Cannot digitally sign Windows Speech Recognition macros

I have created five WSR macros, which I digitally signed after being asked to set up a digital signature.  When I reboot and try to create more macros I am unable to digitally sign them so I have to create them without a digital signature, and then they are ignored when I try to use them as the text I am saying is entered into WordPad instead of the text I want to enter, but the macros with digital signatures work correctly.
I have also tried pinning WSR macros to the toolbar but when I click, double click, or right click the icon I am unable to open the WSR macros so have to go back to the Notification Area and click the icon there.

Exactly the same problem for me

  • Windows Speech Recognition Macros - Wait for Second Command

Hello all. 'm terribly sorry if this was posted in the wrong forum. Let me know where to put it and I'll move it accordingly.
I'm working with Windows Speech Recognition Macros, and I've got a question. Is there ANY way to write a macro that is triggered when the user says something (<listenFor></listenFor>), has the computer say something back to the user (<speak></speak>)
and then waits a number of seconds for a specific command from the user? An example of what I'm saying would be something like....
    (I named my computer Aurora)
    ME: Aurora, close all windows.
AURORA: Command received. Confirming close all windows.
    *WAIT*
    ME: Confirm.
AURORA: Command confirmed. Closing all windows.
or something along those lines to create some sort of dialogue between the computer and I. Is this acheiveable through the use of Speech Recognition Macros, or would I need to design a program that integrates Windows Speech Recognition to do this (if so,
point me in the right direction)? Or worse, am I asking too much from a simple Speech Recognition program?

If you are asking if you can add wait commands to WSRMacros I do not see why you need a separate program. The Toolkit developed for WSR allows easy creation of WSRMacros and nesting of multiple macros using the Pause Execution command which inserts
your choice of the length of the Wait state.
For writing your own Wait state command, see the MSDN article on the Wait state command. I tried inserting the link but it won't activate because my account has not yet been approved.

  • Windows speech recognition problem

I am trying out windows speech recognition but it seems to slow down Firefox? Scrolling becomes very slow and jumpy and selecting things is slow also. This doesn't happen on Internet Explorer or anywhere else for that matter.
I've disabled my addons to no effect.

    Hi techpadawan1,
Windows Speech Recognition files are saved in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Speech\Files, and also under C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Speech.
The training files are located in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Speech\Files so you can see that it is not a roaming folder.
Also I found a tool “Speech Recognition Profile Manager Tool”
You could use it to import/export to specific folder and it only take few seconds.
Warm remainder:large size file file roaming will cause slow user logon, and some times it will take minitus to log into user interface.

  • Latest Firefox FlashPlayer Plugin (14_0_0_179) software exception 0xc0000710 on Windows 7 32-bit when Windows Speech Recognition is enabled and running.

    Hi,
Please note that I am reporting a problem happened on a different computer than the one that I am now using to submit this report.
    Computer: Dell Optiplex 980
OS: Windows 7 Pro (with all the Windows Updates installed as of Aug 21, 2014)
Browser: Mozilla Firefox 31.0 (most current version as of Aug 21, 2014)
Adobe Flash Player Plugin (for Win7 32-bit, Firefox): the latest FlashPlayerPlugin_14_0_0_179.exe
If I enabled the Win7 Speech Recognition feature, the Firefox FlashPlayer Plugin would generate an Application Error (software exception 0xc0000710) when the FlashPlayer Plugin is *first launch* in a Firefox session.
Subsequent launching of the Flash Player plugin in the same Firefox session would *NOT* trigger the same software exception error again - until another Firefox window is launched.
After the software exception error dialog was dismissed (via the OK button in the dialog), the plugin would go on running without any further problem and the flash video/audio would play correctly.

Please try a clean Flash plugin install: [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/clean-install-flash-player.html] this error was seen last in version 11.8. • Cannot digitally sign documents created with Adobe Acrobat X 10.1.4

The document is created using Acrobat X 10.1.4 Standard
I save it as an Extended PDF.  Signing is verified as being allowed.
When I open the file in Reader, signing is disabled.
This worked just fine 2 months ago.  What changed?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Unfortunately, Acrobat Standard does not include the digital signature usage right when it Reader-enables a document. You'll need Acrobat Pro for that. Note that it shows in Acrobat that signing is allowed, but it won't show the same thing in Reader. That's because signing is allowed in Acrobat unless restrictions are in place.

  • Has anyone successfully used speech recognition software to add captions to photos?

I have tried using Dragon and the builtin features of Win 7, but no luck.  This would be very useful for captioning large quanities of photos.
    Thanks

I was able to create a speech macro that allows me to do this.  I have the marco set up so that I can tell it to 1) record what I dicate, 2) post it into the current picture, 3) move to the next photo.
It is significantly faster (for me) than typing each caption.
This was my first attempt at a (Windows speech recognition) macro, but I would be happen to share it with anyone who wants it.

  • Speech Recognition not working when tested in IE on Windows 8.1

    Hi,
I have adapted the example code form the Speech Recognition documentation to fire up Speech recognition in Visual Studio for Web Express 2013 on Windows 8.
The speech synthensizer works fine when I fire up the app in IE and produce Text-to-speech, but when I try the Speech recognition code, all I get is "Waiting for Localhost" messages, and no result.
Is there a problem with speech recognition with Web development using browsers? (I tried and failed in Opera as well)
I am keen to use speech recognition for a webapp, ultimately serving mobile devices with the power of server-based processing.
    Anyone help please?

  • Windows 7 Speech Recognition causes Flash Player exception error in Firefox

    I have a strange problem.
My system is Windows 7 Ultimate X64 SP1.
Today I started working with Windows Speech Recognition. I found that if I have Speech Recognition running before I launch Firefox 30.0, I get a Flash Player Plug-in Exception error when I load certain websites.
The version of Flash Player (Shockwave Flash) is 14.0.0.14.
I also have SilverLight Plug-In 5.1.20913.0 installed and active.
The problem does not occur when I use IE 10.0.9200.16798 to load the same website.
One of the websites on which the error occurs is: www.bikeforums.net. The error appears as soon as the home page is finished loading.
The exact error reads as follows:
    FlashPlayerPlugin_14_0_0_145.exe - Application Error
The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000710) occurred in the application in location 0x774aa289.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

  • C# Speech Recognition - Movie Database

Hi, I recently started a project which is a digital life assistant. Would it be possible so when the Form starts up it grabs a RSS and pulls the latest names of movies and places it in the Grammar text document? That way I could ask for the latest movies
or show trailers for the movies.

    Hi Danny,
From my point of view, it is possible can be implemented.
Like you said, you can place the latest names of movies in a Speech Recognition Grammar.
When the form loads, it automatically starts Windows Speech Recognition and its graphical user interface. You can activate speech recognition by saying "start listening" or by pressing the Microphone button. The
SpeechRecognized method, which executes when the speech recognizer raises the
SpeechRecognized event, displays the name of all movies that are recognized in the speech input. And search trailers for the movies after matched.

  • Speech Recognition just won't load in WIN 8.1?

Am new to WIN 8.1 - can't get Speech Recognition to load/run... Will not run either from Control Panel, Charms (search for Speech Recognition, click Windows speech recognition or from icon in Task Bar nor from START screen..  BUT.. will run/load when
rebooted (but often won't work/recognise speech correctly (What was that appears??)) as it then automatically appears on bootup; even though it would not run/load in previous session before the reboot.. !!
Am running HP spectre i5, 4 meg 128GB... This failure is very frustrating - lots of other reports of this occurring but can't find any solutions specific to WIN 8.1.. PLEASE HELP - use dictation  lot as typing is abysmal!!

Hi.. yep, have seen the video thank you.. the problem is NOT knowing how to use it.. (Have been in computers and using speech recognition, mainly Nuance DS Professional for
    ages..)
The problem I have is in LOADING the application… sometimes it will load on the click of the mouse (or touch of the screen on this HP SPECTRE) – be it loaded from the task
bar icon that I set up, from the Windows Speech Recognition command vis the CHARMS or even from the START tiles.. other times it will not!!  Must frustrating (will have to buy a new Nuance DNS professional as windows 8.1 is not a platform for DNS Version
10 that I have used for ages – needs !!  or maybe go back to WIN&7??)
Couple of things I have noticed that may help others is that the programme may not load if one clicks the icon too quickly.. I find that hovering the mouse over the icon and
waiting until “Windows speech recognition” appears, THEN clicking the icon works at times.. after the small win Speech Recognition mode (grey) icon is closed by pressing the red “close” button then it is hard to get the programme to load again.. then one must
go to Task manager and stop the Speech Recognition programme by clicking on the end task button..
So.. it’s the initial loading and running of the programme that concerns me..  perhaps the bods at MS could look at how memory is allocated to this programme and why when
closing the Speech Recognition programme from the “grey” speech recognition mode button it is  subsequently “hard” to reload it again and the programme seemingly seems to still run in Task Manager after this close button has been pressed…??  (But,
    I won’t hold my breath)…
    Cheers

  • Digitally signing Macros - CA

We have a requirement to digitally sign all Macros and have followed quite a few guides to how to autoenroll a certificate to a users login via GPO.  I've created Certificate Autoenrollment GPOs to add a cert from our CA to the users Personal Certificate
Store but Office 2010 apps like Excel cannot see the Certificate when i try to add a Digital Certificate. When choosing a Digital Signature, the list is emply/blank.
I've also tried to create a local certificate using the Microsoft Office Digital Certificates for VBA Projects app but the cert still does not appear in the list of available certs to apply to a signature.
Has anyone seen this issue and have a fix for it?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that neither the digital certificates which created by self or CA, they were not deployed correctly via GPO. I recommend we try to read the below article and troubleshooting atoenrollment:

Then we may follow the links to re-autoenroll a certificate:

  • Email cannot be read when it is only digitally signed

I, and my boss (using a Curve) have been having continuous trouble with reading emails that have been digitally signed.  Now, before people start running down the basics, here's what I have done so far:
    1.  Installed latest ROM for both devices, still waiting on 4.5 for my 8830...
    2.  Installed S/MIME application on both devices
    3.  Installed latest Desktop OS on both machines and synchronized certificates from desktop to device and back
Here is the systems we are using:
    1.  Exchange 2003
    2.  BlackBerry Enterprise Server (version unknown, not my department)
    3.  Verisign certificates, managed on-site
Here are some of the caveats we are experiencing.
    1.  We can read signed and/or encrypted messages from Outlook (03/07), Entourage (04/08), and Thunderbird problem-free
    2.  We can read signed AND encrypted, or encrypted ONLY, messages from Mulberry, but we cannot read signed ONLY messages from Mulberry
There is no error message, in fact everything "looks" normal, we are just unable to view the body of the emails.  What we do see is similar to this:
    Received Using: <mailbox> (S/MIME)
    Message Status: Opened
    To: <me>
    Sent: <date>
    From: <Mulberry User>
    Subject: <subject>
    <img><img> Trusted
    [1 Attachment]
    application: Unknown (2K)
The <Mulberry User> did some research and sent me the following information:
This is a signed message sent from Outlook:
    MIME-Version: 1.0
    Content-Type: multipart/signed;
            boundary="----=_NextPart_000_00CE_01C99022.D841F9A0";
            protocol="application/x-pkcs7-signature";
            micalg=SHA1
This is a signed message sent from Mulberry:
    MIME-Version: 1.0
    Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=sha1;
     protocol="application/pkcs7-signature";
     boundary="==========45CF5864B8BBBF80D9D4=========="
See any difference between those two?
According to the RFC, the "application/x-pkcs7-signature" MIME type is supposed to be handled, by clients, the same as the "application/pkcs7-signature" MIME type, which is the "correct" MIME type.  So Mulberry handles it correctly.  Outlook does not.  And neither does the Blackberry.  Because *all* clients *should* honor both types.
    http://www.ietf.org/proceedings/05nov/RFCs/rfc2311.txt
    "C.1 Early MIME Types
Some early implementations of S/MIME agents used the following MIME types:
       application/x-pkcs7-mime
       application/x-pkcs7-signature
       application/x-pkcs10
In each case, the "x-" subtypes correspond to the subtypes described in this document without the "x-"."
"This memo also discusses how to use the multipart/signed MIME type defined in [MIME-SECURE] to transport S/MIME signed messages. This memo also defines the application/pkcs7-signature MIME type, which is also used to transport S/MIME signed messages. This specification is compatible with PKCS #7 in that it uses the data types defined by PKCS #7."
    3.4.1 Choosing a Format for Signed-only Messages
There are no hard-and-fast rules when a particular signed-only format should be chosen because it depends on the capabilities of all the receivers and the relative importance of receivers with S/MIME facilities being able to verify the signature versus the importance of receivers without S/MIME software being able to view the message.
Messages signed using the multipart/signed format can always be viewed by the receiver whether they have S/MIME software or not. They can also be viewed whether they are using a MIME-native user agent or they have messages translated by a gateway. In this context, "be viewed" means the ability to process the message essentially as if it were not a signed message, including any other MIME structure the message might have."
This means that the Blackberry is required, by RFC, to be able to read a signed message even without the aid of S/MIME capable software.  The fact that it does not is a failure of the Blackberry.
The above email was in reference to the fact that all of these emails that cannot be read on the devices, can be read in Outlook, and when a signed message is sent from Outlook, it can be read on the devices.  Furthermore, this is not to say that the information above is 100% valid and correct, but I am hoping that it sparks some discussion and hopefully a resolution can be found.
Thanks for your time in reading this.
    Andrew
    BB8830

Well not 100% sure but in my experience the following setting is the problem "Enable S/MIME Encryption on Signed or Weakly encrypted messages". This setting is a per server setting and is found in the general options of the server.
When this is set to true the BES encryptes the message again over the signed message...but then for some reason unknown it doesn't decrypt it back when the client reads it.
Maybe you could ask your admins and try it out and see if it works...

  • Update 9.1.2 breaks digital signing documents in Adobe 9 Pro on Windows XP

I am able to digitally sign documents using an Aladdin eToken Pro 64k with a fresh copy of Adobe 9 Pro for Windows. However when I update to version 9.1.2 digital signing fails with an "error encountered while BER decoding". Signing still works on Vista and Adobe 9.1.2 Pro. I've checked to make sure none of the settings relating to digital signing changed during the update and none have. Anyone have any ideas on how to correct the problem?

    Hi Nick,
First up, there was a small error in my previous post. I said the version of Acrobat (and whenever I say Acrobat I really mean both Acrobat and Reader, but I'm too lazy to type both) that was modified to fix the bug in SHA-1 fallback was 9.1.3, but I really meant 9.3.  Sorry about that.
I saw your post from yesterday (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/563601) where you broached the BER decoding error, but in the post above you said signature creation isn't failing any more, so hopefully some update has fixed the problem.
Here's a little bit about the BER Decoding error. During the signing process Acrobat writes the entire file to disk (which is why you always get the Save As dialog as part of the signing process) in the signed state with everything but the actual signature. However, it does leave a hole in the file where the BER encoded cryptographic data will reside once it's be computed and formatted. One thing that is created before the actual signature is the signature appearance. The signature appearance in the form field isn't really the signature proper, but just a graphic representation of the actual signature. The reason that the signature appearance is written to disk before the signature is created is because it too is part of the signed data and must exist before the actual signature is created.
In a perfect world, after the file is written to disk, the cryptographic signature is created and written into the hole in the PDF file, and the signing process completes without any problem. However, if we get to the point that the file has been written out, but during the actual signature creation the process fails, that hole I mentioned isn't filled in. It's not really a hole per se, but a block of zeros that act as a placeholder for the BER encoded data.  Because there was some sort of failure and Acrobat didn't get the signed data back from the hardware device what you end up with is a PDF file with a signature appearance, but no real signature in the file. When you click on the signature field Acrobat tries to validate the actual signature, it finds the block of zeros where the signed data was supposed to be, it tries to decode the zeros and gets (as you might well imagine) nothing back and displays the BER Decoding error.
Let leaves us with why didn't Acrobat get the signed data back. When using hardware devices, such as tokens or smart cards, the actual cryptographic signing (the encryption of of the digest with the users private key) takes place on the device. Acrobat (nor any other application) doesn't have access to the private key, which is what makes hardware devices more secure. It's up to the device to sign the data and send it back. If there is any kind of breakdown in that communication channel (which I mentioned in my previous post) the signature creation doesn't reach fruition and you're left with an unsigned file that looks like it was signed because there is a signature appearance.
This is a case where we are providing technically correct, and utterly useless information. It's true that we can't decode a bunch of zeros, but what we should be telling the user is there is no signature (it's kind of like the Matrix where there is no spoon ).
I hope this helps explain what you're seeing. If the the signing process breaks down again please make sure you are using the latest version of Acrobat/Reader and the token software is up-to-date.  If everything is current and the problem returns please let me know.
    Steve

  • Cannot open digitally signed PDF's with Acrobat but can with Reader.

My users have PDF files that have been digitally signed by other users.
When opening these files with Adobe Acrobat Pro, it crashes the application.- a generic referenced memory error on some systems, a DDE server error on others, or a font capture error on others - not sure why the discrepancy there.
The files can be opened with Adobe Reader with no error.
We are at Acrobat 9.4.5 and Reader 9.4.5
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat Pro 9 and verified the same result with Pro 9.0 so it isn't the version or an update.
I have verified this on multiple machines. - I have even installed both pro and reader on one machine and verified that I could open the PDF file with Reader but not Acrobat Pro.
We can open other PDF files with no problem.
I have tried disabling as much of the security options as possible but still get the same result.
If I clear the PDF file fields (including the signatures) in Adobe Reader then it can be opened in Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Does Acrobat Pro authenticate the digital signatures differently than Adobe Reader?
Thank you in advance for your time.

    Hi J.O.S.,
Regarding your question "Does Acrobat Pro authenticate the digital signatures differently than Adobe Reader" the short answer is no.
However, there are other things that Acrobat can do with a file that Reader cannot, so there could be an operation that Acrobat is trying to execute (other than signature validation) which is causing the crash. You don't see it in Reader because Reader doesn't know how to do whatever the offending operation is.
That said, can you send me the file that is crashing Acrobat to [email protected] and I'll see if I can figure out what is amiss.
    Thanks,
    Steve
