
    Thanks

Firefox needs 32-bit plugins, so you'll need to install 32-bit Java for Firefox.
No, you can't change Firefox from 32-bt to 64-bit. There is a Nightly 64-bit version (alpha) of Firefox, but it is used only to test for regressions until development is resumed.

  • Why won't my iMac detect my built in camera?

My computer won't dect my built in camera.  Just wondering why?  It's pretty much brand new, I have updated it recently and was wondering if it could have something to do with that?  It used to work and now it doesn't.  I have tried the disk utility thing.

Because something is wrong.  However, without more info, we cannot tell what or how to correct it.
    (1) If the iSight Troubleshooting article Carolyn links above does not help (the proper "reset" suggested there often does,) applying the latest Combo Update for the Mac OS you use may correct your trouble.
    For 10.7,x: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1459
    For 10.6.x:  http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Whichever you use, repair permissions immediately before AND after the update.
If you use a different Mac OS, search here http://support.apple.com/downloads/
If you cannot find the update you need, post back your Mac OS version and we will give you a specific link.
    (2) If you need to post back, include info for which Mac and Mac OS you use.  (If you like, you can include this info in your User Profile so you do not need to enter into every post you make.)   Also, for this particular problem, please tell us whether you whether you have a Canon Scanner app in your  > System Preferences... > Users & Groups  > Login Items.

  • Facetime cannot find my built in camera on my MacBook Air

I have a MacBook Air 3.2 (Late 2010 13") and I have tried several times to use Facetime for Mac but it does not see my built in camera. Any suggestions?

This one stumped me for a while too. Sometimes it would work (usually after a restart) but then would stop working some indeterminant amount of time later. I think another process might be using the camera.
Go to Terminal.app and type in sudo killall VDCAssistant (and enter your admin password; alternatively find the VDCAssistant processing Activity Monitor and stop it that way). This will stop other processes that might be reserving the camera.

  • ISight Built in Camera on iMovie09 and speed problem. Please Help

    Hello,
I recently installed imovie09 after using imovie06 for quite sometime. I am getting two problems for now. First, when my videos from iPhoto got imported to iMovie, the audio is working fine but the actual clip is skipping. Is this normal? For me to able to fix it, I have to go to clip adjustment and do convert clip all the time. This is really annoying specially My video will consist at least 7 clips. Is there any other way? Second, I tried to use the isight built in camera so it can be only one clip. I noticed that when I was filming, my audio and my actual video is not on the right timing and when its time for me to save it and play it back, it was skipping also! I recorded 1 minute video and it will only play for 12 seconds! To top it off, it's not the first 12sec of the video but it's actually skipping through out the one minute clip I did.
Can anyone please help me with this situation. I will very much appreciate it. I don't want to end up regretting that I upgraded to imovie09 only to find out things will be much complicated
    Thanks,
    Ashtoush

    Hello Ashtoush
As you now know, iMovie '09 work differently than our iMovie HD 6.
Although your iMovie '09 offers many improvements over the previous iMovie '08 version, the older version imports the same way your iMovie version does, i.e., differently from iMovie HD 6.
User Jon Walker gives a complete explanation of your problem and offers workable solutions in this iMovie '08 forum thread:
      http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1134921
It seems you will have to convert your existing clips using one of the methods detailed there.
For future video clips, you may want to choose a different video capture device that is more compatible with your new iMovie so you will not need to do separate conversion.
For Apple Help on importing into your new iMovie, take a look at the suggestions here:

  • Can i use my thunderbolt in built isight camera with Skype?

recently bought the 27" thunderbolt which is hooked up to my new mac pro 13". If I have my mac closed and i'm running off the monitor and I skype, the inbuilt camera doesn't work. I have to open my mac up and use the one on that instead. Anyone else had this problem?

you can also capture from your iSight using Quicktime Player and then export the movie for use in FCE

  • Does the built in camera support skype

Long time PC user graduating from IPhone and IPad to Mac. Trying to decide on model. Pretty sure I want an iMac but there's a lot I don't know. Sure

You will need a OS X license of Photoshop, you would need to speak to Adobe about transfering your Windows license to OS X and also about the captiblity of it's data. Finally 8GB is OK, however if you are going for a 21.5" imac then get 16GB because the RAM is NOT upgradeable on teh 21.5" models. If you are buying a 27" buy the 8GB model and you can easily upgrade the RAM yourself up to 32 GB. Reliable vendors for 2013 27" iMac's are OWC (www.macsales.com) and Crucial.

  • Samsung built-in camera constantly zooming and panning

I have a new Samsung F8500 TV with a built-in, popup camera.  I have tried the Skype app a few times and the camera keeps zooming out, zooming in, and panning on its own during the whole video chat.  It is very distracting such that I don't know if we are going to be able to use the app anymore. The "Face Tracking" feature is turned off but it is almost like it is somehow still tracking movement or something.  I don't see any other settings that might affect this.  Is there a way to set a fixed zoom and pan for the camera?

Hi The mechanism for turning this off, is whilst you are on a call. Using the buttons which appear at the bottom of the screen whilst you are on a call, select the button that looks like a camera, and you should see an option allowing you to turn auto zoom/pan on/off. Once you have turned it off, the setting should be remembered each time you make a call. If that doesn't work, please let me know and I'll contact Samsung.

  • HT1462 Disable Built in cam

How can I disable my built in cam and set up a remote cam? I cannot get the built in cam to have more than one angle and position.

Uchelli62 wrote: How can I disable my built in cam and set up a remote cam? ...
You do not need to disable your inbuilt cam to plug in and use a compatible external cam.  The app you use determines how to select between cameras that are recognized by your Mac.  For more info see http://discussions.apple.com/thread/6531512 and/or http://discussions.apple.com/thread/5162798.
Uchelli62 wrote: ... I cannot get the built in cam to have more than one angle and position.
iGlasses is third-party software that offers Mac cameras a degree of software pan and zoom.  iGlasses may be worth investigating if moving your Mac to change your cameras field of view is not an option, but only if you do not need to turn your camera's field of view completely around,
As with any software pan or zoom, there will be some loss of image quality with increasing digital pan/zoom.  Only you can judge whether any loss is objectionable for your use.  iGlasses offer a free trial so you can judge whether it meets your needs before you buy.

  • Skype is not detecting my Macbook Air built-in camera

My Macbook air built-in camera is not being detected by any third party application such as skype or google after I logged in to FaceTime for first time.
I tried all options suggested in Apple Discussion forum as well as online but it's of no use. Skype Audio/Video preference is showing "NO CAMERA" and it's same with google, manycam and facebook.
Please Help me with genuine solution.

    See this thread:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5306216?tstart=0
    FIX:
    1. You need Time Machine
    2. Go to folder /Library/CoreMediaIO/Plug-Ins/DAL/
    3. Copy AppleCamera.plugin to good place (usb memory stick is the best place).
    4. Go to Time machine in date that skype work fine.
    5. Change AppleCamera.plugin with file from Time Machine
    6. Restart system, Now skype need to work with camera.
    If that doesnt pass,
Suggest looking here, much success has been found:

  • Can the built in camera be used with Skype?

I just purchased an Ipad2 with wfi.  I have a Skype account, can the built in camera work with Skype the same as FaceTime?

I think your question was: "can i sue the iPad camera with Skype?"
The answer is yes, once in Skype, simply place a video call, skype detects the camera and it works out of the box.
What does not happen is a FaceTime > Skype video call or vice versa.
