Cannot dial from corporate directory

Hi all,
In my IP phones I got the option corporate directory, but after I select any person from that list I can,t dial from the corporate directory list..
Please help
thanks

Can you put the Directory URL into your browser? If it looks like mine, the first URL will be the Directory input page which allows the user to enter criteria to search. That XML will include another URL that generates a Directory Listing. Put that URL in your browser, then scroll to the bottom. Near the bottom, you should see a number of SoftKeyItem instances. One of those should include a line that looks like SoftKey:Dial. It will also need a position specified that equals 1 throug 4 (5 if you use 7975's). If the position flag is invalid, you may not see the Dial softkey. If anything is off when you veiw it in the browser, you need to go into the DirectoryList.asp that generated the XML and correct it.

  • Transfer from corporate directory with 8945

    Hi,
we have a strange issue with transferring from corporate directory. To be honest we have never really used it so I'm struggling a little with the setup.
Call is placed to a phone and answered.
on the answered phone User looks up person on Corp directory the person they want and dial
The phone selected In corporate directory rings but then there is no option to complete the transfer.
Now I believe this is to do with enabling Direct Transfer , but I'm unable to assign the softkey to any state that I can see , or perhaps enable the transfer hard key with direct transfer???
    anyone had anything similar?

Ebert, Did you solved this issue?
Thanks a lot for your answer.

  • Collect UserID from Corporate Directory

    Hi
We currently collect Caller Name from our corporate directory in UCM but would also want to collect UserID, is that possible?

I see - in that case, it wouldn't be as simple as you hoped. You are looking up against the user directory that is designed to return contact info for users, not expose their security credentials.
The data is available in CUCM, what I would do is write a small AXL web page that would look up the enduser table based on the number you supply to a parameter on the web page. This would then just return a simple XML document with the userID.
This would also need to be hosted on a seperate server..

I found the answer myself. Just switch the phone off and on again to make it re-boot. Frustrating but just like a computer! or maybe it was taking it 30,000 feet into the air that cured it!!

  • Cannot import from NFS directory: tree not expandable

I am using Lightroom 4.3 on Mac OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1).
I am unable to import files from an NFS-mounted directory because the folders lack rocker nodes, so I can't navigate through the tree to my existing Photos directory.  It isn't practical or desirable to import the entire NFS filesystem.
I originally had the filesystem mounted with these options:
freenas:/mnt/vol_home/nfs_home on /Volumes/home (nfs, nodev, nosuid, automounted, nobrowse)
And while I can see the root of the filesystem in the left side of the import window, and while the directories have little folder icons next to them, the little triangular rockers next to them are greyed out.  If I picked a directory, and checked "include subfolders", then Lightroom would recurse through the tree and show me all of the pictures.  But I don't want to import my entire filesystem.  I need to navigate down the tree to my photo directory, but the rockers are "greyed out".  It's difficult to see them greyed out when the background is grey too, but they are there, faint as they are.
So, I thought maybe the "nobrowse" option had something to do with the inability to navigate.  I used "NFS Utility" to remove the "nobrowse"option, and remounted the filesystem.  It is now mounted with these options:
freenas:/mnt/vol_home/nfs_home on /Volumes/home (nfs, nodev, nosuid, noatime)
And while I can see the root of the filesystem in the left side of the import window, and while the directories have little folder icons next to them, [most of] the rockers next to them are still greyed out.  Here is a screenshot of the import window, alongside a Finder window, which of course lets me open the rockers and navigate just fine.  The fact that Finder works implies to me that it isn't a permissions problem.  Of course I can also "cd" using the terminal commandline.  The navigation problem appears to be limited to the Lightroom application.
Hopefully you can see from this screenshot, that only the "rbrown" folder has a working rocker.  The other rockers are greyed out (which is really difficult to see).  I need to navigate below "rbrown", but cannot.   Finder can open the "family" rocker, and can open the subfolders under "rbrown" just fine.
Why does lightroom refuse to let me open these folders?
    Thanks in advance.

I have discovered a way to get Lightroom to navigate my NFS directory!  Using the help I learned here:
    http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lightroom_4_3_import_from_and_to_nfs _mounted_filesystem_does_not_work
I discovered that not only did I need to use a nonstandard mount point (I ultimately chose "/nas"), but that I also needed to mount with the "rdirplus" option (aka "Use ReaddirPlus NFSv3 feature").  I was using the German 3rd party package "NFS Manager" to help me mount and unmount quickly, while enabling and disabling options left and right to try to figure this problem out.  It also allows me to specify it as an "automount".  Prior to Mac OS X 10.8 (mountain lion), there was a GUI in Disk Utility to allow me to specify NFS mounts, but as of mountain lion, the button is gone, for reasons unclear.
Anyway, I got lightroom to navigate my NFS server by mounting on /nas, and by specifying the 'rdirplus' option in the mount command.

  • File Adapter cannot read from Unix Directory

    Hello Everyone,
I have created a Bpel process that should read txt files from a Unix directory, but its not doing its job.
I have tried this process on windows and it works fine.
I got the following error from the process log in my bpel console.
my process compiles fine but I am getting this error: The value specified for the input (Physical/Logical)Directory activation parameter has an invalid value "/temp/test"
Also if there is something wrong with my path, please let me know.
    Thanks in advanced,
    AJ

    Hi,
The path /temp/test might be wrong. Suppose you have installed SOA at /home/oracle/product/soa/10.1.3.1/<> , where /home is the root folder, and if you have your test folder at /home/temp/test, give the location in file adapter as /home/temp/test.
Let me know if you still get this error.
    Thanks
    Ramana.

Try dialing *228 and then option 1.  Be sure to wait until you a get a message saying that it was successful.

  • Hiding users in Corporate Directory

I am trying to remember how to hide users in CD in CM. Referring to this tech note, hiding users is not that of a big deal, but this user gets removed from CD in Callmanager and hence the user doesnt show up in the phone. The disadvantage of this method is that you can modify any user related parameter from the web interface. How can we work around this ? Is there another alternative method ?
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_tech_note09186a00804d2087.shtml

Sankar you might want to try the following:
    HIDE USERS
    DC DIRECTORY
You can hide users from beeing visible in the Corporate Directory.
For doing this, you have 2 options:
    1) Set the first name to blank and put the whole name in the last name
field. Full Administrator users will not appear in the corporate
    directory.
    2) To hide a user in DC Directory:
First, cut and paste the following 4 lines into a file called "hideuser.ldif"
text file, and save it in the C: drive of the publisher callmanager server.
    dn: cn=[userid],ou=users,o=cisco.com
    changeType: modify
    replace: Description
    Description: CiscoPrivateUser
Set the [userid] to be the user you would like to hide. Example for the
    UserID "ctifw":
    dn: cn=ctifw,ou=users,o=cisco.com
    changeType: modify
    replace: Description
    Description: CiscoPrivateUser
Next run the following command from a cmd prompt on the publisher callmanager
server in order to set the description field in DC Directory.
    ldapmodify -h -p 8404 -D "cn=Directory
    Manager,o=cisco.com"
    -w -c -f hideuser.ldif
From 3.3 onwards, system users (or special users) are filtered out from the
search results. The users are filtered based on the attribute "Description".
If "Description" is CiscoPrivateUser, the user is not displayed in search
results from Corporate Directory or Users->Global Directory.
    AD DIRECTORY
To hide a user in AD do the following:
    * If integrated with AD 2000:
    dn: cn=[userid], CN=users, dc=[domain], dc=com
    changeType: modify
    replace: Description
    Description: CiscoPrivateUser
Save this file on the AD server as "hideuser.ldif".
Then execute on the AD server:
    ldifde -i -f hideuser.ldif
    * If integrated with AD 2003:
Copy the following 5 lines (please note the '-' after the four lines. In
AD2K3, this is required and has changed from AD2K) into a text file and
replace the [userid] with the userid of the user that needs to be
hidden. Replace the [domain] with your domain. Save this file on the AD
    server as "hideuser.ldif".
    dn: cn=[userid], CN=users, dc=[domain], dc=com
    changeType: modify
    replace: Description
    Description: CiscoPrivateUser
Then execute on the AD server:
    ldifde -i -f hideuser.ldif

  • Custom Corporate Directory Query Based on Department

I need to limit specific queries from Corporate Directory search based on Department. CCM 4.1(3)
My Goal is to create separate directory options, each associated with a specific department (I've done this) and then limit the query to ONLY users in that department (I need help here. :-|
The Flow as Joe sees it ~
    User selects directory button.
    (Based on info from xmldirectory.asp...)
User is provided with the following menu:
    1. Missed Calls
    2. Placed Calls
    3. Received Calls
    4. Department A
    5. Department B
    6. Department C
(I've got this far by adding new menu items to the xmldirectory.asp file, and then I tie those to separate xmldirectoryinput.asp files, which I plan to use to limit the query based on dept)
    <MenuItem>
    <Name><% = outputString( "Department A", "dictionary.lblCorporateDirectory" ) %></Name>
    <URL><% = getBaseURL() %>A_xmldirectoryinput.asp</URL>
    </MenuItem>
    <MenuItem>
    <Name><% = outputString( "Department B", "dictionary.lblCorporateDirectory" ) %></Name>
    <URL><% = getBaseURL() %>B_xmldirectoryinput.asp</URL>
    </MenuItem>
    <MenuItem>
    <Name><% = outputString( "Department C", "dictionary.lblCorporateDirectory" ) %></Name>
    <URL><% = getBaseURL() %>C_xmldirectoryinput.asp</URL>
    </MenuItem>
Next when the user selects 4. Department A, they should receive the standard
    First Name:
    Last Name:
    Number:
However, When the user selects "search", I ONLY want them to see directory entries in Department A, and not the entire Corporate Directory. So I need A_xmldirectoryinput.asp to limit the query to Department A. Actually ~ I've just added the Department menu item via the xmpldirectoryinput.asp file, and prepopulated it with the Deparment of my choice, though now, I'm stuck on the xmldirectorylist.asp, and how to Query for the DepartmentNumber ... Help please??? :)
If they select Department B, ONLY Department B, etc.
What do I need to add to, or reference in the xmldirectoryinput.asp to restrict the search to a specific department?
Also - Would any changes, additions, etc. be required in the xmldirectorylist.asp file?
    THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!! :)

  • Dialing extension from a Directory Handler

We have configured a unique directory handler on our Cisco Unity server to allow incoming callers to search from a directory.  However, when he selects an employee from the directory, when it dials it goes straight into his voice mailbox.  Is there a way to configure the directory handler to forward the call to the phone for the employee they select rather than straight into voice mail?  Thanks for your help!

You need to update the transfer settings for each Subscriber to ring an extension vs. go directly to greeting.  If you want to update all (or a number of) Subscribers for this, you can do that using Bulk Edit.  For an individual Subscriber, this option is under the transfer settings.

  • How to remove (0) from the CUCM corporate directory

    Hi,
My users are using the CUCM corporate directory to look for contacts. The CUCM is currently synchronized with Active Directory server using the "Telephone Number" to synchronized the CUCM field "Phone Number".
    My problem is about directory numbers like : +49 (0) 4034563 20-32
Currently when users try to dial this number, the CUCM automatically removes round brackets et dash, so the number dialed is : +49040345632032
I would like to remove (0) in place of just remove round bracket and keep 0. Is it possible to modify the CUCM behavior to obtain +4940345632032 ?
    I'm currently using CUCM 8.6

No, this is not possible using the native corporate directory application. The options are:
    1. Use another AD attribute (e.g. ipPhone) and populate that attribute the numbers you want to present to Cisco phones
    2. Keep the digit presentation the same and see if the CUCM dial plan can be modified to deal with the extra zero (this may or may not jive with your requirements. So, this option may be useless)
    3. Build (or have someone build) a custom corporate directory that deals with the digit manipulation so you present exactly what you want to present to the IP phone
    4. Purchase an off the shelf corporate directory that provides digit manipulation functionality
I have employed #1 and #3 (sometimes together) for my customers. For #1 it is relatively simple to export telephoneNumber attribute, run it through a filter, and update the AD user object with the ipPhone attribute. It is a little more challenging operationally because you have to ensure this is followed by admins (or automation?). For #3, I use a corporate directory toolkit I developed. If you are savvy with coding then this is do-able or you can hire someone who can do it for you.
Since my company has their own custom directory solution, I have not shopped around too heavily for an "off the shelf" solution. So, I can't make a specific recommendation there.
    HTH.

  • 5800 - cannot speed dial and dial from handsfree c...

I verified the following behaviour of the new 5800 which seems to me to be a bug, because it works on other nokia series 60 phones:
Because I synchronize my phonebook with MS Outlook, phone numbers have the syntax "+43 (1) 9876543". These phonebook entries can be dialed without problems when I call using the phonebook.
But if I use the speed dialing feature (press and hold e.g. key "2" ), I get the message "Nicht gestattet" (German, means "not allowed" ), and the number is not dialed. If I delete the spaces and the brackets, dialing is possible without problems.
The same behaviour can be seen if I try to dial from my built in handsfree set in my car with numbers as described above.
Before the 5800 I used a E65 and a 6120c, there the syntax described above worked without problems.
    Software: v11.0.008.red.01
    Any clues?
    Best regards,
    Thomas

    FIX...
I got this, I found out it happened when the number has spaces in it.
Try cleansing the number of all spaces and punctuation (and prefix with +country code)
    This works for me.
    Alan
Sorry, this is no fix, this is a workaround. It is clear, that this will avoid the problems. But PIMs like MS Outlook create phone numbers in this format; after synchronization with my phone, there are spaces in all of the phone numbers. Therefore I suggest, Nokia implements this like for all other S60v3 phones. This would be the only fix. Regards, Thomas.

  • Users showing up in corporate directory that were deleted from LDAP/AD still

    Has anyone seen this before?
CUCM 9.1.1a (9.1.1.20000) LDAP integrated with one directory.
There are a few users not listed in the end user directory anymore in CUCM, but on the phone corp directory and in Jabber you see these users still. The directory URL is pointing to the CUCM server and we have tried both servers in the cluster.  They are not in the User Management -> End user list in CUCM at all any longer.
If we add a test user, they show up in the directory and when we delete the test user they go inactive and go away after 2-3 days when garbage collection job clears them out and the test user is no longer in the directory.
The users are no longer in LDAP anymore either.  Is there a way to purge/refresh the CUCM directory?  Not finding much in bug search tool yet.
If we remove the LDAP Directory and add it back think that may clear up something?

Same here...I found this solution for older version, but haven't had a chance to try it yet
    Problem
A user is deleted from Active Directory but still appears in Cisco Unified Communications Manger as inactive and stays there in a delete pending state. This issue occurs in a Cisco Unified Communications Manager cluster synchronized with the Active Directory .
    Solution
Complete these steps in order to resolve this issue.
Choose Cisco Unified Serviceability> Tools> Control Centre - Feature Services
Choose the IP Address of the publisher.
    Restart the Cisco DirSync service.
If this procedure does not resolve the issue, complete these steps:
Garbage Collection can cause this issue, so check the logs to determine if it is invoked.
Make sure that the Dirsync service is active.
Check the DirectoryPluginConfig table in the Cisco Unified Communications Manager database to see if there is an entry with pkid 54c43f99-a561-4f3a-868d-26a5547445d9.
Note: The output of the run sql select * from DirectoryPluginConfig command confirms whether the Garbage Collector pkid is present in the DirectoryPluginConfig table when the DirSync service starts.
If the pkid is not present, open a case with the TAC Service Request Tool (registered customers only) and provide a remote support account so that TAC can update the DirectoryPluginConfig table to fix the Garbage Collection row.
    Restart the DirSync service.
